  • I dont own a car, I've used a council uplift service a few times and its pretty good. I get that people dont like having to spend noney on these kind of things but it absolutely doesn't break the bank. I think people should take personal responsibility for their own stuff, the environment and our city. Its it the SNP or the council's fault if the people are fly tipping or littering. by mattius3 (Tue 29th Jun 2021 8:37am)
  • I had my 2nd vaccine 4 months ago, personally I wont be going out to pubs, clubs or anywhere with close contact with people and I advise everyone else to still be very careful and consider if its really worth the risk. by mattius3 (Thu 22nd Jul 2021 10:33am)
  • Im seeing my family and stuff, I didnt mean avoid that. Im not telling anyone what to do either. by mattius3 (Thu 22nd Jul 2021 2:16pm)
  • Id make a complaint to the factor or the council. If you have tried to approach them then you have done the best you can. Definitely seems like its a constant thing and not a 1 off. by mattius3 (Thu 29th Jul 2021 4:22pm)
  • Whatever you wear is wrong, the weather changes constantly. by mattius3 (Sun 1st Aug 2021 9:59am)
  • Glasgow city council is a problem. They seem to think cutting services encourages people to recycle. I do recycle and Im just thankful that my flat area has plenty of bins cause in my old place it was torture, you were keeping bins inside and run out as soon as the bin men had been. The other problem is cultural. A lot of people toss their trash on the streets and dont give it a 2nd thought. I see it all the time and people would sooner stand and moan about Nicola Sturgeon not caring than actually do something themselves or direct their complaint to the right place. by mattius3 (Mon 9th Aug 2021 9:50am)
  • I got a 97 MiM for £250 off ebay a few years ago. The saddle on the 6th string was broken and the screws on the scratch plate were worn away so i got o £50 refund which i was happy with. by mattius3 (Fri 20th Aug 2021 8:57am)
  • All the hampden drivers were really nice but now I always get in the cab to a driver that asks me where we are going, because they cant be bothered using the app, and then dont have a clue where that is. by mattius3 (Sat 21st Aug 2021 7:22pm)

  • 2012-2013, probably wont know any of you then. by mattius3 (Tue 7th Sep 2021 5:21pm)
  • Firstbus are horrible. If you need yo be somewhere, aim for the 1 before the 1 that gets you there on time. Figure out where the timed bus stops are, these are the ones drivers must wait at until a certain time, you can usually find these easily as they sometimes stop there for 30 seconds or so on a good day. When going for a bus, try be 10-15 minutes early and be prepared to have to wait 15 minutes after a bus is due. The tracking on the app doesn't work on all busses so dont rely on it. Dont ait upstairs on a Saturday night and be prepared for there to be no space for you during peak times. by mattius3 (Tue 21st Sep 2021 3:38pm)
  • Firstbus are trash, you should be focusing on finding a nice warm rainproof jacket for when the inevitable lack of drivers leaves you standing in the freezing rain for hours. The vest value for money is the 10 week ticket but its ridiculous that you have to pay for it in 1 payment, that's 2 and a bit months worth of travel for me but i have to pay for it in 1 months pay. by mattius3 (Sun 3rd Oct 2021 12:09pm)
  • I could get a 4 but it stops 20 minutes away from my work but that would mean taking a 57 to the city centre and then a 4 which would take 40 minutes to Newton Mearns plus the 20 minute walk, I'd have to start leaving ridiculously early. by mattius3 (Mon 4th Oct 2021 4:44pm)
  • I have complained on twitter and filled in their complaints form but all you get is an pre-written apology. by mattius3 (Mon 4th Oct 2021 4:42pm)
  • I start at 13:30, it's 3.8 miles to walk. Might sound reasonable for some but it takes me an hour and a half to do that so by the time I get to work id be tired and sweaty, then have to do it at the end of the shift, it would be too much. by mattius3 (Mon 4th Oct 2021 4:41pm)
  • Its due at 12:49 for sure. They are usually always early because there is a huge amount of traffic going through Shawlands so once they get through that they bomb it down the A77. They only stop at the timed bus stops, 1 in Shawlands, next in Giffnock which is about 4 stops after mine. Its either my luck or just a time of day thing, the bus i want is always early, the next ones are always late. by mattius3 (Mon 4th Oct 2021 4:49pm)

  • Im not good on a bike. by mattius3 (Mon 4th Oct 2021 4:45pm)
  • I shouldn't have to be leaving the hours an hour and a half before my shift starts to get a 20 minute bus journey. by mattius3 (Mon 4th Oct 2021 5:09pm)
  • Its not a timed stop, they always wait at those. by mattius3 (Mon 4th Oct 2021 5:29pm)
  • My managers are actually great and understand the situation. I already do leave early, your idea isn't original. The bus is due at 12:49 and I missed it at 12:41, so I was early, I shouldn't be missing it 8 minutes before its due. This is a regular occurrence, I shouldn't have to there more than 2-3 minutes early. Plus the next bus was very late aswell. Im not looking for solutions to fix what im doing wrong, I'm doing a lot to make sure I can catch a bus, the service is just so terrible. by mattius3 (Mon 4th Oct 2021 5:28pm)
  • I wasnt at the stop when he was there, I was waving at him from further along the road, by their rules you are onlyallowed to stop for passengers at bus stops for health and safety reasons. The timing stands up though. by mattius3 (Mon 4th Oct 2021 5:32pm)
  • Yes I did, sorry, fixed it now. by mattius3 (Mon 4th Oct 2021 9:29pm)
  • The delivery was good before but its pretty bad now. There is lots of shortages and there isnt a great way to communicate, sometimes they dont have sauces and they cant tell you or make it unavailable on the app so its not always that they get it wrong. I once paid for garlic mayo from kfc (which i utterly adore) and I was raging when I got something else, I called them up and they said it was cause they dont have any. I live close to a few McDonald's and the delivery now is taking 50 mins to an hour when months ago it was 20 minutes. A lot of the new drivers are utterly shit but theres just so many problems with the country right now. by mattius3 (Sun 17th Oct 2021 12:51pm)
  • Second night in a rowy bus home from work hasnt appeared. Its cold and wet, ive just worked a shift in a nursing home and I just want to get home, people deserve better than this, I pay them £115 for a 10 week ticket and their shittt app showed a bus was coming only for it to disappear and not show up. by mattius3 (Fri 29th Oct 2021 9:17pm)
  • I have nothing against drivers, I lnow its not their fault. I do get annoyed when drivers are rude and dismissive though, in my job if I spoke to a service user the way ive been spoken to by some drivers I would be fired. by mattius3 (Fri 29th Oct 2021 9:20pm)
  • A lot of places do mention on the menu for larger tables it will be added but you are right they should tell you. Personally I dont always tip, I do when I can afford to. You might say I should always tip but I work in a nursing home, I get paid a little over minimum wage, as I'm not part of the NHS I dont get a lot of the extea bonuses and discounts that they get which I would if I just worked in a different place. I pay all my bills and taxes, as every member of society should and I fully support them getting paid better, as I think everyone who works a hard job should be paid for their hard work, I'm not in any way saying anyon deserves the current minimum wage, everyone deserves more. I tip what I can, sometimes thats between 10-20% but other times I dont because I can only afford the bill. by mattius3 (Mon 1st Nov 2021 4:11pm)

  • I complained and got the following reply "Thank you for contacting us. I’m sorry to hear that you experienced a problem with our 38 service on 29 October 2021. Please accept my apologies for the length of time taken to respond to you. As is being experienced across the bus industry, we have seen varying levels of driver shortages in some of our operating areas over the last few weeks, like other road transport businesses. We are doing everything we can to maintain a comprehensive network of services that supports our customers and our communities. Most routes are running normally although in some areas we are making temporary timetable adjustments to ensure a reliable service and minimise disruption. We thank customers for their patience and understanding while we overcome this short-term situation. We are working with local authorities to ensure that real time information screens at bus stops are updated to show cancellation information. Additionally, we are working on developments within the First Bus App to also display cancellations. In the meantime, please do use the App feature which shows the live bus tracking on the map. Once again, I’m sorry that your journey was affected on this occasion and would thank you for taking the time to get in touch. If we can help you with any other matter in the future, please don’t hesitate to contact us. Kind Regards, David Starr National Contact Centre Manager" by mattius3 (Thu 11th Nov 2021 9:33pm)
  • Im not a fine diner but i love TukTuk. by mattius3 (Fri 12th Nov 2021 11:07am)
  • The Live Tracker is a lie. It tracks bus times and shows the ghost of busses that arent actually running. They are currently working on a way of telling us when a bus is cancelled. They are perfectly capable of taking your money for weekly/monthy tickets that you depend on for work but they cant be bothered making an effort to tell you when they arent turning up. Im regularly standing in th cold for over an hour before and after work. by mattius3 (Wed 15th Dec 2021 8:04pm)
  • They do have GPS, theres just no system in place to deal with a bus not running. by mattius3 (Thu 16th Dec 2021 10:08am)

  • Felt similar recently, spoke to my gp and got on Sertraline straight away and it has helped but its tough on you for the first 4 days. Therapy is kinda off atm due to the pandemic but if you go to https://www.wellbeing-glasgow.org.uk/ you can sign yourself up for virtual sessions and theres some stuff you can work through yourself. • I think nightshifts are more expensive to run and wages are the largest part of expenses. It used to be the norm that shops stocked up overnight but more and more it has become socially acceptable to have people out on the floor stocking shelves. by mattius3 (Thu 26th May 2022 1:48pm)

  • I refuse to use ubereats it's that bad, just eat has good customer service. I totally empathize with the delivery drivers, they are underpaid, underappreciated and unsupported, I could never do a job like that where there's a large amount of time pressure and you are expected to know all the streets. by mattius3 (Thu 14th Jul 2022 10:34am)

  • After 9 I start to wind down and stop making noise. If it's that you are constantly making a lot of noise for long hours of the day I'd consider it complaint worthy but if it's a 1 off or a few days that on wouldn't bother me. The law for Scotland in in terms of of noise is quite good and understanding. by mattius3 (Sat 6th Aug 2022 9:24pm)
  • It's absolutely disgusting that you were treated that way and it's definitely not representative of Glasgow. Anytime I encounter racism like this I interfer in the incident and call it out, everyone should do the same. by mattius3 (Fri 12th Aug 2022 3:10pm)

  • You can contact environmental health about it, that's too late to be doing glass. I know a lot of people here are brushing it off but you have a good complaint here. by mattius3 (Tue 13th Sep 2022 2:14pm)
  • Tipping is bad, it encourages companies getting away with underpaying staff. Those people that get tips deserve them but I would prefer we normalised good wages rather than subsidies. I work as a carer in a nursing home, it's unethical for us to take tips from service users, for good reason. Does that mean carers deserve less than taxi drivers or waiters? No and pitting workers against each other against each other against each other is not the solution. All workers deserve a fair wage and shouldn't have to rely on customers stepping in. by mattius3 (Tue 18th Oct 2022 3:10pm)
  • I got a really long cable from Maplin *Checks it's still open* Long gone, sorry. I get everything like that from Amazon usually. Priceless might have something like that. by mattius3 (Sat 22nd Oct 2022 2:50pm)
  • Only problem is the weekly/monthly tickets are a must and the amount of time I get fucked over by firstbus I'd end up with a hefty discount on my tickets and they wouldn't make a profit. End of the day, companies are alway going to run it for profit and the current situation is a win win for them. Lack of drivers means they basically just have to apologize and take full price on tickets while paying less wages. It needs to be taken out of the hands of private companies I'm afraid, as do some other services. You cannot argue with people to get out of their cars and into a bus when the service is this poor because they will always run it in a way that means the most profit with the least cost. A transport system run by the public for the public would be the best possible scenario. I start work at 7:30 and need to get the earliest bus on the route, on Sundays that bus isn't until 7:25 opposed to the weekdays 6:38, or fuckin 6:32 which they sometimes come at because fuck all stops apart from the timed ones seems to be the motto of their drivers. Imagine we had an affordable bus service every route every 15 minutes regardless of how profitable the route was. It would encourage less car usage and encourage people to take up jobs that require public transport port. by mattius3 (Sun 30th Oct 2022 5:30pm)
  • There is talk of them taking over but it will take 7 years. by mattius3 (Mon 7th Nov 2022 7:32pm)
  • I pay what I am able, sometimes I have a decent amount of surplus cash and can tip, other times I don't. I work in a job that's generally frowned upon to accept tips so I really don't get this idea that you must tip everytime. The price is the price, a tip is optional. by mattius3 (Thu 22nd Dec 2022 9:23pm)

  • I was waiting to get the last number 3 home from Silverburn but a lorry had parked in the bus stop, I was right at the tip of the stop and tried to wave down the bus but the driver just shooed me and left me stranded at 11:30. • You need to stop thinking all busses are linked. McGills are different from Firstbus. If it makes it easier for you, consider McGills busses with an M infront of them and Firstbus with an F. Now you have M3 and F3. Those have different routes which do overlap at some locations. by mattius3 (Wed 17th May 2023 2:57pm)
  • They should be able to tell you what busses have been cancelled but I suppose they don't want to admit how bad their service is. by mattius3 (Fri 19th May 2023 8:28am)
  • Same, I've seen the ones with no seats turn up and the cancelled ones turn up. It's very frustrating as there seems to be no 100% rules, even when it has seats showing and a time they can just end up disappearing as the driver can just fuckin turn around and declare their shift is over. by mattius3 (Fri 19th May 2023 4:39pm)
  • Went to the cathouse recently, I'm 35 and I could pass for mid to late 20s and I didn't get ID'd. Chances are you won't get asked. End of the day you are old enough and as long as you aren't looking mega sus or trying to look older then they won't ask you. by mattius3 (Mon 22nd May 2023 8:19pm)

  • Private diagnosis are dodgy, a lot of places diagnose too easily and will try sell you drugs that might not be suitable. The NHS won't recognise a lot of private diagnosis due to how easy they are to get and unreliable. Unfortunately you have to stay strong and rely on support until you can get an NHS diagnosis which is very daunting and can take years. by mattius3 (Thu 8th Jun 2023 12:30pm)
