  • OK the reason is genuinely for your own protection I get that you might think that's patronising but too many people regret tattoos and if they're on show it's even worse also depends what you're after. Also if you're not heavily tattooed I doubt Steven will tattoo your hands. Trust me when I say that if you've been knocked back from so many artists then anyone willing to do it doesn't have your best interests at heart. It's also a case of career I dunno what age you are but if you make a major carrier change it can massively affect this. Again I understand you feel like your treated like a child it's because we get so many people regretting visable tattoos. I know this might not help you but it's advice you should take on too many people wanna start on necks/hands and faces and as an artist I have none of these areas done and this is my career cos I understand that it's a massive commitment and these days people don't see it is but it really is. My best advice is research your artist firstly, that's only practical advice I can give then they might actually take you on if your aware of what they specialise in. by Rainbow0ctopus (Fri 11th Jan 2019 12:19pm)
  • Not really I've tattooed peoples hands when I worked in studios who didn't give a fuck and wanted to take clients money over the art, I've met them since and they've regretted it. Gladly I don't work in an environment like that anymore. I hope you find someone but honestly artists aren't doing it to be dicks it's through experience. by Rainbow0ctopus (Fri 11th Jan 2019 12:28pm)
  • I don't think it is irresponsible but I've been aware he's knocked back stuff he doesn't wanna do like all good artists and that includes hands. I think it could be a case of perhaps the subject matter and as terrible as this sounds the look of the client. It's all taken into consideration, the reason why I think he perhaps might not, is because the op has said he's tried numerous places. Chances are one of these factors might be the reason. Maybe I'm wrong it's just me giving an insiders opinion. I genuinely would like to think if it's a decent idea and the client is sure minded and artist would do it giving the client the usual talk about healing etc... by Rainbow0ctopus (Fri 11th Jan 2019 1:36pm)
  • I'm not arguing he wouldn't I'm saying that perhaps there is a reason why the op has had so much bother. And I know that he's a good artist and if it was a shit idea he wouldn't. by Rainbow0ctopus (Fri 11th Jan 2019 1:49pm)
  • Yeah my friend is one of them, they dunno what's happening yet. I'm assuming I'll be having a guest for a bit. by Rainbow0ctopus (Fri 11th Jan 2019 4:29pm)
  • I think op forgot to add link, full close was evacuated at 6am this morning. 12 people taken to hospital. I've been told it was started in a know drug users house. Pretty bad by the looks of the pics. by Rainbow0ctopus (Fri 11th Jan 2019 8:00pm)
  • Try Caroline she's on social media under cherry on top hair. by Rainbow0ctopus (Sat 12th Jan 2019 6:01pm)
  • Yeah I've not been to her in a few years, kinda lost contact. Hope she's keeping ok by Rainbow0ctopus (Sun 13th Jan 2019 12:39am)
  • I had a similar experience took so many wrong turns, they seem to be getting worse recently. I was starting a new job and thankfully I leave 3 days before I need to cos the 8min journey was a 40min ordeal where he took me on the motorway to the airport. I tried not to be a dick but he clearly doesn't know how to follow a GPS or even drive it was a fucking joke. I reported it to uber got a refund. I still didn't have the heart to give him 1 star cos he did seem genuinely apologetic.... But yeah they're getting terrible, ordered one last week and I'm in the West end he was coming along Dumbarton Rd and next thing I knew he was heading through the tunnel, guessing another wrong roundabout exit. by Rainbow0ctopus (Tue 15th Jan 2019 7:58pm)
  • I'm sure this happens more than it should there's a few times I'm like it kinda looks like them but not seen their face enough to 100% know. by Rainbow0ctopus (Tue 15th Jan 2019 8:02pm)
  • I got a vegan hamper from Rose and Grants had loads of meat alternatives in it.... Wasn't keen but then I'm a non veggie that doesn't like the taste of meat so it might actually be good. The cream cheese from Bute food company was amazing though. by Rainbow0ctopus (Sat 19th Jan 2019 12:16am)
  • One on byres Rd don't, I was gutted but the city centre ones do. by Rainbow0ctopus (Sat 19th Jan 2019 1:12am)
  • Check out Esty, there's even a Glasgow Etsy group that do prints and posters. Or search glasgow. You'll get non generic shit too 😁 by Rainbow0ctopus (Sat 26th Jan 2019 10:41pm)
  • The Uv is different from the ones you get in the NHS. I've done both, I'm sallow skinned with very little moles. Take that into account too. Skin cancer is a shit tonne worse than psoriasis. But I find that HOT are the best to clear up my skin its the Vit D bed (I think it's all bullshit labelling tbh) but that and I buy the hemp tan enhancer only because I feel it helps mega moisturise my skin before I go in, and in Hot you can turn off the face tanner doesn't mean you won't be exposed though. I generally turn the fans on high and stick a light t-shirt over my face. Most of the staff aren't too clued up about psoriasis but you get the odd one that actually has it or is good they can recommend times. I also got told if you take vitd tablets 3 months up to the Uv exposure it can help. But that's a long prep. Also maybe see a different gp I was lucky a locum referred me without going though using steroids as I refused to use most topical treatment..... Its terrible long term for your skin. by Rainbow0ctopus (Tue 29th Jan 2019 11:10am)
  • It was Partick one I had it in, I'm guessing it was a gimmick...... I think they basically rebrand the bed names from time to time to attract different users. Guessing there wasn't any new benefits you wouldn't get from a regular bed. Hope it clears, I've had a terrible flare up for 5+ yrs I had a wedding and the locum reffered me for light therapy in the Western without me pestering about it. Try asking again..... Also one of my clients works on the derm desk in QEUH she says you can call them straight up. I've never tried it and I kinda feel that's bullshit or everyone would. But might be work a try, I can't remember she gave me the ward number to contact but forgot it. by Rainbow0ctopus (Fri 1st Feb 2019 5:09pm)
  • Thanks. I'll have a wee look. Did notice she's primarily a marriage counselling but I'll have a wee look into her. She seems pretty reasonable too. Thanks again by Rainbow0ctopus (Fri 22nd Feb 2019 8:44pm)
  • Thanks in a few days I'll have a look and contact all the suggested people but it's good to know you have similar issues thats why I wanted to ask here I don't want just a person that is recommended by Google I want actual experienced suggestions. Thanks again by Rainbow0ctopus (Fri 22nd Feb 2019 9:57pm)
  • Yeah I've tried online therapy and cbt myself the problem like most people when Im doing something like this myself I don't put aside the correct amount or quality time for it to actually have any affect. I reckon doing some 1-2-1 counselling then once I get some determination I can maybe carry on the best practices myself. But I'm all about sitting on my fat arse watching netflix when I should be productive. Just means if I get my arse out the house too that's another tick in the box. by Rainbow0ctopus (Fri 22nd Feb 2019 9:55pm)
  • Yeah I tried all the at home stuff. That's part of my problem I'm not motivated to do something off my own back. Hoping a few months - year of seeing someone and I can carry on without too many sessions. That's what I'm worried about with therapy I know it's totally down to the individual that's why I'm looking for therapists that people have seen that way I can start on the right track. I've already been to that website too thanks :) by Rainbow0ctopus (Sat 23rd Feb 2019 3:54pm)
  • I dunno why I have a few of these lassies on my Instagram story (the slightly more alternative ones) I fucking hate them, they're full of shite. The sad thing is I don't doubt when they started they had the best intentions, now I just think they're complete sell outs and happy to promote whatever pish companies will throw at them. I have 1 girl who I find particularly annoying (I think she might be mentioned in the thread) she is just constantly doing that "hi guys pish" videos where she talks without substance (she likes the sound of her own voice even if it cuts through you) . I enjoyed her in the early days but I get the impression she loves being Instagram famous. I feel bad for the younger generation that do feel the need to listen to these people. I'm no gonna lie I do wee videos etc on mine but would never dream of pushing agendas or products onto people. Mostly because I don't think I'm that important or knowledgeable. I would name the girls but I kinda think they're lurking here. by Rainbow0ctopus (Sat 6th Apr 2019 1:49am)
  • No I know what you mean.... Its like these cunts you find on YouTube that do a 30min video for a 90sec information piece but they fill it with irrelevant pish talking. You just need to hear a little snippet yet you have to hear why they think their hair looks cute today. However on the Instagram subject I follow an artist called @stolencomputer on Instagram who actually posts daily interesting content on his Instagram story. He does polls and play lists suggestions and I feel like he's stayed genuine even in his hike in followers. He's based in Glasgow and won't allow himself to be in the pics/videos cos he doesn't want to be Instagram famous. I love his art but genuinely love watching all his daily stories more. by Rainbow0ctopus (Sat 6th Apr 2019 9:26pm)
  • I have this problem I'm a 36yr old female and love a Monday night out.... But only place that's open is the garage and there's nothing worse that being cunts grans age on a night out. So on the back of this if anyone knows of a good Monday night that I'm no gonna appear on some ladbible article for being ancient in a nightclub that would be grand. by Rainbow0ctopus (Tue 9th Apr 2019 5:08pm)
  • I done it on a Thursday for my 30th.....which was (cough years ago) " 6 years ago" ... I had to leave a 100quid deposit which was stuck behind the bar and we got the big room cos I booked in plenty of time. If its a Japanese style karaoke experience you want I seen they've opened one on Bath Street, it's purely karaoke. However I'm sure when I looked into it the price was steep. Worth checking though. But yeah hummingbird done the trick cos I had an 80s themed night. by Rainbow0ctopus (Sat 13th Apr 2019 8:32pm)
  • I'm the same, I'm 36..... Cannae dance to shit these days. My friend is 39 she struggles to get friends who are willing to go out too. Both 90s (teenagers) by Rainbow0ctopus (Sun 14th Apr 2019 8:11pm)
  • Yeah I started last month, had two sessions. I decided to go along with u/kayo89 suggestion just based on the websites and what each one had said. Its good to still have a few extra suggestions incase it doesn't work out or I feel like I don't have a connection. Thanks again by Rainbow0ctopus (Sun 21st Apr 2019 9:51pm)

  • Yip as a tattooist you'll have to do a bit of travelling. I've travelled to Germany, Spain, Sydney and Tokyo for the right artists. Might be worth doing that. There's an Italian guy called Brando Chiesa that might not be too much of a trek with Ryanair. by Rainbow0ctopus (Mon 20th May 2019 7:44pm)

  • £450 rent for a 2 bed flat in West end (I'm lucky I know the landlord) £120 council tax £30 phone and broadband £42 electric (no gas I'm in a high rise) £33 mobile phone £60-100 on non essential subscriptions like netflix, Spotify etc (basically stuff if I was skint I could cancel) You can live on less than £100 a month for food if you budget and shop around For me it's about £700-800 total for all bills that I can't cancel or avoid including a wee credit card bill. by Rainbow0ctopus (Mon 27th May 2019 1:41am)

  • I'm happy to deal with him, I have customer service experience of 16 years plus, I've dealt with my fair share of arseholes. I just dunno how to handle the complaints I know everyone would probably say this whether it's true or not but it's totally an overreaction. Really banging up at me hoovering in the afternoon. As I said this arseholes isn't cut out to live in a flat, I've been told it gives his wife anxiety..... Fuck I've got anxiety now everytime I move by Rainbow0ctopus (Mon 24th Jun 2019 5:32pm)
  • Yeah I was expecting him to chap my door, I was gonna film him. Also contemplating a RING doorbell. I know what it's like to have cunty neighbours who play music at all hours and are abusive but he's taking the piss if I can't hoover on a Monday afternoon. Hoping to hear back from the housing officer but I'm guessing this might just turn into a tit for tat complaint thing which I cannae be arsed with. God knows what will happen if I do have a party at some point. by Rainbow0ctopus (Mon 24th Jun 2019 5:38pm)
  • The whole 20mins I hoovered there was banging, soon as I stopped it did..... He's a fucking fud. by Rainbow0ctopus (Mon 24th Jun 2019 5:54pm)

  • Prefer not to talk too much in the way of details publicly as I don't wanna aggrivate the situation, I'm assuming you might live in the same building or the wan pal I've told πŸ€” by Rainbow0ctopus (Mon 24th Jun 2019 11:58pm)
  • Aye but even if its noisy what am I supposed to do just never hoover or make noise. Like I say I hear the kids upstairs. Thats all part and parcel of living in a flat. It's not like I'm playing techo at 4am or having people over all the time. by Rainbow0ctopus (Tue 25th Jun 2019 12:41pm)
  • So you gonna enlighten me why you seem to be aware of the rough description I've been given by another neighbour, or am I to assume that you recognise the post due to you being the person involved? by Rainbow0ctopus (Wed 26th Jun 2019 12:47am)
  • That's the thing, never met the guy, but I've got the same rough description. (I never answer my door unless Im expecting someone so never actually got a proper look) by Rainbow0ctopus (Wed 26th Jun 2019 8:23am)
  • Don't actually see the guy. I've briefly seen him through the peep hole. He's made the complaints officially and only once came to my door, but I blank my door in the evenings it's always a chugger, wasn't until he started shouting I went to see what the deal was. by Rainbow0ctopus (Thu 27th Jun 2019 8:42am)

  • I'm a tattoo artist. I normally don't really feel comfortable telling strangers for a number of reasons. Most people think it's a rock and roll lifestyle but it's really not, it's one of the very few jobs with constant homework and anxiety. by Rainbow0ctopus (Sun 8th Mar 2020 1:13am)
  • I done that for 12 years getting robbed twice was my motivation to get to fuck (well no the robbery but the way the company handled it) by Rainbow0ctopus (Sun 8th Mar 2020 1:17am)
  • Anyone had this yet, I'm now convinced my boyfriend has it he's had a dry cough for days and now it's worse. Now obviously completely avoiding all other people. Just worried how serious this is. I can only go on Internet stuff not anyone who's actually had it. Hoping cos we're mid 30s it's gonna blow over as a flu at worst. He's mostly fine but dunno at what point to do anything if it escalated. Funny thing is he told his work place but was told to go in last few days. Him, not wanting to seem like he was a hypochondriac went in,thinking it was a cough down to social smoking from weekend. Doing all the usual, cold and flu tablets and loadsa water. by Rainbow0ctopus (Sat 21st Mar 2020 2:36am)

  • Well me and my partner dont drive and live 30min walk min from a large supermarket, we're trying to only leaving the house once a week or fortnight so logistically it's better if we do a large shop together once a fortnight and humph it 30mins, than constantly leaving the house separately.... So yeah it's called for at times. Trust me I'm not keen on leaving if I don't wanna but this is the easiest way to not have to go out as often. by Rainbow0ctopus (Sat 18th Apr 2020 1:03pm)

  • To be honest I do digital art and this would be easy for you do knock up yourself on Photoshop (gimp a free version of PS) or if you have an ipad Autodesk Sketchbook Pro is free in the app store. Edit : save you paying for it to be done. by Rainbow0ctopus (Fri 24th Apr 2020 12:51am)
  • Lemme know how you get on, I tried a few years back when they shut my local rbs and I needed a pay in book. Hoping it's changed now, and you can just use your card. I took my full savings out pre lockdown for holiday money and now I only have cash which is a fucking nightmare at them moment. by Rainbow0ctopus (Wed 13th May 2020 1:15am)
  • Had the exact same situation a few months back, I was just back from holiday and had my pet cam set up and caught him nearly kicking my door in so I called the police because I had evidence of him and his threatening behaviour. This was in my hallway and pointed at the door. I have same issue I was quiet and he accused me of jumping up and down whilst I was in my bed drawing on my ipad. I keep the camera running constant now, more so if he does accuse me of noise I have audio and video evidence. I'm still paranoid of my guy he's a fucking idiot that called the police on an 86 year old previous tenant for "having a loud party at 1am" some of these tadgers shouldn't live in a flat. That's about the best advice I can give buy a cheap pet cam off amazon as long as its only filming on your property your OK. Keep us updated cos I don't think it's last I've heard from my guy so more tips the better. Edit my guy also bangs up when I hoover, fucking balloon he is. by Rainbow0ctopus (Tue 19th May 2020 11:17pm)

  • I honestly think you're being a bit of a dick, remember the mask is there to protect the person that is gonna be close to you. So the cashier is at risk not you I'm sure for the whole 3 secs it would have taken you could hold your breath and you can't be that concerned if it lives on surfaces for 24 hours then it potentially could be on every surface in that shop you choose to go in. I've worked in a licensed premised and almost lost my job for not IDing a 6foot bearded 19 year old because we had a think 25 policy. by Rainbow0ctopus (Wed 29th Jul 2020 12:38am)
  • I prefer Donor Haus but during lockdown GDK was on for delivery..... I still can't find a proper 100% German kebab.... I never had a kebab until I went to Berlin, it blew my mind. I can't eat the ones you get in a regular takeaway here. I need a pile of veg and feta by Rainbow0ctopus (Thu 30th Jul 2020 12:25am)
  • Adult only arcade/pub/entertainment centre. I reckon there's a massive demand for places that have games/alcohol that doesn't let kids in. I know a lot of 30s/20s that would love a place like this and have (had pre covid) disposable income. It would obviously have a large outlay. Its my Euromillions dream, get a big warehouse space in Glasgow. Put in mini golf, bowling loadsa arcade stuff, booths and a self service/table top touch bar and basically use tokens system. Im bored outta my tits going to normal pubs these days often need conedy/karaoke booth or pub quiz to enjoy getting pissed so this is my dream. by Rainbow0ctopus (Wed 5th Aug 2020 1:07am)
  • I watched the BBC doc about Julie Reilly, as a massive true Crime fan I'm normally quite desensitised, but this was horrible to watch. She was last seen across the road from my last job and I know a cop that was on the case. I think cos its literally 1m from my house and how brutal this guy was chopping her up and scattering her about PRW was really close to home. by Rainbow0ctopus (Wed 5th Aug 2020 1:11am)

Half the time I don't know where the hell they're getting the numbers (or kidding themselves) I wouldn't trust most of the values that I didn't double check myself. • So a good rule of thumb is to make sure you book a tattoo in a studio that's owned/run by an artist. If you do a bit of research it's easy to find out. Obviously research your artist too. But you'll find artist run studios aren't in the business to rip the cunt out of artists or clients. by Rainbow0ctopus (Mon 14th Sep 2020 10:13pm)

  • Thanks for such an in depth reply it was CBT I tried along with general therapy, I went in dead excited about making a positive move in my life. Then as the weeks went on like with my job I started to feel nothing but dread going to each session. And I started to feel much worse cos I realised my problems where kinda ridiculous and very first world so it made me feel guilty going and complaining how I have my perfect job but sometimes I find it tough. So I just felt more a fraud, this was a year of trying and I just got overwhelmed. I would prefer not to be medicated but would potentially look into it. by Rainbow0ctopus (Mon 26th Oct 2020 3:25pm)

  • From what I've gathered other the last year theyre running it primarily as a money making business, yeah they have decent artists but their customer service is appalling. I personally had seen a handful of people share posts about them getting constantly moved about appointment/and artist then when the client doesn't agree they're refused a refund (it's different if the vendor fucks you about for deposits) by Rainbow0ctopus (Wed 30th Dec 2020 11:28am)
  • One of the issues I had seen was a client had booked in 8month in advance for a specific guest artist. The day before the client recieved a call to say they had a family emergency (which the client was cool about) but then the very same evening they were advertising space woth that artist for a Disney flash day. I know there was a few more but that's the one I remember, its pretty shitty situation. I kinda think their success to begin with has reach a level its gonna be a factor when dealing with customers, it's the artists I feel for to be honest. Obviously I take these social media slagging posts with a pinch of salt but unfortunately if you throw enough shit at a wall eventually some will stick regardless. by Rainbow0ctopus (Wed 30th Dec 2020 7:23pm)
  • Aye its only been recently (pre covid) it's a shame their marketing and previous rep was highly thought of but like I say it seems like they've went down the "chain store" route by Rainbow0ctopus (Wed 30th Dec 2020 9:18pm)

  • Please for the love of christ don't get them a kit online they'll just brutilise their own or others skin and never be taken seriously in the industry. I say Cass art vouchers are the way to go, you don't just 'get a licence' the best way for them would be a formal apprenticeship which will be difficult to come across these days, so it's best of they hone their art skills it will massively pay off in the future. Getting them machines will almost put the nail in the coffin of getting a decent apprenticeship. by Rainbow0ctopus (Wed 6th Jan 2021 11:52pm)
  • As a female tattooist I'm lucky I've never encountered anything of the sort. I know Glasgow had a few wrong'uns but the good thing is soon as its been discovered it's never tolerated. It's unfortunate but its not a lone industry issue, there's the same on comedy circuits, entertainment booking the list goes on. I generally think the UK it's pretty safe going ahead with these issues. I have a strong female artist group of friends and it's a massive support. by Rainbow0ctopus (Thu 7th Jan 2021 11:13am)

  • There's probably loads of Partick Facebook groups you could ask (at the risk of sounding a bit of a dick, Facebook its more your old dear typa people these days however they post a lot of cool historical shit and old pics on these types of groups) There's probably more but here's one you can always ask and also someone mentioned Glasgow Lost https://www.facebook.com/groups/1680559918883281/?ref=share by Rainbow0ctopus (Sun 10th Jan 2021 8:25pm)

  • Or immune to covid... One or the other. by Rainbow0ctopus (Thu 21st Jan 2021 7:19am)
  • Yeah there was a scripble barely readable. They don't take pics apparently. It's a shit show cos I did make the error in the original postage which I feel like it's my fault but even at that it was delivered to a neighbour. Parcel Force have said they might be able to send a driver back to confirm the door but what use is that if she just flat out denies it. by Rainbow0ctopus (Wed 3rd Feb 2021 10:06am)
  • The digital print company just called me. They've been fantastic offered me a refund when they don't need to but they told me they don't ask for signatures with covid.... Even hermes and yodel who are terrible at least take pics. I'm just pissed I can't sell my product as a limited edition. More maybe an ego issue for me. by Rainbow0ctopus (Wed 3rd Feb 2021 10:21am)
  • They said they were gonna. As far as I'm aware is this shit not a civil matter? Anyway I don't give a fuck about bad blood she lives a considerable amount of floor below me I won't run into her. I'm starting to doubt it been delivered but normally they don't put a name in to the delivery box they just say they couldn't get into the building or some shit. The company I ordered called me after I posted here they were amazing so offered me a refund. But I'm more pissed at the fact I dunno where my work is. by Rainbow0ctopus (Wed 3rd Feb 2021 10:32am)
  • I got a refund the company just called me they were amazing I'm just pissed that this isn't a run of the mill delivery it was my work I spent weeks drawings and then printing for a limited edition set. Normally I would just be like "well this shit happens" but it's just shitty. Either they can't use them or they'll profit from me working. by Rainbow0ctopus (Wed 3rd Feb 2021 10:59am)
  • I have an Etsy but I was waiting to I recieved my work to make sure I was happy with the quality before I sold any work. I'll have a new order of greeting cards on Thursdays and art prints on the 9th so I'll post then, thanks 😊😊 by Rainbow0ctopus (Wed 3rd Feb 2021 11:01am)
  • Yeah I'm waiting to hear back again from parcel force to 100% confirm and I'm gonna post mostly to see if anyone is trying to sell them off. Just a pain on the dick they're one of the few couriers that don't take pics of the door. by Rainbow0ctopus (Wed 3rd Feb 2021 11:00am)
  • They didn't deliver to the address on the postage, it was another neighbour. I would take responsibility if it went to the number I accidentally fucked up on. Just take it as my fault but parcel force are saying they can't provide me with proof of the neighbour they delivered to. by Rainbow0ctopus (Wed 3rd Feb 2021 11:04am)
  • Yeah I'm starting to worry its not. I've chapped her door and put a note on the landing to ask if anyone has it to leave it at my door. Generally though they don't make up aname, with other couriers they've given me bullshit excuses like they couldn't access the building or it had been delivered to the address but in a safe place. It's just a waiting game now, just over the moon with the customer service I recieved from the print company when none of this is their fault. by Rainbow0ctopus (Wed 3rd Feb 2021 11:49am)
  • The thing is I'm normally trusting but it was weird as fuck that when I spoke to her and said it was delivered to (insert flat number) she said it wasn't her flat, even though all flats have the same numbers on each floor and it's on her door in big brass numbers. by Rainbow0ctopus (Wed 3rd Feb 2021 11:54am)
  • You would think, parcel force don't and they don't ask for a signature in the "covid times" even arseholes like Hermes who are terrible at least show you proof of where they dumped it. by Rainbow0ctopus (Wed 3rd Feb 2021 11:50am)
  • I posted a wee note to say even if they were opened that's cool just leave them at the door. I dunno now what to think. Parcel force just called, rough wummin asking if I got my parcel. I was like NAW THAT'S WHY ME AND THE PRINTING COMPANY HAVE RAISED A GRIEVANCE, she's said in a defeated voice I'll need to send the driver back then. by Rainbow0ctopus (Wed 3rd Feb 2021 12:39pm)
  • It was preorders for my regular followers on Instagram so not so much for randoms cos I hadn't used this printer before wanted to ensure the quality was OK before I put them up for general sale. The company really have been amazing. I'm hesitant to not be anonymous on here. Although I'm sure I know a few people know my user name. This is the last tinternet platform you don't need to disclose an identity. I will post my Instagram and etsy soon as I have physical products. by Rainbow0ctopus (Wed 3rd Feb 2021 12:44pm)
  • This is defo a keeper, my pals neighbours are bams so I've sent her this too, cheers. πŸ˜‚ by Rainbow0ctopus (Wed 3rd Feb 2021 12:47pm)
  • I'm trying to stay positive it's just a mistake, like I've said if it was just a random piece of shit I ordered from amazon I would be taking it as a hit and that shit happens. I'm just super raging cos it's a personalised item and I was really excited about making my 1st products to sell especially under current circumstances. by Rainbow0ctopus (Wed 3rd Feb 2021 12:46pm)
  • I spoke to the company they're willing to refund me, they couldn't have been more helpful. I'm just pissed cos this is my work, it's not a random object from amazon I can replace. I might sound like a dickhead I'm just annoyed some one has my artwork after working for weeks to make it and waiting for ages to get it. It's a pain on the arse financially but I'm just pissed it's either no use to the person or they'll profit from my work when I have barely made a penny this year. by Rainbow0ctopus (Wed 3rd Feb 2021 12:53pm)
  • Nope I asked them if they did. It's not their policy, I politely suggested if they can't get a signature then it might be a way forward. Even Iceland take a pic of your messages. by Rainbow0ctopus (Wed 3rd Feb 2021 12:50pm)
  • I have been offered a refund. I'm more annoyed someone else has my work and I spent weeks making it and another 10days waiting on it to post for sale to my clients. I was happy to take the financial hit cos of the original mistake being mine. I'm just bummed out about the fact its not just a package it was something I worked really hard and was excited about. The company I ordered from has gone above and beyond if I'm honest. by Rainbow0ctopus (Wed 3rd Feb 2021 1:15pm)
  • No your right Im just annoyed at myself to be honest. But I wish parcel force would allow you to sign up on the app/leave a delivery note. They even had an option to change the address and pay a few quid, which I was willing to do but they wouldn't allow me to do so until a delivery attempt was made. If the address I mistakingly put on had taken it and not returned it I wouldn't be pissed. But the courier could have still left it with the neighbour even if the original address was correct too. As I've said on other replies if it was a random amazon package I would just accept it, but yeah I'm a fud too. by Rainbow0ctopus (Wed 3rd Feb 2021 1:23pm)
  • I'll maybe post a picture post on reddit after this. I'm not good at self promotion, it feels weird. by Rainbow0ctopus (Wed 3rd Feb 2021 1:29pm)
  • I've made a wee gallery on Imgur. I can post my Etsy once they come. I've made two into greeting cards and the 3 into A4 prints. I've got 4 others in the pipeline with other Glasgow landmarks. I'm shite at self promotion I feel weird telling people to look at my stuff hence the anonymous gallery pic. https://imgur.com/gallery/jSqCO1F by Rainbow0ctopus (Wed 3rd Feb 2021 1:38pm)

  • No I know even the other companies allow you to redeliver and/or leave a note. I was more than happy to pay the fee. Their app wouldn't even work. I've never had anything from parcel force but now I know to try avoid them (even though I have them delivering my next batch tomorrow) I'll get a chair oot and sit at the bottom of my flat. by Rainbow0ctopus (Wed 3rd Feb 2021 1:57pm)
  • The company has been more than helpful they're offering me a refund once parcel force confirm they can't retrieve the parcel. I'm more annoyed about it being my work than it being just another parcel. I might miss my deadline to get them sent for St Valentines day. And that someone else can sell my work as theirs potentially. by Rainbow0ctopus (Wed 3rd Feb 2021 3:04pm)
  • I've never had an issue with DPD in my opinion they seem to be the only courier that is clear and easy to use as well as amazon prime. I try to avoid hermes but not had any terrible experiences just them not delivering for days on end which is kinda what I expect anyway. by Rainbow0ctopus (Wed 3rd Feb 2021 4:07pm)
  • Hahaha trust me I'm not really keen on posting my Etsy here, I would like to keep my anonymous status on this platform cos I'm always on social media trying to punt my work. I like being here and no one knowing me. Lol I should maybe offer a set of free prints to whomever retrieves my greeting card order from the neighbour make it a wee game. by Rainbow0ctopus (Wed 3rd Feb 2021 5:57pm)
  • As weird as it sound I kinda hope it's that way, cos it would annoy me more if a person just took it knowing its not any use to them. I can deal with incompetence over arseholes. I'll get a refund but as I've said I'm just pissed off at the thought of someone keeping them after the work I put into it. Just gonna have to accept the issue not when I posted earlier I was fucking fuming, I've calmed down and realised I can't control the situation now. by Rainbow0ctopus (Wed 3rd Feb 2021 7:45pm)
  • Anyone else immediately think of Ron Swanson? by Rainbow0ctopus (Thu 4th Feb 2021 3:18pm)
  • I had same thing years ago. I kept sending them back saying wrong address, they still came. I did open 1 by accident (I know I shouldn't have I just was in autopilot) but I called an NHS number from the website, they told me to open it and give them the NHS number (they said it was cool, dunno if it was but I did already anyway, I did feel weird about it) gave them the details and I never got another for the guy. I never fully read the letter or anything but I felt awful cos he was clearly waiting on getting tests done/resulta and this was the 4th letter I received so I was hoping he was still in contact with a gp and didn't miss anything serious. by Rainbow0ctopus (Tue 16th Feb 2021 3:34am)
  • I was shocked they told me to open it, I mean I don't even remember the guys name now. But like I say it solved the issue. I can't remember the number I called but try the NHS website. by Rainbow0ctopus (Tue 16th Feb 2021 4:40pm)

  • I've watched The Office on constant loop since 2020.i think that's my main achievement. This one has been brutal whether the whole novelty of extended time off has worn off or the sheer lack of sunlight. If its extended longer tomorrow I'm 100% gonna paint my house. Try hire a pressure washer and make my balcony habitable in the summer. by Rainbow0ctopus (Mon 22nd Feb 2021 6:04am)
  • My mums was also cancelled. She was 3 weeks later and she's very high risk. I pestered and pestered them there's also a link on the website to submit you missed your app. They guys answering are just call centre staff so they just input your details to the system they have no power but on Thursday last week I was determined to get a new date (only cos she was telling me she knew some arsehole who never turned up on purpose and got given a new date within days) I had to explain the 3 serious conditions and her age. Luckily I seemed to have got somewhere (was shite seeing all the younger people (well deservedly) getting theirs before her when NHS cancelled her) but I was told they did have a backlog of people who had to rearrange cis they never recieved their letters before the appointment. by Rainbow0ctopus (Tue 2nd Mar 2021 4:29am)
  • I got one last month. Had to laugh at their environmental advert when I got my shoe rack and 2 throws it came with a rainforest worth of packaging. Just wish these big compainie gave you the option of less fragile shit to just have a delivery label stuck on the original packaging save me clogging the bastard bins up with rolls of broon paper. Edit: OH aye no probs booking a slot I don't think we even got a choice it was a case it would arrive within 10days. by Rainbow0ctopus (Tue 2nd Mar 2021 4:23am)
  • Aye during the sex if it's that loud call the cops and say your worried about the people in the flat. I know it might not be 100% ethical "wasting" police time but if it's that bad it could potentially been heard as domestic violence 🀷‍♀️ by Rainbow0ctopus (Sat 6th Mar 2021 8:56pm)
  • Imart in partick (Crow Rd) has got the biggest I've seen including bigger places like Seewoo. They have a massive selection from Japan, China, Korea, Thailand and Taiwan. I'm trying to make my way through the selection I'm about half way through. So far my fav is the instant "pot noodle" one that's got blackbean sauce, I think it's Jjajang. by Rainbow0ctopus (Mon 22nd Mar 2021 5:41pm)

  • Anything to be honest, I'm not the fittest after 4months of not leaving the house so I wouldn't wanna be scaling anything to taxing. Just wanna get out the house to somewhere nice before I go back to work before the end of the month. I don't mind a decent walk, would prefer something scenic but I'm happy just to get somewhere I've never been or somewhere that has a significant appeal. by Rainbow0ctopus (Mon 19th Apr 2021 9:40am)
  • I'm no gonna lie this park is a life saver on days like this, plus you don't have the drunk bams. We sit at the big open green at the courts and it's magic. It's a scattering of 20 somethings having a sneaky (but quiet) drink and young families. Nae shite music on speakers or everyone around you being general dick. Yip I realised I've actually turnt into Jack and Victor. by Rainbow0ctopus (Fri 23rd Apr 2021 8:48pm)

  • I might be wrong here but I doubt you'll find anyone that specialises in "Arab text" in Glasgow, and decent artist can do script easily. I don't know off the top of my head any middle Eastern tattooist. I know there's a few that might have an south Asian/Scottish background which obviously doesn't help. But if youre wanting translation I would try getting an Arabic teacher to help. by Rainbow0ctopus (Thu 27th May 2021 7:09pm)
  • To be fair there wouldnt be enough demand in Glasgow for that type of thing to have anyone that would specialise in it. Div in Archangel tattoo does nice fineline tight script tattoos. by Rainbow0ctopus (Fri 28th May 2021 5:53pm)

  • I've put down a duvet, bought one of those thick gym mats and even used the padding from my Hello Fresh delivery's, I obviously can't grasp exactly how back it is downstairs, but I can hear my TV over the noise..... I bought a relatively cheap combo a few years back I can afford something a bit more expensive and just a bike (think that's why it's noisy cos it's a cross fit/bike) by Rainbow0ctopus (Thu 19th Aug 2021 12:04am)
  • No defo seems a shout and might get a decent bike on a cycle to work scheme too. I'm happy to invest if I know I'll use it rather than the expensive duvet drier I have in my livingroom now. by Rainbow0ctopus (Thu 19th Aug 2021 12:06am)

  • Yeah I think so, seem only really the high end ones are available to rent in most places and look g to spend under 500 by Rainbow0ctopus (Thu 19th Aug 2021 8:53am)
  • That's why I don't cos I understand. Although like I say if this prick was even reasonable I would chap his door explain my knees are fucked I need the bike and when can I use it to accommodate when they're out or in a different room. I've used it 2 times in 3 years. I live in a multi story block I have kids up stairs so it's like a bowling alley but I live in a flat so that's the choice I've made 🀷‍♀️ by Rainbow0ctopus (Thu 19th Aug 2021 8:52am)
  • Also this fud bangs up most days I hoover, I understand being overly noisy as a neighbour but then there's just people who aren't cut out to live near anyone else. by Rainbow0ctopus (Thu 19th Aug 2021 8:57am)
  • I think the one I have the issue is maybe more the vibration downstairs cos I can hear my TV OK over it, do you know of its sturdy? by Rainbow0ctopus (Thu 19th Aug 2021 8:56am)
  • So a lot of studios now have card facilities, but there's a few reasons it's not a thing, so the studio will get a 5-15% charge of the amount you pay (which means the potential cost going up and gloves have already increased 5 fold in 18 months) also most places each artist is self employed so they deal with their own takings at the end of the day and give their split to the studio so taking a card payment means getting potentially taxed on income you haven't actually made and then also having the pain on the arse of giving the daily rent to the owner of the studio. And also a lot of tattooists don't like the thought of pwople putting it into a card to have debt for a tattoo. I know some of the business themed studios do credit and I personally don't agree with that at all. by Rainbow0ctopus (Fri 20th Aug 2021 4:34pm)
  • Rock and roll, Blancolo, Believer, Comedian tattoo, FMT (I think it may just be piercings though), Archangel, Inkedin, Phoenix, Godfather I can't vouch for the standard of work in most of these places. And I severely think your priority when picking a studio is the artwork and standard of work. You don't wanna be paying summit off you are getting lasered by Rainbow0ctopus (Fri 20th Aug 2021 6:37pm)
  • Why don't you try pay pal credit you get 4 months interest free if you wanna use credit.... Which I don't encourage for a tattoo but at least you'll have some time to pay it and build credit by Rainbow0ctopus (Fri 20th Aug 2021 10:03pm)
  • I would read up about R&R the artists are good but I've heard countless stories about deposit, offers and vouchers not being honoured at the management level. by Rainbow0ctopus (Fri 20th Aug 2021 10:01pm)
  • You'll struggle. It's isn't down to someone doing them correctly. White tattoos are generally not wanted to be done cos the ink is lighter than any skin tone so whatever your underlying skin tone (warm or cool) will eventually over power the ink in your dermis so if you expose yourself to sun and aging it also always changes white ink to yellow or grey. Most artists don't wanna charge you for summit too that isn't going to be around forever. It's not to say artists won't but its mostly the reasoning.... The only person I think that MAY consider it would be little elm tattooer in Lowkey cos she does do some more in the way of specialised areas like ear tattoos. But that isn't a certainty she'll do it. by Rainbow0ctopus (Thu 26th Aug 2021 4:51am)
  • 2004 I hung about briefly with Alex and Bob from Franz Ferdinand at a tsunami charity night. They were very down to earth and this was the height of their fame. Also went to school with Kevin Bridges. Although he was in my sisters year not mine but he's still pretty down to earth too by all accounts of people who I know that are still in his circle. I used to work in the bookies years ago and worked in Milngavie. Billy Dodds was the only footballer that wasn't an argogant cunt. Kyle Lafferty tops that list. He would practically push auld men oot the way to get to the counter to load money into the FOBT machines. by Rainbow0ctopus (Thu 9th Sep 2021 8:46am)

I could hear them in the walls and unfortunately the fly I was in wasn’t well insulated so there was holes under the sinks in the bathroom and kitchen. • I had/have a similar situ not heard a peep from the guy downstairs from me since he found out I had 2 pet cams in my house that is noise triggered. He triggered on about 2 years back when he near enough battered my door whilst I was tucked in bed on the phone dealing with emails. I answered he threatened me, luckily had it on camera called 101 they came out viewed the footage and had a word they came in my house and knew I wasnt a bellend I think they told him that but said he can contact someone about recording the noise. I've not heard from him (I still get feart when the TV is too loud or my cat jumps off the table) but he's not banged up or chapped the door soon as he got told I had private cctv ( I think the polis were decent and said cctv than pet cam) bottom line try that or a ring doorbell by Rainbow0ctopus (Wed 8th Dec 2021 1:08am)

  • Cheers I'm in Vietnam from 12th to the 19th I'll need to see if it affects the other places though....cheers for the heads up (I'm on an organised tour for the majority of it, just staying an extra few days either side and I turn 40 so want a bit of a night out) by Rainbow0ctopus (Tue 6th Sep 2022 12:03am)

  • Probably most of them. The problem will lie in yourself. Tattoo artists typically won't tattoo these areas if your young/not got a lot of visible tattoos or have a job that will hinder healing. Healing is a cunt on fingers and unless your well versed in tattoo healing they generally kb you....if you don't fall into one of the above categories I can't see you having a problem getting an artist to do it. by Rainbow0ctopus (Sun 9th Oct 2022 11:06pm)
  • Chances are you are too young or not tattooed enough. I've had 6 from various artists and I know it's too much of a pain to deal with healing complaints from inexperienced clients that's as much help as I can give but I'm guessing you look or are young. by Rainbow0ctopus (Sun 9th Oct 2022 11:23pm)

  • Unfortunately I found myself in a similar situation and kept hoping they would change and I'm now 40 and just out that relationship....sometimes love isn't enough and you need to put your own needs 1st even if its daunting becoming single. I won't lie I've really enjoyed my the time on my own and I all the mess is my own. Unfortunately she won't change of she doesn't want to which just means it's you on yer tod. by Rainbow0ctopus (Thu 23rd Mar 2023 12:40am)
