  • Thanks very much :) by GutterShots (Tue 8th Jan 2019 3:56pm)
  • Cheers! by GutterShots (Tue 8th Jan 2019 3:56pm)
  • Thanks! :) by GutterShots (Tue 8th Jan 2019 3:56pm)
  • Just accurate. by GutterShots (Tue 8th Jan 2019 3:56pm)
  • Cheers! by GutterShots (Tue 8th Jan 2019 3:56pm)
  • I leave no head unmessed by GutterShots (Tue 8th Jan 2019 3:55pm)
  • Oddly that’s not the trick... You just need the light coming from the right direction and a lack of wind. So, not too far off the mark. by GutterShots (Wed 9th Jan 2019 11:02am)
  • Thanks very much for this! Naw it’s definitely Strathbungo, on the east side but only just. Was looking at offering 5% over so that sounds (hopefully) right. I know there are 6 other people who indicated interest so who knows what’ll happen 😣 by GutterShots (Sun 13th Jan 2019 6:18pm)
  • How does that last bit you mentioned work - was it just that the bank was willing to lend you more? I’m a first time buyer and I don’t know all the ins and outs of the process! Sounds like everything turned out well for you in the end, here’s hoping I’ll be able to say the same! by GutterShots (Sun 13th Jan 2019 6:54pm)
  • Sadly it has gone to closing, but I’ll keep this in mind for my next attempt! Thanks! by GutterShots (Sun 13th Jan 2019 11:04pm)
  • Thanks! Unfortunately it’s gone to a closing date but I’m getting good tips for my next attempt if this doesn’t pan out by GutterShots (Sun 13th Jan 2019 11:04pm)
  • Thanks very much for all of this. I didn’t know about not noting interest - that’s a good tip! I will take this all on board! (And yes it’s tenements I’m looking at :) ) by GutterShots (Sun 13th Jan 2019 11:03pm)
  • Aye I’ve figured that bit out, it’s all very stupid as far as I can tell. Why ask for offers over thousands of £ lower than you would ever ever consider? Tricksy bastards. Anyway, I’m from Toronto. And I don’t understand buying property there either. The difference is I can actually afford it here! 😃 by GutterShots (Mon 14th Jan 2019 8:13am)
  • I completely agree. Thanks! by GutterShots (Mon 14th Jan 2019 2:31pm)
  • Have you ever lived there? by GutterShots (Mon 4th Feb 2019 9:02pm)
  • I expect you’re right about that timescale. Hard to know, having no experience of such things! by GutterShots (Mon 4th Feb 2019 9:08pm)
  • Not in it just to turn a profit, but it does make sense to buy a home that might go up in value in case I decide to move one day. I don’t think that deserves castigation. I agree that a lot of opinions seems to be racially driven which is part of why I’m asking for input. I currently stay nearby (Strathbungo) but the difference in price on the other side of Pollokshaws Road is too pronounced to dismiss. by GutterShots (Mon 4th Feb 2019 9:47pm)
  • Good to hear! That’s the bit I’ve mostly been looking at, I’d prefer to be closer to Queen’s Park than Govanhill Park. But I’m trying not to be so narrow in my search! by GutterShots (Mon 4th Feb 2019 9:51pm)
  • Aye I’m looking for a home, not an investment as such. I’m in Strathbungo just now (renting) and can’t afford what I want here! Thus the dilemma. Thanks for the links, I’m having a look at most things in the area just now! Definitely lots of people who say it’s awful but an equal and growing number of people agreeing that it might just be alright, and getting better. Artistic types are usually the precursor to gentrification, the bastards. 💁‍♀️ by GutterShots (Mon 4th Feb 2019 9:50pm)
  • That’s what I’m trying to bear in mind! I’ll drop you a line :) by GutterShots (Mon 4th Feb 2019 11:00pm)
  • Hah yeah there is also that massive uncertainty. I’m trying to just get on with things! by GutterShots (Mon 4th Feb 2019 11:00pm)
  • I’m well aware of this, I’m one of them too. by GutterShots (Tue 5th Feb 2019 8:57am)
  • Aye I think the close is a big indicator - hoping to find a building that’s mostly owners living in. To be fair I had more folk piss in my garden living in the west end than I’ve ever had elsewhere! by GutterShots (Tue 5th Feb 2019 10:43am)
  • Aw it’s a shame you already sold yours - that’s exactly what I’m trying to find. I love the old tenements but can’t afford a dining kitchen elsewhere! Thanks very much for your input here :) by GutterShots (Tue 5th Feb 2019 10:42am)
  • Thanks for this! by GutterShots (Tue 5th Feb 2019 10:41am)
  • THANK YOU for this. I’ve been trying to find statistics but could only see the last month everywhere I looked. This is very helpful 👍 by GutterShots (Tue 5th Feb 2019 11:19am)
  • Cheers :) by GutterShots (Tue 5th Feb 2019 1:02pm)
  • Why were you cynical about it in the first place? I’m curious. Or do you just mean you thought it’d be shite? It really is very festive, and such a good community feel to it! by GutterShots (Sun 24th Feb 2019 5:34pm)
  • Haha! I see. Well I’m glad you ended up enjoying it :) by GutterShots (Sun 24th Feb 2019 6:24pm)
  • Anyone know if this includes tenement bins? by GutterShots (Wed 6th Mar 2019 4:42pm)
  • Ughh that’s awful. The blue bins in my building are *always* overflowing. I even tried to order more through the council website but so far, no dice. It’s bloody annoying. by GutterShots (Wed 6th Mar 2019 6:44pm)
  • Ah thanks, will do by GutterShots (Thu 7th Mar 2019 12:45pm)
  • Haha very timely! by GutterShots (Thu 7th Mar 2019 12:45pm)
  • Rum Barber in the west end is great 👍 by GutterShots (Tue 12th Mar 2019 1:17am)
  • Hmm! I’m a woman so I was impressed they’d even cut my hair to begin with (most barber shops won’t) and it was £20 for the best haircut I’ve ever had by GutterShots (Wed 13th Mar 2019 1:35pm)
  • Just in case you wouldn’t see it otherwise, check out the comment below by GutterShots (Fri 5th Apr 2019 8:15pm)
  • Oh brilliant, this is exactly what I was looking for! Thanks very much :) by GutterShots (Fri 5th Apr 2019 8:15pm)
  • I do the same but I like to *think* I’m hardcore. However I haven’t tested this theory in a long time so it might take me some time to toughen up! by GutterShots (Fri 5th Apr 2019 9:42pm)
  • Aye that’s the idea! by GutterShots (Sat 6th Apr 2019 12:05pm)
  • I know, it’s the regularity of it that makes it even worse. Mind you Scottish beaches aren’t much better after a nice day. They need to police the hell out of littering for a while to put the fear into folk. by GutterShots (Sat 20th Apr 2019 4:34pm)
  • I suppose all the eejits are either in jail or still recovering from yesterday... by GutterShots (Sat 20th Apr 2019 5:37pm)
  • Haha she’s perfect by GutterShots (Sat 20th Apr 2019 5:37pm)
  • Aye true enough! Queen’s Park is pretty civilised though not so empty by GutterShots (Sat 20th Apr 2019 7:23pm)
  • Hard to know. There are so many causes that it’s overwhelming to even think of where you’d begin trying to change that culture. by GutterShots (Sat 20th Apr 2019 11:14pm)
  • Oh that’s a very good call! by GutterShots (Sat 20th Apr 2019 11:13pm)
  • Aye and I’ve seen a ned get arrested for punching one of the horses in the face. by GutterShots (Sat 20th Apr 2019 11:15pm)
  • When I first moved here (15 years ago) it was completely fine. I don’t even bother going near it on a nice day anymore! by GutterShots (Sun 21st Apr 2019 9:37am)
  • Aye they’d need to be verrrry on the ball to see who is leaving what but it would be a great start. How do we make that happen? by GutterShots (Sun 21st Apr 2019 10:41pm)
  • Does anyone know what actually happened or were there no witnesses? by GutterShots (Fri 24th May 2019 7:45pm)
  • Ah jeez. That’s horrific. And the helmet just lying there 😣 by GutterShots (Sat 25th May 2019 10:02am)
  • Oh you did well there! I wonder whether the relatively cheaper properties are going further over the home report value, because that seems really good for the area! Did it go to closing? by GutterShots (Thu 13th Jun 2019 11:23am)
  • Well I know for certain that at least 10 other folk are putting offers in, so it’ll definitely go well over the home report. It’s just *how much* over that’s the question. What a bloody frustrating process this is! by GutterShots (Thu 13th Jun 2019 11:22am)
  • You’re absolutely right about things going to closing date, but unfortunately the area I’m looking in and the budget I’ve got means that every single property I’ve viewed has gone to closing, even if I’ve jumped in with a hefty offer early on. It’s maddening! So yeah, I reckon I’ll end up paying more than it’s worth just to bloody get something 😣 £10k over doesn’t seem that crazy, I’m looking at more like £15 though by GutterShots (Thu 13th Jun 2019 11:20am)
  • When was that? by GutterShots (Thu 13th Jun 2019 12:49pm)
  • Ugh. It’s ridiculous. At some point surely the actual value will have to catch up! by GutterShots (Thu 13th Jun 2019 12:45pm)
  • What! How recently was this? I suppose it depends which flats you’re looking at as well - I’m really particular and most of what I’ve seen ends up being hotly contested. I’m looking closer to Crosshill by GutterShots (Thu 13th Jun 2019 12:45pm)
  • Yes I am definitely keeping that in mind! Depressingly I have been unable to speak to any of the owners of the flats I’ve looked at since they’ve all been done by estate agents. And all of them go immediately to a closing date no matter how quickly you get an offer in! I think you really have to luck out at the minute to end up getting something for less than 10% over by GutterShots (Thu 13th Jun 2019 12:54pm)
  • Aye I’m set on the area - people talk a lot of shit about it but I think it’s on the up. I viewed a place in Albert Road that’s actually my backup if I don’t get this current dream flat, which is more towards Crosshill. Sadly it seems people are getting carried away all over the place in this area right now. It makes it so hard to know what to do, especially if it seems like the perfect place! by GutterShots (Thu 13th Jun 2019 12:52pm)
  • You bought just before it all went mad I guess. It’s changed a lot even just in the past year! by GutterShots (Thu 13th Jun 2019 12:50pm)
  • Ah! Yep things have changed a lot since then. I’ve been looking for 1.5 years and even in that time it’s gone mad. The number of people vying for each flat I’ve seen is out of control! I had to wait in a queue at a viewing yesterday. What is this, London? by GutterShots (Thu 13th Jun 2019 12:55pm)
  • Yep, definitely seems to be the way of things. I mean I’m looking for somewhere to live but it doesn’t hurt for it to be a solid investment, too by GutterShots (Thu 13th Jun 2019 1:01pm)
  • Sounds like another lucky buy. I despair of finding such a deal 😣 by GutterShots (Thu 13th Jun 2019 1:57pm)
  • Aw man, well done! That’s the dream for buying a flat. Bloody estate agents make everything cost so much more! by GutterShots (Thu 13th Jun 2019 3:14pm)
  • Solid advice, thank you! The frustration is hard to ignore though by GutterShots (Thu 13th Jun 2019 3:13pm)
  • I expect you’re right. It’s maddening. I wish more people would sell privately! by GutterShots (Thu 13th Jun 2019 3:12pm)
  • You’re completely right, it’s a bloody nightmare for first time buyers. Especially being single, I’m hard pressed to be able to compete with literally any other buyer out there by GutterShots (Thu 13th Jun 2019 3:16pm)
  • Ooft that sounds like a nightmare. Yeah the one I’m looking at is mostly tenants, but two flats to a floor and most of the tenants have been there for years. Close is in good nick which is always a big indicator! by GutterShots (Thu 13th Jun 2019 3:15pm)
  • I actually did ask all the top floor flats in my current street if anyone was looking to sell, but no takers! Maybe if this offer is refused I’ll try something similar elsewhere by GutterShots (Thu 13th Jun 2019 3:26pm)
  • Ugh I know by GutterShots (Thu 13th Jun 2019 3:25pm)
  • Thanks for this. I feel like this is a risk when buying property in general, but yeah pinning hopes on Govanhill’s regeneration is perhaps a bit riskier. Still gonna do it though seeing as I can’t afford anywhere else that I actually want to live! Close enough to the bits of the south side I genuinely love. :) by GutterShots (Thu 13th Jun 2019 3:58pm)
  • I *have* been looking at all of those things (with the exception of tatty closes - the building needs to be in at least decent repair or it can get seriously expensive down the line. Also having neighbours who give a shit is worth a lot of money). You’d be surprised how many people are interested in flats that need work! I actually prefer them as I’d rather do things up the way I want. I think you underestimate the number of 30-something, often single, not-terribly-well-off people who are trying very hard to get a foot in the door in this area by GutterShots (Thu 13th Jun 2019 4:03pm)
  • Yeah I’m gonna end up overpaying I think. *but* to me it’ll be worth it to secure the place, since I’ve been looking forever and it’s exactly what I want. I figure what’s a few k in the grand scheme of things (assuming I get it) - even though it feels like a massive difference right now by GutterShots (Thu 13th Jun 2019 4:00pm)
  • Haha well that’s exactly what I’ve done. I’ll let you know how it turns out, in case you ever decide to give it a go by GutterShots (Thu 13th Jun 2019 4:05pm)
  • Thanks, I’m glad you found your perfect place! Sadly putting an offer in even on the same bloody day a property is listed doesn’t seem to help these days. I’m doing everything the way I’ve been told but every single property has still gone to a closing date (which is almost always within a week of going up for sale). It’s crazy. by GutterShots (Thu 13th Jun 2019 4:05pm)
  • Wow! That’s a definite steal. Trouble is you could hang about for 20 years waiting for an opportunity like that. Even in 1.5 years I’ve just watched prices in the south side rise and rise and I can’t save at the same rate prices are going up, so, I’m trying to get in now by GutterShots (Thu 13th Jun 2019 4:23pm)
  • Well as I’ve been told approximate 25,000 times so far, what’s for ye won’t go by ye! Sounds like you did well in the end. I’m not in dire straits to get out of my current flat so I suppose I should relax a bit, but, this particular flat is really ideal. I’ve just got for it with everything I’ve got. We’ll see what happens! by GutterShots (Thu 13th Jun 2019 4:28pm)
  • All of this is very true, thanks for the advice! I have looked at a few places that have needed a lot of work (I have no issue with that) but none of them have been what I want, space-wise. I’m particular about the space and only want a top floor, so I’m already limiting myself quite a lot! I guess I’m willing to pay a bit over the odds to continue being so particular :) by GutterShots (Thu 13th Jun 2019 4:27pm)
  • Oh the actual mortgage will be completely fine, it’s really only the money over the value that’s the initial issue. But once that’s paid it’ll be very affordable indeed. If I ended up losing some of that extra cash I pay, well, that’s just a chance I have to take I guess! by GutterShots (Thu 13th Jun 2019 4:25pm)
  • Thanks! I’m that wound up I probably won’t sleep till I’ve heard back. For my own sake I hope the market *doesn’t* die down, but hopefully you’ll manage when the time comes! by GutterShots (Thu 13th Jun 2019 5:34pm)
  • Aye, but I’d rather that than someone stomping about above me all the time by GutterShots (Thu 13th Jun 2019 5:33pm)
  • I don’t know that it’s cool. What it is, is still sort-of-affordable in a part of the city that’s pricing first time buyers out. So now there’s a ton of competition! by GutterShots (Thu 13th Jun 2019 5:37pm)
  • There are already 5 offers in, so... 😣 by GutterShots (Thu 13th Jun 2019 5:36pm)
  • Sounds like you came out alright in the end then! Yeah I know too many people who are “mortgage-poor” and I have no desire to be one of them by GutterShots (Thu 13th Jun 2019 5:35pm)
  • Thanks! by GutterShots (Thu 13th Jun 2019 5:54pm)
  • Thanks very much! by GutterShots (Thu 13th Jun 2019 8:44pm)
  • Oh, I know it! It’s frustrating but I’m well aware of my good fortune :) by GutterShots (Thu 13th Jun 2019 9:52pm)
  • I’ve no plans to start a family or anything so, living in a flat for at least the next 10-20 years is definitely on the cards since I love it. Honestly I think the valuation on these properties has yet to catch up with the actual market value. And if I end up making a loss, well - it’s an equal risk waiting to the point that I’m priced out of the area. 🤷‍♀️ by GutterShots (Fri 14th Jun 2019 8:05am)
  • In Ibrox?! I’m surprised to hear that - I had no idea it had had such a boom. Are you happy with your purchase though? by GutterShots (Fri 14th Jun 2019 8:27am)
  • That’s exactly what I did... and I got it! I was worried I’d gone overboard but it turns out I was only £400 over the next nearest offer. Which I’m sure they weren’t supposed to tell me. Yay! by GutterShots (Fri 14th Jun 2019 4:04pm)
  • That’s the dream! I haven’t met a single seller. All viewings seem to be done by estate agents now, so no chance to charm people or explain your situation. It’s a bit lame. by GutterShots (Fri 14th Jun 2019 4:03pm)
  • Just found out that I got it!! And apparently only by £400, so I was well justified in my high offer. I’ll edit the post with an update :) by GutterShots (Fri 14th Jun 2019 4:05pm)
  • Thank you thank you! 😊😊😊 by GutterShots (Fri 14th Jun 2019 5:20pm)
  • Hahaha thanks! Luckily I’ve been renting unfurnished for ages so I won’t even have furniture to buy anyway 😃 by GutterShots (Fri 14th Jun 2019 5:20pm)
  • Thanks for this. Who did you use? by GutterShots (Sat 15th Jun 2019 8:11am)
  • Oh that’s good to know! Thanks! by GutterShots (Sat 15th Jun 2019 9:01am)
  • Cheers! by GutterShots (Sat 15th Jun 2019 10:51am)
  • That’s really good to know by GutterShots (Sat 15th Jun 2019 1:53pm)
  • Oh brilliant. Thanks very much for this! by GutterShots (Wed 19th Jun 2019 4:02pm)
  • So I’ve heard! I’ve stayed here 15 years and I’ve never managed to go 😢 by GutterShots (Wed 19th Jun 2019 5:50pm)
  • That’s a shame! Maybe I can gather together a reddit Glasgow club by GutterShots (Wed 19th Jun 2019 6:30pm)
  • Right who’s in by GutterShots (Wed 19th Jun 2019 9:23pm)
  • Okay we need more people that this you guys by GutterShots (Thu 20th Jun 2019 12:50pm)
  • Aw man you’re crushing the dream. I’ll be waiting at 00:01 on July 1. I’ll get us ALL in! by GutterShots (Thu 20th Jun 2019 10:16pm)
  • Oh aye? And is it easy enough to find folk to fit them once they’re here? by GutterShots (Sat 22nd Jun 2019 12:29pm)
  • I feel they took a space that had a lot of potential and made it uglier than it already was. The benches with the weird metal clasps on the side look like electrical boxes or something. With the amount of money it must have cost they could have done something much less stark. Regardless I agree there should be more going on there events-wise... but even then, it could have been put together differently with that in mind by GutterShots (Sat 3rd Aug 2019 10:56pm)
  • Thanks! :) by GutterShots (Sun 4th Aug 2019 1:02pm)
  • Yep I figured that’s what those clasps are for but they could’ve put in almost any other kind of actual bench and it wouldn’t have been a problem! You’ve got to wonder who the council hires to design these spaces. by GutterShots (Sun 4th Aug 2019 1:02pm)
  • Yeah I don’t understand it. There was a couple sitting out there the other day actually facing all the rubbish and having a casual drink. Wtf. It’s not the one you’re talking about... I don’t think it’s very uncommon in the area. Just so bloody unnecessary! by GutterShots (Fri 9th Aug 2019 12:01pm)
  • Fat Face, while it has a stupid name, also has loads of really nice and good-quality clothes without logos or nonsense on them. If that’s what you’re after :) by GutterShots (Sun 11th Aug 2019 9:53am)
  • Not exclusively, I swear. Definitely lots of their stuff can be that way but their men’s section isn’t geared to middle aged women at all. Surprisingly. by GutterShots (Sun 11th Aug 2019 11:23am)
  • Excellent, confusing is what I’m going for by GutterShots (Sun 8th Sep 2019 8:36pm)
  • Thanks for this! Unfortunately at the moment I don’t have enough other stuff to warrant a full market stall, 😣 by GutterShots (Sun 10th Nov 2019 5:59pm)
  • Cheers! by GutterShots (Sun 10th Nov 2019 6:24pm)
  • Thanks! by GutterShots (Sun 10th Nov 2019 6:23pm)
  • That’s a good idea, cheers! by GutterShots (Sun 10th Nov 2019 6:23pm)
  • Ooh thanks! I'm glad you like it. Hoping to release a new one soon as I barely get to scratch the surface of what I shoot in a year with my calendars :) by GutterShots (Sun 10th Nov 2019 10:06pm)
  • That's brilliant, thanks kindly! by GutterShots (Sun 10th Nov 2019 10:05pm)
  • I do, but it’s hard to reach much of an audience that way! It’s just on Etsy. https://www.etsy.com/uk/AhMadeIt/listing/743801133/glasgow-from-the-gutter-13-month-square by GutterShots (Mon 11th Nov 2019 10:50am)
  • Ooh brilliant! Thanks for the support, I hope he loves it 😊 by GutterShots (Mon 11th Nov 2019 4:08pm)
  • That’s brilliant, thanks very much! I’ll get them out to you shortly :) by GutterShots (Mon 11th Nov 2019 8:21pm)
  • Also a very good idea. Clearly this stuff isn’t my forte. by GutterShots (Mon 11th Nov 2019 9:10pm)
  • Well you’re absolutely right... that’s actually the only shop it’s in 😁 by GutterShots (Mon 11th Nov 2019 10:05pm)
  • I’m not, but I will be shortly! Cheers! by GutterShots (Tue 12th Nov 2019 6:34pm)
  • I suspect that calendar would be more difficult to sell by GutterShots (Tue 12th Nov 2019 6:34pm)
  • Even if you got the postal ballot you can just bring it to the polling statiin before 10. by GutterShots (Thu 12th Dec 2019 8:02pm)
  • A good day for it! by GutterShots (Sat 18th Jan 2020 6:30pm)
  • I do! I’m also planning to do the other glasshouses in the city. My shop is here: https://ahmadeit.bigcartel.com/ Or feel free to DM me if you have something particular in mind :) I’ll probably do a simplified version as well. by GutterShots (Thu 25th Jun 2020 2:43pm)
  • Thanks! by GutterShots (Thu 25th Jun 2020 2:42pm)
  • I’ve only just started one - https://ahmadeit.bigcartel.com/ :) by GutterShots (Thu 25th Jun 2020 2:42pm)
  • Thanks very much! I’m always happy to take commissions as well, just for future reference 😊 by GutterShots (Thu 25th Jun 2020 4:02pm)
  • Oh thanks! I’m glad you like it :) by GutterShots (Thu 25th Jun 2020 4:44pm)
  • Yep, it includes all of that. Then there are obviously one-offs like gutter cleaning etc but it’s honestly always something! I’ve just managed to get a hold of the guy who did the glass replacement and asked for a quote. He said £65. Some markup! by GutterShots (Mon 29th Jun 2020 1:04pm)
  • James Gibb. They’re awful, even their customer service is terrible by GutterShots (Mon 29th Jun 2020 2:48pm)
  • Ah trading standards, that’s who to go to! Thanks! That’s ridiculous about the fence. I’d love to go unfactored but I don’t know how to contact the other owners in my block, most of the flats are rentals by GutterShots (Mon 29th Jun 2020 2:48pm)
  • So is the factor’s markup included in the supplier’s invoice and then handed back to them or charged where you can see it? Because my factor says they don’t charge any commission etc on repairs but obviously someone is getting a lot of extra money here. by GutterShots (Mon 29th Jun 2020 2:56pm)
  • Hmm that’s good to know, but I should still be able to request evidence of why and how they chose their contractor to begin with. The fact that they had an invoice directly from the glazier (not from a general contractor) indicates to me that there isn’t a repairs & maintenance contract. I’ve challenged them so we’ll see what happens! And to reply to an earlier question, the quote I had for £125 is also including the labour. by GutterShots (Mon 29th Jun 2020 4:54pm)
  • Haha well shit. I contacted advice.scot and they were great - the factoring code of conduct requires that they have paperwork about why/how they chose the contractor and/or proof of competing quotes, and if they can’t show it then they can be found in breach of contract and potentially be made to pay compensation. Worth a try. We’ll see what they say! by GutterShots (Mon 29th Jun 2020 4:51pm)
  • Yep it is. My fees are way higher than anyone else’s that I know! I’m going to try to get everyone to agree to switch to GHA by GutterShots (Mon 29th Jun 2020 6:02pm)
  • Thanks guys - I will look into this! Tricky when it’s not a lot of owner-occupied flats but there must be a way by GutterShots (Tue 30th Jun 2020 2:03pm)
  • aye and shite as well! by GutterShots (Tue 30th Jun 2020 2:05pm)
  • Hm that’s a good point about timescales. I just don’t understand how the same company could charge them £255 and quote me £125. That’s what really gets me! - edit: just realised I didn’t update my original post. I eventually got in touch with the “company” who did the work (literally just a guy) and asked for a quote for exactly the same repair. £125. So maybe it’s down to him, not them? by GutterShots (Tue 30th Jun 2020 2:05pm)
  • Thanks for this. From everything I’ve heard going through GHA seems to be the best way forward. Fingers crossed I can get it sorted! by GutterShots (Tue 30th Jun 2020 4:06pm)
  • Thanks! by GutterShots (Tue 30th Jun 2020 4:06pm)
  • Oh brilliant, thanks very much! This sounds doable :) by GutterShots (Tue 30th Jun 2020 4:05pm)
  • Thanks for this! Do you know if the meeting needs to be in person or whether you can get votes in writing? by GutterShots (Fri 3rd Jul 2020 7:41am)
  • Ugh it’s so stupid when half the people don’t live anywhere in the vicinity!! Also finding it difficult to even get my neighbours to reply to me. You’d think people would want to save money 🤷‍♀️ by GutterShots (Fri 3rd Jul 2020 3:39pm)
  • Thanks so much for all the info. I am going to attempt to summon the energy to look out my title deeds first of all... and go from there! by GutterShots (Fri 3rd Jul 2020 3:50pm)
  • Cheers! by GutterShots (Fri 14th Aug 2020 8:16am)
  • Thanks for this! If I can get it done relatively inexpensively I think I’ll get a pro to do it but if it’s gonna cost the earth this is a good option by GutterShots (Fri 14th Aug 2020 8:16am)
  • Brilliant, thank you! by GutterShots (Fri 14th Aug 2020 8:16am)

  • I’m a stained glass artist and photographer in the southside - I do a Glasgow themed calendar and lots of suncatchers! You can see some work at http://www.ahmadeit.com by GutterShots (Wed 18th Nov 2020 9:14pm)
  • Photography isn’t all about just fitting as many things into the frame as possible. I like the contrast between the shadowed foreground and the brightening sky, and it’s emphasised by showing more of the sky. It’s an artistic choice. And yes, I often take portraits in landscape mode. by GutterShots (Thu 26th Nov 2020 9:33am)
  • Honestly one of the most beautiful mornings I’ve ever seen! by GutterShots (Thu 26th Nov 2020 10:51am)

  • It’s true - if they had’ve upgraded the ditch even a little bit it would be a lot nice by GutterShots (Sun 21st Mar 2021 7:47am)
  • It really is. We have some of them nicest architecture going, and then, increasingly, a lot of the worst. Between that and the rubbish I’m sometimes surprised anyone visits at all! (Although I do love it here.) by GutterShots (Sun 21st Mar 2021 7:45am)
  • Oh amazing, thanks! by GutterShots (Tue 25th May 2021 5:07pm)
  • This is terrible advice. People stopped paying in my building, then the debt collection charges just get added to the factoring bill, and you end up in a hole with a huge dent on your credit rating. by GutterShots (Wed 21st Jul 2021 10:18am)
  • Yeah. Unfortunately you can’t just not pay indefinitely, unless you’re planning not to live anywhere in the future by GutterShots (Wed 21st Jul 2021 3:08pm)
  • Nice move to pull on your neighbours! by GutterShots (Thu 22nd Jul 2021 9:01am)
  • If you’re out in the countryside without any shops/cafes etc, there will almost always be decently clean streams. Water purification tablets are easy to carry and only take 30 minutes to work :) by GutterShots (Wed 4th Aug 2021 9:49pm)
  • No worries! The brand I use is oasis, if that’s any help :) by GutterShots (Thu 5th Aug 2021 8:42pm)

  • This is what I was going to say. What some folk consider “scraping by” is a perfectly happy life for other people! The amount of money you “need” varies insanely from person to person. That said - I could do well on a salary like that even if I stayed in the west end instead of southside. by GutterShots (Tue 15th Mar 2022 7:12pm)
  • Ooh where to? I’m also interested but probably not fit enough for a really difficult one 😣 by GutterShots (Fri 18th Mar 2022 7:17pm)
  • You are allowed to overtake cyclists if you have 1.5m of clearance. If you can’t wait until you can legally overtake, don’t be on the road dude 🙂 If people only cycled where the entire route consisted of a designated cycle path, no one would be able to cycle anywhere in this city. Roads aren’t exclusively for cars, no matter how much you may wish otherwise. by GutterShots (Fri 29th Apr 2022 7:23pm)
  • Ah, I didn’t realise that was why. Thanks for the insight :) by GutterShots (Fri 8th Dec 2023 5:44pm)

  • Well I didn’t know any of that! Thanks for the info by GutterShots (Fri 8th Dec 2023 5:46pm)
  • True, and also extremely annoying considering that the NHS psychiatrist who assessed me told me that even with the enormous uptick in requests for assessments, the actual diagnosis rate is still over 90%. by GutterShots (Fri 8th Dec 2023 5:46pm)
