  • I have used a camera on Glasgow roads for about 6 years now . Reporting things is generally a waste of time . Police find reason not to bother prosecuting . Generally I find their attitude to be if you are not hit why are you bothering us . They don't bother with close passes ,or cars running red lights . I still use the camera all the time . It has proven I was the innocent party twice when I have been hit . Without the camera and no witness's I would probably have been blamed by the drivers . I reported the following video , went to my MSP and all the way through the PIRC complaints procedure , still can't believe that they blamed me . https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gl8Jb7b6NJ4 by Unlikely_Ad4320 (Fri 29th Apr 2022 6:14pm)

  • Path nearest the road is bumpy with tree roots is it not ? The one nearer the park fence is more likely to have pedestrians . The road is perfectly flat and hazard free , bar the idiot drivers that insist in getting in front of a bike no matter what . I cycle as it is generally the fastest way to get around the city during daylight hours , I dislike shared pavements ( I am actually against them ) . I understand why people do not want to ride upon the road , fear and a desire not to be maimed or killed are perfectly rational reasons . I do not like bullies and feel more should be done to address the behavior of bullies and instead of accepting their behavior society and the Police should be more pro active in stopping them .I think better enforcement of the rules that we have for the road would be a better option than spending £420 mil on cycle lanes . by Unlikely_Ad4320 (Sat 30th Apr 2022 8:29am)
  • Trying to run you over twice , man you controlled yourself well after that . Police Scotland are pish , thing is should you assault a driver they would more than likely prosecute you , there are so many cameras about nowadays you really need to behave , I hardly ever hit wing mirrors anymore :) by Unlikely_Ad4320 (Sat 30th Apr 2022 8:34am)
  • Nice of you to basically guard her . by Unlikely_Ad4320 (Sat 30th Apr 2022 8:49am)
  • It is not the design of roads , it is the behavior of those that use them . How many cars pass you or do you overtake on any commute , vast majority of them are not problematic , so for the majority of drivers the roads layout is not a problem .Bad motorists are just bullies , why let society spend millions building cycle lanes to accommodate their bullying behavior , why not address their bullying .Pedestrians have loads of infrastructure and four times as many of them are killed by vehicles than there are cyclists killed . by Unlikely_Ad4320 (Sat 30th Apr 2022 8:48am)

  • "2 to the polis and they are categorised as ‘close passes’ " Do you mean the Police said something like "Yeah that is pretty bad but we can't prosecute this time . We will add them to a data base "I been told that a couple of times , I don't believe them by Unlikely_Ad4320 (Sat 30th Apr 2022 8:59am)
  • It is not illegal . There is no requirement in the highway code to use cycle lanes . Cycle lanes are designed for speeds of 15 - 18 mph , a wee bit slower than my normal speed . The path at the side has tree roots that make it lumpy so 20 mph + is a no no upon it . One of the greatest things about cycling is the freedom it gives you . Where is that freedom if you can only proscribed routes ? Why should I take a indirect route and more time going about my business ? Why would I insist in using a busy road which is direct from A- B and not be happy about using a route that goes A - c- d -e -B ? That route was the way I traveled to my Dads house , sometimes it was imperative I get there ASAP due to his health . Why shouldn't I use the most direct route ? by Unlikely_Ad4320 (Sat 30th Apr 2022 9:13am)

I know what it feels like to be scared , every-time I have been hit it takes time to get confidence back . by Unlikely_Ad4320 (Sat 30th Apr 2022 9:23am)
  • I know they do not enforce it but to say they think it is ridiculous is not correct . Police do not like dealing with the aftermath of road incidents especially fatalities and the difference of surviving a impact from 20 mph to 30 mph is considerable . I do not know why they do not enforce it but I doubt they think it is ridiculous by Unlikely_Ad4320 (Sat 30th Apr 2022 9:29am)
  • They do not enforce the current 20 MPH zone in the city . They do not enforce Advance stop line abuse . They do not enforce close passes , they do not enforce cars going over give way lines at junctions . by Unlikely_Ad4320 (Sat 30th Apr 2022 9:27am)

  • It is a shame that you are so willing to have your freedom curtailed by bullies I live in Glasgow a city designed around cars , I guess its not comparable to where you live The roads are designed for 30 mph maximum and in some conditions that is to fast . 30 is a limit not a target . It is bonkers that people entrusted with a ton of metal and who have been required to show a level of competence when doing so can behave in a manner to threaten kids at all . The most vulnerable road user's out there who do not have a license . The onus is upon the vehicle to be more wary , more considerate of cyclists because of the fact that they do not have licenses . Every time a motorist approaches a cyclist they should do with absolute caution , basically because they have no idea what the untrained muppet on a bike might do next and I am sure they do not want to actually kill anyone by Unlikely_Ad4320 (Sat 30th Apr 2022 10:05am)

  • Surprised you didn't know that 2 abreast is allowed then . I actually do not have a driving license , no need for a cyclist . by Unlikely_Ad4320 (Sat 30th Apr 2022 2:53pm)
  • That was the opinion of a individual officer . That is not the line Police Scotland say they take . The point I made about the affects of being hit at the different speeds is based on science , not opinion . in the city center my average would be about 20 mph which is why I pretty much always catch up with those that exceed the speed limit at traffic lights . by Unlikely_Ad4320 (Sat 30th Apr 2022 2:59pm)
  • Why not both , because £420 million is a hell of a lot of money to spend on lanes and doing so does nothing to address the actual problem on the roads which is driver behavior . Would be a lot cheaper to employ some extra traffic police and maybe have them focus solely on inner city roads . by Unlikely_Ad4320 (Sat 30th Apr 2022 3:02pm)
  • I am not sure about the deliveroo rider . He acted strange . I am not sure if the abuse he gave me was audible . I suspect he knew or recognised the van driver and expected him to back him up . Just watched it again . When the van is at 90 degrees to the road it moved forward as I was passing , that was his first fault , the overtake was mindless and slightly dangerous . When I did the U turn there are cars in the left lane , I saw a space near the pavement on the opposite side and road into that , The only person I was blocking was the deliveroo hero . The van had space to move . I am still baffled as to what he thinks he saw . I would do every bit of that again and I highly doubt the police would find fault in my riding , maybe that is why I made it public . by Unlikely_Ad4320 (Sat 30th Apr 2022 3:11pm)
  • Hierarchy of Road Users was introduced , it is a concept that ranks road users in order of those who are most at risk in the event of an accident. It is no surprise that pedestrians top the group, as they can cause the least harm on the road but are highly vulnerable in an accident . Motorists need appreciate the potential danger that is present in manoeuvring a ton of metal around at speed and the responsibility of due care that they have to others by Unlikely_Ad4320 (Sat 30th Apr 2022 3:19pm)

That rules out SNP and Greens for me , I am left with the Labour guy that has been here for years and has helped me in the past and some independent guy . I wish the Greens and the SNP had got someone local for me to vote for . • This is to do with the city Network of cycle lanes that they plan spending £433 million on . They intend for it to be complete by 2033 . It is an absolute waste of money . • Pollokshaws Rd is to remain a bus corridor . Titiwood rd is not on the bike bus route . Minard rd they do use but need integrate with traffic before and after . After Minard Rd they are on Mossside rd with no infrastructure and no protection for kids going to the secondary school . by Unlikely_Ad4320 (Mon 5th Sep 2022 2:04pm)
  • The city network is planned to be delivered by 2033 . It will cost £433 million , Pollokshaws road remains a bus corridor . Whats the problem ? The fact that they need ( and everyone else as well ) will still need mix with traffic . Traffic which is un-policed and allowed to install a level of fear into cyclists where they think they need cycle lanes . So cyclists will still be intimidated and injured dare they choose to ride anywhere other than the specified cycle lane rat runs . Cycling is about freedom . Cycle lanes are not . Every lane is a cycle lane . I do not want the city to spend all that money on a scheme that will do nothing for cycling safety over all in the city . Yes it will be smashing for a few that live on the specified routes but it will literally be deadly for those that do not . by Unlikely_Ad4320 (Sun 11th Sep 2022 7:00pm)

  • For the £4.3 m that Viccy road cycle lane cost you could buy 10K action cams and give them out to active cyclist in the city . Viccy Rd or any of the planned £433million network of cycle lanes only give cover when you are in those lanes . The rest of the city and outside the city limits will be full of angry motorists . 10K action cams given freely to cycling clubs ,people that bought new bikes , people that used bike to work scheme . Have Police Scotland start up the promised portal for them accepting video evidence . If that were done and the police and courts acted upon it the cycling everywhere would be safe by Unlikely_Ad4320 (Sat 11th Feb 2023 3:27am)
  • Aye but there mair miles travelled by bike there . well if there ur mair miles traveled biy bike here then mair cyclist will die here even if we huv aw the fancy infrastructure Netherlands has . Look at whit is happeneing tae oped in this city !Polas telling them tae wear hi vis if they wannae go oot . Fir fuks sake . by Unlikely_Ad4320 (Sat 11th Feb 2023 3:33am)
  • If is it as simple as that then why is it not done . Well basically cos no one makes any money from it That £433 million that is going to be spent on cycle lanes alone in Glasgow is not just for materials and labour . There are Pr consultants , designers , lawyers , surveyors , fund managers ,accountants , more lawyers , loads of middle class jobs .They all talk of intelligent design and the Netherlands Netherlands , three times larger than Scotland in population . 17.6 m - 6 M . Cyclist deaths 220 - 12 . by Unlikely_Ad4320 (Sat 11th Feb 2023 3:31am)
  • Yeah know geeing awe the cyclist camers would be cheaper than building awe these new cycle paths . It would cover where cycle paths do not go . Look at the state of the por guy fae Cmilk that got fucked in a hit in run . Regular commuter , he would get a free camera . Then the prick that hit him would be caught . better still if the sheme was operational every motorist would treat cyclist with respct cos they aw have fucking cameras . by Unlikely_Ad4320 (Sat 11th Feb 2023 3:36am)
  • The Provo white bike scheme already has a link with the city as NVA did a homage to Provos scheme [http://nva.org.uk/artwork/witte-fietsenplan-white-bike-plan/](http://nva.org.uk/artwork/witte-fietsenplan-white-bike-plan/) by Unlikely_Ad4320 (Sat 11th Feb 2023 3:44am)
  • You can have handle bar and seat post cameras for rear views . You are right about it not stopping idiots from hitting you . I think that if the idiots that drive in the manner that they do that intimidates , never mind hits cyclist realised they were likely to be caught for such behavior then it would stop , and with those that it didn't then the courts would stop them . by Unlikely_Ad4320 (Sat 11th Feb 2023 3:53am)
  • £433 million of cycle lanes coming your way by 2033 . Thing is what will happen to the city in the winter . December and January Viccy Rd cycle path was dead . In January Viccy rd had 13400 cyclists use on the 31st . That averages out at 432 a day . Obviously early January there were days with only a couple of hundred riders. Build it and they will use it in the summer and we can shut down the city in the winter . Yes I know about appropriate clothing for conditions and that people ride all year in Helsinki , but that was not the case here . by Unlikely_Ad4320 (Sun 19th Feb 2023 8:45pm)

SSH will also be the factors for the building so it should be there responsibility to keep the building in a habitable state . I would moan to my councilors before I forked out money myself , I hope SSH clean up their mess . lack of grill on pipe = SSH responsibility in my book . • You can't see the excitement and skill at traveling at the speeds they do ? riding on 28 mm tyres Can you not admire how fucking fit they are . Have your seen MVDP riding up Montrose st ? I ain't into the BMX , but I have watched in on the telly . Wicked how they throw their bikes around in the air . Similar is the pump track events , unfortunately I haven't seen anything from the pump track yet . Again what they do is mental and not something I could even badly attempt . The mountain biking , again not my particular thing was exciting , especially after the rain . Another set of skills altogether is shown with the artistic cycling and cycleball . Its brilliant all round , open your mind to the skills that are on display the other events that you are not into . by Unlikely_Ad4320 (Mon 7th Aug 2023 8:26pm)
