It might be the same woman who used to always break into our close when we were on London Road to shoot up. The police never managed to catch her which was weird cause, well she has one leg.

Stick a note through they're door, the owners might have no idea the poor dog is upset on its own. If you haven’t noticed a change after a few weeks then contact the SPCA but theres no point wasting their time straight away if it's something the owner could take steps to fix once they know about it.

You get 4 full years of funding plus one 'retake' year from SAAS. So if Glasgow or Strathy allow you to join their course but as a first year then you will still be covered funding wise, it's just going to take you an extra year.

Do you have your own account with the electricity company? Our first flat had a prepayment meter and it seemed extortionate, spoke to Scottish Power and it turned out it was still in the previous tenants name and there was a debt on it that we were actually paying off every week.

Had massive issues with this when I lived on London Road. One of the police officers who came out told me to make sure I stated they were openly injecting when I called. Call every single time even if you know it seems excessive, its the only way the full scale of the problem gets to the top so action can be taken. What area are you in? We got our local councillors involved (again email and call repeatedly so they can pass on the full scae of the problem) and it eventually led to a lot of work although it did take time. The bin sheds they hid in were demolished, trees and bushes were cut down to remove any shady hiding spots and the closes being done up so they couldn't break in and inject anymore.

I would be very careful with this, the council normally say themselves you shouldn't stop paying whilst waiting on reductions and council tax is one of the debts that can affect your credit score. I would personally just persevere trying to get through to them before just cancelling.

My neighbours are cunts. Currently blaring music at 2.37am, just like they've done almost every night since we went into lockdown. Fuck all consideration for us unfortunate people who are stupidly considered key worker's and still need to go to work in the morning for the same pay as them sitting on their arse all day. Also my poor wee car got scratched by some absolute roaster in the work car park this week, probably in buying fucking hair spray or some other absolutely non essential item judging by 99% of our customers. Shite week to be a 'key worker'. Rant over. Hope every one is doing OK.

Your landlord should be arranging that for you, it's an environmental health issue and not tenants responsibility. If you don't get anywhere with the landlord you can report it to the councils environmental health team although obviously just now it might take a while for it to get dealt with.

Avoid 1-2-Let. We tried getting them to do repairs as tenants and they were actually stupid enough to confirm in writing that they weren't going to do repairs as it was an acceptable thing to live with. This was going against the very first thing on the property tribunals list of habitable standards for rented property. Needless to say when we eventually had to go to court over it we won.

Best thing to do is check each providers online coverage map for your actual street. We had a flat in the south side years ago where for some really annoying reason our whole street was a complete dead zone for Vodafone who we had both just started new contracts with but everywhere else in the area was absolutely fine.

This was the situation with our first landlord. We ended up giving our notice and asking him to use the deposit as the last month's rent, he tried to argue it but realised he'd screwed himself by not following the proper procedures because he couldn't really do anything about it. He came round for an inspection 2 weeks before we left just to make sure the place wasn't trashed but that was it. You're actually in a better position than he is, there are huge fines for not being registered and not securing the deposit correctly. Also it doesn't actually matter what your contract says if you fulfil the criteria then you probably have a private residential agreement, information at [shelter](https://scotland.shelter.org.uk/get_advice/advice_topics/renting_rights/renting_from_a_private_landlord) which actually gives you a decent amount of rights.

You usually have to wait a few weeks for a wisdom teeth removal anyway as most regular dental practices don't do it and refer you to specific specialist practices. If you call your dentist they should still be open for emergencies and can advise you but I'm guessing they'll probably just recommend pain management until everything starts opening up again.

Touchy. Not to detract but I'm white 5'2 female and I used to live on London Road so cycled through the park all the time. Sadly you're wrong. A customer politely asked another customer in my shop to please socially distance from her in the queue and the guy absolutely lost his shit. Plenty of other customers joined in ranting and raving about distancing and masks and they'll do what they want etc. Id love to say this has been a one off but it's happened a few times now and I can only imagine the abuse staff would get. You should look into something like dermatica. I'll be honest I stopped using it as I found it too expensive but it definitely helped me get it under control for a few months and at least then if you know what works you can ask your gp for the same product. They're currently offering your first month free to help ease pressure on the NHS too. It's usually about 20/25 a month if I remember correctly.

Praying for tier 3. My husbands driving test is the following week and this is now the 5th test rescheduled due to lockdowns. Everytime it gets cancelled by the DVLA they bump you to the bottom of the waiting list instead of just pushing everyone's forward by 2-3 weeks. After his last cancellation for the 23rd Nov his test was automatically rebooked by them for the middle of March, such a joke. Absolute nightmare trying to get a cancellation test anytime soon and even worse trying to work with a driving instructor last minute. The whole system needs restructured.

My gran was in the process of being diagnosed with cancer and starting treatment at the start of lockdown. Despite having a terminal prognosis she was given many, many treatments and I truly believe she was given the chance to live as long as possible. When she went for her first treatment the oncologist that day told her was lucky she was in Scotland as in London they had now stopped all cancer treatments due to being overwhelmed. I can only imagine how heartbreaking that must have been for the patients and their families.

Section one of the repairing standard means your property must be wind or water tight. If not and your landlord doesn't fix you can report it to the housing tribunal who can issue court orders etc to the landlord. It is a long process but hopefully just putting a formal request in writing to your landlord, letting them know it goes against this standard and if not repaired you will report it to the tribunal, will make them just do the repair. You have to provide proof to the tribunal that you tried to get the repair done before reporting it anyway so it's important to document it.

If they come out and the keys they have are fine then that means your keys are faulty and they need to get you a new set cut. Stand outside the door that isn't working and call the letting agents and ask for either a set of new keys or a locksmith to attend as you're locked out your property. If they are awkward about it remind them that if you get locked out after the office is shut then you would need to call the emergency number and they'll need to get a locksmith which is pretty expensive out of hours.

As someone who's dog has been attacked more than once by off lead dogs you're unfortunately wrong about people not letting dogs like that off the lead. My dog was well socialised as a puppy but dogs react to their experiences and trauma similar to humans and despite a lot of money on behaviourists and medication she will always be reactive to strange dogs now. At the end of the day it's just bad manners and rude to let your dog approach an on lead dog, you don't know why they're on the lead and if it's not a dog you know you should check first or keep your dog on a lead if it doesn't have a solid recall. My dog had a operation, after being attacked by an off lead dog funnily enough, and literally two days later she got body slammed by a wild labrador whose owner took forever to come over all whilst my dog was going mad as it jumped all over and ended up bursting half her stitches.

The worst thing about trying to buy a house in the last year has been all the people who don't seem to have any concept of supply and demand saying things like "oh I would never have paid 100k for a house there!". Even when every house in that area is listed at offers over 140 and selling within a day or two of being listed. After spending genuinely about a year being outbid again and again comments like that trigger me now haha. We just moved and the first thing next door did was tell us how we had massively overpaid, he bought his house for a quarter of what ours was listed at etc. No bother mate, give us a loan of your time machine then or fuck off. As if I've willingly chose to spend thousands more than I had to, what an idiot I am! Enjoy the new home, Cathcart is a lovely wee bit of town!

They also have organised trips away and navigation courses etc. There's also a group open to everyone it I've never been to those events, should also be good for meeting people I'd imagine.

For branches you can tie them up in 1m bundles and leave them out with the brown bin in North Ayrshire. No need to do anything with them although if you have a lot it might be worth spreading it out over a few collections. Go down to the [garden waste section](https://www.north-ayrshire.gov.uk/bins-litter-and-recycling/bins/bins-mainland-cumbrae.aspx#brown)

Our mortgage broker got us to use Adobe scan to send all our stuff in, it's really good and free too.

Came here to recommend them too. Really helpful and reasonably priced too.

Have you looked into whether your current company would put you through any additional training to allow you to swap job roles in your company? They obviously don't need to know that your end goal is to be your own boss but a lot of places will put you through training as long as you stay for example two years after completing the training. My current employer let's you leave within the two years but you pay back a portion of the training costs. If you're planning on doing it yourself anyway you'd have already been paying so probably won't make a big difference for you.

I currently pay 70 a month for my 9 year old dog on a different company so seems like a good amount.

Scottish Power and BAE are two big companies I know of that do adult apprenticeships and trainee schemes and are still regularly recruiting, my company unfortunately stopped doing so during covid and still hasn't started back. Would definitely recommend trying to get into some sort of college course ASAP just to get a little experience that you can talk about during the application process. I qualified from my apprenticeship the week before I turned 30 and its honestly been the best thing I ever did.

If you're paying anything at all back then you're making £25k plus a year, hardly scraping by.

It's one 1 year if non-contested, 2 years if contested.
