  • Always have a little chuckle when I read these stories. When I grew up I remember gangs from the local Catholic school used to wait for single kids from the near non denominational school to walk by so they could beat them up. I also don't give to nuns when I see them collecting in their tins, nothing to do with their religion, it's just that a very good friend and her brother were in a home run by The Sisters Of Nazareth who used to kick the shit out of them when they were 8 and 10 year old (must have been God's will eh), dunno if it was sexual as she doesn't open up about her time in there. Another time in Maryhill shopping centre the nun leaned forward and coughed in the face of an Asian guy because he didn't put a pound in her tin. I remember walking through the Barras in Glasgow with my England top on, told to go home as I was an English cunt, Orange bastard and a few more by the local green and white top wearing gang with some wearing a national strip which was also green, weirdly enough I was walking through as I had just visted my Catholic Celtic supporting best mate who didn't even bat an eye and what I was wearing. But using your logic can we assume all Irish Catholics are child beating racist bigots, roam in gangs to beat up poor defenceless folks going about their business alone, built on a religion that beats up children and targets Asians??? The answer is "NO" btw, as you can't judge a whole group, community, belief, etc etc etc on a few incidents by idiots. by verdifer (Fri 26th Jun 2020 2:53pm)
  • I'm pretty sure anything like this won't help your credit rating, so if you have a decent rating - is it worth losing it. But, your debt of £770 is nothing IMHO. Some of these collectors from England don't know or hope you don't know that the law in England is different in Scotland, I believe we do have bailiffs or at least our version but they aren't the same as down south. Down south they can come to your house/business and start taking your stuff regardless of what it is, in Scotland many items in your home are protected and can't be touched, they can look at taking stuff from your garden or garage which is weird, I think they can take your bicycle if it's in your garage but can't if it is in your house. Think we have all seen "Can't pay and we will take it away" on the TV. As for your debt, it isn't that much so you could call them and make an offer to pay it up. I would make a stupid offer like £20 a month or even £10. If they refuse I would just play hard ball and explain that I have no money and even £20 a month is going to affect my finances and also highlight how much stress, mental anguish and problems this debt is causing to you which in turn is having an effect on your day to day life. If they still refuse I would just stick to my guns and inform them that this is the best you can offer and if they aren't willing to accept this then it seems you have both come to an impasse, this leaves the ball in their court where they can accept the payment (it's not much, but lets face it your debt is really low and they aren't short of money) and get their money, even if it is slowly but surely. The other option they have is to take you to court to get the money in which case a judge would determine the amount you pay (this would prob be the amount you offered anyway) which will cost them more money. many debts are not so much written of but are forgot about as the court costs to get it back are more than the debt. A while ago I got into debt with my Council Tax of £4000 and Glasgow City Council sent it to the Sheriff Officers, Glasgow City Council are notorious and don't care about the poor folks in the street and use low life scum debt collectors who don't care about anyone and have a reputation of being horrible and try to bully folks. They sent me a letter demanding I pay something like £2500 before the end of the week or they would take the matter further, I called them and explained that I don't have this type of money and offered a payment of £100 a month to pay the debt off, I told them that this is all I can afford and if they don't want to accept it then I would need to consolidate all my debts into a Trust Deed, in this case they would need to wait 4 or 5 years and see how much they get from the Trust Deed pot, needless to say after I told them this they were more than happy to accept the £100 a month payment offer, so don't be scared of the big bad debt collector who will try to scare you. When I was at college I used my Clydesdale bank account to pay my SKY TV and once I was £1 short and I never knew. A little while later I got a letter saying I owed them a few hundred pounds, I went to the bank and they said that their policy is to charge £30 every day an account is overdrawn, I said I can't afford this and they didn't care. Years later a debt collector contacted me about the debt which had now jumped up several hundred pounds to something like £600. I called the debt collector and said how this all spawned from being £1 overdrawn, and that I refused to pay and I was willing to take my chance in court and that I didn't believe there was a judge in the land that would force me to pay £600 for a £1 debt, I never heard from them again. With your debt I wouldn't get upset or stressed out as nothing bad will happen to you. But as I said at the start, if you have a decent credit rating - is it worth losing it for £770 which you can pay back in instalments. If your credit rating is already piss poor and you don't care you can just ignore it as all they will do is send you a letter every now and again saying you owe them money. After 5/6 years of ignoring them the debt will be written off anyway and won't show on your credit report. by verdifer (Sat 18th Jul 2020 10:32pm)

  • Yup, if they can't put a tax on it on the hope people stay away from it they are fukked, like the sugar Tax, we don't need a sugar Tax we need folks taught about balanced diets. But while I believe the guy has good intentions and believes he is doing good, I don't actually see what he is achieving. The main problem isn't really finding a place for taking the drugs, the problem is things like people having to prostitute themselves or move into a life of crime where they bounce in and out of jail because they need to feed their habit. My friend from school is a drug addict and he takes his drugs in his house with needles he gets from the chemist, the problem is he now lives a shell of a life where everything he gets buys drugs and when he runs out he needs to turn to crime to get the rest of the money. by verdifer (Wed 5th May 2021 4:39pm)

We will never find out the numbers abused, board members friends with Jimmy Saville, hush payments in America, pictures found in Breeze Block Tower, 10 boys club coaches at last count, coaches friendly with other undesirable coaches from other rings, the list goes on and on. Not fined a penny or even had the decency to say sorry to the survivors - but a bit of rubbish upsets you. I find it to be very upsetting and annoyed the survivors never got and never will get their day in court to see justice served, I just guess that is the difference with people like you and me. • By telling lies you only water down any argument you have, the last football related stabbing was a season or 2 ago where we seen the outrage but it calmed down after it turned out it was celtic fans stabbing each other when the game was at parkhead, the 1 before that was when a gang of celtic fans attacked a man stabbing him and beating up his pensioner father that was the previous game heald at parkhead, the time before that was when a mob of celtic fans stormed a bus and stabbed a 10 year old with a bottle. In all of these cases the police could not catch anyone despite there being multiple people there. But don't let the truth get in the way of what you want to hear if it doesn't agree with your narrative. by verdifer (Mon 17th May 2021 11:27am)
  • I have no real problem with people protesting as we have yet to see any spike with gatherings and protests. BLM protests had no spike, Celtic fans at parkhead had no spike, rangers fans after winning league had no spike. Pollockshields has the high rate (or whatever it is) of Covid - well somewhere has to have it, if it wasn't them it would only be the place with 2nd highest, I really don't think anything is happening there that makes them unique. If the BLM protests never caused a spike then it would take something extreme to cause 1. My main problem is all these Social Justice Warriors and Social media folks who like to be offended who pick and choose when they are worried about a spike based on what the like and what they hate. by verdifer (Mon 17th May 2021 11:37am)

  • >Sturgeon told us this Indian strain is more virulent & the uptake of the jab in certain communities wasn’t as high as it should be. TBH I lost faith in the government and their so called experts ages ago. I'm not into conspiracies or any tin hat shit, but take this spike in Pollokshields, where do these numbers come from. Are the numbers based on someone getting a Covid test and it coming back positive or are the numbers based on someone phoning the doctor and saying they are unwell, in which the Doctor puts it down as Covid and tells them to stay home for 2 weeks. It's the same with the numbers at the start, they had these numbers but we have only had a decent Covid test for a few months. The other test was the 1 from China, the test where some ruler in Africa tested something like a Llama and a tomato and both came back positive, and China responded by saying we are using them wrong. How many people phoned into work the last year and said they had Covid symptoms for a 2 week holiday, or phoned the doctor and said they had symptoms knowing the Doctor would say you prob have Covid so stay indoors away from everyone. I remember phoning my work years ago for a week off work during the Swine Flu thing, so I'm not gonna criticize anyone who took 2 weeks. I don't know everything about the Palestine/Israel thing but if people want to protest about it then fair play to them, it's just those who pick and choose their outrage based on who they hate and who they don't hate that I have an issue with. by verdifer (Mon 17th May 2021 12:04pm)

  • Hate to take the wind out your sails but that article mentioned nothing about someone being killed and was based on a Tweet (You are actually using a Social Media Tweet as facts PMSL, in that case the Earth is flat and aliens are called greys and visit us), a person did die but the police said they weren't concerned (That was not in that article, a half arsed Google search and you will find it), so that means whoever died was unfortunate to suffer something like a heart attack etc etc, the article doesn't actually mention any stabbing as it says A&E was cleared for them happening (Daily Record PMSL)- in fact even a simple Google search would have returned no hits about stabbings. You could have at least made a half arsed attempt to read the article FFS, I skimmed it and was even able to pick up that it was a dramatic piece by the tabloids. And using the Daily Record as your fact PMSL LOL......... The Sunday Sport and Weekly Worldly News prints more accurate stories and they tend to run with the latest picture of Elvis. • It can't get it right as we are now stuck with an SNP council who actually made the Labour council before them look good, and that is some feat, as far as I'm aware they have pissed the money up against the wall that much that they can't open all the Libraries and Sports Centres. They claim this is to help with the pollution yet are determined to cause even more by turning every 2 lane road into a bus lane for the 2 or 3 buses that go use them every hour or put down those stupid looking rubber slugs so the both lanes can't be used, in fairness the young team up my way has had endless fun kicking them about. I stay next to Pollock and Braidcraft Road with the 2 lanes is a nightmare so good luck to anyone who uses that when everything opens back up in rush hour, I predict a queue a mile long or there about. But the laughable thing is that they have spent all this money making it a bus lane, but when you reach the roundabout the condition of the road is that bad that you need to turn left at the roundabout in first gear going no faster than 5mph. by verdifer (Tue 18th May 2021 12:02am)

  • Taking black bags is optional I believe and they are told not to do it, so if they take them then they are really doing someone a favour. As far as I'm aware the rules are that they are only allowed to take the wheelie bin and empty it and the lid has to be closed. I guess the only other option is to buy another green bin at 60/70 quid and you will have 2 to use. Or you can just find a neighbour who doesn't use much rubbish and toss it in his, be warned but some folks don't like you using their bin. by verdifer (Tue 18th May 2021 12:05am)

Not that long ago Polmadie Burn which runs into it was yellow and looked like something from a Simpsons episode, it was that bad environmental agencies started to investigate it, a few weeks ago they started looking into a white foam that seems to have appeared also. The boat at the transport museum is 1 of many bottlenecks, I have been there numerous times with the kids and it only got worse each time, it never got better as the rubbish is just piling up. If you were to fall into it they would take you to the hospital for a tetanus jag, pretty sure the only thing living in it now is the water rats, so to say it was clean before is either lack of knowledge and seeing it or just wanting to be mock offended. by verdifer (Tue 18th May 2021 9:31am)

  • Welcome to Glasgow. People try and push this everyone in Glasgow is great and it's a great place to be, and if you are lucky enough to have a decent job and move into 1 of the more upper class areas then this is true I believe. Oh and there is no point in confronting these people you speak about because they have this other Glasgow thing where they think they are in the right and you are wrong, how dare you stop them from getting pissed at 3am on a Monday morning - it's not their fault you have to work 5 hours later, in their mind it really is your fault. You could phone the police, if you get lucky they might breeze past and see you several hours or days later just to tell you there is nothing they can really do, but they will have a word with them if you like - so they can't do anything but they are willing to piss them off for you if you like, if the people are your neighbours then you could go to the local housing association who will be even less use than the hopeless police that you will speak to. A girl down my was was beat up by 2 guys, the next day they were standing in the street shouting at her friend threatening to beat her up while she was waiting on a taxi, the taxi arrived and the driver got out the car and got her in, he told her to phone the police and he would go as a witness for her. And surprise surprise the police said they couldn't do anything despite them threatening to beat her up in a street. We live in a city where Taxi drivers are willing to help people more than the police, I would even go as far to say I have seen Taxi drivers help more people than the police. by verdifer (Tue 18th May 2021 9:50am)

  • In the last few years it's sad to see that some areas in Glasgow have become no-go areas. Govanhill for example, I would not allow my daughter or wife to walk through there alone especially at night, my aunt stayed in the area for over 30 years and loved it, last year things go that bad she finally left and was heartbroken as the area meant so much to her, but she valued her safety more than memories. Some folks will tell you how some areas are improving, but fail to tell you that the reason they are improving is due to the areas being pulled down with the trash being moved elsewhere. I had a friend in the Gorbals from Poland who stayed their with his wife and child, more or less the same rubbish you are going through, but they were lucky as he got a decent job after Uni and his wife had a job so they were able to move out. The Gorbals area has improved, which seemed to coincide with the high flats where they stayed getting pulled down. Where I stay is classed as an OK area, but I won't park my car on the main road as there is no guarantee you will have windows in the morning or tyres that aren't stabbed, we have contacted the local MSP and police who have and will continue to do nothing. I know people who have given up owning a car as they weren't willing to pay for constant windows and tyres replacement every time a few drunk idiots decided to start a fight with their car. by verdifer (Tue 18th May 2021 11:04am)
  • The police if they come will chap their door, but you will be told to contact the council as it isn't the police area, the police or housing association speaking to them will in most cases just add flame to the fire where you are then left as a part time prisoner in your own home as you really don't want the awkwardness, hassle, or at worse the fear of bumping into them outside. Their is measures in place but I'm not even sure if they are laws or just council rules, but the council will come round and have a listen and will probably recommend speaking to your neighbour, oblivious to why you contacted them in the first place. They do have actions they can take but even if they do for some reason they seem reluctant to enforce them. I lived in Maryhill years ago and had multiple problems with the people who moved in above me in the flats, we contacted the housing association as getting a sleep most nights for work the next morning was impossible due to loud music, loud TV, running up and down their hall (they didn't seem to have any carpets), and with them selling smack we had constant druggies out in the landing every night as they would not go to their floor as the lifts had cameras, so they would go to the floor above and walk down to buy their drugs then walk down again to get the lift smoking their gear in the stairs on the way down, the buzzer display screen was broke at 1 point so all night I had druggies out their nut buzzing my house by mistake. Needless to say as time went on tensions got higher till it came to a point my wife's friends said these people are the dregs of society but their is loads of them and we decided just to move as it would be better than a gang of neds stabbing me. by verdifer (Tue 18th May 2021 12:13pm)

Bishopbriggs is a nice area and is that close you could walk to the city centre in a nice day so long as you have a decent fitness level. You can get a place there ranging from a 1 bedroom flat to a large fancy sandstone house. Are you Presbyterian and do you support Rangers, if the answer is yes to any of them then it's clear Hapless Hoomza won't like you and go onto his Social Media accounts and make it so, he will be backed up by the great minds like James Dornan, John "the braincell" Mason. by verdifer (Sun 30th May 2021 3:27pm)

  • Make it harder for cars so people are forced to take public transport, transport will do there thing where every week they add 10p to 20p onto a journey so by the end of the year a journey will cost stupid money, or you could get an overpriced Taxi and pay £5 to go to the end of the street. • I struggled for over 3 years with my dog as it is a fussy eater, a few months ago she emptied the bin all over the kitchen and made a real mess, bin food seems to be better than the bowl of food for some reason, I exploded and said to her "you have a full fucking bowl of food there, go and eat that fucking food" the rant had a few other "you do my head in" and numerous other swear words. As I was exploding she ran over to her bowl and ate all her food. Now when I put her food down I will say something like "eat and eat it the now" or "there's your dinner, get it ate" and she eats it. You could try being more forceful which could help, or you could try giving him treats when in the car so he associates the car with treats, get better treats such as cooked chicken to make it a bit more special as opposed to his normal treats. by verdifer (Sat 5th Jun 2021 11:41pm)

  • So in your mind a black person should be there purely for being black instead of a white person and this or these black people should be there purely because they are black. You don't really get racism do you, if you did you would probably stop being 1 yourself. by verdifer (Fri 11th Jun 2021 8:36pm)
  • I'm not trying to be a dick with the person, but in all honesty his view is racist. If I wanted a black person kicked away and a white person put in people would call me racist, and they would be correct in calling me racist because I would be racist as I'm wanting things based on skin colour and not skill, ability, etc etc. by verdifer (Fri 11th Jun 2021 8:52pm)
  • >You are being a huge dick, But at least I'm not being racist. by verdifer (Fri 11th Jun 2021 9:53pm)
  • Well if keeping diversity is the main thing then they will need more diverse folks. I'm gonna guess that there is no Asian folks on there either, they will need a transgender person, a gay person, someone who is non-binary along with the other 73 options, a single mother and a single father, a person from each of the major religions with each colour represented, don't think there is a disabled person there either, need some folks with mental issues but we need to make sure every colour and faith is represented. FFS we will be here all night trying to make this cafe diverse enough, I don't think it will make enough money to pay them all or even have enough room for them all to fit in the place. by verdifer (Fri 11th Jun 2021 10:03pm)

  • Don't move to the Wynford, I lived in the block of flats directly across from the police station about 20 years ago and the flats were lovely and had a good community feel to them. They started building new houses at the shithole down the road and tossed all the scummy cunts in the flats. Speaking to a few folks I have been told it is still the shithole CUBE housing created all those years ago. by verdifer (Wed 16th Jun 2021 11:35pm)
  • Don't quote me but I'm going to say no, and the cost to hire these pitches and that includes the council pitches are stupid. I used to take my daughter to grass roots at Nethercraigs and the coaches were saying none of the youth teams can afford the pitches so they need to join up with other youth teams and share the pitch, if you look at these pitches when busy you will notice they have a few different teams and use the width so they can fit 3 or 4 youth teams on at 1 time. Mosspark Primary school were told when they would have free access to Nethercraigs so they could start a school team, when they went to find out about it the council said they would need to pay and the headmistress felt more important things could be bought with the money. If you don't mind playing after 9ish then Nethercraigs don't lock the gates so you can go on there until it gets to dark. by verdifer (Wed 16th Jun 2021 11:42pm)

  • You're an idiot. In what way is it horrible? A person is looking for hair removal, people make a living doing hair removal, so long as the person looking for the hair removal has the money to pay the person doing the hair removal then they will have no problem removing the hair. The people removing the hair won't care if the person is gay, straight, trans, male, female, black, white etc etc. I don't really see how you can get offended or upset by that, if you want to send me some info about you I could say some stuff to offend and upset you and make you happy, that way you can be really upset and offended not WOKE look at me Faux Outrage offended. by verdifer (Thu 17th Jun 2021 9:44am)
  • Years ago Bellahouston Park had goals in it but they only painted the lines when it was being used which wasn't very often but they still had the goals up to use, pretty sure they had rugby.....whatever their version of the goals is. Nethercraigs has a big pitch with about 4 small enclosed pitches at the side of it, with Nethercraigs they always locked the main large gate but if you walked round the side there was an open gate at the half way line. by verdifer (Thu 17th Jun 2021 9:48am)
  • Seriously, you are an idiot, there is nothing wrong with the comment. When you reach the point where you start wanting to get offended for others and start start ignoring facts and common sense to be offended then you have reached a higher level of stupidity. by verdifer (Thu 17th Jun 2021 11:05am)

  • Over the last few years Govan has seen a bit of an upgrade, still has what I would class as bad bits but it's not the kind of place where I would be fearful or looking over my shoulder as I walked through at night. If you go there just keep yourself to yourself and so long as you don't bother anyone they shouldn't bother you. The pubs are slop-house dives and I would avoid them at all costs. by verdifer (Mon 28th Jun 2021 1:08am)

  • Back in the old days the advice given was "buy a cat" and my advice would be "buy a cat". Girl in my wifes work had problems with mice, she bought a cat and it takes the mice a while to catch on but now she gets the occasional mouse which has strayed in but it has more or less got rid of the problem. When I was younger I used to stay at a little block of houses next to the old railway at Ibrox and scrapyard, every house had at least 1 cat to deal with the rats. The best other thing you can do is leave nothing they can eat about which includes worktops and floors, it might be a pain in the arse but running a hoover over the kitchen and wiping down the worktops, they don't need much to eat with a digestive biscuit prob being enough to feed an army of mice. by verdifer (Mon 5th Jul 2021 9:55am)

Based on your logic (giggles) then anyone who supports the Libyan guy who killed all the kids in Manchester is OK, because of the shit Libya went through with the West and the shit Muslim countries went through.
