  • It's hard to explain it all. Is it a case of them being out of touch and if so, does that apply to the actors too or do they actors question any of the material? With it being in HD it does look very different but most phones these days film in HD so either filming in HD is really what it looks like in person and you're just seeing it in really high quality or they are using some kind of filter or doing some kind of additional editing to make it look a certain way. I could see that being the case because I know with the big soaps one of the big problems they had when they started filming in HD was it exposed everything, from the sets to the make up. It could be if they just filmed in HD as is that the make up of the characters would be exposed. The big thing for me has always been the patter and the banter. I think the very early seasons done this well. You would have multiple people talking at the same time, over each other and at each other, there was an urgency. I think in those early seasons this story about going viral would have been only one storyline in an episode, not the entire focus of one. Again I just don't know why things are the way they are. I would love to ask them about it but of course they're never going to say anything that criticises the show and I don't expect the actors to say anything like that either. I'm just genuinely curious from all involved, from Greg and Ford to the cast to the director, to the producers whether they have either deliberately changed, or whether they were forced to change or whether there is no change at all and they honestly don't see any changes and as far as they're concerned it's the same as it ever was. It's really interesting and I don't want to make a point of this but I have seen it mentioned. Can money affect this? Can being wealthy really change your thought process, in this case their patter and writing? Can living in the West End area of Glasgow really change how you are as a person, can that high quality of life really change what these guys did for so many years? I'm sure they had money during those earlier seasons. I don't know. I like Glasgow a lot. I have no issue with any of it, there is good reasons to go everywhere in it but I have to say, any time I do go to the West End part of it......there is a sense of it being a dream. It's like it motivates you. You always imagine what it must be like being able to live there in a nice flat or house and a nice quality of life and eating out in nice places and obviously working a well paid job. There is a sense of it being fairly exclusive and a nice place to be. It can feel very strange to someone not brought up in that part of Glasgow. I love the shopping in that area and there are some nice places to visit and some nice heritage there but in terms of this show. Can success really change someone? Can your surroundings change you and in the case of the show, which had such good writing.......can you really lose your patter? by scotswizard (Sun 24th Feb 2019 10:42pm)

  • Thank you I will do that. One of the things they said to me last month was you have received over £700 in the last 4 weeks and I said no, I can show you that I didn't through payslips, through the Universal Credit page but then I thought they must have added the housing element on top of my wages and I tried to explain that money gets paid to the landlord, I don't see that. Also I have a family member who owns their own home, 2 bedroom up and downstairs about a mile from me and they pay £90 per month with a single person discount. They work over 40 hours a week. I'm doing 12 hours a week and I'm now at £150 council tax and my single person discount keeps changing. One of the things they did tell me was my letter gets sent out around the 9th because that is when my Universal Credit payment gets paid.....even though I get £0 every month and if I don't pay the council tax before the 9th when that letter is generated then it means it will go up the next month so I have a feeling they will use that as an excuse, even though the letter shows you all the different dates you can pay the council tax. Another thing said to me a few months ago was the year ends for them in February and that is why my council tax total is £400 and when it resets next year it should be different. Well obviously it kept going up so I'm set to pay over £400 and that's with them extending it 1 month so that I can pay in March too. I've done the Glasgow City Council council tax calculator and if I have done it correctly it says my council tax should be £14.96 per week and water and waste is £4.95 per week and I did that last month too and they told me on the phone I had done it wrong. I would love to know and have been thinking about certain places online just to ask people.....how many of you work 16 hours per week and what is your council tax. I'll even keep it to certain bands, I'm band B. I don't know if there is something to the year ending in February and I've only been paying since July and not a full year but every month it seems to get worse and worse and yet I'm not earning anymore, I'm earning less. by scotswizard (Sat 14th Dec 2019 4:54pm)
  • But that's what I mean, how can that be fair charging someone more and more every month when they're not earning more and more money. They said every one on Universal Credit gets a new letter every month so I thought why do direct debit if every month it changes. I've spoken to my Welfare Rights person and they said don't pay it all but then they say if it's not paid the sheriff officers will come out. Every month it just seems to increase and I'm paying more than someone that owns their home outright? They're paying £90 a month with a single person discount, I get a single person discount too and it's £150. The people I work with are paying £50 per month. I'm honestly expecting February to now be maybe £170 or £180. It's at that stage it just can't be done now. by scotswizard (Sat 14th Dec 2019 5:05pm)
  • But why on the 1st if the letter shows you several dates? When it was £110 this month they said that was because I hadn't paid the £90 bill before the 9th last month. What if people can't get the money till the end of the month? So is my council tax going up and up just because I don't pay on the 1st and it's later in the month? And what else annoys me is when it resets in March, they can't tell me what it will be every month so will I be £90 per month or £50 like the people I work with? And then obviously I'm trying to work full time anyway so it might not even matter much, every job I go for wants full availability including weekends, I can't do 2 or 3 jobs and work everybody at the weekend, I'm trying night shift but no one ever gets back to me so I'm wanting full time anyway but it's just stressful at this time of year and the calculator says £80 a month for council tax and water and waste. If I'm still in this position come March and I'm still doing 12 or 16 hours a week, am I still gonna be paying this kind of money or is it going to drop down substantially? Every so often I do extra shifts if asked so some weeks I have done 20 hours, but not for a while now and everything stayed the same so now I'm thinking.....could I get away with working 20 hours a week and still have the rent covered by them because they do it monthly so an extra shift would have looked like 17 hours a week to them. If I could do that then obviously that would be a massive help to paying this council tax every month. I was told to spread the amount over 12 months rather than 10 and they said the most they could do was March so it's 11 months but starting then they would be able to split it all across 12 months but what you're saying to me now makes me think is this going to just keep carrying on and dragging on into April? Even though I'm only getting that extra month will they give me a final bill that will 100% clear the year so that I start fresh with everyone else? Or is that 4 week arrears period along with me not able to pay on the 1st of the month just going to keep catching up with me every month? by scotswizard (Sat 14th Dec 2019 5:24pm)
  • I did that and they did a benefits checker and said everything was correct but due to there being a 30 minute wait on the phone they didn't have the time to speak to wait to speak to someone so I had to do it on my own and what was said to me I said here. I've had several phone calls about it. Every month with Universal Credit they give me an amount, mine is always £0. I get nothing. I get some of the rent paid and it shows what amount, it then says what I'm paying back for the loan and then it shows wages as reported by employer. The council said every month they get a statement from the government showing the same thing and the council tax is worked off that and I said at the time how can you get the same statement for 4 months showing the same numbers yet my council tax keeps going up? Then I got caught out this month because I get paid fortnightly and the period for Universal Credit managed to include 3 sets of wages. I get paid fortnightly on a Friday and so they think I was paid over £800 in a month when the truth is I got a lot lower than that, just my usual wage but Universal Credit wont do anything about it and the council can't do anything about it. Then my issue was I thought council tax depended on your band not your income so it came across to me like the more money you earn the higher the council tax is and they had the same statement as me, obviously I'm working and on Universal Credit so clearly I'm not full time. I don't even know what full council tax would be. So if you can't pay on the 1st of the month you get charged extra the following month.....even though the letter shows all the dates which you can pay. by scotswizard (Sat 14th Dec 2019 5:41pm)
  • It says it can be paid montly or 4 weekly on the 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 28th of the month. I started paying from September so August might have been due. It's went from over £30 to £60 to £90 to £110 for this month and now £150 for January. I was told that at 16 hours I am only entitled to the housing element of Universal Credit so I get no additional money other than my wages but was told that if I got money from Universal Credit that would bring it down. I have now went to 12 hours a week and that means over £135 a month less and there's still no change, I still receive no extra money and the amount has now increased to £150. I was told that everyone on Universal Credit gets a new council tax letter every month as every month your earnings could change so it will never be the same. Well my earnings never changed for months but sure enough.....they were right.....every month the council tax keeps going up and up. I was also told on the phone just last month that the reason It went from £90 in November to £110 in December is because Universal Credit said I had an increase in earnings, that I received over £800. I tried to explain that their monthly calculations took 3 payments into consideration rather than 2 and that £300 of that is rent, I don't see that money and they said take it up with them which they wont do anything about since their own website shows this will happen if you are on fortnightly pay. It's also due to happen again in February and also because of that only £23 of rent was paid so last month not only did the council tax go up but they've put me in nearly £300 rent arrears which I can only try and pay off. That's when I said to the person on the phone, I work 12 hours a week minimum wage. I'm now in nearly £300 rent arrears and I have to pay £110 council tax.....there's not enough money to go around so something has to be missed and that's when they said I'd advise paying your council tax before your rent because you only get one warning letter and if it's not paid the sheriff officers will come out. I'll need to do something. The bottom line is it does keep going up and up and I don't know how much further it can go up. The letter says I can pay on the 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd and 28th but I am being punished and charged extra by not paying on the first? Luckily all the pay slips are there and Universal Credit statements are there so there's not enough for both. Welfare rights say don't pay all of it, just pay some. I was told on the phone the reason is an increase in income so that's why I said why does someone who owns their own home pay less than me? What other way can I read into that? It came across to me like.....the more money you get, the more you pay, even though the truth is I'm getting very little. Another thing I heard was because I took over this property in July but my first payment was September was that August was in arrears and I started mid year so they thought that all this extra money was basically me paying for March, April, May and June and that the year is up in February so they're trying to get 12 months money out of me in the space of 6 months. All of that is stuff I have been told, I'm not just thinking of it and trying to think of my own reasons. And if there was any charges or arrears then surely that would have been included in the first payment. I've never missed a payment. So surely if August was in arrears that would have been covered with my September payment? And as for being charged extra for not paying on the 1st....why does the letter list all those other dates? And why doesn't it say on the letter you will be charged more for not paying on the 1st? If there are charges there then tell me or the way I think of it is this. If I pay the £110 this month....and then pay £150 on the 1st of January......does that mean February will be an awful lot lower? Because if February is £110 or £150 then why bother? If it's not gonna make any difference then why use every penny just to get it paid on the 1st? If I pay the £110 just now and then obviously forget about Christmas there's nothing for that then a week later another £150, that's £260 in the space of 14 days.......will it make any difference? Am I going to drop down to £80 or £60 for February and March? That's why I was thinking of going on certain sites and asking people. I'm not the only person in Scotland working 16 hours. Everyone knows someone working 16 hours but I'm down to 12 now and I'm in Band B council tax, I'm not in a big expensive property. I honestly am curious about other people in a Band B property...working 16 hours or less....what they pay every month. It could just be because I'm a single guy. If you're disabled or have kids obviously you'll get a ton of discounts and I know not everyone I work with lives alone so there could be elements of that in play. In a way I can see why a lot of people live the way they do now. My friend obviously owns their property and it's worth a lot more than where I rent and I can't understand why I am paying so much more council tax than them and I earn a fraction of what they do. I might need to book an appointment to speak to someone at the council tax office in person rather than on the phone and I can discuss all that and I can mention my friend owning their property and I've kept all the letters and I'll get all the payslips and we can work things out hopefully and they can explain it to me and why, even though it gets paid in full every month it keeps jumping up and up. by scotswizard (Sat 14th Dec 2019 7:43pm)
  • I will go again and hopefully they can help. by scotswizard (Sun 15th Dec 2019 4:40pm)
  • I never thought about the buying part of it before but my excuse for that is I don't have kids so in my mind if you don't have kids....you're only here for so long anyway, it's not worth it. Why buy a property unless you have a family or want to start one? There's no one to leave it to. But that's just my reasoning. One of the things I remember when I was younger was a sense of community, in the closes there was a sense of community with the families and everyone knew each other. That doesn't happen these days and I do think, I can't prove it though that any families living in these buildings don't leave. They're not mixing with each other, everyone leaves for work and school and when they're home they're home, everyone locks the doors and no one leaves. I'm surprised I never said that earlier, the empty streets, long empty streets, very few people in sight, I don't know if that's a good thing or not. I can't really complain because where I am just now everyone keeps to themselves too, the neighbours don't really speak to each other and that's ok because the street I'm on is all adults, there's no young families but pretty near me that's not the case at all, that's when you kind of see these new builds being put to use, people do sit in the garden, the kids do play outside, people have fancy things or what would have been considered fancy things 30 years ago like BBQs and garden tables and there is a way of life that is different. One thing I always wanted was a shed, I haven't got one yet but could get one, it's things like that which I think of where it gives me more options. I wish everyone had that, that should be a standard in council housing and any housing association housing. I will say the rooms are smaller, the ceilings are not as high but you can decorate them nice. My kitchen now is bigger than any I've had. They're easy to decorate and keep clean. They're cheap to heat and keep the lights on and it is just a personal opinion of mine and how my mind works but the older I'm getting the more I'm realising what's important to me in life. I'm single right now but it wouldn't matter, I can't take any of this with me when I go. They don't let you buy the houses anymore anyway. by scotswizard (Wed 4th Mar 2020 4:29pm)
  • I sincerely hope many people don't pay their council tax tomorrow. Glasgow City Council has done very little to help people or this city and I hope it happens in every other city in the UK. by scotswizard (Tue 31st Mar 2020 4:12pm)

  • I'll have to look. When I produce music I find it easy to come up with melodies and it can take me time to piece it all together but it would be nice to actually learn to play songs or even chords but I feel like with the midi keyboard I have, you just imagine being able to press the keys and sounds come out and you have an idea what they will sound like depending on where your hands are but you need to forcefully press the keys. I don't know if my fingers are able to move the way they probably should. by scotswizard (Thu 2nd Apr 2020 12:18am)

  • What's the best way to cut in around the ceiling and paint without getting it on skirting boards? by scotswizard (Thu 16th Apr 2020 7:28pm)
  • I use the green tape but when I've taped the ceiling before it's hard for me to see the actual edge so I don't know if it's taped properly. I only ended up with one spot on the ceiling but it wasn't a straight line across the top. I have never used an angle brush so I might try that. I also need to do skirting boards but I'm not good at them either lol. I could ask someone to do it but I don't know whether to try it myself again as I had to have someone come in and redo the cutting in at the top. by scotswizard (Thu 16th Apr 2020 7:42pm)
  • Thanks I will check that out. The rooms aren't that big which makes me want to try it on my own but I do want it to look good. by scotswizard (Fri 17th Apr 2020 1:15pm)
  • I have that and have been using it for the skirting boards and not getting the paint on the walls but when it comes to the ceiling I can never get it in a completely straight line by scotswizard (Fri 17th Apr 2020 1:15pm)
  • There's been a lot of issues and one of them led to them having to turn his gas off in the kitchen. He's not allowed to have gas on in there but apparently that's different for the boiler? I don't know how turning the gas off in the kitchen affects heating, the gas engineer just said he will never be allowed gas on again. I've tried looking at other houses and they have the same thing where the flue comes out the wall and then it's bent right around so the end is facing the wall. I'm worried about dampness too because it's brick on the outside and wood on the inside and it's jet black. Right now I can hear it pouring out the back wall. If it's not this it's banging about all night and him screaming or he's falling about outside or like last week trying to get into my house and trying the back and front door. I don't want to have to put a complaint in but how far does it all need to go? I can't make him answer the phone but may need to get a relative to phone on his behalf. I wish the guy next door was there too because it's running right into his garden. This is 12 hours straight now of just constant water shooting out. It's not like a wee drip, it's like a running tap. by scotswizard (Mon 4th May 2020 9:54pm)
  • He's dangerous. I came home to a smell of gas and phoned the emergency number. He had left the gas turned on and was in his house and didn't even realise. The guy that came out had to open all his windows and said if he lit a cigarette half the street would have went up. He told me there and then he would make sure he is never allowed to have his gas on again and he shouldn't be living alone. Of course nothing happens to him and he's still here. I just had a Google Image search and you're right, it's not the flue. What would it be then? Is it called the blow off? If I called tomorrow I can say it's the boiler blow off? What would cause water to be pouring out of that? Is water pouring out of that more serious than water pouring from the flue? Would I need to wait until the water came in through my windows? Right now it's in the middle of the wall, in between bedrooms and it's jet black right down the middle and off to the side of that it's soaking wet but those parts of the wall haven't turned black yet. by scotswizard (Mon 4th May 2020 10:08pm)
  • Fair enough. At least I know what it is called now and can tell them that on the phone tomorrow. I've just went outside and the entire path is just one big puddle. I don't mind the wall being black because I'm renting so there's 4 years on record of this problem being reported and someone coming out and then it starts again so whatever damage is done it's not my job to fix, it's theirs. I don't know what damage it can do. I know there's quite a few of those plastic things in the bricks with the little holes I think to let the building breath, they're black too and dripping. I didn't know if that water could affect the other side of the bricks which will be plasterboard. All I can do is call tomorrow and ask that they can contact a relative and see if they can get him to answer the phone. by scotswizard (Mon 4th May 2020 11:01pm)

  • I'm just saying the city in general is a mess, especially when it comes to public places needing grass cut. I'm not talking about my garden, I'm talking about grass on public paths, grass growing up through the pavements, the general state of the pavements and roads. A lot needs fixing. You can care all you want about long grass and wildlife, at the end of the day the city needs to be clean and look clean. by scotswizard (Wed 15th Jul 2020 4:35pm)

  • A lot of you seem to really believe in all this COVID stuff so I wont say too much here but things only continue because people allow it too. I feel sorry if some of you are staying away from loved ones, especially if they are old and only have a limited number of birthdays and Christmases left and you're staying away from them. If anything did happen to them over the Christmas period and you've frightened yourself into staying away from them......I just hope you can all live with yourselves. I've never seen so many grown men and women so scared. Walking around in masks, hiding in their homes. By all means shield yourself, I just hope it doesn't weigh on your conscience. by scotswizard (Fri 30th Oct 2020 11:50pm)

  • I don't care about the reveal, I never even watched the video. If you want to walk around thinking there's an invisible killer virus in the air then so be it, go and wear your masks and hide like a scared child from your parents and grandparents. The rest of us will live our life as best we can. And if your parents and grandparents are ill or old and you stay away from them this winter and anything happens to them and you don't see them cause you're too scared to do anything without permission, it's you that will have that on your conscious for the rest of your life, not me. by scotswizard (Sat 31st Oct 2020 12:51am)
  • And it's your choice to make, it's your life at the end of the day, whatever is going to get you through the day. It's a good thing they know how to use Skype too so at least there is a way of seeing each others facial expressions, something you can't do when you have a mask on. All I would ask is that if things do get bad this winter and it comes to us all, we're all headed the same way, please go and see them in person. Don't say your goodbyes over a phone or over a webcam. So many people have passed away this year from many things and they've been separated from family members and loved ones and they were alone. And I would say that to everyone here if you have elderly relatives or family members that have serious health conditions, make sure you stay in touch, don't think you're being some great hero by staying away from them. You're not going to get any awards, you're not getting any thank yous from anyone, you're not gonna be thought of any more or less for doing it. Be with them in person if you can. by scotswizard (Sat 31st Oct 2020 1:22am)
  • Brandy you are the ideal person to reply to here. Since you're a respiratory nurse can you please tell people about PCR tests since that is what is being used to test for coronavirus. Can you tell people here that PCR tests cannot detect infectious diseases, that the inventor of the test said himself it should never be used to test for infectious diseases and that PCR tests infect are used to diagnose many other things. Please educate us all on the PCR tests. You know what the truth is, the hospitals are empty, they've been empty for 7 months. I know people who work in care homes, they haven't changed in 7 months. What has changed though? GP surgeries and hospitals being empty to the point that people are missing their routine appointments, illnesses that have not been diagnosed, people too frightened to ask for help incase they have to go to the hospital and put the NHS under "pressure". That's what has really happened and that is a sad and terrible thing. I'm not guilt tripping anyone and I think that's the reason why so many nurses were dancing on Tik Tok back when this pandemic started, they didn't have the backbone to say the truth but through the dancing they gave their own little wink to the camera to let people know....nothing is going on. We've got time to dance, why? Place is empty. They've never been emptier. So if you really are a nurse, well done you, you're in a good job, most likely a good pension too so you wont be affected by the job losses about to hit millions of others, you'll not need to worry about keeping a roof over your head but if you're gonna come on here talking about your job at least talk about the PCR tests. Don't write covid in capital letters as if trying to prove a point, educate these people on the PCR tests and what they really pick up in a test and when someone tests positive or negative.....what that really means. And for the rest of you, you can do what you want. This is the modern day "woke" culture for you. This is modern day Glasgow. People walking around with no backbone. Imbeciles walking around with masks in the street, I'm ashamed of my own city, Glasgow used to have a reputation, that reputation is gone. I was a big supported of independence back in 2014 but after what Nicola Sturgeon has done? There wont ever be independence. If she told you to hop on one leg you would do it. Masking up your kids. Masking up your family. Staying away from your parents and grandparents. You should be the ones ashamed of yourselves, abusing your own families like that, that's what it is, abuse and if anything did happen to them you would all justify it by saying " we had protect the NHS", " we did it for their own good", "they died because we tried to help them". Wouldn't you? Of course you would cause that's what abusers do, they justify their actions. That's what your'e doing to your own families and you alone. I know I'll be seeing my family any time I want, I wont be restricted or hiding away in my home. And another thing with Nicola Sturgeon, what a nice person she is. To announce on TV that Santa is a key worker and the elves are key workers and he has a hard job getting to everyone but he will deliver Christmas presents. How nice of Nicola to say that knowing full well her actions are going to put a lot of people out of work.....ironically enough at midnight tonight when Furlough ends.....and many Mums and Dads wont have the money to buy their kids Christmas presents this year. How nice of her. It's cause she cares you know. She cares. A kind hearted woman. Don't worry kids you'll get your presents from Santa......we'll soon see what kind of Christmas many Scottish families have. Oh and another thing. Don't forget to pay your council tax and rent and mortgage. Pandemics! Big reduction in wages and unemployment! Make sure they're all paid. You don't get help with them. No freebies in this "pandemic". by scotswizard (Sat 31st Oct 2020 11:59am)
  • I don't think that at all. I think they are using "flu like symptoms" and diagnosing it a thing called covid. Lots of things have flu like symptoms like hayfever.....tends to come around in the spring time. Flu like symptoms.....tend to come around in the Autumn and winter. No i don't think there's any grand conspiracy, I just think they are taking symptoms for things that have been around centuries and renaming it covid to frighten people. I think Trump is doing a great thing, he knows the country needs to open up and get back to work, he knows himself what the truth is. Furlough ends tonight. This is when we will start seeing people's true natures when bills still need to be paid, food and electricity need to be paid and a constant opening and closing of businesses finishes many businesses off for good. If you're unemployed like many Scottish people are it wont affect you. If you are disabled you'll be fine, you'll all get your rent paid and you'll get your giros as usual and a wee discount on the council tax but for everyone else.....well we'll see how it goes. by scotswizard (Sat 31st Oct 2020 12:18pm)
  • Yeah like the dancing nurses. Hospitals are empty. Trump's miraculous recovery....*wink wink*. There is actually over 11,000 doctors and scientists saying otherwise, saying no to lockdowns, saying masks don't work, lots and lots of scientists and doctors, you can see them all, all using their names and they say otherwise. So the governments may tell you the scientific advice says one thing, there's 11,000 other doctors and scientists saying different. I guess it just depends which ones you want to listen to. by scotswizard (Sat 31st Oct 2020 12:39pm)
  • Half an hour to drive 7 miles. I think the drivers are frightened to go over 30mph. They must drag it out so that they stop at every red light, stop at every stop. by scotswizard (Tue 3rd Nov 2020 9:29pm)
  • I bet you used a ruler to get those lines. by scotswizard (Thu 19th Nov 2020 8:45pm)
  • Haha It is a nice drawing. Did you visit Kelvingrove to get a closer look at it all? by scotswizard (Fri 20th Nov 2020 12:14pm)
  • I haven't been there in a long time so I've no idea if anything has been changed on the outside, I should probably take a trip over there sometime maybe even during this lockdown when it will be quiet just to see it again. It's amazing what info there is on Google these days lol. by scotswizard (Fri 20th Nov 2020 3:55pm)
  • My instructor told me that and to be fair they did tell me that at the beginning so it's not like I didn't know and only stopped after 6 months. Also that was the only time I was driving, no one else would take me out lol. They took me round some of the test areas to get me used to what it would be like and where I would be driving in an actual test. by scotswizard (Mon 30th Nov 2020 6:56pm)
  • The bike lanes are a recent thing, they weren't all over the city when I was doing my lessons and that was about a year and a half ago I stopped. Then they have these barricade things up to widen the pavements. I just think it makes a mess of the roads. I can understand you riding on the pavement, it's a fear of getting knocked down but when I'm on a bus, it's not like the roads are moving at a fast pace. Everybody is stopping and starting and the bus thing is a con. I've talked to many people who work here but are not from here and they all tell me the same thing, it would never happen in their home town. The buses go at the same speed as cars and the buses are on all night and day. I get that the drivers are just doing their job, they're probably told they need to make a 7 mile journey last 30 minutes regardless of the time of day so they're gonna stretch it out and pretend they can't start the bus quickly, maybe stop at a bus stop where someone is sitting even though they haven't put their hand out just to waste a minute stopping then opening the door then closing the door and then getting into first gear again and then....wouldn't you know it, it's another red light. Need to sit for a few more minutes and then all the cars drive past while the driver tries to get going in first gear again. I get it. They're just doing their job. They have to drag the arse out it. The prices are another thing, even in other parts of Scotland I couldn't believe people telling me the prices they pay for buses and trains. Glasgow is definitely getting fleeced, big time. I think that is something to do with the big companies like First Bus, where as in other parts of Scotland and down south, there can be many companies running services so they're competing where as here it's First Bus, McGills and the Colchri buses? They can get away with charging what they want. It just seems like the roads aren't what they were even 18 months ago and I've no doubt my instructor will have raised their price to £29 or £30 an hour now. It's a lot to pay for an hour. I think what went against me was I didn't get any driving experience outside of those lessons and when I gave them up I had done everything I had to do, I was only practising the things I needed help with so there was certain roundabouts I wasn't good on, reverse parking was hit and miss and then it was mostly practising but to be told another 4 - 6 months to be ready and then I'm adding that up in my head how much the money is and then a few other things happened I quickly put the kibosh on it. I do think about it often though and if it would be worth my while trying it again or if the future is indeed electric cars and maybe all major city centres are closed off and there will be no more roads at all in them and it will just be walking spaces. by scotswizard (Mon 30th Nov 2020 7:15pm)
  • You get mould and mildew spray for £1 out of B&M. Give your beams a spray with that and it gets rid of it. by scotswizard (Fri 4th Dec 2020 7:28pm)
  • REMOVED It's nothing to do with health, it's control. If there was a virus in the air a mask and standing 6 feet from someone wouldn't stop it and you would be seeing people keel over in the street. Now they say even with a vaccine you still have to wear a mask and social distance. It's a load of nonsense and good on the people that walk around without a mask and go into shops without one on. The quicker more people do this the quicker this stuff comes to an end. And if you do believe there is a virus, by all means keep wearing your mask and social distancing. But you also need to respect the rest of us when we decide not to do those things. Just like the kids that believe in Santa there are people over the age of 18 watching TV everyday and they believe everything the TV man tells them, they buy papers. It's not their fault. They don't know any better, it's just how they've been brought up and if that's you reading this post, you can't help it, I know that, you just really want to protect others don't you? And you think you're in some kind of Netflix show where the world is covered in a mysterious virus, I know, it's not your fault but educate yourself on it and if it's an issue......just keep out of the way of the rest of us cause we're trying to get on with things as normally as possible. If you want to fuck about putting masks on and acting like an arsehole in shops wait and do it with other people. Try and get a big group of you together, a big melting pot of society, all the masks and gloves on to protect you from the invisible virus and yous can all fuck about at the same time while the rest of us just want to get about the shops as normal. by scotswizard (Sat 12th Dec 2020 11:31pm)
  • DELETED Plenty of information online about the effectiveness of wearing masks. It's about control. Think of it this way. If they asked you to do this back in March would you have? Would you have done it to your kids? Of course not. But if you break people down over time.....people get used to doing it so after a few months we had to wear them in shops. That's the first babystep, the next one was having kids wear them just in the corridor between classes, the next baby step is now they are used to doing it in the corridors....they have to wear them in the classes. For the adults it will soon be you wont be allowed to walk the streets without one on. There is no virus. It has not been isolated which is what would happen when a new infectious disease is found. The PCR tests used to test for the "virus" cannot detect any infectious disease, only genetic particles and at 37 cycles and above is useless. The NHS currently uses over 40 cycles so changing those cycles can make the numbers do what you want, it can make them go up or down but the PCR tests don't test for COVID 19, COVID 19 has not been isolated, it's just the cycles (the amplification) is picking up old genetic material which is in all of our bodies. It's 100% about control and nothing about health. There is nothing in the air and there is nothing to catch and before anyone talks to me about death figures go and compare this years with last years and the years before......the same amount of people are dying this year as any other year. What that tells you is that a lot of people in this country actually have no idea just how many people die on a daily basis. Unfortunately that's life and I guarantee you by the 31st of December this year, it'll be no different than 2019 or 2018 or 2017. It's the same average number of deaths as any other year. Put it this way and you don't all need to reply to this. I want you all to think of your families. How many of you have had COVID in your family? How mnay of your friends have had COVID and I'm sure on here that's a big skew right. That's Catholics, Protestants, Muslims, Jews, Atheists and everything in between. How many of you have COVID in your family? Not many? You not think that's a bit odd? For something that's meant to be an invisible virus, it's passed through the air! It can be passed onto money! It can be on your letters! What about all the people like me that walk around with no mask? Do you not think all that's a bit queer? When you're masking yourself and your children to the point they can't breathe properly and you see people like me breathing the nice clean air does it never pass through your head when you walk past me that maybe it's not what you think it is, not even a quick glance at me? For something that was meant to be 3 weeks to flatten the curve it's now 9 months of control and no end in sight, even with the vaccine which......we'll see how it goes in the care homes. It's something I think about and I don't jump out the way of people but I respect people's right to do that to me. If they're frightened to stand near me or walk past me in the street with no mask on I have no issue with that. It's their belief, they believe everything the TV tells them and they'll do what Nicola Sturgeon tells them. There's nothing there at all. The air is as clean as it was in February. A lot of people have lost their jobs for nothing. A lot of businesses shut down for nothing and I feel for those that have felt that and still believe there's a virus because one day the penny will drop and they'll realise it's all nonsense and they lost their business and their job for a load of shite. They'll still struggle along to pay their rent and mortages and council tax. What a cheek. At least on the Netflix and the TV shows if the world encounters a virus people would fight it and stay indoors. This killer virus from China is meant to be here......and people still need to pay their rent and mortage lol. They still need to pay council tax. The evictions that were postponed in March are starting in January. It's about to get very real in the coming weeks. They couldn't even get that part right. They couldn't even get all the governments to agree together to tell people to get food and drink and 3 month supply of medicine and keep yourselves locked up and eat vegetables and eat well. No. Every council has shut down but council tax still has to be paid. A joke. More and more people have sussed that it's a lot of shite and they're rightly ignoring anything the governments say. And you shouldn't cross one council boundary to the other, or what? I seen the Celtic supporters the other week on video, what did the Police do? That's what happens when you have people in large numbers. Everyone else stands down and this whole COVID thing would end tomorrow if people just took their masks off and everybody opened their businesses up, what are the Police going to do? Literally millions of us in the general public and how many of them? When it comes down to it, they don't have any power, none of them do, they only have power when you give them it. And I certainly hope more and more Scots do the same thing and take the masks off, if the shop workers refuse you entry that's fine. Not many will survive it anyway. Forget Braehead and Silverburn next Christmas. The malls are a thing of the past now so if they don't want your money cause you have no mask you just walk away and hopefully someone with a mask will spend enough money to keep the rent of the shop going and pay the wages of the staff. This all ends as soon as enough people stop doing it. by scotswizard (Sun 13th Dec 2020 12:11am)
  • DELETED Of course the world of physicians and academics are not engaged in any conspiracy, many Drs have said on TV that any cycle about 37 is useless. The PCR tests diagnose many things, the inventor of the test even said it should never be used to test for infectious diseases. PCR tests are routine. Did you think there was some kind of special test for COVID? No nothing special just a swab from your tongue and your nostril. If we are to believe it is real then we must look at the figures.....the average age is 82 years old. Less than 400 people out of over 40,000 deaths were under that age. It has a very high survival rate. So think about that next time. Don't say COVID test, call it by what it is, a PCR test,a swab from your tongue and your nose, common routine, as common as a nurse taking blood. And think how every sporting event, every church, every shop, every pub, every hotel in the country was shut down in the space of one night and 9 months later we see that less than 400 people.............out of over 40,000 deaths...........were under the age of 82. That's why we shut things down? That's why we are locking things down in January again after giving people some crumbs at Christmas so they can see their families. That's how businesses and jobs have been lost? That's of course if you believe there is a virus. What are the symptoms of the virus? Flu like symptoms. What do we have in March? Hayfever. What do we have in July? Hot weather. What do we have in November? Cold weather. All causing runny noses, watery eyes, sneezing, chest issues. All the same symptoms so I would hazard a guess that anyone who passed away after being diagnosed with COVID had a seriously bad case of the flu or had underlying health conditions where hay fever/flu would have caused them problems but that's not unusual for 2020. Anyone with underlying health conditions would have to keep an eye on themselves any year, 2019, 2018, 2017, this year wouldn't have been any different. A bad dose of the cold or a bad chest infection would have knocked them for 6 regardless and that's another thing about numbers, over 40,000 every year die from the common cold. The average person on the street doesn't know that. So they watch the TV and it's 100 infections and this and that, it's nothing compared to how many people take ill every year. The hospitals have been empty all year. As much as I don't think they have much courage I do think that is why so many nurses were dancing on Tik Tok early on. They would get struck off for saying otherwise but I'd like to think the dancing was their way of winking at the camera and letting people know......there's nothing going on here. No one's on a ventilate. There is no COVID wards full of people. A little knowing wink to the viewers on Tik Tok to see if people pick up on it. You can be as furious as you want, I don't care, Glasgow is nothing like it used to be even 10 years ago. Where did all the real men go, the real women, where are they all? Glasgow got soft, it lost it's backbone and now it's a filthy dirty little city full of holes on the roads and pavements, parks that aren't attended to, the council put the homeless up in hotels for free, for free! And yet there's still people hanging around the streets ....by choice of course. So you can be furious all you want from behind your keyboard. I just can't believe what my home city has turned into. I never dreamed I'd live here with so many wimps that walk around feart, feart and shiting themselves thinking there's a virus in their air. Making sure their own kids can't breathe properly by covering their mouths in a mask too and forcing them to live in that reality. What kind of man or woman does that to their own child. Not the real men and women of Glasgow. Not real genuine Glaswegian parents. This is what infests our city now. No courage whatsoever. It's people like you that have made Glasgow the way it is now. These mamby pamby men and women that are scared of their own shadow. If Nicola Sturgeon told you to hop on one leg you would. by scotswizard (Sun 13th Dec 2020 12:49am)
  • REMOVED PCR tests have been around a long long time, very common tests. They do not however and cannot detect an infectious disease. The sars covid 19 virus has never been isolated therefore no specific test can be tested for it and even if it did exist.....a PCR test wouldn't be able to pick it up anyway! And need I talk about the many Doctors and scientists who also back this up and who also say masks don't work and there is no need for lockdowns? Plenty of people in the medical world have called this out for what it is and have gladly put their real names out there and spoke openly even though they know they can be struck off for doing so. I think things will got a lot worse before they get any better but things will work out ok in the end. I wont catch covid. The most I'll get is a touch of the cold just like any other year and it will be treated with Halls Soothers and some Ibuprofen. by scotswizard (Sun 13th Dec 2020 1:05am)
