Interests:

  • Driftwood is another one of them as well. You can tell by the alcohol they use on the bars. by Axelmanana (Tue 8th Jan 2019 4:06pm)
  • Nah lads, the deep fried Mars bar comes from The Carron in Stonehaven, up near Aberdeen. Went to school up near the area, and there's a big sign on the place advertising it as well. by Axelmanana (Sat 12th Jan 2019 10:58am)
  • Raven's got a double chocolate stout on tap right now. Had a taster of it about an hour ago. Seemed pretty alright. by Axelmanana (Thu 17th Jan 2019 5:07pm)
  • 'Bout to get fucked by an exam that despite revising constantly over the past week, proceeded to get overly terrified and not sleep at all. Genuinely, looking at these mock papers over the last few hours, and my brain just isn't coping. Wish me luck for the re-sit in August! by Axelmanana (Thu 24th Jan 2019 8:44am)
  • Think some of that info is outdated, yeah. Tollcross, while not the richest place in the world, is perfectly fine. Worst hassle we've had here has been an arsehole neighbour who was drunkenly trying to threaten people to let him into the building via the intercom. Area is quiet, got a fair choice for food shopping and there's buses every 5-10 minutes into the city centre. by Axelmanana (Tue 29th Jan 2019 12:05pm)
  • Man, maybe its just me but the east end of the city, while not the prettiest place in the world, isn't all that bad. Dennistoun is getting gentrified as time marches on. Parkhead isn't amazing, but I've never felt unsafe walking through the place at night. Tollcross is pretty solid, if a bit of a fucker for taxis. Dalmarnock and the road up to Mount Vernon is just car dealerships and industrial estates. People would have had me believe that this part of the city was essentially the bad parts of Batman Begins' Gotham. Shock horror, most people just want to get on with their lives, so unless you're looking for trouble, you'll be fine. by Axelmanana (Tue 29th Jan 2019 12:18pm)
  • I mean, Greater Glasgow accounts for about a fifth of the total population of the country, so a fifth of the total crime is about proportionate. Glasgow has its problems, sure, but christ you don't have exaggerate. I can't speak for Ibrox, but I regularly walk through Parkhead on match days and the largest issue I've had is the mass amount of people on the footpaths making it an issue to get to my destination. Also, fuck off with the stuff about the nightlife. People talk about it because the city has a pretty unparalleled gig scene in Scotland, a wide selection of pubs, bars and clubs that'll please most, and a pretty awesome selection of eateries across the city. And no, I'm not Glaswegian. by Axelmanana (Tue 29th Jan 2019 12:31pm)
  • Also, don't trust Best Kebab's name when you get here. It's highly misleading. by Axelmanana (Tue 29th Jan 2019 12:36pm)
  • Any of you lads at the Fun Lovin' Criminals gig last Saturday? Think it might be up there as one of my favourite gigs since moving here tbh. Love the Academy and Hydro, but jesus, its pretty hard to beat the Barrowlands as a venue. by Axelmanana (Wed 6th Feb 2019 12:56pm)
  • Fuck both of you lads. You're making me want to actually visit Cumbernauld just to experience this. by Axelmanana (Sat 9th Feb 2019 6:01pm)
  • Honestly lad, you'll be fine in fair amounts of the East End. Dennistoun, Alexandra Parade and Tollcross are all perfectly good areas to live in these days. Outside of that, it depends pretty heavily on your budget. You'll manage a 2-bedroom in Dennistoun for anywhere from £600 to £900 monthly. Partick's still pretty class, but it's getting up in price these days, around £750 to £950 per month for a 2 bed. Mount Florida and Langside around the college is pretty nice, and it's not hideously expensive these days. by Axelmanana (Sat 9th Feb 2019 9:07pm)
  • I used to work in, and now have to walk to, Carntyne every day for work. Maybe it used to be rough, but it just seems like a suburb now tbh. by Axelmanana (Sun 10th Feb 2019 11:04am)
  • But he ended his sentence with 'haha'. Who'd end with that if they definitely weren't talking shite? by Axelmanana (Mon 11th Feb 2019 7:33pm)
  • If you're just wanting a place to just get drunk at, we fucked off to Shenanigans over on Sauchiehall Street for our staff party recently. It's a bit of a dive bar tbh, but the pints are about £3.50-ish and they blocked off the entire back half for us. The staff were pretty alright craic as well, so it was a good night. by Axelmanana (Tue 19th Feb 2019 9:25am)
  • I pop into the St. Enoch centre a bit more than the Buchanan, and I can attest to the Gyros place in there being some pretty great shite as well. by Axelmanana (Tue 19th Feb 2019 5:50pm)
  • Aye. I should probably try to differentiate between terms of enjoyment better on the internet. by Axelmanana (Tue 19th Feb 2019 6:53pm)
  • Yo, what? I swear, it's been like 2 weeks since I was in. Fuck. by Axelmanana (Tue 19th Feb 2019 8:43pm)
  • True. To be fair though, £500 million is an fuckload of cash to somehow patch up. If the current council are shit when they've filled the financial hole, that's when they need chucked. by Axelmanana (Wed 20th Feb 2019 7:59pm)
  • Get a box of cake mix from Tesco and tape a photo of a really old painting on the front. by Axelmanana (Thu 21st Feb 2019 11:25pm)
  • SNP/Labour fighting aside, I don't think I've ever heard anyone say great shit about Frank McAveety from anyone who's had the pleasure of dealing with him. How the fuck is he still here? by Axelmanana (Thu 21st Feb 2019 11:34pm)
  • Given that Sapporo is cheaper, probably better known here and actually pretty nice, I give Benihana a couple of years before it's shut. Then again, I keep thinking that one of these days Best Kebab will just disappear overnight, leaving only the stench of disappointment and stale pittas in its wake. Assume Benihana will outlast us all. by Axelmanana (Sat 23rd Feb 2019 4:09pm)
  • Apparently there's someplace called GET over in the Rutherglen Shopping Centre, but outside of that, GForce is your main non-GAME/CeX spot. Check through your Cash Generators/Converters etc. for stuff though. Prices are surprisingly on-point, which I never expected before tbh. Picked up Dishonored's Definitive Edition for the PS4 for less than a fiver in the Forge one. by Axelmanana (Sun 24th Feb 2019 10:08pm)
  • Much as I like moaning about the council, all that article says is that they were denied a change of use. Could just as easily be that the owners were being cunts with their application as well. by Axelmanana (Thu 28th Feb 2019 3:50pm)
  • It's actually a fairly non-shit Meze place up there. It's fucking weird, but the food was alright. by Axelmanana (Thu 28th Feb 2019 6:43pm)
  • I'll vouch for Qua. Went there for a birthday meal a bit back and we got some properly nice meals. Your waiters and that were great craic as well. by Axelmanana (Sun 3rd Mar 2019 7:42pm)
  • If you travel up north to Aberdeen, Attic Clothing in The Academy Shopping Centre stocks them. If you know someone who works at the Garage/Cathouse/other Lettuce Up North places, you might be able to get a discount if you bring them with you. Not sure if they've still got that agreement though. by Axelmanana (Fri 8th Mar 2019 9:00pm)
  • You guys clearly haven't lived on the Camglen Radio diet. Nothing beats local radio, where the DJs have only just heard of the concept of talking by themselves to fill time. by Axelmanana (Sat 9th Mar 2019 8:29pm)
  • If you're just wanting the boxes, pop up to Seawoo and you'll be able to buy around 25,000 at a time. You could build a house from them. Problem solved. by Axelmanana (Fri 15th Mar 2019 3:13pm)
  • From what I've gleamed, the higher murder rate in Glasgow is due in part to gang-on-gang shit. As long as you're avoiding 'organised' crime, you're pretty much solid. by Axelmanana (Wed 20th Mar 2019 11:28am)
  • Nothing quite like waking up after exactly 3 hours of sleep, entirely unable to force yourself back. Going to use this time to be productive. Get some work done! Get on that Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson lifestyle! Think I'll watch a documentary on the creation of Darude's Sandstorm. by Axelmanana (Mon 1st Apr 2019 6:53am)
  • To be honest, I think it's the same for (at least) Hampden and Network. by Axelmanana (Thu 4th Apr 2019 11:49am)
  • Give Santander a try. It's a call centre job, so it's not 'wanking-while-skydiving' exciting, but you'll get an hour break with two 15 minute ones on top of that. By all accounts, it's one of the less shit ones to be in. That and Tesco Bank apparently. by Axelmanana (Thu 4th Apr 2019 6:25pm)
  • I'll never complain about airport transfers here after coming back from Iceland. £15 each way, minimum, and even more to get to your hotel from the bus station it takes you to. Great country, but fuck does it put prices everywhere else into perspective. by Axelmanana (Thu 4th Apr 2019 6:31pm)
  • Nah, not that I know of. Most, if not all, of your Hispanic food places in Glasgow are Spanish or Mexican focused/inspired. I'd be happy to be proven wrong though. by Axelmanana (Mon 8th Apr 2019 3:16pm)
  • Did iOS ever get a properly good Reddit app? I tried using Alien Blue when I broke my old phone and had to use an old iPhone for a while, but it just seemed nowhere near as well designed as the Reddit apps I've used on android. by Axelmanana (Mon 8th Apr 2019 7:03pm)
  • Unless the car has any real specific value to you, I'd recommend just getting yourself a car for while you're here. (I'm assuming that the price of importing a car is fair levels of substantial.) For getting around the city, public transport should fair suit you. Saying that, transporting shopping can be a bit shite unless you're close to a supermarket, and it does limit your options for travelling outside the city (Day trips to the countryside, dumping bodies, going to the big shopping centres etc.). by Axelmanana (Tue 9th Apr 2019 8:00pm)
  • Well, that's something at least. Wonder when we can finally reroute them them on the ferry to Larne and leave them there. by Axelmanana (Tue 16th Apr 2019 11:32pm)
  • Really? 'What's more annoying. Protestant supremacy marches made to intimidate catholics, or people who are angry they continue to happen.' Fucking christ, lad. by Axelmanana (Wed 17th Apr 2019 9:19am)
  • That's pretty close to the case with Ross Thomson with the Tories up in Aberdeen as well. He's someone who never should have made it past being a list MSP at most, considering every person who has ever known the man realises he's not the sharpest lightbulb in the drawer. But now instead of constantly doing coke in the bathroom of Dusk/NOX and getting aggressive with the staff there, he's doing it at the House of Commons bar. by Axelmanana (Wed 17th Apr 2019 10:57am)
  • I'll be honest, this'll totally fuck me because my bar shuts at 3am. Cleanup will be until about 4-ish, half 4 at the latest. I live a fair bit out of the city centre, so I stall a private hire back to my flat. This'll make getting one absolute murder when I'm done. I do recognise that this'll eventually change though, so I'm not one to be against the idea. by Axelmanana (Wed 17th Apr 2019 8:46pm)
  • Honestly, this is why I don't fuck with Kelvingrove Park when it's sunny. Glasgow has too many nice parks to be surrounded by droves of people at just the one. Tollcross Park is basically fucking empty, and the only creatures you'll be bothered by are squirrels and dogs. by Axelmanana (Sat 20th Apr 2019 6:07pm)
  • At the very least, make sure your PM's are set to trusted only. People are actively sending out spoilers. It's seriously fucking good though. Probably the best cinema experience I've had. by Axelmanana (Thu 25th Apr 2019 11:32pm)
  • No, it's pretty much because the staff at Keflavik couldn't give a shit. Source: Have been through Keflavik Airport. by Axelmanana (Sat 27th Apr 2019 7:58pm)
  • Ah, don't be putting yourself out of the running just yet. I'm sure you've got a shot. by Axelmanana (Mon 29th Apr 2019 1:25pm)
  • Starting to really miss MegaBytes in the city centre. I imagine it probably wasn't the most profitable place, but fuck, it was nice to be able to sit down on comfy couches and play split-screen with friends. The lads running it were solid craic as well. Anywhere close to a similar style in the city now? by Axelmanana (Tue 30th Apr 2019 9:52am)
  • Isn't that Geek Retreat? Don't remember having any issues with MegaBytes's smell at any point. They seemed to make the not idiotic decision to deep-fry food below ground sans ventilation. I also don't think the place had enough people at one time to have any smell other than the coffee machine. by Axelmanana (Tue 30th Apr 2019 11:32am)
  • One of you better be changing your names to Noelle, otherwise what's the point! Nah, congrats lads! Wheatus are fuckin' great craic to do that for you. by Axelmanana (Mon 6th May 2019 11:17pm)
  • Unless you've got yourself a car, you'll have to book yourself an Ulsterbus or Citylink from Cairnryan to Buchanan Bus Station. Not particularly cheap, about £20-ish if I remember correctly. by Axelmanana (Fri 10th May 2019 1:46am)
  • I see those Speirs Wharf flats turn up on RightMove every once in a while, and every single time, it makes me fucking hate being a poor student. by Axelmanana (Thu 16th May 2019 10:50am)
  • Throw one out quickly. Been drinking a lot of Wester Rum when I've had the opportunity when I'm out. Really smooth rum tbh. by Axelmanana (Sat 18th May 2019 7:05pm)
  • Man, waking up still drunk and able to eats sounds fuckin' baller like. Last time, the hangover fucked me bad enough that it took me two fucking hours before I could even look at the rolls I ordered in. by Axelmanana (Tue 21st May 2019 11:14am)
  • Is the rat problem strictly an 'around city centre' thing? Living over in the East End, and the only rats or mice I've seen have been in pet shops. by Axelmanana (Fri 24th May 2019 3:12pm)
  • I asked over in the One O One over on Cambridge Street last time I was in, and apparently it sells real fuckin' well. I actually recommend it to tourists whenever they come in to my bar, because that's something dead fucking specific to Glasgow. by Axelmanana (Fri 24th May 2019 5:03pm)
  • It's really not. I'm pretty obviously not Protestant, and outside of a couple of dickheads, I've been fine over the past 4-ish years living here. It's exaggerated to a fair extent. by Axelmanana (Sat 25th May 2019 5:50am)
  • Wait, which Tayto are you looking for? Free Stayto or Nordie Tayto? You'll find Nordie Tayto across a fair amount of the city like. Tayto from back below the border is nigh-unfindable in the city. Your best bet is ordering that in from Ireland. by Axelmanana (Mon 27th May 2019 3:22pm)
  • Got round to watching the new wrestling company AEW's big Double or Nothing show after missing it during work on Saturday. You know how, after you've done something for so long that you become a little numb to it, but something just kicks the fucking door open and reminds you why you enjoyed it in the first place? That was that. Even with the fantastic stuff happening in Japan and independent companies in the US and here, WWE's rank mediocrity actually stunted my enjoyment of wrestling as a whole. Double or Nothing actually made me excited about wrestling in a way that I haven't been since either when I personally stopped wrestling, or watching Wrestlemania 30 alongside all my friends years ago. It's a fucking lovely feeling, lads. by Axelmanana (Tue 28th May 2019 9:32am)
  • No, I'm OK thanks. by Axelmanana (Wed 29th May 2019 8:59pm)
  • I'm still trying to figure out what he's talking about the split with the 'libertarian paradise' and 'racist hotbed' stuff. As an aside, having moved to Glasgow a few years back and having visited Glasgow enough in the years before that, Glasgow is significantly nicer now. Sure, the city centre is getting a bit dim with shops closing and that, but that's literally everywhere. by Axelmanana (Wed 5th Jun 2019 10:21am)
  • Second the Revolut card. Ever since I fecked my Allied Irish account away, I just dump money onto the Revolut whenever I jump over to Ireland. by Axelmanana (Sun 9th Jun 2019 11:28pm)
  • I'd have a look through some of the charity shops in and around the city as well. Have seen more than a few sewing machines kicking around them, with a fair amount in the Duke Street ones. by Axelmanana (Thu 13th Jun 2019 3:26am)
  • That's definitely the Irish Herald. Have binned enough of them over the years. by Axelmanana (Thu 13th Jun 2019 5:31am)
  • So tonight was the last night of my pub (Shenanigans, or what used to be O'Neills on Sauchiehall Street), and honestly, it was a good send off. We're all pretty devestated at the closure, but there's definitely worse nights we could have had. Going to miss that place like nothing else. Sláinte to all the fucking great times both I, and everyone I've worked with had there. And yes, I'm beyond fucked right now. by Axelmanana (Sun 23rd Jun 2019 6:50am)
  • Trade slowed down a little over the last bit. Got bought over, and then immediately got told we were closing in a couple of weeks by the new owners. Bit shite, tbh. by Axelmanana (Sun 23rd Jun 2019 12:57pm)
  • By all accounts, no. People were given the option of moving to other locations in the company, but a **permanent** move to other locations. Otherwise, we'd just have come back after a while. Unfortunately, the rent on the place is hilariously low, so the new company can afford to keep it shut for as long as possible. And as long as the rent keeps hitting the owner's bank account, he won't want to change a thing. by Axelmanana (Sun 23rd Jun 2019 1:41pm)
  • Except what the fuck happens when the Home Office, who've been notoriously fucking hostile for the past age, are the reasons they end up lacking support. [The Ferret's monitoring data found that 60% of Section 4's that'd been denied support from the Home Office were fucking entitled to it.](https://theferret.scot/refugees-eviction-glasgow-errors/) Lest we forget the continual failures of Serco and other contractors whom'll do anything to cut costs and increase their profit margin. Removing these lads will do balls-to-the-fuck-all to allow more money to be spent on helping UK citizens. by Axelmanana (Tue 25th Jun 2019 11:13pm)
  • So, as far as I remember, Shelter will pick up your furniture for donation for free. Looked into it a couple of years back, and they straight out told me they'd work around my schedule. If you're anywhere around the Parkhead-ish area, you'll get a choice between the Rutherglen or City Centre one as well. by Axelmanana (Tue 25th Jun 2019 11:25pm)
  • That the Barras one? That one was a fuckin' blast. by Axelmanana (Thu 27th Jun 2019 2:06am)
  • Haha, fucking hell. Of course he's a fucking MGTOWer. Nothing quite says choosing to make it on your own without women like constantly complaining about women. by Axelmanana (Sat 6th Jul 2019 12:02am)
  • Lad, Generation Identity are fucking Richard Spencer-esque fascists. This is just the same method that multiple fascist groups do to seem like they're not the scum of the earth ([e.g. CasaPound in Italy)](https://www.theguardian.com/news/2018/feb/22/casapound-italy-mussolini-fascism-mainstream) Sad that they'd happily just kill the homeless if they ever got near power. by Axelmanana (Mon 8th Jul 2019 5:09pm)
  • If you're wanting a quick overview onto the whole 'Identitarian' movement, the Wikipedia page is a pretty good shout. [LINK](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Identitarian_movement). Essentially, they're Lauren Southern, Richard Spencer-style fascist fucks. What they're doing here is propagandising to those at their most vulnerable, spreading the blame to immigrants as the reason they're homeless. It's something CasaPound have done in Italy as well. Will see if I can find the leaflet I picked up off the street and upload it. Kept it because some of the stuff was straight out unicycling right along the line of proper Neo-Nazi shit. by Axelmanana (Mon 8th Jul 2019 5:59pm)
  • See, if you were smart, you'd have buried yourself under Glasgow Green weeks ago. Then, when the the festival started, dig yourself back up. Fucking foolproof. by Axelmanana (Wed 10th Jul 2019 8:55pm)
  • Don't listen to these lads, man. All you have to do is bring a bottle of Pimms with you to the entrance. They'll ask you what time it is, and all you have to say is 'It's Pimms o' clock!'. They'll quickly realise you have no actual friends and let you in out of pity. by Axelmanana (Fri 12th Jul 2019 1:02am)
  • By all accounts, working is their bars is pretty class like. Working for BrewDog corporate sounds like a complete fucking nightmare though. by Axelmanana (Mon 15th Jul 2019 7:33pm)
  • Nothing more terrifying than walking up either Windmill Brae or Justice Mill Lane with a kebab at 3 or 4am. Aberdeen might have a very low crime rate, but you can't prosecute seagulls. by Axelmanana (Sun 21st Jul 2019 7:32pm)
  • Dude, if they're Aberdonian seagulls, they're just fucking eating those pigeons. by Axelmanana (Sun 21st Jul 2019 7:44pm)
  • Specifically banks like HSBC and Barclays. They should give you English notes. by Axelmanana (Mon 22nd Jul 2019 6:11pm)
  • Have a look at Tollcross on Rightmove. On a bus route with three different buses to the city centre, and you'll manage a 1-bed for £500 or less easily. Maybe a 2-bed depending on your standards. Lived here for a fair few years now, and I think the worst thing that's happened was seeing a guy try the doors on cars in front of the park. Super quiet place, and there's a LIDL and the Parkhead Forge fairly close on the bus or by foot for shopping and the like. by Axelmanana (Thu 25th Jul 2019 10:01pm)
  • Aye, I love Tollcross Park. Shame the Winter Gardens have gone into disrepair, but I can imagine it's probably out of the way for a lot of people in the city. Park is fantastic this time of year though. No fucker actually comes here during the heatwave, so you can quite happily drink on the grass and BBQ a little in piece. Never seen anyone leave their rubbish behind either. Oh, the city's baseball teams play there as well. Pretty good craic when you catch it. by Axelmanana (Thu 25th Jul 2019 10:20pm)
  • Aye, when I was getting back into running, I was using Tollcross Park to begin with. Huge fucking mistake. Left that place for until my stamina levels were above that of a 60-year old smoker again. by Axelmanana (Thu 25th Jul 2019 10:39pm)
  • Think I saw a new baby Alpaca when I was walking past the petting zoo last night as well. by Axelmanana (Sat 27th Jul 2019 1:02pm)
  • Aye, listen to the other guy replying to this comment. The Celtic Park area and such sans football has a total population of fuck all. by Axelmanana (Mon 29th Jul 2019 12:14am)
  • If you hand it into the police, there's a good chance the lost property lads will try and get it back to them. They did that back in Aberdeen when my British passport fell out at some point and they'd managed to get a hold of it. by Axelmanana (Mon 5th Aug 2019 10:35am)
  • Huh, that's odd then. This is back a few years ago like, but they sent out a letter to the house requesting I was to pick it up within a certain period of time. Brought the letter, picked it up and that was that. There wasn't any contact info on the passport or anything, so I always just assumed they'd searched for the address or something. by Axelmanana (Mon 5th Aug 2019 11:32am)
  • Judging by the last present I wrapped, attempting to cut my own hair will result in at least 3 people dead. by Axelmanana (Mon 5th Aug 2019 1:44pm)
  • Update: Just threw another big fucker across the room when I went to stick my jacket on, and it flew right out on my sleeve and hit the wall. Feels like I'm being targeted by a mafia that's running super low on funds. by Axelmanana (Tue 6th Aug 2019 8:57pm)
  • The Cosa Mothtra by Axelmanana (Tue 6th Aug 2019 10:24pm)
  • Know it's a bit late, but thanks for the recommendation there lad. Probably the best cut I've had in a long while! by Axelmanana (Sun 11th Aug 2019 12:53am)
  • If you're wanting something incredibly Scottish, albeit not from Glasgow (Aberdeenshire), jump yourself into ALDI and pick up some butteries for taking home. Just in the toaster, with a bit more butter added on to afterwards. Fucking beautiful. Also, thanks to you lads for making work a lot more fun back at O'Neills/Shenanigans before we shut down. You lads were always great craic when you'd come in during the championships. by Axelmanana (Thu 15th Aug 2019 5:42am)
  • I mentioned it before, but I'd seriously recommend picking yourself up some butteries before you head out. If you're worried about them going stale or anything on your way back, keep in mind that they were literally created for Aberdonian fisherman to take out to sea for weeks at a time. Definitely one of the few things you'll find to be almost impossible picking up outside of Scotland. by Axelmanana (Thu 15th Aug 2019 9:13pm)
  • Aye, pop your way into Matthew's Foods, Seawoo and they'll definitely have it. If you can't be fucked jumping up that way, Oaka, Lims on Cambridge Street and the 100 Supermarket on Argyle are bound to have it. Oaka is a definite on that front. by Axelmanana (Thu 15th Aug 2019 9:19pm)
  • Check out Creative East End over by the Barras. Usually see some pretty nice stuff in there. by Axelmanana (Fri 16th Aug 2019 1:12am)
  • Might be able to pick yourself up a polo shirt from The Park Bar on Argyle Street, if you're looking for something a bit more Western Isles-y. by Axelmanana (Fri 16th Aug 2019 8:55pm)
  • Buy a t-shirt with the Pritt Stick logo on it. by Axelmanana (Thu 22nd Aug 2019 6:50pm)
  • Not hugely sure if they'll do it here, but back in Aberdeen the bar staff were all pretty solid about giving free soft drinks from the gun if you were there. Never asked if you were gambling either. by Axelmanana (Thu 22nd Aug 2019 6:56pm)
  • My other half actually would be heavy into this, if you could send over the details? Thanks a million, lad. by Axelmanana (Fri 23rd Aug 2019 12:04am)
  • You might be alright over at Arty Party by St. George's Cross. Bollix ton of fancy dress stuff in there IIRC. by Axelmanana (Fri 23rd Aug 2019 9:21am)
  • About 6-ish years back, I had to catch the bus into Aberdeen every day when I lived in Aberdeenshire. Was £7.40 return for the 30-ish mile journey. If I wanted the return to Stonehaven, a 10 mile journey on that exact bus, it was £7.80. A return to Dundee was £7.20, a 45 mile journey. Fucking Stagecoach. by Axelmanana (Sat 24th Aug 2019 8:18pm)
  • Christ, the garden of mini ones in the Forge creeps me the fuck out. I get they've been designed and painted by kids, but the child-designed paint with the well-realised Oor Wullie below it is too creepypasta-adjacent like. by Axelmanana (Mon 26th Aug 2019 7:34pm)
  • Oh fuck, you're that guy. by Axelmanana (Tue 27th Aug 2019 1:09pm)
  • Never had anything in the way of trouble, but I will say that there really aren't that much in the way of trains past midnight tbh. Maybe one or two? Upside is, depending on the train station, the gates will be open so you'll probably survive without buying a ticket. by Axelmanana (Tue 27th Aug 2019 2:16pm)
  • The two to keep a good eye out for jobs are Santander and Tesco. They're well regarded as being bar far the least afford of the call centres. The former, at the very least, gives you an hour and a half of breaks per day. by Axelmanana (Wed 28th Aug 2019 2:48pm)
  • Ah sure, never protest anything. Scotland voted to stay in 2014, so we should never show discontent with anything with UK government does. We should make it look like we're perfectly fine with everything that's happening, while cities across the rest of the UK show they're fucked off. We should just sit here in silence. Fuck off. by Axelmanana (Wed 28th Aug 2019 6:24pm)
  • I remember really enjoying Ardnamurchan when I went in. Semi similarly priced to Bothy, but I remember the meal being a lot nicer in there. I'll admit, I do tend to find nicer Scottish meals further up north. Glasgow makes up for it massively though, by having more varied choices in other restaurants than Aberdeen and the shire. Also, by not being Aberdeen. by Axelmanana (Thu 29th Aug 2019 11:40pm)
  • Either Gumtree or the Facebook Marketplace are probably your best shots to get them shot. If you're just wanting them fucked, charity shops will probably take the bulk. by Axelmanana (Fri 30th Aug 2019 1:47am)
  • Hang on a second, am I missing something or are they unironically using the tagline of Norsefire from the "V for Vendetta" film. by Axelmanana (Fri 30th Aug 2019 9:42pm)
  • Oh yes, please tell me how the jackbooted thugs who distributed leaflets happily using the tagline of the fascist Norsefire party from 'V for Vendetta' were simply concerned citizens counterprotesting the event. Fucking hell, not to get all 'enlightened centrist-y' about this, but this is actually a case of both sides seriously fucking sucking. You legit cannot call one side terrorists because of the support of terrorist acts without the fucking long history of Orange support of loyalist terrorism. Both sides here are fucking awful. Saoradh geebags are a fucking flaming pile of absolute shite. The Orange Lodge are a fucking flaming pile of absolute shite. by Axelmanana (Fri 30th Aug 2019 10:51pm)
  • Why the fuck would the loyalists support a continued armed struggle? They have literally nothing to 'struggle armedly' against. The UVF and UDA just moved into regular crime. by Axelmanana (Fri 30th Aug 2019 11:10pm)
  • Loads are usually kicking about Tollcross because of the park having a lot of areas where they can safely live. Also because there's a biscuit factory that they're probably living off the scraps from. by Axelmanana (Fri 30th Aug 2019 11:22pm)
  • I mean, it seriously fucking sucks that Saoradh and the IRPWA are getting to march, but at the same time, neither are proscribed associations. This is literally the most no-win situation for the council, because banning these marches would mean banning Orange marches as well. As fucking excited as that would make me, I can imagine that would lead to some pretty horrific shit with the loyalist cunts. Don't allow these marches, and you'll get shite from the Saoradh cunts as well as possibly opening them up to legal action. What a fucking shite situation. by Axelmanana (Thu 5th Sep 2019 12:28am)
  • Glasgow has some fantastic Indian restaurants going about. Can't really go wrong with Ranjit's Kitchen or Mother India. Paradise is an excellent Persian restaurant out in the West End that I'll always recommend. Their Ghormeh Sabzi is outstanding. If you're wanting some more traditional Scottish fare, Ardamurchan in the city centre is great. The selection of Scottish restaurants is probably stronger in other cities in Scotland, but it doesn't mean the ones here aren't great though. If you're dead set on getting some Sushi, I've never gotten something out of Okome I didn't like. Nippon Kitchen is a great shout from your man above as well. by Axelmanana (Wed 11th Sep 2019 11:20am)
  • If you're unable to carry it, interpret the advice differently and just shite on their doorstep. by Axelmanana (Fri 13th Sep 2019 8:13am)
  • Windier, usually. It's why the buses are packed with old people. They're worried if they stay outdoors too long, they'll be carried away by the wind and stuck on top of tall buildings. by Axelmanana (Sat 14th Sep 2019 8:50pm)
  • Aye, that's what I thought, but Cook and Indi's seem to have won a fair curry awards. Fuck knows how, 'cause their curry is only alright like. Wonder if we're gonna see a closure of one or two of their locations, since shaving off £4m isn't exactly small beans. by Axelmanana (Wed 18th Sep 2019 5:22pm)
  • Best Kebab is less "curry house' than it is 'crack house'. by Axelmanana (Thu 19th Sep 2019 12:45am)
  • Fucking wild talking to a couple of Yanks at university, both saying that they'd never heard of Robbie Williams. I'd always assumed he was this global fucking megastar in the 2000's, but apparently that never applied to the US. Imagine growing up in the noughties and not having Angels being sung at every single possible moment of your life. by Axelmanana (Thu 3rd Oct 2019 7:42am)
  • Because Aberdeen was expensive and shite, and Dublin was also expensive (slightly less shite). Love living here though. Love the sectarianism a little less. Aberdeen just has the regular racism, thank you. by Axelmanana (Sat 5th Oct 2019 1:43am)
  • Haha fucking hell, that's so obtuse it's almost unreal. by Axelmanana (Tue 8th Oct 2019 1:33pm)
  • That Willie Rennie addition is the most recognition Willie has had tbf. Can't be taking that away from him. by Axelmanana (Tue 8th Oct 2019 1:36pm)
  • I'd fuckin' kill for a Luas-type system to be implemented in Glasgow. Like First here, DublinBus are unanimously shite, but the Luas is genuinely a great piece of transport that's only managed to get better since the Cross City connected the Red and Green lines. It's also not a massively, massively unlikely project unlike the East End subway. Would love that too, but the issues that would arise during the construction make it probably unfeasible. by Axelmanana (Thu 10th Oct 2019 7:13pm)
  • Uh, clearly Biscoff is the king of biscuits. Only biscuits I don't keep in the flat, because I'm eating the entire fucking thing in one go if I do. by Axelmanana (Mon 14th Oct 2019 1:52am)
  • If you're wanting an always fun night, jump into the Park Bar on Argyle Street. The Western Isles lads are always good craic, live Scottish traditional music and it's a great atmosphere. Shuts at 12 as well, so you've got the rest of the night ahead once you're done. by Axelmanana (Tue 15th Oct 2019 7:51pm)
  • Aye, it's a fun place. Never had a bad night in there. Just make sure you don't mix it up with the Park Bar on Paisley Road West. That's uh, a less bright place. by Axelmanana (Tue 15th Oct 2019 8:59pm)
  • Aye, that's something you should be letting the gym staff know about. Was fucking shocked recently when I popped up to Sandyhills Post Office recently, and on the way up saw a cunt with a biker jacket on covered in Nazi regalia all across cleaning his car. That was a level of openness with Nazi shit I really didn't expect. by Axelmanana (Fri 8th Nov 2019 8:48am)
  • Nah, it was a lot of shit. Everything from, but not limited to (because I wasn't sticking around); * The Iron Cross * Totenkopf * SS Bolts * Norse-looking symbols I didn't recognise Probably most damning though was a geometric wheel covering the back that didn't click with me properly at the time. I ended up stumbling across it reading about fucking Wolfenstein '09, that being [The Black Sun](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/b/b5/Schwarze-sonne--black-sun--sonnenrad.png). by Axelmanana (Sun 10th Nov 2019 1:57pm)
  • Just to say lad, the Nordic countries are absolutely not socialist and wouldn't describe themselves as such. They're simply heavily regulated social democracies. Great places to live and work, but it's just very well regulated capitalism. by Axelmanana (Wed 13th Nov 2019 2:54am)
  • I mean lad, do you think it was OK for the Labour government of the time to completely fuck the devolution referendum to ensure the pro-devolution side lost? Shock and horror, there's consequences to completely fucking the partner in a confidence and supply deal. This also completely ignores the fact that there'd already have been a general election only months later, had there not been a no-confidence vote. by Axelmanana (Wed 13th Nov 2019 3:05am)
  • Well, I'll defer to you on that then, lad. I was very much basing my view on how they described themselves on the Danish, Swedish and Finlandic lads I know from university, but you've probably got more experience there. However, just because a country leans pretty heavily towards supporting the welfare state the way it should, as well as proper collective bargaining amongst the workforce, it really shouldn't be described as socialism. All that really does is drive the conversation rightwards. The Nordic model is excellent, and to be honest I think it's the best available way forward for an independent Scotland, but at its core it is just a capitalistic system. A capitalist system that's adapted significantly more measures from socialist theory than many others, but a capitalist system none the less. by Axelmanana (Wed 13th Nov 2019 3:52am)
  • Aye, that's also the stall that has (had?) a concerning amount of Rhodesian military gear. Which, to be honest, is literally any amount of Rhodesian military gear. by Axelmanana (Sun 17th Nov 2019 12:10am)
  • Are the Gyros lads back this year? Don't get me wrong, MacTassos up in the Galleries is great, but the market gyros stand is always a great shout. Plus, the spanakopita is reliably actually for sale, unlike MacTassos. by Axelmanana (Sun 17th Nov 2019 5:14pm)
  • Aye, I've never heard a single good thing about Teleperformance. If you're looking for call-centre work, the three to aim towards are Santander, Tesco Bank and First Direct. It'll still be shite work, but they actually treat their staff as if they're real living and breathing humans. by Axelmanana (Mon 18th Nov 2019 9:54pm)
  • That your Gold Razor barber, aye? Got a fucking shockingly good haircut from your man there for £9. Marwan's can go jump in the fucking Clyde though. Shite haircut, and your main man there is an absolute shite. by Axelmanana (Fri 29th Nov 2019 7:08pm)
  • Got my postal vote out for the SNP. Would usually be running with the Scottish Greens, but we've not got a candidate for them this year, plus David Linden has actually been a really good MP the last couple of years. Any query or question I've thrown out to him over the past couple of years, I've gotten a response within 2 days max. Genuinely nice guy when I met him as well, so it's not a difficult choice. by Axelmanana (Fri 29th Nov 2019 7:14pm)
  • Exactly. I can't imagine looking at a party helmed by Boris fucking Johnson, a man who's been fired multiple times for being a lying geebag, and think "Aye, he seems like a man I can trust in to fulfill everything he says!". Never mind the fact that MI5 felt they couldn't trust him with intelligence whilst he was the fucking Foreign Secretary. by Axelmanana (Wed 11th Dec 2019 9:44pm)
  • Parkhead, albeit by all account significantly better than it used to be, is still a pretty deprived area. I haven't heard much about burglaries in a while, but I know it used to be not amazing for it. If you're any sort of worried about it, 5 minutes up the road on the bus will get you a flat in Tollcross as well. Area's been fine all the time I've been living here, and the flats aren't expensive either. Access to the Forge is easy, Tollcross Park is lovely, 3 buses that'll take you into town plus a train station that's a 15 minute walk away, as well as a pretty good LIDL in the area. by Axelmanana (Thu 12th Dec 2019 7:57am)
  • Not even just that, but the girl that unseated her is quite literally a personal friend of Sturgeon. Imagine being called a psychopath for celebrating your friend unseating the leader of a major UK party unexpectedly. Ask my arse, psychopathic reaction. by Axelmanana (Sat 14th Dec 2019 2:32pm)
  • Just a quick warning, but I'm fairly certain all Gett does is 'get' you a regular taxi tbh. If you're wanting to get around cheaply outside of Uber, download the Hampden Cabs and Network apps to your phone as well. The bigger local private hire companies have pretty alright apps in an Uber 'follow your driver on GPS' way! by Axelmanana (Sun 29th Dec 2019 11:23pm)
  • Wait, hang on. Are they saying they're not coming back to Glasgow because it's so dead on New Year's Day, or they're not coming back to Glasgow *for Hogmanay* because it's so dead on New Year's Day? Because I'm confused by both options. by Axelmanana (Thu 2nd Jan 2020 1:02am)
  • Aye, it's the only stop I think I haven't hit in the city centre entirely because I can't be fucked detouring down that street. by Axelmanana (Fri 10th Jan 2020 7:38am)
  • Imagine having grown up to become you by Axelmanana (Mon 13th Jan 2020 9:24am)
  • If you have a look at the Glasgow Bartenders Club - Recruitment on Facebook, they've usually got a bollix ton of jobs going at any moment. If you can get yourself some bar experience (or successfully blag that you have bar experience), you're pretty golden for part-time bar work. Otherwise, there's usually a lot of KP jobs going on there, so you've got a wide range. by Axelmanana (Mon 13th Jan 2020 4:19pm)
  • Yeah, Dub is getting fucking ridiculous now. Couple of lads I know are living up Glasnevin way in an absolute shite of a flat for just under €1600, only because they're wanting the Liffey companies on their CV. If you can manage to pull a full-time bar job here, you'll be fine most places in Glasgow. Saying that, you're best looking for somewhere that pays everyone at least the 21+ minimum wage, because £6.15 is a bollix wage for anyone. Sign up to the Glasgow Bartenders Club - Recruitment on Facebook and have a look through the jobs on there, and it should give you a good idea about the job market! by Axelmanana (Wed 22nd Jan 2020 5:19am)
  • Aye, your man is mostly talking out of his arse. The immigration issues are bollix, and the AirBNB one is *sort of* true, but barely related to a foreign capital issue. The biggest issue with housing in Dublin is the council's absolutely ridiculous building height restrictions, in which you can only build up to a certain height as to *not ruin the skyline*. Now we've the great fun project in turning as much of the Pale into Dublin suburbs. by Axelmanana (Wed 22nd Jan 2020 3:02pm)
  • No spoilers for anyone who's waiting until later to watch it, but what a fucking Royal Rumble lads! Sure, I'll be doing university work essentially entirely on autopilot until I get home to sleep, but that's barely a change from usual. by Axelmanana (Mon 27th Jan 2020 7:33am)
  • Anyone know what happened? That'll be what, the third cafe in the St. Enoch centre to fuck off without any notice? by Axelmanana (Fri 28th Feb 2020 5:58pm)
  • I'm a bit worried, but mostly because we booked a holiday to Italy 4 months ago that we'll probably have to cancel. by Axelmanana (Mon 2nd Mar 2020 1:24pm)
  • Imagine judging people for supporting a cunt who both says, does and vocally appreciates other people doing wildly cunty things. We're obviously the true bigots. by Axelmanana (Tue 3rd Mar 2020 12:43pm)
  • Lol, fuck off dude. The man is widely considered a cunt by the vast majority of the UK, and shockingly that crosses the lines of socialist, social democrat, centrist and centre-right. Considering the sheer amount of fuckery the dude has done and said over his life, both pre and during his presidency, I'm more than comfortable avoiding people who look at him and think 'Yeah, this dude represents me'. Younger lads over here who seem to have a love for the cunt also tend not to be great about my foreign or trans friends, so yeah, still comfy calling them cunts. by Axelmanana (Tue 3rd Mar 2020 3:15pm)
  • If one of the people working there is to be trusted, they've got fucking pallets of stock in the back per day, so it'll probably be restocked tomorrow. Head up to the ALDI on Shettleston Road. They're restricting how much people can buy, so you'll be able to once again shit to your heart's content. by Axelmanana (Sun 15th Mar 2020 3:29pm)
  • Jesus, fucks sakes. For me, I was just behind a lady at the tills where she was talking to the lady manning the tills. Both were chatting about the shops taking in way more than usual, and that there were 'pallets in the back' filled and ready. Granted, this was at half 8 before shutting, so maybe it was just the stock delivered for the morning or something. Either that, or they were just chatting shite to pass the time. by Axelmanana (Mon 16th Mar 2020 9:14pm)
  • Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime is good craic for 4 people! Also, if you're wanting something for yourself, Golf Story on the Switch is legit really fun. I could give a fuck about golf, but it's a good little game. by Axelmanana (Tue 24th Mar 2020 9:25am)
  • Not gonna lie, the vast majority of my podcasts revolve around the Giant Bomb lads, but a good couple I'd recommend are 'Brad and Will Make a Tech Pod' and 'Podiots'. The former is Tested's Will Smith and Giant Bomb's Brad Shoemaker discussing the tech that they grew up with, and the advancements being made today. Very conversational, and Brad and Will are just real damn easy to listen to. Podiots is three of the old WhatCulture lads (Ben, Peter and Michael) each bringing along a ridiculous news story/thing from the internet and having a ridiculous time with it. Heavy on the nostalgia for late 90's/early 00's British kids TV. Honestly, it's a good percentage of what's keeping me on the lighter side right now. Great listen, if it sounds like your cup of tea. by Axelmanana (Tue 24th Mar 2020 9:48am)
  • If you'd want, throw me a message and I can let you know about the area. I've been living here a fair few years, so I can advise on the bit of Tollcross the flat's on if you're wanting. by Axelmanana (Fri 3rd Apr 2020 12:42pm)
  • Fucking hell. I'll commend you for trying, but that's like trying to shovel snow while Jack Frost is beating you to death with a hammer. by Axelmanana (Wed 8th Apr 2020 9:15pm)
  • Glasgow University is ranked higher than Oxford for Common Law. by Axelmanana (Fri 1st May 2020 9:01pm)
  • It's very possibly the router itself, tbh. We finally switched providers, and given I'm too lazy and cheap to buy an actual quality router, I was having to reboot the Sky router once every day/couple of days. by Axelmanana (Sat 9th May 2020 5:17am)
  • Before I head to bed at this very healthy time, I'd like to give a shout-out to whoever's living their best '05 life with their expensive numberplate, sparkly-black Lamborghini. That's a lot of cash to recreate their Need for Speed: Underground 2 dreams. And I mean that literally, because there was some shite street race happening around one of the east-end industrial estates a couple nights back. Made for a fucking bizarre walk. by Axelmanana (Sat 9th May 2020 6:35am)
  • Not even just Piers. He pissed off the This Morning, the most lightweight morning show of them all. Don't worry though, lads. All part of Boris's 64DD Pachinko plan, and not at all a complete carcrash whatsoever. by Axelmanana (Mon 11th May 2020 7:35pm)
  • Yakuza 0 is savage craic. It's the best place to start in the series, plus it should last you a fair while. Should be free on Game Pass now as well. by Axelmanana (Tue 12th May 2020 2:13pm)
  • The real answer to the question isn't Partick Thistle. It's Wick Academy or Ross County. Saying Partick Thistle means you'll possibly get a really pushy gobshite going "aye, but what team do you really support?". Wick Academy/Ross County marks you as a 'boring teuchter', and they'll usually fuck off. With my accent, Bray Wanderers works as well. Mostly because their knowledge of Irish towns on average ends where the nice tarmac begins. by Axelmanana (Wed 20th May 2020 2:00pm)
  • Any of you lads know where I could print off a couple of pages while most places are shuttered? Need to sign and send off a form pretty quick-smart like. by Axelmanana (Sat 23rd May 2020 7:48am)
  • I wish, but thanks though. They're requiring a signed, physical copy sent back to them. Seems backwards to me, especially considering the whole situation we're in. by Axelmanana (Sat 23rd May 2020 1:36pm)
  • It's an absolute pile of steaming fuck that they're still doing it. I could understand it, say, 15 years ago where their knowledge of the whole thing began and ended at the Dukes of Hazzard. They're literally carrying a device that allows them access to an ever expanding encyclopedia 16 hours of the day now. No excuse. Maybe, just once, they could keep on cruising the information superhighway instead of immediately taking the turn-off onto the Wankbahn. by Axelmanana (Sat 6th Jun 2020 1:10am)
  • Haha fuck, I wonder if that's the same cunt who I saw finishing up a barely readable '5G RUINS YOUR MIND' over by Speirs Wharf a while back. Soon as he fucked off, I reported it on the council app and it was gone the next day lol. by Axelmanana (Thu 11th Jun 2020 4:11pm)
  • I dunno. I've drank up in Tollcross Park a few times, and the police couldn't have given less of a shit. by Axelmanana (Mon 15th Jun 2020 6:45pm)
  • From Humza on Twitter: [Clearly situation is developing and afraid suspect further arrests will be made but on latest breifing majority of arrests made are from those claiming to be loyalists. As I have said, Police will take appropriate action against those who are engaged in public disorder.](https://twitter.com/HumzaYousaf/status/1273317129555775489) by Axelmanana (Wed 17th Jun 2020 7:22pm)
  • In fairness, I think the NDL are a different band of fucks. They seem more like your regular loyalist cunts. The SDL, when they were here last, seemed to be mostly EDL arseholes who'd come up from the North of England. by Axelmanana (Wed 17th Jun 2020 10:36pm)
  • Right, so from what I gather on the ExposeWrestling account, people shouldn't trust what it gave out. The list it gave out was fake, and was called out for being so by a fair few of the girls leading the charge. No-one knows who was running the account, and whoever was behind it did a lot of damage to those actually hurt. Fuck them. by Axelmanana (Sat 20th Jun 2020 4:05am)
  • Yeah, trusting the girls and the lads giving their stories is the way to go. I know a fair few of the girls were open to speaking on behalf of victims, which immediately helps to put credibility behind the claims. It's hard, because I've had a few friends in the business speak out about their abuse, both with and without naming names. Once that list came out, followed by ExposeWrestling nuking their account, they had the dregs of Twitter swarm them. And fuck, some of the bile send out just reminds you how awful people can be. I can somewhat understand the idea behind the account. In theory, giving victims a truly anonymous place to feel safe in naming their abusers isn't a bad one. However, whatever agenda the person behind it had, as well as the recklessness with which they operated the account, further hurt victims whom were already in a very fragile place. I've probably not come across as very objective or in a clear train of thought, and I know that. I'm truly fucking angry because I've got friends who've now been attacked even further because of the doubt that account created. by Axelmanana (Sat 20th Jun 2020 3:18pm)
  • My sole contribution is that they need to figure out how to make walking past Old Wynd less fucking awful. If you successfully weaponised the piss smell there, future generations would speak of you in the same breath as Fritz Haber when talking about the worst contributions to war. by Axelmanana (Wed 24th Jun 2020 8:44am)
  • Sadly, I don't drive. I'm also cheap enough to keep a fridge in my living room until the council will take it away for free. Worst comes to worst, I've got a new, very ugly cabinet for a couple of weeks. by Axelmanana (Fri 3rd Jul 2020 8:34am)
  • Shit. I can't roll cigarettes. by Axelmanana (Fri 3rd Jul 2020 4:58pm)
  • tbh, I had a bit of a disappointing cut from there the last time I went. I've been getting better cuts from where a few of the staff fucked off to, Badguy Barbers on Alexandra Parade, the last few times. by Axelmanana (Thu 16th Jul 2020 11:32am)
  • No probs, happy to help! It's probably the same person that left that I preferred getting my hair cut from as well tbh. The folk over at Badguy are good craic like, so hope your son likes the place! by Axelmanana (Thu 16th Jul 2020 11:42am)
  • If you're set on having a Plusnet/BT one, I've got an unused/unopened Plusnet Hub One in my flat that you can have for £15. Otherwise, go with WG47's plan and pick up one from Priceless. by Axelmanana (Sun 2nd Aug 2020 6:08pm)
  • I think GCC are as shit as anyone, but this seems more an issue with First deciding against selling off their UK bus services. Taking on First would be an absolutely gargantuan task, especially with the black hole in GCC's finances right now. I think we've got to hope that the pandemic smashing their revenue gets them to go back on that decision, because if GCC started a competitor and failed, the dream of a locally-owned bus service would probably be dead for a long time. by Axelmanana (Fri 7th Aug 2020 11:18am)
  • Do these guys intentionally name all of their companies as if they're doing some worldbuilding for a cyberpunk tabletop RPG? by Axelmanana (Sat 8th Aug 2020 1:01pm)
  • If you can drag yourself slightly north, Seawoo has a butcher inside that has a pretty good selection of offal and bones. by Axelmanana (Wed 12th Aug 2020 7:05pm)
  • I don't think so. I was in there not that long ago and picked up some pork tongue and heart. Granted, time has lost all meaning so that could be anywhere between yesterday and months ago. by Axelmanana (Wed 12th Aug 2020 10:38pm)
  • Patrick Harvie would be a good shout for a Regional MSP to contact. I'm biased as a member of the Scottish Greens, but I've recommended a few folk contact him over tenant's rights/AirBNB stuff and he's been able to get shit done for them pretty quickly and effectively. by Axelmanana (Mon 17th Aug 2020 3:23pm)
  • 100 Supermarket over by the Trongate is a good shout to check. Lims over on Cambridge Street and OAKA Supercity on George Street are usually well stocked as well! by Axelmanana (Wed 26th Aug 2020 1:50pm)
  • Wasn't just the west coast. They were setting them up north as well, around Inverness and the like. 100% guarantee your man behind the Flat Earth shop up there had a hand in it. by Axelmanana (Sun 30th Aug 2020 1:44am)
  • Far as I know, Tesco binned their Irish food section over here. Fucked my source of Club Rock Shandy completely like. by Axelmanana (Mon 31st Aug 2020 2:13pm)
  • Definitely resting on it's laurels. Everyone I know who's been in over the last 10-ish or so years has come out anywhere from fairly to very disappointed. Hopefully whoever ends up buying it puts some effort into making the place live up to it's historical reputation. by Axelmanana (Fri 11th Sep 2020 8:02pm)
  • I'd honestly disagree with the suggestion of The Scotsman tbh. A while back I'd have agreed that, even despite the obvious Pro-Union and Conservative slant, it was still broadly alright. The last few years have been rough though, and it's functionally regressed into a deeply slanted and rarely Conservative/Union critical paper, even where it's deserved. Martyn McLaughlin has been the single ray of light for it for a while. The Times' Scotland Edition is less focused on here, but that and The Herald are a fairly good combination to cover the bases. by Axelmanana (Tue 6th Oct 2020 1:53pm)
  • Yeah, it's some Polish far-right shite that I've seen getting posted around the city. There've been a few posted up nearish Parkhead as well. by Axelmanana (Sun 18th Oct 2020 10:23pm)
  • Eh, I had a check of that earlier and Stop Bzdurom just came up with a radical queer and feminist collective. It doesn't show up well on this picture, but it's actually Stop (Bzdurom)². Basically looks like it's trying to operate as the opposite, at a guess. by Axelmanana (Sun 18th Oct 2020 10:44pm)
  • Definitely. I'd almost guarantee this is some garbage chucked up by a RN-supporting geebag. It's got all the hallmarks of their special brand of shite, even more so than PiS's own. by Axelmanana (Mon 19th Oct 2020 2:08pm)
  • Like a bastard, I decided to go for a run early in the morning once I'd noticed the rain had started to slow. Still rained my entire run. Not only has it been dry I ever since I got back, but because of my timing I missed Hulk Hogan's magnum opus, [Santa With Muscles](https://i.ytimg.com/vi/M6m4QZ9njhE/maxresdefault.jpg), playing on TV this morning. How will I ever live with myself, brother. by Axelmanana (Mon 2nd Nov 2020 9:03am)
  • You'll only stay up for a few hours to watch it. You'll go to bed and see what it's like in the morning. Ah sure, the caffeine won't affect your sleep or anything. Fuck you, me. You knew those weren't true. by Axelmanana (Wed 4th Nov 2020 6:44am)
  • Report it via the GCC app. Should be gone within the day. by Axelmanana (Thu 5th Nov 2020 6:37am)
  • Dell Inspiron 7577 by Axelmanana (Fri 13th Nov 2020 3:40pm)
  • Ah, thanks for the recommendation but without a car, I'm a bit stuck to the 'where can I get a return train ticket for less that £3' radius. I'll keep them in mind if I ever end up nearer that way though! by Axelmanana (Fri 13th Nov 2020 8:18pm)
  • [Maybe a bit on the pricier side, but Loch Ness Leather up Inverness way make some really nice bags.](https://www.lochnessleather.co.uk/collections/handbags) Caught a sight of them up north last time I was up visiting family and they seemed really well made. by Axelmanana (Sat 14th Nov 2020 6:00pm)
  • I'll second this. John Mason is an absolute geebag, but him and his office are shockingly efficient at getting things done. I imagine that his staff have been forged in the fires of 'desperately scrambling to fix things after John Mason has said another stupid thing'. by Axelmanana (Sun 15th Nov 2020 2:11pm)
  • A bit shite in this case, but recall petitions can only happen if she's: * Jailed for less than a year * She's removed from the House of Commons for 10 sitting days * She's fucked her expenses I actually reckon she'll try to sit it out if she's not getting sentenced. She'll be hitting around retirement age at the end of the parliamentary session, so she could finish up and fuck off somewhere else to live. by Axelmanana (Tue 24th Nov 2020 3:19pm)
  • During the update a while back, she actually mentioned that was one of her hopes. I think Lanarkshire or Renfrewshire are still pretty stubborn with their cases though, so I think it's more likely we drop to Tier 3 just because of the proximity. by Axelmanana (Thu 3rd Dec 2020 4:12pm)
  • They've been very *meh* for a while now. I don't know anyone who's been in there in the last 5-ish years who hasn't come out disappointed. by Axelmanana (Sat 5th Dec 2020 4:26pm)
  • I mean, Buzzfeed's won multiple journalism awards and are Pulitzer Prize finalists. Just happens to be that they fund their journalism with shite. by Axelmanana (Tue 8th Dec 2020 12:44pm)
  • Sadly they've torn down about half of the old Winter Garden now. All that's left is the conservatory bit with all the overgrown plants. Some lovely parts where you can completely forget you're in a city though. by Axelmanana (Fri 11th Dec 2020 5:34pm)
  • Oh lmao, I thought I'd written Tollcross in there. Aye, the latter. Bit sad, given that's clearly where large amount of the foxes decided to live. by Axelmanana (Fri 11th Dec 2020 5:53pm)
  • I know. Like christ, I get people are pissed but they've just entered a fucking feedback loop where they're just getting their news from each other rather than actual news sources. Sturgeon was literally on TV earlier saying that were it not for this strain, things would have continued as normal. by Axelmanana (Sat 19th Dec 2020 9:19pm)
  • Dad cooked and brought a big fuck-off turkey to the house for Christmas and took bollix all of it home with them. I have had turkey in every single meal for the last 3 days, and I've only just finished the first breast. There's still a leg, a wing and another half breast sitting in my fridge. I'm tempted to put them below my pillow before I go to sleep just to see if the Tooth Fairy'll fucking take some. by Axelmanana (Mon 28th Dec 2020 2:15pm)
  • Nah, it's on the Android version as well. Had to use it myself before. by Axelmanana (Sat 16th Jan 2021 6:55pm)
  • In all honesty, I've not had any trouble with the council getting graffiti removed the last few years. It's usually gone within a couple of days max of reporting it on the app. It's taken a bit of a hit with the pandemic like. by Axelmanana (Sun 17th Jan 2021 11:40am)
  • [Basically how it should look](https://i.imgur.com/1p5CSSg.png) by Axelmanana (Fri 29th Jan 2021 12:48am)
  • Around the Tollcross Park area is pretty solid. You'll have pretty solid transport links into the centre with the buses, plus you've got Carntyne Station a max 15 minute walk away. by Axelmanana (Wed 12th May 2021 12:50pm)
  • The Gelatelli Crisp N Cake yokes at LIDL are about the closest I've found here (and even they're not *that* close), but otherwise it's been a bit bare on the ground. by Axelmanana (Tue 25th May 2021 2:02pm)
  • [Looks like a couple of the statues in George Square got fucked tooand'll need to be repaired as well.](https://twitter.com/thisisgoradio/status/1397154242075447297?s=19) by Axelmanana (Tue 25th May 2021 2:04pm)
  • It's not really been a problem before this either. Been listening into FMQ's today, and in 2019 out of 11,000 appeals, only 2 were downgraded. 2018 it was 7. Yeah, it's going to incredibly suck to be one of those few students to get downgraded, but calling it a 'perverse gamble' is **a lot**. I'm willing to be convinced it'll be an issue in the *very* different situation that we've got now, in fairness. by Axelmanana (Thu 3rd Jun 2021 12:43pm)
  • They're gonna modernise and become a Sugababes store. by Axelmanana (Thu 19th Aug 2021 3:00pm)
  • It's what they do in Aberdeen every so often. I've seen the cunts knock down old ladies and steal their food though, so frankly the effect seems negligible. by Axelmanana (Fri 27th Aug 2021 5:53pm)
  • Heads up, but the two O'Neill's now are the Union Street and Merchant City ones. O'Neill's on Sauchiehall has been shut for a good couple of years now like. by Axelmanana (Thu 9th Sep 2021 8:22pm)
  • The glass conservatory is (apparently) actually getting sorted out while the main building is getting turned into a nursery. Honestly surprised anything is getting done with it at all, given they spent bollix tons getting it fixed the first time only for it to get levelled by another storm a few years later. by Axelmanana (Thu 4th Nov 2021 1:11pm)
  • Yeah, once you get your local rep involved, things usually start getting real quick (some exceptions apply). John Mason, for example, might be one of the biggest arseholes in politics. Fuck me though, anything that gets chucked through his office seems to get a prompt response. I have literally been emailed back by him and had shit sorted at 11pm before. Still want him to fuck off though like. by Axelmanana (Thu 18th Nov 2021 1:03pm)
  • Your man there is right. The usual answer is Virgin and that's who we're with. Internet is fast and we've had no problems, but I'll make you aware that they're pretty renowned for having dogshit customer service. Luckily not had to deal with that side myself yet, but it's something to consider. by Axelmanana (Thu 21st Apr 2022 9:28am)
  • Matthews has probably become the best shout for them in the city. Really sucks that the old family couldn't turn Seawoo back around after it was almost driven into the floor like. by Axelmanana (Sun 14th Aug 2022 10:52pm)
  • Yeah, my ex's staffie was the absolute biggest sucker for getting pet. If you were in a room of people and stopped petting her, she'd walk over to someone else that'd pet her and grin smugly right at you while it happened. Absolutely adored her. Think her only ever "kill" was a squirrel that was about 100 years old, and she'd regularly run and get scared of slightly large flies. by Axelmanana (Thu 13th Apr 2023 10:09pm)
  • Hang on, is this the same Craig Murray as the absolute mentalist ALBA-adjacent Craig Murray? by Axelmanana (Thu 8th Jun 2023 3:24pm)
  • Fucks sakes, it didn't even occur to me that they wouldn't just be like chickens and dumping them year round. Guess I'll just be making a 28 chicken egg omelette instead. by Axelmanana (Sun 30th Jul 2023 7:50pm)
  • I personally don't think you can beat watching it in 183 parts on TikTok with some sick music behind every scene. by Axelmanana (Thu 3rd Aug 2023 12:17am)
  • Not only just that, but the only other real choice for a council leadership is Glasgow Labour. Not only that, but Glasgow Labour mostly run by the same cunts who were fucking the city for years prior. [Christ, the current leader is a multi-property landlord who almost certainly used the Commonwealth Games and his influence in the council to enrich his family and friends.](https://athousandflowers.net/2020/02/09/commonwealth-shame-revisited/) by Axelmanana (Wed 27th Sep 2023 11:55am)
