  • Just a heads up humanists tend to charge about £400 for their services + the legal paperwork (an additional £85 or so i think). by 663475 (Fri 4th Jan 2019 3:26pm)
  • There will also be ID checks in place so that your name matches the ticket so it sounds like this gig will be extra vigilant. by 663475 (Mon 7th Jan 2019 2:10pm)
  • How do you know a car is using ringo, do you have a device that scans the license plate or do you have to enter it manually? Have you ever felt in danger from a member of the public for issuing a ticket? Is there much enforcement in the East End? by 663475 (Wed 9th Jan 2019 1:44pm)
  • I'm just back from Belfast and was staggered at how clean and litter free the city centre was. I did notice signs all over saying it was an £80 spot fine if you were caught littering so maybe that was the deterrent. it makes me sad seeing how little people seem to take pride in their surroundings :( by 663475 (Mon 14th Jan 2019 1:46pm)
  • Nice shot, do you have to pay to get to the top? by 663475 (Tue 15th Jan 2019 10:25am)
  • Theres an abandoned house on Inchconnachan island on Loch Lomond. Someone has drawn a huge mural on it too, and apparently there was wallabies! [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inchconnachan](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inchconnachan) by 663475 (Mon 21st Jan 2019 2:30pm)

  • If its a Saturday or Sunday afternoon I'd love to help, a whatsapp group could be easiest for organising? Also there are probably some charities who would be willing to donate bags and gloves etc. by 663475 (Wed 30th Jan 2019 2:30pm)

  • Which clubs offer Lift it, I've not seen it before and it sounds great! by 663475 (Fri 1st Feb 2019 11:09am)
  • Mamta is probably the most skilled instructor but she is brutal too, often she forces people into poses physically and the class can be quite advanced. E.g. she will show a pose and then when the class does it literally no one can get into it properly. She doesnt encourage blocks too which i find can be detrimental. She is so good for differing lessons and changing things up and her workshops are useful too. by 663475 (Fri 1st Feb 2019 11:07am)
  • You should start with narrowing down your local clubs and what classes are on offer at the times to suit you, the app is very good for this. I go to 2-3 classes a week as well as swimming and I feel i get my moneys worth. Yoga is for all abilities, usually the instructor will ask if anyone is new and they will have a few words with you and tell you how to take it easy. A good instructor will give varying options for abilities. There's loads of yoga instructors that do glasgow club, PM me and I can tell you my favourites. Also "G cycle" is a great class workout, again depends on the instructor but its only 45 mins and you always leave feeling better than when you arrived. Well done on wanting to do better, you will feel amazing for it. by 663475 (Fri 1st Feb 2019 11:05am)
  • Music is usually really catchy too. I used to love BB but since doing yoga more I find it quite frantic and fast paced compared to yoga lol. Also the instructor doesnt have time to correct people so beginners should be hyper aware of what they are doing so they dont injure themselves. by 663475 (Fri 1st Feb 2019 11:11am)
  • That sucks, so sorry for you. Its so demotivating but all you can do is keep trying. by 663475 (Fri 1st Feb 2019 11:23am)

  • I love this idea. I tend to go ask a coffee shop or restaurant or wherever if they can fill my bottle up, usually I dont get attitude for it. Side note, Glasgow tap water is so good! by 663475 (Tue 5th Feb 2019 11:33am)

  • Thanks, any idea which department? Last time I spoke to them about bins I was on hold for 55 mins, and the myCC app only has options to make an appointment about council tax, licensing, benefits, marriage, births, deaths and European passports :\\ by 663475 (Mon 18th Feb 2019 11:54am)
  • This is super helpful thanks. Unfortunately the enquiry form doesnt work on the website but its a step in the right direction. Thanks for your help. by 663475 (Mon 18th Feb 2019 12:27pm)
  • Just to give an update it looks like its not council or network rail owned so I will have to go to the land registry to find out. Will probably contact MSP too for advice. by 663475 (Mon 18th Feb 2019 4:34pm)
  • Yeah my stomach churns at the thought of having to contact the council. You can guarantee that anything that can't be done by the app will be a nightmare. Good luck getting through! by 663475 (Mon 18th Feb 2019 4:33pm)
  • Thanks, so it doesn't seem to be council owned or owned by network rail so it looks like I will have to go to the land registry. by 663475 (Mon 18th Feb 2019 4:32pm)

  • Better to hand it to the bank in the first instance, I left mine on a bus and got a phonecall from my branch about 20 mins later. Some kind soul had taken all the cash and handed the rest into the bank. by 663475 (Wed 6th Mar 2019 10:36am)

  • Peasano is my fav right now, however it's very noisy and not the place to go if you want to get to know someone as you can end up sharing a table and its quite a rushed experience. Worth it for the food though, and super affordable. by 663475 (Fri 17th May 2019 9:55am)
  • I saw him a couple of years ago at a tiny venue (had no idea who he was), and every few songs he was asking for followers on social media, so it could have snowballed from that strategy. by 663475 (Tue 21st May 2019 9:31am)

  • Pretty much every Glasgow Life yoga class i've been to is purely exercise, apart from a 5 min lie down at the end. Some instructors do guided meditation with it, others just let you chill and do your own thing. If you pm me i can recommend particular instructors and tell you which ones to avoid. by 663475 (Mon 3rd Jun 2019 10:43am)

  • I love Tollcross - the park is beautiful, its close to M8 and M74, theres good shopping with the Forge, plenty of parking around and people seem to just mind their business. Theres a lidl close by and 4 glasgow club gyms nearby. (Tollcross pool, Emirates arena, Haghill and whitehill pool. Also its really affordable. I have never had any issues getting a dentist or dr appointment which is a blessing. The only downside i can think of is litter and on celtic game days parking is a bit busy. Theres plenty of development happening with new flats being built so I think in a few years it will be desirable and houses are already about 3/4 x what they were worth on zoopla in the early noughties from the postcodes i checked. by 663475 (Thu 4th Jul 2019 11:52am)

  • I'm sure if you look long enough on air bnb you'll find a flat thats got a big kitchen/living room. Try areas like Dennistoun and finniston where the flats are massive old tenement flats. by 663475 (Fri 20th Sep 2019 10:14am)

Then I ordered something off ebay which didn't arrive, saw through the tracking no that 'a card had been left behind' at my property at a certain time and date, pulled up my Ring camera and saw absolutely no movement the entire morning of the date so i finally had proof. I think one of the reasons is because some lights take forever to go back to green again (eg Parkhead cross) so no wonder people are racing through them. by 663475 (Wed 29th Jan 2020 3:23pm)

  • From r/CoronavirusUK " Shetland is now infected with Covid-19 I’m so angry with these morons. A couple decided to go Northern Italy for a holiday last week, got infected and took the virus back with them. They didn’t self quarantine. Instead they threw a massive party. Then their son went out partying to the public bars. Now the local authorities up here can’t tell how many people have it. So now even the most remote part of the UK has been infected. Even our supermarkets are empty. " This was from 9 March, scary to think there's now 24 from this. by 663475 (Fri 20th Mar 2020 10:06am)

  • Hi, if you go to the Riverside Museum (well worth a visit!) the cafe there has lots of options and a easily signposted menu. Lots of places have been mentioned already that I go to, Bread Meats Bread is one of my favourite places - their GF bun is decent and so many sides are GF. If you get stuck you'll find the usual chains which are good for us - nandos, wagamamas etc. Stack and Still do vegan GF pancakes which are tasty and they're clued up on CC. Viva Brazil too if you like meat. Catch fish and chips in the west end is an incredible chippy with a separate fryer for GF. I hope you have a great time! by 663475 (Thu 23rd Sep 2021 10:48am)

  • Omg that reminds me of a time in Glasgow Green when I was filming an interview with someone, with a big camera and microphone so it was obvious what was happening. We'd picked somewhere quiet but this middle aged woman and her terrier kept circling us and she was throwing the ball for the dog and she kept calling after it. It was so distracting and the mic picked up everything. Looking back she probably wanted to be included in B roll but this annoying dog kept disrupting us and the fucker lifted its leg on a crate of equipment and the woman just laughed!! Dog owners like that are probably the "breeders and their crotchfruit" equivalent of parents. by 663475 (Sat 20th Nov 2021 12:42pm)

They said that because of the restrictions they only have 50% of the appointment space and it "wouldnt be fair" to private patients if they treated NHS patients. • Afaik its a shit deal for the businesses as companies like groupon/itison etc take a 50% fee - so a small salon who is already giving a discount ends up only taking a fraction of the voucher cost. Which explains why the experience can be shitty. What I try to do is see a deal I like, then ring the place directly and see if they will just give me the deal at the price without going through isiton. Quite often the hotels say no and to book through the voucher provider. by 663475 (Mon 5th Dec 2022 10:11am)

  • Sorry you're going through this, I had recently had to go through the process with an in-law who refused to believe anything was wrong so it took a long time to get them to the GP. The first step is getting them to a GP who should perform some simple memory tasks with them and have a chat with you. If they refuse to go you can ask the GP to invite them to attend the clinic for "a check up" or something else just to get them through the door. Once the GP has seen what they need then they may suggest an MRI scan (long wait for this) and a social worker type person will visit the premises too. Its quite a long slog, once they get on the medication then they calm down a bit. Alzheimer's Scotland are very helpful if you give them a ring, theres quite a lot of resources online too. Subs like r/AgingParents r/AlzheimersSupport r/dementia are super helpful too. Good luck by 663475 (Thu 19th Jan 2023 11:11am)
