  • I’ve lived in Glasgow my whole life but I’ve never understood the level of rabidity football causes. Why the fuck does it have this effect on people? You’re paying money to watch millionaires play a sport, why is this such a massive thing for so many people? I understand having hobbies and interests but like? What the fuck. by spacebyte (Sun 16th May 2021 6:24am)
  • There’s a really respected hamster breeder in Glasgow and I believe this is where she takes her animals. I know rats aren’t the same as hamsters but I keep mice and the thing seems to be if they’re good with one pocket pet they’re good with them all. The lawrie is absolutely amazing if you have a car. Specialist as. Expensive though. I have also had good experience at hyndland street myself. by spacebyte (Sat 18th Sep 2021 5:11pm)
  • What, for council tax changes you mean? I guess we also have the lease. The council tax portion of their site has been on and off this week, can't wait to phone them and deal with that by spacebyte (Wed 9th Mar 2022 6:33am)
  • Yes this was my kind of question at the moment, is moving going to give me the opportunity to bounce onto something fixed to save me from the October rise. Maybe save me. At least to give me the understanding of how fucked I am every month somewhat in advanced. by spacebyte (Wed 9th Mar 2022 6:36am)
  • I've put in for a quote. Last time we moved my dad hired an Arnold Clark van and nearly fell down the stairs carrying a desk so he's tapped out this time. Couch balancing professionals is what we need by spacebyte (Wed 9th Mar 2022 6:43am)
  • I got an ASD assessment after years, it lasted about 15 mins and was told I was “socialised wrong”, “a bit weird but not autistic” and “women don’t usually have these things” 🥲 I haven’t struggled in a while (wfh has been a dream) but yeah the nhs in Glasgow for this stuff seems very difficult. by spacebyte (Wed 30th Mar 2022 8:10pm)
  • That’ll be the bunting on Paisley road west then, I thought the queen had died when I got up for a cup of tea 🤦‍♀️ the 12th isn’t until the 12th ya wee freaks. Didn’t think gcc would allow the bunting! Lived in Glasgow all my life but never so close to an orange lodge this time of year, can’t fuckin wait. by spacebyte (Fri 1st Jul 2022 5:18pm)
  • We moved in the new year to a place with £300 lower rent on the other side of the city- we both wfh so no commuting money. All electric, smaller flat, much cheaper council tax band too. Hoping that we’d save a bit and be able to put more into the deposit savings. We are pretty much net the same 🥲 electric has shot up, everything else has creeped up in price, I think food is the absolute killer. Not worse off, but not better off in the smaller flat. And I’m a software engineer, fuck knows how everyone else is getting on (from what’s hear from my non software engineer friends- it’s looking grim. Looks like winters at my place, gather round the electric heater) by spacebyte (Fri 19th Aug 2022 5:09pm)
  • To the guy at the gym in the west end this morning who saw my fat sweaty arse struggling with whatever torture my PT was putting me through and said “well done by the way that’s difficult” - thank you. I was in too much discomfort to respond at the time. The gym is hard and embarrassing, thank you for being kind. by spacebyte (Sat 10th Sep 2022 11:14am)
  • Is the southside in a different year than the rest of Glasgow or is this shocking to others- I just got a phone book through my door. Like a book with people's actual house numbers in it. I have been living in Glasgow for 8 years now and not once have I recieved a phone book before now, but it's my first year living in the southside. What is this. by spacebyte (Thu 3rd Nov 2022 12:01pm)
  • Like my mum and granny did have big yellow pages in theirs growing up but I was a wee girl. I can't remember one actually coming through a letterbox 😅 by spacebyte (Thu 3rd Nov 2022 8:02pm)
  • I grew up in clydebank so not a million miles away and I cant remember the last time my mum got one there 😂 it just seems too weird. Ive never even had a landline as an adult. by spacebyte (Thu 3rd Nov 2022 8:00pm)
  • Do any of you use the gym at the quay? How busy is it looking/is it calming down? I am going to switch my membership to allow me in to multiple gyms and I know atm west end is full with resolutioners. I’d like to start going to the one nearest my house too but I’d prefer when it’s not so busy. Weird one to judge though? I’m not sure how busy it is usually. by spacebyte (Mon 16th Jan 2023 8:29am)
  • The app only does it for my “home gym”. The google estimates of how busy it is are all over the place 🥲 I just want to embarrass myself in front of the least amount of people. Last year in January I switched medicines and started having an asthma attack in front of all the new starts and I don’t think I’ll ever recover from the embarrassment. Let me die in a corner by myself where no one can see at the crack of dawn pls. by spacebyte (Mon 16th Jan 2023 12:20pm)
  • So mornings is good? Thank you for the insight by spacebyte (Mon 16th Jan 2023 12:30pm)
  • I have a masters degree in comp Sci and I worked retail/odd admin jobs from when I was 16 until I graduated. After I graduated too cause my grad job didn't start for months and I had rent to pay. Get the digit out if you're this bad a time management, or you're in for a shock after graduation 😂 by spacebyte (Sat 21st Jan 2023 7:26am)
  • Weird they care, I've never had an issue? The hamsters (and even the mice!) I've had letting agents laugh at me for even thinking I needed to ask. I was always up front and the letting agents were like yeah as long as it's not a dog or a fishtank we don't care. Where I live now we have a dog the landlord is aware of and some very elderly mice we won't be replacing that I forgot to mention as I was so worried about getting permission for the dog. It wasn't commented on at inspection time. Our cage is a large tank and wouldn't fit in a cupboard so we just had to keep it out, if you had a portable one you could give to a friend on inspection day- they have to give notice. I did have a mad landlady accuse me of letting my hamster chew on her rug. It was a horrible old thing that we put in the cupboard the whole time we lived there and replaced with our own rug, and very clearly frayed when we moved in. I had photo evidence. She didn't like that, but "take photos of everything with datestamps" is one to remember. by spacebyte (Sat 21st Jan 2023 7:39am)
  • I wish they made this stuff more clear. We asked mortgage advisor at the bank and we're like yeah we have £££££ for a deposit what is the next step and he practically laughed. The value on the home report is what you can get a mortgage on. If it goes over that you have to pay the difference. I don't understand how much people go over though, I've been kind of sitting and watching places we'd be interested in while we save more and in some cases it feel like you'd need to save double a deposit to cover the money over + fees. by spacebyte (Mon 23rd Jan 2023 9:04am)
  • We are so limited because neither of us can drive and we have to be within distance of work. Can't even properly look yet because we were also told my partners employment was going to exclude us too- hes getting a full time contract in a few months to make it look better. And like I said what we saved want enough :/ maybe later in the year. Never bought a house before and never knew anyone who had, kind of thought 10%, good credit and my job would kind of cover bases. Have since learned! Thank you for the advice I am dreading it 😂 by spacebyte (Tue 24th Jan 2023 6:27am)
  • The part time/fluffy contracts were there partially so as not to interfere with phd funding lmao. He graduates soon and will be going on to a full research position doing more of the same, the contract was going to happen either way :) Thank you! Maybe this time next year we will be in a similar position 😅 by spacebyte (Tue 24th Jan 2023 9:04am)
  • We have one standard sized blue bin between 7 flats. It's emptied once a fortnight, and filled on day one of being emptied. We usually have to take the recycling to a large bin a few streets up. I look forward to them trying to cram another one to our overcrowded bin shed. 😂 Honestly though they should empty the recycling more frequently if they're going to empty the regular bin every second week. by spacebyte (Fri 27th Jan 2023 12:43pm)
  • I think we are entitled to have more than that but the bin sheds are small in the buildings we are in. It would be good if there were more public recycling near us because of this- the one public plastic/cardboard bin in walking distance is full sometimes when we get there :/ we want to recycle but it is not as easy as places I've lived before. I don't understand how they do bins tbh. Half the cul-de-sac is a different postcode and so has a different bin day than the flats on our side too, seems inefficient but what do I know 🤔 by spacebyte (Fri 27th Jan 2023 3:23pm)
  • Yeah I can’t drive or cycle and I get everyone’s talking a car perspective but honestly off the fuckin pavement. I don’t even think it’s legal. I’ve had a lot of scary near misses with cyclists on the pavement. I get it if there’s little kids and your accompanying them slowly but electric bikes?! The cycle paths may be rubbish but you’re going to take someone out :( by spacebyte (Wed 1st Feb 2023 7:16am)
  • If you’re the flat below the light strip do you have to get blackout curtains? We need insider info. by spacebyte (Fri 3rd Feb 2023 8:56am)
  • Yeah I didn’t realise you needed at least double the 10% deposit until I’d saved the 10% deposit 😵‍💫 by spacebyte (Fri 3rd Feb 2023 9:55am)
  • 100 on electric only for a two bed where we both work from home. Not heating it. When it was a bit colder I put the radiator on in one room while the clothes were drying to prevent condensation. For the past month its just been blankets and extra layers if we're cold though. by spacebyte (Sat 11th Feb 2023 8:23pm)
  • Has Anniesland not got loads of holes underneath it? Mines? by spacebyte (Wed 15th Feb 2023 4:02pm)
  • I've noticed more and more them putting tape on bits of rubbish that say "environmental crime scene". Why are they paying someone to do that instead of picking it up? I know it's illegal/shitty thing to do and they need to investigate it but why add to the mess? They never come back for it. https://news.stv.tv/west-central/fly-tipping-locations-to-be-taped-off-as-environmental-crime-scenes by spacebyte (Tue 21st Feb 2023 7:36am)
  • So you’re a student and a homeowner? Ask for quotes from other factors and talk to the people in your building about moving to a different one I think is the only option other than moving or budgeting. Have you taken the council tax reduction just in case you forgot that? by spacebyte (Fri 3rd Mar 2023 5:54pm)
  • Are you renting? It’s your landlords problem? by spacebyte (Fri 3rd Mar 2023 5:50pm)
  • I’d contact shelter and they’ll be able to tell you what counts as like a reasonable price rise and what your options are. An income less than £80 a month they can probably point you to other help too? by spacebyte (Fri 3rd Mar 2023 6:31pm)
  • I heard this but he *talked* backwards. Which makes even less sense tbh. by spacebyte (Sat 4th Mar 2023 9:17am)
  • I had to google to see if Blancolo was still going - they are and somehow still offering £10 piercings in this year 2023. I remember they did a stamp card where your tenth was free. Every single piercing on everyone I knew was squint. You’re right, do not go ever, it’s there to trick skint 16-19 year olds into getting wee infections 😂 by spacebyte (Sun 5th Mar 2023 8:11am)
  • If nothing happens you’re meant to walk up to the drivers window and tap off there apparently?? A bus driver yelled at me for this a few weeks ago. The tap off never works and I’m not pushing past everyone while the bus is moving/they’re trying to get off to tap next to the driver!? by spacebyte (Sun 5th Mar 2023 8:40am)
  • We always have had fun at this one: Locked In Escape Room Glasgow https://maps.app.goo.gl/CAiqTHeJebH6b6ZQ7?g_st=ic The surgery room is good fun for that many. by spacebyte (Thu 9th Mar 2023 2:51pm)
  • I use gett after some uber account fuck up. It’s just black cabs all over again though. by spacebyte (Thu 9th Mar 2023 5:59pm)
  • I don't really know why you'd pick fixed contract *anything* while renting. Landlords are flakes. by spacebyte (Mon 13th Mar 2023 12:38pm)
  • A rent raise or too long to fix things/leaving things dangerous can make you want to move out on your own terms suddenly though too be out from under them. It takes a lot of confidence to say you'll be in the same position two years down the line by spacebyte (Mon 13th Mar 2023 2:11pm)
  • I am also on jury duty next week and was bringing my own lunch anyway if I was picked because of food allergies, but thanks for mentioning bringing a book, I've never been before. Not look g forward to it! by spacebyte (Wed 22nd Mar 2023 9:38am)
  • I am not trusting them with anaphylaxis lmao. Might get me out of it forever if I almost died at court though? 🤔 by spacebyte (Wed 22nd Mar 2023 10:24am)
  • I swear half the places round kinning park / the quay are for laundering money or something though. Might be mega portions? That’s got to be a lot of soups for £20 though. by spacebyte (Thu 23rd Mar 2023 9:17pm)
  • I had a quick google maps check and the portions are regular. And I know importing food from Africa can be expensive (my partner gets childhood snacks sent sometimes lmao) but what are you importing for a £15 chicken tomato and cucumber salad(?) mystery. by spacebyte (Thu 23rd Mar 2023 11:24pm)
  • My sister just first time bought and it went for a lot over what it was worth but she was so desperate after over a year of trying. I do not have specific numbers as that's her business, but it seemed more than the 10-15% people talk about from what's been insinuated. It needs some work done so she won't be able to get into it right away. On the other hand my sister in law decided to buy a house this year and had one within a month. She managed to get it at a fixed price. Nothing major wrong with it, ridiculously painted throughout but that's nothing structural. We are just starting to look at we have a deposit saved and my partner now has a full time permanent job. I am crossing my fingers we don't have to save double our deposit to get something that's just "okay". Fingers crossed for you! Let us know how you get on. I am curious what everyone else's anecdotal evidence will be like. by spacebyte (Sun 2nd Apr 2023 1:55pm)
  • We are £25 rolling for 150. Which is the same we were paying now for about 10 🙃 it will be great once all of Glasgow gets full fibre, not looking forward to moving by spacebyte (Thu 6th Apr 2023 6:57pm)
  • I think every burrito place on those apps is just bar burrito with a different name lmao by spacebyte (Mon 10th Apr 2023 4:14pm)
  • My dog is so spooked by greyhounds. No idea what happened! They seem like sweet dogs but we have to avoid them :( by spacebyte (Thu 13th Apr 2023 6:16pm)
  • See quite a few collies round cessnock. by spacebyte (Thu 13th Apr 2023 6:15pm)
  • No she’s more medium sized. Never had a bad experience as far as we are aware! by spacebyte (Thu 13th Apr 2023 8:07pm)
  • Did they not redo all the cladding on the wyndford flats not too long ago? I can’t remember if it was before or after grenfell, I lived nearby fora few years but moved 2018. by spacebyte (Tue 18th Apr 2023 8:07am)
  • Usually they do have a month to month option? Now TV certainly does as does hyperoptic. A dongle/4G connection might also be good. by spacebyte (Thu 20th Apr 2023 11:54am)
  • Glenbrae in dumbarton did ours many many years ago. Give them a wee check? Hyndland street did have a "small animal guy" a few years back who did surgery on my hamsters of all things! But if they're saying they don't normally do it I guess rabbits aren't small enough or he's not there. If you have transport the lawrie is where you want to go really! by spacebyte (Fri 21st Apr 2023 6:00pm)
  • There is a woman in Scotland campaigning for this right now who has had multiple miscarriages due to domestic abuse. https://www.heraldscotland.com/politics/23112491.men-whose-abuse-leads-miscarriage-escaping-prosecution-scotland/ I think England have some law for this but we don't. No idea what the situation is when it's a murder like this :( by spacebyte (Fri 28th Apr 2023 11:48am)
  • There was a guy years back who did shit like this near Maryhill student accommodation. He would be there every evening and would follow lone women. Me and my flatmate reported it. The police came and took statements and got us to identify him. I think he had been known to do this for a while and had previously offended more seriously. He pled guilty so we didn't need to go to court? But there was def a case. I remember them asking if he had caused us genuine distress as a question. I don't know if any of that is helpful but from this experience I think it's probably a crime and the police shoud do *something* if you tell them. by spacebyte (Fri 5th May 2023 5:46pm)
  • When I volunteered in a charity shop we took old shit clothes and sold them to the ‘rag man’ who was a guy in a wee van (?) for money. I think it was just textile recycling where you get paid per kg but the charity got it. Idk if the policies have changed, it probably varies depending on the shop. Give one of the bigger charity shops a phone and see if they know about donating for recycling (maybe don't ask for the rag man) by spacebyte (Sun 7th May 2023 1:02pm)
  • I reported all our regular street bins overflowing on Sunday and they’re still not collected. I think they’re just having a week off due to the bank holiday 🙄 by spacebyte (Fri 12th May 2023 9:11am)
  • I 100% get the bin collection guys should have had Monday off. But our area is bad for home bin collection (too few bins for too many flat, no food recycling) so it gets pretty desperate when all the street bins are full too. The council tax bill is our biggest bill after rent, it would jus the nice not to have to fight over bin space. by spacebyte (Fri 12th May 2023 10:42am)
  • See if it was a washing machine at 1am or something,100% right to be pissed off, but it's footsteps. If you're not dancing before 7am I'd ignore them. by spacebyte (Sat 20th May 2023 5:57pm)
  • Do I go to the council or the factor about neighbours leaving mess in the shared garden? New family has moved to a house down the road with load of weans. Weans play in the shared garden of the flats. Whatever. They’re a mild nuisance but they’re weans. But they leave so much mess. There’s balloons, wrappers, glitter and toys all over the grass. The parents don’t give a fuck, they’ve dragged a mattress and part of a couch out to the garden and let the weans play on them (grotty). This is a shared garden for at least 60 flats and they’ve just covered the whole thing in shite. Is it us the residents who need to clean it? Who to we contact about the furniture? :/ by spacebyte (Tue 23rd May 2023 11:32am)
  • They don’t live in the flats, they live in the houses at the end of the street :/ they have their own garden they could fuck up if they wanted! I’ll let them know about the mattress and see what they say. by spacebyte (Tue 23rd May 2023 2:30pm)
  • The mattress and couch have been disposed of at some point this afternoon. Might pick the rubbish up and leave it in a bag at their door for them though. by spacebyte (Tue 23rd May 2023 4:09pm)
  • This was in England, standard "no pets" clause stays the same in Scotland. (Don't think the change in England is going to do many people much good either, the landlord can make some shit up about allergies or insurance or whatever and refuse you anyway, they just have to give you a letter with a refusal now instead of it being baked in.) by spacebyte (Wed 24th May 2023 11:31pm)
  • I’m so glad I don’t work at JPM anymore. Salaries lower but I’m not full on mental 😍 by spacebyte (Fri 23rd Jun 2023 8:19pm)
  • I was an intern / grad and got told off for asking too many questions. Some of the people on the team were nasty. There was one comment that really stuck in my head- there was a woman on the team next to mine that some of the guys didn’t like and I heard one of them wishing while she was out that her hospital appointment was for something serious 🙃 I seriously considered bouncing back to retail, I panicked so hard that I was in the wrong field. You’re right about it being slow- every other dev job I’ve had I’ve learned more in weeks than I did in months at JP, and I’ve met plenty of weirdos but no proper nasty bastards. Much happier now it’s behind me. by spacebyte (Fri 23rd Jun 2023 11:02pm)
  • Aw I remember the graduate apprentices. They were doing the same work as us for so little money and they didn’t get a bonus. That was surely less than minimum wage. There were guys like that working late hours and they had kids. You’re so replaceable go home see your wean. But it seemed some were so dedicated to it. The atmosphere was bad. by spacebyte (Sat 24th Jun 2023 9:25am)
  • When you live round here you just get in the habit of checking here on the regular so you know when to avoid the crowds tbh. A few coming up : https://www.rangers.co.uk/matches/mens-fixtures/AspTKSwoJQCzAqaBnP73A by spacebyte (Tue 18th Jul 2023 11:02pm)
  • Honestly they’re so good for the price, I wish I lived near asda 😂 by spacebyte (Thu 20th Jul 2023 10:01pm)
  • There are cycle lanes at my bit and they still use the pavements, so you're right on the last point 😬 by spacebyte (Sat 22nd Jul 2023 10:46am)
  • I have a peanut allergy and a tree nut allergy and I've been fine ordering from both the lemon tree and zensation. It's weird. My peanut allergy is pretty bad (anaphylaxis) but I don't usually worry too much about Chinese food? I'd patch test new things by rubbing them on my hand and seeing if I get hives but that's it. Maybe I should worry more. My tree nut allergy is mild and I've had a few reactions to that at restaurants, always at places that swear up and down on their allergy menus! Indian food I've had reactions to. Will be looking into your suggestion 👀 by spacebyte (Tue 1st Aug 2023 8:48am)
  • Am worried on reflection that I'm reckless but never had an issue personally. Always a wee rub on an arm before trying something new but yeah, salt and chilli chips, chicken, chow mein, fried rice, it was good. Not in the delivery radius anymore but my sister lives close. Tempted to visit 😂 by spacebyte (Wed 2nd Aug 2023 11:44am)
  • They told me Christmas up north didn't count as an excuse and I should come back to glasgow for the time on the letter when I got selected for mid December 22. Felt like a real robot reply though. Pushed them again and someone more human responded saying I could get out of the December one but would be called again on the new year (I was, but same as OP, phone the line for a week and be told you're not needed) Dunno if you need the backing of "it's Christmas" for a uk holiday to count though. by spacebyte (Wed 30th Aug 2023 12:04pm)
  • My granny lived in one and there was a lane behind the row of houses the bins would go out in. by spacebyte (Sat 2nd Sep 2023 5:52pm)
  • How did they make your mouth guard? I’ve had the one with the mould and I’ve had the one with the 3D scan, 3D scan on fit much better/didn’t need to cut bits off it to stop it digging into my gums like the other commenter suggested :’) by spacebyte (Sat 2nd Sep 2023 5:50pm)
  • Mine fully covers my lower set of teeth, I’m having a hard time picturing upper front teeth only? I had mine done at 1smile but I don’t think it’s anything special, it’s weird your dentist would dismiss your concerns! 😵‍💫 I’m so teeth paranoid. I hope you find someone to sort you out! by spacebyte (Sun 3rd Sep 2023 2:57pm)
  • This NEVER works on any of the buses I’ve taken. I think I’ve got it to tap me off properly once. I just take the disapproval from the bus drivers and the people trying to get on the bus instead. by spacebyte (Fri 8th Sep 2023 10:50am)
  • The AA own BSM as far as I know. (I've been trying to look for lessons with both but they'll only offer "trainee" instructors in my area. I'm not comfortable with that. Think I just need to commit to searching for independent instructors.) by spacebyte (Tue 12th Sep 2023 12:07pm)
  • So many of them go over the valuation price (+ you need all the extra money for solicitors, moving, LBTT, whatever) so around about double that deposit to give you wiggling room 🫠 by spacebyte (Sat 16th Sep 2023 7:41am)
  • JP Morgan. Straight out of uni, raring to go on a software team. I think I got the worst one in the place. Working with internal tech, there wasnt really anything I could learn online about it, so I assumed team members would be happy to help me learn. They were not. I was given in trouble for asking too many questions. I just panicked all the time about not knowing what I was doing and got such minimal feedback. It really freaked me out, I thought I had wasted years at uni, if this is what software dev was like. I seriously considered going and begging for my old retail job back. Some of the team were so nasty. There was a middle aged woman who had retrained as a software dev and all the men would rip the piss out of her. She had a hospital appointment once and I heard one of the guys joke that he hoped it was something serious. Managers would not pull up on shit like this. She bounced not long before me. Everyone who worked there seemed to have been there for ten years or less than two. I guess it depends what you're wiling to put up with for money. Couldn't deal, dropped out of their grad scheme and the manager was so upset he reassigned me for the notice period. Did more work and learned more things in the last two weeks than the whole "graduate scheme" 🤦‍♀️ Every job I've had since has taught me so much and I love being a software dev. Truly just the worst job to start with I could have had. by spacebyte (Fri 22nd Sep 2023 8:06am)
  • Yeah I was going to ask do they not make any money back on the compost? Suppose it can't be very much / they probably just sell it on like you said by spacebyte (Sun 24th Sep 2023 8:32am)
  • We're the same. Our block has residents in all the flats for the first time in years and the bins are dire. Missed collection a few days ago and it's grim. Hoping they get back to the missed bin ticket soon by spacebyte (Wed 27th Sep 2023 1:55pm)
  • Yes I was going to say if it’s anything like a young scot card it’s not trustworthy, we were all changing our DOB on those lmao by spacebyte (Fri 6th Oct 2023 11:09pm)
  • Whereabouts in the city is this, I've been complaining about the public recycling bin not being emptied for weeks (We have one blue bin for 7 flats) and I'm just curious if this is a city wide fuck up or they're just refusing to send lorries through kinning park 🥲 by spacebyte (Tue 10th Oct 2023 7:18pm)
  • Bad for your health in what way? My first big software job out of uni was fucking grim for my health, mentally and physically. (Big company lots of money, long hours, horrible office, horrible people) but have since moved on and find the balance better at mid sized companies- start ups that actually made it somewhere kinda thing. I’m in a good routine with exercise and the colleagues are not unwashed and rude 😂 Maybe talk to some recruiters and see what’s out there? Find a career counsellor? Someone who know what kind of things you can do best with your skillset. by spacebyte (Thu 26th Oct 2023 8:26am)
  • I had mine a few weeks ago at the mosque and they did them both at once? Did they not ask you? My parents had theirs way before mine and it was a case of both at once as well. She did ask me if it was just the flu or both? Maybe some people only qualify for flu, you on preventative medicine? by spacebyte (Fri 27th Oct 2023 5:11pm)
  • My da is from whitecrook and says it. Always been a bit of a freak tho by spacebyte (Thu 2nd Nov 2023 12:28pm)
  • This is correct. My work pays for them with a weird system, I don't have a work credit card, I just use any of my cards and I can collect as though I'd booked it normally. by spacebyte (Tue 7th Nov 2023 10:57am)
  • I got a taxi at 4am to the airport and the whole journey the taxi driver just told us about how scared he was of "midgets" and his whole life story surrounding this fear. Could not get a word in edgeways. Thought I was asleep or hallucinating, it was weird as fuck. Has anyone else talked to this guy 🤔 by spacebyte (Sun 12th Nov 2023 9:18pm)
  • My mum and gran live in west Dunbartonshire and have absolutely none of the bin hassle I have been having. I don't drive or have weans so it seems this is my main council hassle 😂 I think I complained about them never emptying the public recycling bin so much they've just taken it away from us :/ by spacebyte (Wed 15th Nov 2023 12:00pm)
  • Don't want to start a whole thread because I can't be arsed but I will if I have to I guess. Who are the people to email about public bins! There's a mixed recycling bin at the subway station. A lot of the flats round about have no blue bin/one blue bin for 8 flats, so it's used really regularly. I'm well aware of the "please empty the bin" form because it's in so much use and often overflowing. But maybe I've bothered them about emptying it too much because the bins just gone now. Doesn't seem planned as its still listed as a bin on their wee map. No idea if the council or someone else took it, but it's been gone over a week now. I've tried filling out an online form but got no response. Who are the best people in the council to contact? by spacebyte (Wed 22nd Nov 2023 7:43am)
  • There is not sufficient space in the bin sheds for more bins. by spacebyte (Wed 22nd Nov 2023 10:03am)
  • Good shout, someone's already reported it there, here's hoping they bring it back. Interestingly the next nearest ones are also reported missing on this map, and have been for quite a while, so glad I didn't attempt that journey with my cardboard yet. Wonder what's going on. by spacebyte (Wed 22nd Nov 2023 10:06am)
  • When I was a student the accommodation cost about double a private rent. So we private rented. I get that's technically taking away a flat from the general rental market but there was no way we were affording student accommodation. No idea how it compares now though with the rate rents increased though. by spacebyte (Tue 28th Nov 2023 9:58pm)
