  • Not been in the city centre in a while. I only go if I really need to, mostly to go to the bank. Usually Sauchiehall Street and it is always looking grimmer each time. I used to love Sauchiehal Street, it used to be good but now it's just depressing as hell. I don't mind artistic graffiti but bawbags neds or young teams who write "menchies" are just wee tadgers. Come to think of it: I've not seen a ned or young team in years actually lol. by jaggynettle (Fri 16th Oct 2020 3:28pm)

  • I used to work in retail so I feel for you. Customers are bawbags at the best of times, so I can only imagine the absolute roasters going about these days. Just want to let you know that you are appreciated for the work that you do, many people like me are grateful for people such as yourself. What some fuds don't realise is that shop workers are as every bit essential workers, the same as carers, nurses, doctors etc. Hoping you stay safe and well through these tough times. by jaggynettle (Fri 16th Oct 2020 4:01pm)
  • Same. :) by jaggynettle (Fri 16th Oct 2020 4:05pm)
  • What is it with people that say they find the masks uncomfortable... everyone finds them uncomfortable. You should have said to him: 'know what's more uncomfortable? Not being able to breath due to covid pneumonia.' My god, I find wearing a seat belt uncomfortable but I still wear one because it could save my life. by jaggynettle (Fri 16th Oct 2020 4:16pm)

  • I agree mate. Never really been one for fireworks. Always find it a bit immature and childish the way people go crazy for them. "Ooh, pretty lights. Oooh, pretty colours." πŸ™„ I've got a cat but he's great. He doesn't react to the fireworks at all. But I feel for folk with pets that get so scared they wet themselves. Would be better if we could somehow restrict fireworks to professional display only. For example, Glasgow Green only by the council or something. Too many wee tadgers setting them aff at all hours, throwing them at people and passing traffic. Was a news article the other day about a dafty that blew her hand off with one. People will never learn and it's annoying as fuck but wit can we dae... there will always be goons wae no enough electrical connections in their brain to behave like civilised human beings, unfortunately. by jaggynettle (Thu 5th Nov 2020 1:46am)
  • You're asking for people to use their common sense and decency. That's asking a bit much. Especially for some neds and sengas. by jaggynettle (Thu 5th Nov 2020 1:52am)

  • I've been saying for ages that we should all just stop paying council tax as protest. Surely they can't throw millions of people in jail? by jaggynettle (Mon 25th Jan 2021 4:33am)
  • That's actually the best option. It usually works. by jaggynettle (Mon 25th Jan 2021 4:30am)
  • Most likely is. I used to work in the science centre a few years ago. During roasting hot summer months the cheap plastic tiles on the floors would warp because of the extreme heat belting through the windows. Was like a giant greenhouse. by jaggynettle (Tue 26th Jan 2021 5:01am)

  • It's all about saving money. It's always about saving money when it comes to GCC. If they wanted to encourage recycling then they should be giving everyone an extra blue bin, stop putting limits on what can be recycled (can't recycle yoghurt pots, plastic straws etc) and keep the green bins to be emptied every 2 weeks. They don't seem to think of people with big families either. Also, doesn't make sense for them to make green bins every three weeks. There's already a rat problem in the city. 1.3 million rats and counting. The fourth highest rat population in the UK. Bin men have been getting attacked by them too. I've seen dead rats lying about some areas in Maryhill too. Considering people are now at home more due to covid and lockdowns, working from home etc... there will be more waste than normal. Nothing GCC are doing makes any sense. The only thing that makes sense is that they want to save money. It's understandable that there are bin men having to self isolate, but there are contractors they can hire. And we know they've got the money to do it - they've put council tax UP. Taking more council tax off people but cutting services. GCC are a corrupt bunch. The people at the top don't care about environmental health, they don't care about the public or even their own workers. I've got a feeling things will only get worse over the next year. by jaggynettle (Fri 5th Feb 2021 11:02pm)
  • This is so true. Can't recycle yoghurt pots. Can't recycle plastic straws. Can't recycle pizza boxes etc. It's ridiculous. by jaggynettle (Fri 5th Feb 2021 11:06pm)
  • I've been saying for ages that everyone everywhere should stop paying council tax. If hundreds of thousands or even millions did it, it would hopefully make an impact. They've increased the amount of council tax we need to pay but for some reason cutting services. GCC will continue to take the cunt out of us all as long as we let them. I don't use Twitter or anything, but it would be cool if we could start some kind of hashtag that got thousands or even millions to avoid paying the council tax. I've even seen someone suggest that instead of people taking their excess rubbish and fly tipping in their own area, we should start mass dumping it all outside city chambers. by jaggynettle (Fri 5th Feb 2021 11:16pm)
  • I was thinking the exact same thing. Instead of people having to fly tip or keep waste in their own area, dump it all outside the City Chambers. They can't ignore the problem when it's in front of their faces every single day. Also, we should ALL refuse to pay council tax. by jaggynettle (Fri 5th Feb 2021 11:36pm)
  • Right enough. Didn't think of it like that. by jaggynettle (Sat 6th Feb 2021 8:53am)
  • This might sound like a dolly question (I'm new to recycling, just moved into a main door before xmas there) - when you put food into your brown bin, do you put the food in wee bags first or just dump the food in without bags? I'm trying to recycle as much as possible and want to get good use out of each bin as much as I can. by jaggynettle (Sat 6th Feb 2021 8:51am)
  • Really sorry for the loss of your wee pal. I'm a cat owner and I can't imagine how much pain your wee heart is in right now. Hope your wee furry pal is resting in peace and didn't pass in any pain. πŸ™πŸ» πŸˆπŸ•ŠοΈ by jaggynettle (Sat 6th Feb 2021 9:05am)
  • I agree. I got my wee furry pal from Cat's Protection. They are fantastic. They even pay for his medication for the rest of his life. I'd always recommend if someone wants a kitty to go to Cat's Protection. πŸ‘πŸ½ by jaggynettle (Mon 8th Feb 2021 10:57pm)

  • Guy's a troll with absolutely no life. Check his account and have a laugh at him. It's sad. by jaggynettle (Tue 16th Feb 2021 4:49am)
  • I think they've been using the money to ensure ones at the top maintain excellent salaries and pensions, maybe still giving expenses to the new LP to buy designer underwear and hats and making sure there's some nice fancy biscuits at their meetings. Us merely peasants will be forced to suffer the consequences of this by living in neighbourhoods that have been transformed into actual middens, with the 1.3 million Glaswegian rodents increasing in population every month. by jaggynettle (Tue 16th Feb 2021 4:39am)
  • They've got plenty of dosh. They've been putting council tax up. And this situation has existed long before covid19 so the pandemic cannot be blamed. by jaggynettle (Tue 16th Feb 2021 4:31am)
  • Erm... your comment makes no sense. It's a Holyrood election in May not local elections. Even if SNP weren't voted in this May, they'd still be running GCC until 2022. by jaggynettle (Tue 16th Feb 2021 4:26am)
  • It's a Scottish GE in May not council elections. by jaggynettle (Tue 16th Feb 2021 4:20am)
  • I say the best collective action is that everyone in Glasgow stops paying council tax. But unlikely for that to happen. by jaggynettle (Tue 16th Feb 2021 4:17am)
  • I highly doubt that. by jaggynettle (Tue 16th Feb 2021 12:59pm)
  • Aren't the buses and trains run by private companies? That's probably how the prices are going up. If those services were publicly owned we'd probably be able to have much better fares/prices. • It's the same with my house. I live in a main door property. A lot of the ones that come into my house are bigger than a 50p, much bigger. And quite hairy too. I think this is the start of mating season, usually October is the main mating season for spiders though. When it's raining a lot most of the time they will seek somewhere warmer and drier. I've noticed more tend to come inside when it's raining. I had about 5 spiders in my bedroom the space of about 3 days last week. Makes my skin crawl. by jaggynettle (Sat 4th Sep 2021 9:48am)
  • The science Centre is closed permanently? I used to work there. Kinda glad I wasn't still working there when this pandemic happened then. by jaggynettle (Sat 4th Sep 2021 10:00am)

  • They do this with mine too! They leave my bins halfway down the street from my house instead of putting them back where they were. Wtf. by jaggynettle (Wed 27th Oct 2021 12:05am)
  • How the fuck do they get away with it. by jaggynettle (Wed 27th Oct 2021 12:16am)

  • Flooding maybe? Just a guess. by jaggynettle (Sat 30th Oct 2021 2:45am)

  • They've probably got the collective IQ of room temperature. Most probably can't read, spell, write or do basic arithmetic. This is how their brains operate. They regress to about the age of 11 or 12, when big sparkle go boom boom is funny and cool. by jaggynettle (Sat 6th Nov 2021 5:31pm)
  • If it's in an area where local shops are a bit too far away, sometimes the van coming round can be handy. That's the only reason I can think of why it would be round at that time in freezing cold weather. by jaggynettle (Sat 6th Nov 2021 5:49pm)

  • I've seen streets like this when there isn't a strike on. by jaggynettle (Sun 7th Nov 2021 2:36pm)
  • According to Susan Aitken we're all making it up though. God, I cannot stand that utter fud of a woman. by jaggynettle (Sun 7th Nov 2021 2:36pm)
  • You do realise it's not only council tax that pays for things? Even if council tax didn't exist, local government still get a budget and money to spend from central government... You know how this works, surely, right? So they don't actually need to raise council tax to pay their workers decent wages. Cental government should be increasing the amount of money given to local authorities. by jaggynettle (Sun 7th Nov 2021 2:43pm)
  • They're actually trying to hire more people but no one is applying for the jobs. Can you really blame people not wanting to work for GCC? They treat staff like utter shite and it's not worth the money either. by jaggynettle (Sun 7th Nov 2021 2:40pm)
  • Agreed. They spend more money on having meetings with their fancy biscuits. Not to mention the last Lord Provost was buying designer knickers, dresses and hats with our money. But decent wages for workers... oh, there's none apparently. We need to keep that money by in case someone at the top needs some expressive new curtains for their office or something. by jaggynettle (Sun 7th Nov 2021 2:49pm)
  • "Bettering myself" You sound like a right wee fanny btw. by jaggynettle (Sun 7th Nov 2021 2:46pm)
  • Sure. I don't see anything wrong with someone getting another job with better pay or working conditions. But you do realise you're being downvoted because you sound like a pretentious, stuck up cunt by say "bettering myself." Makes you look like you think you're better than other people because they empty bins for a living and you don't. You do realise we actually need binmen, right? And that we should be grateful for them willing to take on a job like that, right? There's no need to talk down other people just because you think you're better than them. My friend is a binman, with decent college education. He's struggling to find work so works at GCC as a binman. Be a bit more mature and maybe realise there's more to why people are emptying bins for a living. by jaggynettle (Sun 7th Nov 2021 2:54pm)
  • Lol! I know, it's a total joke. It's as if they just give the job to anyone. Can't stand her. by jaggynettle (Sun 7th Nov 2021 2:56pm)
  • Simmer down, you. It's no useless. It's factual. And well, aye... tax goes up. It's only natural that if you want better services the tax increases. I'm just saying if council tax didn't exist, local government would still get money either way. by jaggynettle (Sun 7th Nov 2021 3:24pm)
  • Haha. Wow. That's a mouthful. Didn't mean to clearly insult you. And this is Reddit... on the Internet... the Internet isn't any country. Haha. Karen. Shite patter tbh. You know, for someone who "bettered" themselves, you seem to have a massive chip on your shoulder. You don't seem that happy but kind of angry. • Is it a private let or housing association? If it's a housing association, if you and the neighbours get together and complain, each in writing (a formal complaint), if your housing association is good enough (some are rank rotten) they may send out a handyman to clear some of it. This happened when I lived in a flat in Maryhill. The bins were in such a mess I kept complaining, taking photos etc as evidence... Eventually, they sent out someone to clear it up. The housing association also launched a complaint to GCC as it was mostly their fault as binmen would refuse to empty bins etc. by jaggynettle (Tue 9th Nov 2021 9:06pm)

  • >I really think they need to make people resit their tests and frequently. I've been saying this for ages now. Why not have people retake their driving test and theory test every 5 years or so? I know it doesn't matter what age people are in the sense that people of all ages can be careless drivers, but there are some people who last took a drivers test or theory test in the 60s/70s/80s and it's crazy to think you just need to have done it that one time and that's that. Personally, I think driving knowledge and skills need to be constantly on the upkeep. I don't know if it would make a difference but it certainly is worth a go. by jaggynettle (Mon 13th Feb 2023 8:11pm)

The fact they asked you more than once why you pick up litter is astounding. Like I said, I remember being 14 and understanding that excess litter on the streets = more rats and filth. Wtf is wrong with some of these kids these days, seriously... by jaggynettle (Tue 21st Feb 2023 4:00am)
  • I always remember when I was in primary school (I'm 35 now, god I'm getting old lol) our teachers would always teach us the importance of putting rubbish in the bin and never to be a litterbug! The janitor would watch out for weans littering the playground and make them pick it up and bin it. I also remember we used to once a week or so spend an afternoon with a litter grabber (which we always thought was so cool for some reason lol) and we would go around the playground picking up bits of litter if there was any lying about. I don't know if this is even still being done in schools anymore but if it isn't they should definitely bring it back. by jaggynettle (Tue 21st Feb 2023 4:05am)

  • Honestly, the best thing to do is eliminate their food source. There isn't much can be done about them chewing through your plastic bins as rats will typically chew through most materials, including steel if they are stubborn enough. It might be a pain, but instead of throwing your take-out food in your own bin toss it in the nearest public litter bin. The worst thing you can do is have food packets and papers accessible to them, as they not only eat leftover food but they will eat the paper packets too. Rats have been known to eat paper, cardboard and plastic, they have become very adaptable to digesting all sorts of materials. by jaggynettle (Thu 13th Apr 2023 10:15pm)

  • Except they have been picking and choosing - people with blank signs protesting the monarchy for example. Didn't happen too long ago. Surely you remember. by jaggynettle (Wed 14th Jun 2023 7:53pm)
  • No. Because this is not a minority group who have been fighting for basic human rights for years. by jaggynettle (Wed 14th Jun 2023 7:54pm)
  • It's a little naive of you to think this tbh. These people can believe whatever the hell they want. But this "protest" isn't a protest... it's harassment of women. You can have your belief and not be a cunt at the same time but for these scumbags, it's not about just believing in something. It's about hating women for having the choice to what they want. These are the same exact people who complain about single parents and too many children in the system. They don't give a fuck what happens to the babies once they're born. They complain about them. And yes. I absolutely can compare them saying "my body, my choice" about themselves but denying it for pregnant women. Because they are fucking hypocrites. The fact they think a woman is an incubator the minute a clump of cells attaches to her womb is fucking medieval. She is not an incubator, she is a fully grown, breathing living human being. A clump of cells living does not have the right to live inside her if she doesn't want it there. A clump of cells does not suddenly make the woman's life inferior. So no. Fuck these stupid arseholes for standing outside and harassing women. They don't give a fuck for our freedoms or beliefs so I don't give a fuck for theirs. by jaggynettle (Thu 15th Jun 2023 12:51pm)
  • >Many women should not get pregnant for multiple reasons, but do, because contraceptives fail. That's the thing with these "pro-lifers" - they'll say "well, don't have sex then" - because really it's about controlling women and the thought of women having sex because they enjoy it makes them angry. I always laugh at the idiocy of these people - they will say they are "pro-life" but when a baby is born, put into the system because it's unwanted or brought up by a single parent, they complain and moan their tits off about it. What's even funnier is when that baby becomes a part of a broken system that fails it and the it grows up to be a criminal - the very same idiots who pleased for it to be born in the first place are now calling for it to get the death penalty. Couldn't make it up. by jaggynettle (Thu 15th Jun 2023 12:58pm)

  • >still can't make the correlation as to where waking me up in the middle of the night is "fun". These are people who have never had a real job, the only "job" they've ever had is selling smack and cocaine to people. So they think it's "fun" to wake people up in the middle of the night because it's not them that need to get up early in the morning for work. by jaggynettle (Thu 15th Jun 2023 2:21pm)
  • There's a bit too much protection in this comment tbh. You obviously think needing a noisy car is what makes your life not boring. That's just sad mate. Maybe instead of having your feet on the accelerator all the time, put them on the grass every now and then and get a life. by jaggynettle (Thu 15th Jun 2023 2:40pm)
  • 3 times you sent this one comment to me for some reason. No. It's just sad attention seeking and makes me pity you. by jaggynettle (Thu 15th Jun 2023 2:47pm)
  • Same. I love cars too and I'm a massive F1 fan. But these halfwits who drive down residential areas in loud cars are fucking irritating. It's attention seeking at its finest. • >Reddit is glitching, Ah. OK. And nope. I'm not wrong. You might not like someone pointing out the truth to you, but it's attention seeking plain and simple. It's sad as fuck but true. by jaggynettle (Thu 15th Jun 2023 2:52pm)

  • Lol. I really couldn't give a damn about what you "literally" do for a living. Idiots who have noisy cars are attention seekers. I know it's really winding you up to hear someone tell you straight. Truth hurts, I guess. by jaggynettle (Thu 15th Jun 2023 2:58pm)
  • Oof. You need to take a chill pill. Getting your knickers in a bit of a twist, eh? Wee bit of rambling going on there. Anyway. Sorry the truth about hearing that you're an attention seekers upset you. But take it on the chin and accept it for what it is. Sad attention seeking. But I suppose you'll continue to chase your tail here and go round in circles lol. • Is that a roll cloud? by jaggynettle (Sat 17th Jun 2023 12:25pm)
  • Well, this isn't America or Wisteria Lane. No one needs to be friends with neighbours or have any interaction with them if they don't want to. And no offence, but just go to the shop and buy eggs, why ask your neighbours? Use the communal garden, no one will stop you, but no, don't use other people's garden furniture. Buy and use your bloody own. Of course, you're too stingy to buy eggs so I doubt you'll buy your own garden furniture. I lived next door to students a few years ago in a close. Their parents bought the flat for them (which cost around £100,000+) - but then they had the cheek to come to my door one day asking if they can borrow a baking tray 🀨 there was also other weird experiences with these students too. But anyway, my point is there seems to be a pattern here with some students. Entitlement. You wanted your neighbour to give you eggs, then you want to use their garden furniture? Trust me it's nothing to do with your age. I'm not meaning for this post to come across as mean, just honest. by jaggynettle (Sun 18th Jun 2023 7:39pm)
  • Out of curiosity, why do you care so much? Lol. Maybe I just don't understand because I don't care about being friends with neighbours. by jaggynettle (Sun 18th Jun 2023 7:43pm)
  • 🀣🀣 by jaggynettle (Sun 18th Jun 2023 7:48pm)
  • Exactly! The thought of being "pals" with my neighbours gives me willies. I get a "Two Doors Down" scenario stuck in my head when I even imagine it. by jaggynettle (Sun 18th Jun 2023 7:46pm)
  • I am expressing my opinion on my experiences. Nothing wrong with that. It's your opinion if you think it's "over the top" but it is what it is. I'm not assuming the worst at all. You can't just use someone else's furniture - that's what you call... entitlement. So aye, neighbours might get the wrong impression of you if you behave like a child without basic social norms or understanding. It's actually really simple. Buy your own eggs and ASK if you can use their furniture. I don't understand how people can be intelligent enough to get a university degree but not intelligent enough when it comes to common sense. If you're neighbours don't want to include you then just take hint. You're only going to annoy them even more or cause them to dislike you more if you overdo it. If the furniture taking up too much room bothers you... talk to them about it? Like I said. Common sense. If you've got the balls to ask them for eggs then you can surely talk to them about this. Honestly, it sounds like they're just unfriendly. So why would you want to jump through hoops for people you don't even know? Never mind them. 🀷🏼‍♀️ by jaggynettle (Sun 18th Jun 2023 8:00pm)

I adopted my cat from them 5 years ago, and he's an indoor cat due to a medical condition he has. I have noticed though that lately CP only seem to have outdoor cats. I think most cats are probably outdoor cats tbh. But you could try the SSPCA. They sometimes have indoor cats. by jaggynettle (Wed 5th Jul 2023 4:38pm)

  • Nope. Someone said they answered the door to these telly gestapo goons and they said even if you're not watching BBC and watch any kind of live TV, including news channels like Sky news or even watching things live on YouTube or Amazon Prime... you need to pay a license. Lol. Obviously these telly gestapo cunts were full of shite but they will use any tactic to try and scare cunts. by jaggynettle (Sun 6th Aug 2023 2:03pm)
  • There was a video on YouTube of one of these telly license cunts trying to access a guy's property, holding a paper saying "I have a signed warrant." Kept repeating it and the guy said let me see it, I want to read it. The guy grabbed it off him and started laughing. It was an application FOR a warrant lol. But he was lying to the guy saying it was a signed one. Guy told him to piss off. This was in England, of course. But it goes to show how sad these telly gestapo cunts are.
