  • I've run out of bog roll and been stuck on the pan for the past 94 minutes. My mum is trying to get me some but she cant find any shops with stock. Can you help? by theboylogan84 (Fri 13th Mar 2020 1:14pm)
  • Dumgoyne on the road out past milgavie and mugdock country park by theboylogan84 (Wed 1st Jul 2020 9:40pm)
  • I'd be keen to join. I cycle regularly but always more fun with company. by theboylogan84 (Wed 11th Nov 2020 6:04pm)
  • I don't have much to offer that the good folks before me haven't but I will say this. As a fellow Glaswegian and someone who has witnessed the grasp alcohol holds on people, can I just say well done man. Even taking the time to reach out on Reddit takes guts. Very well done and I hope you continue on this journey to get well. by theboylogan84 (Thu 12th Nov 2020 8:44pm)
  • The "Shatin" chinese takeaway despite the name is wonderful by theboylogan84 (Wed 18th Nov 2020 6:51pm)
  • I'd agree with the comments. I work in the town and cycle past central every day and sadly it's been this bad for a long long time. If you can move i would. I live in white inch and although it's also not the nicest in some places, you can strike gold if you pick a decent street as the flats are old tenements and are stunning and huge inside. Hope you get something sorted. I have lived in many areas of Glasgow through the years. Need any advice let me know. My friend also owns several properties he rents out and I'd be happy to ask if he has any available just now for you. All the best. by theboylogan84 (Sun 22nd Nov 2020 8:55am)

  • Was a cool see house though by theboylogan84 (Mon 22nd Feb 2021 6:58pm)
  • Yeha I've walked thru on the other side of the park and it's pretty grim. Apparently the house is coming off market anyway as had hundreds of interest. by theboylogan84 (Mon 22nd Feb 2021 6:58pm)
  • The Whole of Glasgow appears to be deprived haha, VOTE SNP by theboylogan84 (Mon 22nd Feb 2021 7:09pm)
  • Yeah litter is a disgrace just now all over. God knows why the council can't lift it during lockdown. Makes no sense. And who these days just throws litter away..... by theboylogan84 (Mon 22nd Feb 2021 9:09pm)
  • Yeah there really is no excuse at all. Although I do see bins absolutely overflowing but who in their right mind attempts to put rubbish in to a bin that's already overspilling. People are mental by theboylogan84 (Mon 22nd Feb 2021 9:18pm)
  • Agreed, I live in Scotstoun and the streets are an utter disgrace. Sometimes the bin men don't even collect anymore and when you report a missed collection it takes around 5 weeks for a response. By then they have been collected. I watched the Bin men empty some bins the other day and 10% of all the rubbish was just blowing on to the road and streets with no attempt to scoop it back up. And don't even get me started in the pot holes. The city/country really is in a sorry state. by theboylogan84 (Tue 23rd Feb 2021 5:40pm)
  • Yeah, sounds like it's a no for me I think 🀣 by theboylogan84 (Tue 23rd Feb 2021 8:28pm)
  • You know those people that leave their dog's poos in the little black bags lying around parks and hanging from trees.....? start collecting them, start posting them through his door EN MASSE!! Tens at a time, late at night, quietly. He doesn't sound the type to want to call the cops. Let's see how long he lasts. PS- The longer it's been hanging/sitting in the bag (in the sun) the better. Report back :-) by theboylogan84 (Wed 7th Apr 2021 9:58am)
  • Sometimes it's actually cheaper/better to buy a regular bike and use it on an indoor turbo trainer. That way you can have best if both worlds. by theboylogan84 (Thu 8th Apr 2021 8:31am)
  • In my opinion, I would say yes. Better to buy a stand or turbo trainer. Fitness bikes usually end up becoming places to hang clothes pretty quickly when people get bored of them. At least if you have your bike and the stand/turbo then you can swap between indoor and outdoor riding. Also, if you ever want some company on a cycle my friends and I regularly like to go on loops around and about the city. You'd be welcome to join. by theboylogan84 (Thu 8th Apr 2021 9:07am)
  • Be careful when approaching multiple lenders and having multiple knock backs as lots of soft checks on credit could end up causing delays/issues too. Out of interest, where is the property? by theboylogan84 (Thu 8th Apr 2021 12:38pm)
  • Soft checks won't harm your credit score. But it will show to lenders that a credit search has been carried out. Multiple searches don't look good. by theboylogan84 (Thu 8th Apr 2021 2:33pm)
  • "Does being declined a mortgage affect my credit score? Having a mortgage application declined doesn't damage your credit score. However, it will show on your credit report that a mortgage lender conducted a search, but not what the result was" by theboylogan84 (Thu 8th Apr 2021 3:00pm)

  • I think, like others have saidz that there would be some benefit to be gained from speaking to your GP. I'm a volunteer for a charity called shout. It's a text based charity so no need to worry about awkward calls etc. Might be good for you to reach out and talk things through with a volunteer. Text shout to 85258. Where in the city are you based? by theboylogan84 (Wed 19th May 2021 8:20pm)
  • Must say, I've been singing the praises of bulb for a few years now. Definitely the best. Easy to use app/website, they monitor Ur usage fairly and refund you easily if you pay too much. Would highly reccomend. by theboylogan84 (Thu 10th Jun 2021 11:42am)
  • What area of the city do you hail from? by theboylogan84 (Fri 18th Jun 2021 4:18pm)
  • Ah good stuff. Are you into hiking or cycling? My friends and I regularly do both. The more the merrier and it's a good way to meet more folks. by theboylogan84 (Fri 18th Jun 2021 4:24pm)

  • Remove head, ice cream scoop the insides. Smoke it on BBQ and whala, you have a sick grizzly Adams style hat. No one will mess. Ever by theboylogan84 (Mon 12th Jul 2021 8:21pm)
  • Head over to duntocher then straight down kilbowie road to the river and follow it via cycle path all way by theboylogan84 (Sun 18th Jul 2021 5:22pm)
  • Or again, go through duntocher and then head along great western Road. Its actually cycle laned the majority of the way so only need to contend with buses. That's the way i go when heading to Byers Road. by theboylogan84 (Wed 21st Jul 2021 6:48pm)
  • Only suggested because you mentioned "safe". Alternatively, just use the road and go direct. by theboylogan84 (Wed 21st Jul 2021 6:45pm)
  • I had similar problems and ultimately settled in Duntocher, comes under Clydebank but at the other side of GW road and as close to bearden and Milngavie. Managed to get a 3 bed house with front side and rear garden and garage for 140k. Commute to Glasgow city takes 45 mins on the bus. Have a choice of 3 stations 30 mins walk away or can cycle in 45 mins. For me it's been the best decision I've made. Almost feels rural too Nas have the kilpatrick hills on my door step. Worth a consider I'd say. Good luck. Edit. I went as much over the asking price as I could afford. It wasn't much but it sealed me the deal. Always go in with as much as you think it's worth to you. by theboylogan84 (Fri 30th Jul 2021 6:28pm)

  • Got picks of the boiler? by theboylogan84 (Tue 17th Aug 2021 12:55pm)
  • All streets(or at least most) west of partick cross are free parking by theboylogan84 (Wed 18th Aug 2021 5:56pm)
  • I know a lot of people who grew up in Greenock, the consensus always seems to be that you get outta there as soon as possible. I would avoid it. Have you considered somewhere maybe like knightswood, Scotstoun, Clydebank, Duntocher? all have very affordable homes and with in sight of the city. by theboylogan84 (Mon 23rd Aug 2021 10:13am)
  • Could always do a cycle from Glasgow towards mugdock and swim in one of the lochs nearby by theboylogan84 (Tue 7th Sep 2021 3:22pm)
  • Use the first bus app by theboylogan84 (Wed 22nd Sep 2021 12:42pm)
  • I went for a while when I lived in partick. It sucks. Pure gym on bath street is better, cheaper, has more cardio machines, better weight selections more racks and Smith machines and the number 3 bus gets you right outside and takes you thru partick in 10 mins. Plus it's not a contract. Avoid. by theboylogan84 (Thu 7th Oct 2021 10:56pm)
  • I concur, I have a girlfriend and some pals that are occasionally up for pints but I still love going to cinema alone. I also enjoy the off day to myself to go for food somewhere, take a book, get a coffee. Embrace it man. by theboylogan84 (Mon 11th Oct 2021 10:55pm)
  • Looks exactly like my new bike. Only bought it the other day too from gumtree. Hope he finds it. Buggers. by theboylogan84 (Mon 1st Nov 2021 8:29pm)
  • I wouldn't recommend anyone to hit the hills in trainers. These hills are great and can all be done in a day but at this time of year heading to the hills without proper gear would be reckless. Boots, waterproof jacket and warm gear a must. But yeah, arrochar has some wonderful day trips in the hills. by theboylogan84 (Sat 6th Nov 2021 1:48pm)
  • The kilpatrick hills have lots of great trails. Start from the carpark on Cochno Road. by theboylogan84 (Sat 6th Nov 2021 1:47pm)
  • Also, depending on what time you are setting off, I could be interested in going a hike too of you wanted a guide/ company. I have a car. by theboylogan84 (Sat 6th Nov 2021 1:59pm)
  • This would be fine with trainers yeah. It doesn't take in any peaks but still a lovely walk. by theboylogan84 (Sat 6th Nov 2021 1:57pm)
  • I'd disagree. Maybe summer, and if you are an experienced trail runner but I'd assume (maybe wrongly) that most aren't. by theboylogan84 (Sat 6th Nov 2021 8:12pm)
  • It's actually not too difficult to get to. Train to dalmuir then number two bus takes.you to about 20 minutes walk away from the trail. I can give more info if you decide on it by theboylogan84 (Sat 6th Nov 2021 8:11pm)

  • Hehe I'm loving the down votes 🀣 it's up there as one of the worst cars for environmental impact you can own in the UK. Not to mention it's in the category of "I drive like and A hole " along with Audi drivers. by theboylogan84 (Wed 17th Nov 2021 7:32am)

  • No way what a mess. Id get straight onto the landlord and the building factors ASAP. They need to legally provide a safe place for you to stay. I wouldn't even be cleaning it up tbh. They need to do it. Have you spoken to your upstairs neighbour about what's happened? Our of interest, what part of Glasgow do you stay in? I rented in scotstoun for a while before buying and the white Inch and sctostoun HA were amazing with any issues. by theboylogan84 (Thu 18th Nov 2021 6:42pm)
  • Sorry to hear this. I'll share it with my friends. Was he out for a hike in the callander area? Is it possible he got lost/took a stumble? The woods are pretty popular, hopefully the police will be scouring off trail. by theboylogan84 (Wed 24th Nov 2021 2:41pm)
  • Sorry to hear this. What part of West end are you? I'm in the west too. by theboylogan84 (Wed 24th Nov 2021 2:49pm)
  • Jeeeez, it gives me the fear. Also amazing that estate agents don't have cleaners on the payroll. Not expecting them to fix the damage to the ceiling but at bare minimum surely they could remove all the trash, wee skoosh of industrial strength bleach here and there.... by theboylogan84 (Fri 26th Nov 2021 1:35pm)

  • I mean you still need to hoover and mop as well though bro. You can't just be dumping a bottle of peppermint oil on top of breadcrumbs and dug shite and expect it to get better. by theboylogan84 (Sun 12th Dec 2021 7:44pm)

  • Their worst trait for me has gotta be the whole "if my doors closed, you're not getting on". The amount of times I've sprinted for the bus in pissing rain, locked eyes with the drive, waved, be at the door and they just shake their head and patch you. Infuriating. Especially when the end up either stuck in traffic or unable to pull out for another few minutes and you've to just stand there like a pleb. Usually getting soaked . by theboylogan84 (Wed 15th Dec 2021 7:01pm)

I can't offer too much that others haven't already put a lot better than I can. But hang in there, you'll find you're feet. What is important to remember is you are still you, with or without this person. You MUST continue to get up,.look after yourself, make plans (even if alone) and keep taking each day as it comes. If you want an ear feel free to IM me. Would be happy to chat, get a beer etc (althougn not at this very moment as I'm on covid lockdown until Tuesday 😭, I'm currently alone on movie 3 of the day , 12 monkeys if your interested in knowing ). by theboylogan84 (Sun 19th Dec 2021 2:28pm)

  • I actually walk from my front door as it's not far but a good starting point would be at Auchnacraig Car park. Leaving the car park on foot turn right and walk about 150 metres and you'll see a sign pointing up hill for the route to the loch. Once on that there's no going wrong. At the top you then have quite a lot of options for alternative routes further into the kilpatricks (over towards Duncolm is a goody) or back down towards the village. by theboylogan84 (Sun 19th Dec 2021 7:43pm)
