  • I might be interested! Men’s or women’s bike? Road or mountain, etc? by howdoyouevenusername (Mon 20th Jul 2020 11:09pm)
  • Don’t have a car unfortunately to get to the drive thru ones. Ordered a home test kit and praying the results don’t take too long. Was meant to see sig other first time in months starting tomorrow, obviously now delayed until I get results. What a drag. by howdoyouevenusername (Fri 24th Jul 2020 3:21pm)
  • Hah! “Please stay still while I quickly tickle your brain with this stick” 😖. They do look really uncomfortable from what I’ve seen! by howdoyouevenusername (Fri 24th Jul 2020 6:56pm)
  • Curious to see how long the at home ones take to get results. Worried it’ll be a lot longer than the drive thru ones. Nice they’ve been quick for most of you!! by howdoyouevenusername (Fri 24th Jul 2020 6:54pm)
  • Oh thanks so much for letting me know. Sure hope it’s quick for me. Hope it being a weekend doesn’t muck it up! by howdoyouevenusername (Fri 24th Jul 2020 8:06pm)
  • Yea I’ve seen footage of that and it looks unpleasant. But the home test kits are different for some reason? There’s a YouTube vid by NHS they make you watch to make sure you do it perfectly. I already watched and its pretty gentle and you don’t need to go near as deep. No idea why that would be different though??? by howdoyouevenusername (Fri 24th Jul 2020 10:30pm)
  • That’s super strange. Surely they should tell you the results even if inconclusive?? I really hope I don’t fuck mine up. Need the results back ASAP! Waiting impatiently all day yesterday and today for my kit to arrive.... by howdoyouevenusername (Sat 25th Jul 2020 4:38pm)
  • This is prob a bit controversial and makes you feel a little bad but I’ve always been told to have a quick check of the car park (if there is one) as it can indicate level income perhaps, whether they care for their things, etc. Won’t tell you everything you’re looking for, but short of speaking with them yourself, combine a car park check with a peak at peoples windows, doors, welcome mats, etc etc to get some clues on the people living there. by howdoyouevenusername (Mon 27th Jul 2020 12:28pm)
  • No matter what people are saying the motive is (racial or not), this is horribly emotionally (and potentially physically) traumatic. This makes me cry. I’m so mad and hurt on your behalf. I hear these stories of scumbags with nothing better to do than to abuse people and can only hope karma bites them in the ass. Imagine being that shitty of a person that you think it’s impressive to hurt someone for fun. Scum of the earth. At least you can know you’re 100% better person than them, but that doesn’t erase the pain for you. If you are ever concerned, I know there are self defence classes in Glasgow that could increase confidence. I hope you have a support system (family or friends?) in Glasgow and feel safe and respected and welcomed. There are also lots of organised groups for meeting new people if needed (sorry, not meaning to make any assumptions but just thought I’d add these in case). Hope you’re okay mate! by howdoyouevenusername (Thu 30th Jul 2020 11:37am)
  • Can confirm they were being antsy on the far west coast yesterday too by howdoyouevenusername (Sat 1st Aug 2020 10:19am)
  • Portable bottles of hand sanitiser are your new best friends. Not to mention all pubs and restaurants have bottles of them about. You’ll figure it out. by howdoyouevenusername (Thu 10th Sep 2020 7:38pm)
  • Nurses and hospital staff are humans too. Always gonna be some dumb witted self absorbed morons in the mix. I work for nhs too and I’m appalled at times at the behaviour of some staff in the best of times, never mind covid. I’m sure some hospital staff are as guilty of bringing it in as anyone else. by howdoyouevenusername (Sat 31st Oct 2020 8:48am)
  • I think you can buy on the app on phone? Could try that!! by howdoyouevenusername (Wed 25th Nov 2020 6:05pm)
  • A lot of people seem to be commenting on how the injection site gets sore. Just want to clarify that this is totally normal for ALL vaccines. If anyone has ever even had a flu vaccine, it is normal and normally not that bad, just somewhat tender for a day or two. I just don’t want people to think this is some bad side effect from the COVID vaccine and be afraid of it for that reason. by howdoyouevenusername (Thu 31st Dec 2020 5:07pm)
  • Can you just not pay last months rent? And that way they keep your deposit as last months rent? If it’s too late, Make sure you are ready to properly document in writing the comparison of the state of the property before and after you rented it and if they try to take anything more off you, ask them to prove you’ve done some amount of damage with documentation and photo evidence, which they likely won’t be able to do. Refuse them. by howdoyouevenusername (Mon 18th Jan 2021 12:16am)
  • And then the bins are overflowing and the council says they won’t take it because of the mess and the bin lids won’t close. Don’t really know what we’re expected to do at this point?? I’ve never seen this neglect and lack of accountability with the rubbish before. by howdoyouevenusername (Sun 24th Jan 2021 1:35am)
  • Foxes are all over Glasgow. Most people wouldn’t see this as an issue. They’re literally wild animals doing what wild animals do. I understand the noise can be a nuisance but it’s the same as saying I hate the sound of pigeons or birds chirping. Perhaps try living in a city centre high rise if the noise bothers you too much. by howdoyouevenusername (Sun 31st Jan 2021 11:11am)
  • I’ve also seen a load of Scottish gift shops and random shops open on argyle in city centre. I was shocked. How are these essential? by howdoyouevenusername (Tue 2nd Feb 2021 7:05pm)
  • What are you selling? Might as well ask hah by howdoyouevenusername (Fri 5th Feb 2021 1:22pm)
  • Interesting... I’m looking at advice on BUYING a car.... 🤔🤔🤔 by howdoyouevenusername (Fri 5th Feb 2021 1:20pm)
  • Is Artisan Roast open near kelvingrove park? My absolute fav coffee. by howdoyouevenusername (Sun 7th Feb 2021 12:41am)
  • At it again. Bet they have no shame or thought of what they left behind either. by howdoyouevenusername (Wed 10th Feb 2021 12:44pm)
  • This is such a good point I may not have realised, so thank you. It’s sketching me out too. Why not call the police if they think he’s been spotted, rather than ask the public to privately and personally send them photos? Surely the police can be on the lookout for this man if reported. I sincerely hope someone has contacted the police to report this manhunt. I checked the fb post and people are sharing it pretty far and wide without thinking about this perspective of potentially putting this man in danger. by howdoyouevenusername (Mon 15th Feb 2021 8:43am)
  • I mean good for you for doing this, you’re a stand up citizen and neighbour. But at the end of the day, it still shouldn’t be necessary. We pay council taxes for a reason and the work isn’t getting done. Meanwhile you’re not getting paid and you’re putting in more effort (physically cleaning, plus educating and advocating). by howdoyouevenusername (Mon 15th Feb 2021 8:54pm)
  • Can confirm. I hear people talk far and wide about how littered Glasgow is a lot. Glasgow is such a beautiful city but it doesn’t receive nice comparisons to other beautiful cities around the world. by howdoyouevenusername (Tue 16th Feb 2021 2:09am)
  • Have you traveled a lot? I am one of the foreigners living in Glasgow. I love the city but the sheer amount of litter was the first thing I noticed here compared to a lot of other places in the world, and used to tell people back home about how awful the litter is here(sorry to say). That was long before the pandemic. I could not and still cannot understand why there is such a litter issue here. The council is definitely more slack at the moment but there is also a massive attitude problem in general with people who think it’s okay to throw rubbish on the ground or don’t clean up after their dogs. by howdoyouevenusername (Tue 16th Feb 2021 8:53am)
  • What is the noise exactly and why is it making you think something bad is happening? The walls and floors are thin here. I’ve got a neighbour who occasionally lets out a quick angry sounding scream, but it’s consistent enough and I figured they’re playing some games. Do you hear this neighbour go in or out of the flat ever? Pop your head out and ask if he’s alright. by howdoyouevenusername (Sun 21st Feb 2021 8:34am)
  • Not to discourage you, but you’ll need to be careful and courteous. Definitely have the hi-vis, lights, helmets, safety equipment. From what I’ve seen, a lot of drivers despise cyclists in Glasgow, bus drivers most of all and will occasionally make dangerous passes out of impatience, putting everyone in danger. That being said, there are some decent cycling lanes in some parts of the city, which are probably the best bet. You can look up cycling routes and maps online for a better idea and maybe plan where you’ll live based on that. by howdoyouevenusername (Tue 23rd Feb 2021 8:47am)
  • I guess I’m seeing it from the opposite perspective. I’m a bus taker and you should hear the cursing and noises of frustration that comes out of the bus drivers when they even so much as see a cyclist, let alone when the cyclist is ahead of them 😅. It’s always shocking tbh. But glad you feel relatively safe as a cyclist. by howdoyouevenusername (Tue 23rd Feb 2021 12:15pm)
  • “People make Glasgow dirty” alright by howdoyouevenusername (Sun 28th Feb 2021 9:48pm)
  • And can someone please explain the logic behind collecting your dug’s shite in a wee bag and then tossing it on the pavement??? I see them everywhere, some have been smushed by innocent pedestrians or cyclists. by howdoyouevenusername (Sun 28th Feb 2021 9:54pm)
  • Agree 100% but unfortunately it takes generations to kerb this type of behaviour and Glasgow is so far behind in waste education. Another aspect that is particularly bad at the moment is that the bins are overflowing all over the city, and you get even people that would regularly use the bins just tossing their rubbish on the ground, or stacking it high to get blown about. — of course once again people should find another bin or carry it home. by howdoyouevenusername (Sun 28th Feb 2021 9:52pm)
  • Dude by howdoyouevenusername (Tue 2nd Mar 2021 11:27pm)
  • City council needs to publicly reprimand and shame this behaviour. We can rant and rave about it on Reddit but you barely hear a peep about it from council or any form of government. This is shameful and disgusting. I’m soon leaving Glasgow and I’m incredibly sad about it for so many reasons, but absolutely will not miss the rubbish, littering, overflowing bins, and the careless attitudes about it all and city council doing absolutely piss-all to try and kerb or fix the issue. by howdoyouevenusername (Mon 8th Mar 2021 7:48am)
  • Oh yea I bet the ones that broke the benches are the ones paying for the damage. The isn’t the solution to the problem. It makes me sick that go fund mes are in place for this. by howdoyouevenusername (Mon 8th Mar 2021 8:17pm)
  • Sorry I didn’t word that the best. It makes me sick this has happened in the first place and that go fund mes are necessary. And the people likely donating to it are likely not the ones who caused the damage in the first place. by howdoyouevenusername (Mon 8th Mar 2021 11:24pm)
  • Have they actually ever fined anyone? I’d love to see littering fines enforced. by howdoyouevenusername (Sun 14th Mar 2021 3:24am)
  • > Launching the campaign, she said: “People make Glasgow and I’m sure Glaswegians will join us to help make Glasgow greener too.” This just sounds so patronising to me. As though *we*, the scum, need to help *them* do their jobs and they’re SURE we’ll do it cos we’re kind-hearted people. Where was this campaign when *we* have been asking for help all this time, to the people who literally get paid to do this? Now they expect people (whose job it’s not) to volunteer to help as soon as they ask? Yes everyone plays a part in the litter problems in glasgow, but this is just so ass backwards once again. And as another commenter pointed out, £800,000 for 16 neighbourhood coordinators?!?!? At £50,000 a piece, meanwhile healthcare workers are getting paid a fraction of that. by howdoyouevenusername (Sun 14th Mar 2021 3:35am)
  • Had one of their brownies today. If you haven’t tried them, you must!! by howdoyouevenusername (Thu 18th Mar 2021 6:18pm)
  • Just want to say thank you so so much for everything you’re doing. I’ve been following your efforts the last month or so. I’m moving away from Glasgow soon and won’t miss the litter problems but would love to hear how it improves over the next while through yours and others’ efforts. You should be mighty proud for making such an impactful difference. by howdoyouevenusername (Sat 20th Mar 2021 1:30pm)
  • All speculation, but if on a break at 10:30, I’d really hope to see some rubbish or large items loaded into the back by then. PerHAPS they just happened to drop off a full load right before their “break” but I’m gonna go out on a limb and say I doubt it. by howdoyouevenusername (Fri 26th Mar 2021 6:15pm)
  • Oh yea trust me I’m not down with insulting these guys personally nor their jobs. I’ve been a council worker myself. But yea, pretty universally, council jobs can be a bit of a joke. You get better and worse employees, but a lot of people can personally vouch and admit that it’s easy to get away with putting in minimal effort on the job. Having been a council worker myself, that’s why I speculate there is some possibility that truck bed hasn’t been filled yet on that shift. I could be wrong, but the point is it wouldn’t surprise anyone. by howdoyouevenusername (Fri 26th Mar 2021 7:37pm)
  • Far chance but any security cameras at the building or across the street? by howdoyouevenusername (Tue 6th Apr 2021 4:59am)

  • Are they possibly not father step son but rather in some weird relationship and it’s the two of them going at it? by howdoyouevenusername (Wed 30th Mar 2022 4:57pm)
  • No, that really wouldn’t imply that. by howdoyouevenusername (Fri 8th Apr 2022 8:50am)
  • > we will end up down the American rabbit hole I feel like that’s already happened in a lot of places, specifically dealing with food. But I also now see a big divide on people tipping their hairdressers, taxis, etc etc. by howdoyouevenusername (Wed 20th Jul 2022 1:25pm)
  • I moved away from Glasgow, but still in Scotland, and I must say the weather is incredibly different. As in, it is not raining more often than it is raining. Blue skies today. It’s improved my mood and lifestyle a lot. by howdoyouevenusername (Mon 31st Oct 2022 11:37am)
  • Dude these are so fucking cool!! Would look really cool hung on the wall too! by howdoyouevenusername (Sun 28th May 2023 7:22pm)
  • This has been the most mind blowing thing when I first learned it. Some dude did a full blown experiment on YouTube and is amazing how much more cooling it is to blow a fan OUT the window. But the distance seemed to matter, if I remember correctly. by howdoyouevenusername (Wed 31st May 2023 7:07am)
