  • Easy enough to make yourself. Pretty much all the supermarkets sell a decent sized pack for under £2 If you want a good full proof recipe then Just google “chef johns honey/sriracha wings”, should show up on his food wishes page. • See yesterday I was walking into the Aldi at Auldhouse retail park and a women drove up in her range rover, parked right outside up next to the bollards, stuck the hazards on, flung some sunglasses on and then proceeded to go in and shop for 20 minutes with no mask, no a fucking care in the world so it made me just think that that's what were up against with some people. Just utter detestable selfish cunts. by spalleylockett (Thu 24th Sep 2020 1:34pm)
  • Even if yer starving its still no an excuse to be a cunt and steal another mans dinner. You'd think the driver would at least just ask for a surname to check its the right person but they probably don't give a fuck either considering how busy most of them are. • Plenty of train stations and its 5 mins into central station. You could also hire a nextbike and cycle into the city from shawlands along pollokshaws road/eglington st (impossible to get lost) and will take about 20mins. Its not as far out as you may think. Shawlands/Southside has some great cafes, pubs & parks. Glad I live not that far away from it all. by spalleylockett (Wed 28th Oct 2020 12:30pm)

  • Sorry to hear you have dealt with similar in the past but you were also a responsible home owner who got the problem rectified. The original ceiling is a fucking mess which is why I think the previous owner of our flat had the fake one put in about 2-3 ft down instead of just getting it fixed. I'm quite happy to cut a huge hole in my fake ceiling and rip down the old at the wet area just to see where the issue is coming from and any other surprises if we don't get a result from the plumber that she has told me is coming today. by spalleylockett (Sun 27th Dec 2020 9:39am)
  • I understand they aren’t liable for the damage and that’s fine as I will repair it myself I just want the water to stop coming down. by spalleylockett (Sun 27th Dec 2020 10:16am)
  • Factor is the might H&P! We called them last night and offices were shut so phoned the emergency number and that guy came out at 10pm He had a good look and all he did was say it was not a common usage pipe causing the leak and therefore his job was done but he thought it was coming from her flat. Will phone my insurance again and let them know what’s happening. Thanks for everyone’s input though. The joys of being a homeowner by spalleylockett (Sun 27th Dec 2020 10:27am)

  • Are you sitting in your flat in complete silence? , I'm not trying to be cheeky but surely with any sort of ambient noise going on it would be enough do drown out the noise of darts? Perhaps it's not darts but an archery target and they are using a crossbow to fire arrows into it? I also live in a tenement flat on the ground floor and all our neighbors make noise but unless its loud music blasting into the early hours I guess I've just tuned out to everything else. by spalleylockett (Sun 10th Jan 2021 3:03pm)
  • If you can’t get anywhere with the plumber then your insurance might cover the fixing and replacement part but they won’t cover you for the damage they cause to the ceiling whilst trying to fix it. by spalleylockett (Mon 11th Jan 2021 1:08pm)

But seriously I don't know what you could do, perhaps find the landlord and have a word with him? Obviously you could go and speak to them yourself but 9/10 times that will most likely just make it worse. by spalleylockett (Sat 6th Mar 2021 8:56am)

  • I live just up the road from here and Its mad to see how much development there has been with the flats/houses they are putting up. I think its a great wee area. Its like close enough to walk into Shawlands and next to Pollok Park but also handier and closer to just head along Barrhead RD and then you are away to Silverburn and onto the motorway. by spalleylockett (Sat 1st May 2021 3:58pm)
  • Please excuse my ignorance but as someone who hasn't been on a bike since they pedaled around their housing scheme when they were 8yrs old can someone explain 2021 basic cycling etiquette to me? I was walking down Barrhead Rd on Tuesday and keeping as close to inside as possible for potentially folk flying along on bikes but just past the entrance to Cowglen golf club a lot of the hedges stick really far out so you have to kinda step out sometimes to get past them and not have thorns shred your eyelids but in doing so a guy on his bike nearly clipped me and he starts swinging his arms about and pointing as if its me that's in his way. He may of had a bell but I had my headphones in but I felt like it was me getting in the way and now I cant walk that long stretch of road listening to music because I cant hear cyclists coming which is a bit shite. Should they have been using the road? its 2 lanes and plenty wide considering its a B road by spalleylockett (Thu 6th May 2021 7:06am)
  • You are right actually it’s got that narrow strip at the edge of the pavement. Well they weren’t on that but in fairness it is narrow AF by spalleylockett (Thu 6th May 2021 11:00am)

  • Maybe about the Boiler if you haven't already? Ask the age of it and when it was last serviced. Hopefully they have some sort of home care cover on it and you can continue that. When we moved into our flat it started failing and we couldn't get any type of home care for it so we had to spend a few grand and get a new one so just watch out for that. by spalleylockett (Mon 10th May 2021 12:03pm)
  • Thanks for this. Was afraid this would be the case. I really just grudge giving them anymore fucking money than I really have to you know? :) by spalleylockett (Mon 10th May 2021 12:15pm)
  • Yeah I can understand that but its the being told you have to plump up £350 even if you feel its unnecessary and also voted against it. Just seems a bit shite that's all. by spalleylockett (Mon 10th May 2021 1:28pm)
  • I lived in Eyemouth on the east coast until I was 17 then moved to Glasgow and have been here for nearly 20 years now and I never wanted to loose my accent but funnily enough I've never been slagged for it. It's pretty much all but vanished now but I went down to Eyemouth at the weekend for first time in a long long time and got slagged from some old friends as soon as I opened my mouth and said Hello. by spalleylockett (Tue 11th May 2021 11:24am)

  • So we went through the same issue on boxing day and had water coming through our lights in the bathroom from a burst pipe above and we have it finally resolved. You will have to pay the excess if you are claiming, you could ask them to pay it but its probably no worth the hassle and it cant be £3K someone is at it I think We have our own buildings insurance and then the building is insured through Hacking & Patterson. Now I cant really remember why we ended up claiming through H&P (would need to ask the wife) but we did and even though I think H&P are an absolute shower of shites we only paid £250 excess and we got our old ceiling ripped down, replaced, new lights, extractor and all painted even if it took 4 months after the fact. Hope you can go back to the Factor and get this sorted out. by spalleylockett (Sat 15th May 2021 3:12pm)

  • I like the modern development mixed with the old Tenement buildings at the side and over the road. End of the day its impossible to please everyone but the the arcade is a dump and not a worthwhile shop amongst it (gym is popular though) so any development is welcomed in my book. The loyal bams of Kilmarnock Rd will need to find a new place to hing about if/when this goes ahead. by spalleylockett (Sat 12th Jun 2021 11:17am)

  • Blackpool is your best bet. Not much really going on in the town but the pleasure beach is brilliant. Don’t bother trying to get to Alton Towers by public transport as it’s just a pain in the arse if you aren’t driving even if it’s arguably a better park. Technically getting to Thorpe is super easy if you fly from Heathrow as it’s extremely close and if you are staying on site the accommodation at TP is good and extremely good value deals can be had including breakfast and admission for 2 days. by spalleylockett (Wed 23rd Jun 2021 4:48am)

  • I know Irvine is hardly scenic but Vanilla Joes has really good ice cream and you could take it out and walk down the harbor and to the beach or maybe go to the maritime museum which is all walking distance from Vanilla Joes Or if you are happy to just drive to get Ice Cream then go to The Forum in Killie. I would recommend the raspberry snowball sundae. Even their regular vanilla ice cream is unreal, tastes like rice pudding almost. by spalleylockett (Thu 19th May 2022 1:11pm)

  • isense is your regular movie watching experience in the regular movie aspect ratio but on a nice big screen with the best picture quality and Dolby Atmos sound. Imax is great but not everything is available in Imax. They should only be showing films shot for Imax so that's a limited amount but most big blockbusters 4DX is more of a gimmick I feel, and its about your chair moving and getting water splashed at you or wind blown etc. fun for 10mins then you wish it to stop Would go for Isense personally, especially if you get the nice reclining seats at an Odeon Luxe by spalleylockett (Tue 7th Jun 2022 1:36pm)

  • As a dog owner (shout out to Huxley) I think on a whole there is too many people about with no a care for any other cunt or a clue in how to control their pups. Dogs bombing it up to me and my dog and no owner in site then when you eventually see them and they will say "he's fine". I love my dog and think he is the bees knees but dogs are unpredictable (no matter how well trained) at times and for that reason I don't take him off the lead unless its in a gated off area where he is on his own or in the middle of literal fucking nowhere with very little people just incase he gets overly friendly to someone. by spalleylockett (Tue 21st Jun 2022 1:54pm)

Any justice these folk will end up getting done or round a lamppost by spalleylockett (Tue 2nd Aug 2022 12:48pm)
  • Had this same issue pal. Our old neighbour used to think it was hers but it was in everyone’s title deeds. All the other owners just let them have it but we needed that space and after many unsuccessful attempts to broach it I just got bolt cutters from work and snapped it one day and put a new padlock on it and handed them in a key. They never spoke to us again but at least I had somewhere to store my bike and Christmas tree decs by spalleylockett (Tue 2nd Aug 2022 9:22pm)
  • There was some cunt that had this shitty falling to bits 4X4 parked outside our flat for months with him driving it the odd time but mostly just sat there gathering all the shite from the trees on top of it and it taking up a valuable parking spot one day he came rocketing into our wee cul-de-sac blaring some Neal Diamond and nearly knocked me and my dog down so I decided to check it on the DVLA website and it turned out it wasn't taxed and had no MOT (probably no insured either) so reported it online on the Monday and by the Friday it was clamped and then about 2 weeks later of it just sitting with a clamp they came with low loader and took it away. Couldn't give a fuck if folk think I'm for doing anything like that, more than happy to treat pricks how they deserve. by spalleylockett (Wed 3rd Aug 2022 10:08am)

  • Most pubs in the west end by spalleylockett (Fri 16th Sep 2022 3:22pm)
  • Nothing more annoying than seeing a bin that's clearly bursting full and cunts playing jenga with chippy trays and coffee cups on the top of it (for it to then fall over and make even more mess) instead of looking for another bin or just taking it home. I defo see some businesses in the southside out sweeping in the morning. be good for the council to come down early doors say like once a week and power wash the pavements along busy streets that are prone to mess , really makes a massive difference if they do it regularly. by spalleylockett (Wed 21st Sep 2022 9:29am)

  • Glad you enjoyed it but I left there really, really disappointed tbh The starters and sides were ace but my actual steak which cost the good part of £80 was honestly just so gristly and fatty! like nothing better than what you would get at any decent restaurant I was honestly fucking beelin! because of how much I was looking forward to it and all the good things I had heard. Maybe it was just an off, albeit expensive night out for me in there. by spalleylockett (Sun 30th Oct 2022 3:19pm)

  • Hate to be a downer but probably not very much. Can hope it pops up on gumtree or something but I would doubt the polis will have this as any kind of priority so hopefully you have insurance and can maybe claim a new bike but I guess it depends if it was just left in the close or locked in a cupboard. by spalleylockett (Thu 3rd Nov 2022 5:44pm)

  • Phillies mibee? by spalleylockett (Sat 19th Nov 2022 5:15pm)
  • I get what you mean but I guess I kind of like that. With the exception of a few bams and the odd junkie I think folk in Glasgow and probably most major cities literally don't care who walks by them in the street and they aren't looking for conversation when out running errands or doing some shopping. They just want to get where they are going with the most minimal interaction possible. All though if you really want conversations and interactions/smiles from random people in all matter of places then buy a dog because we get stopped frequently with our spaniel and its always nice. by spalleylockett (Wed 23rd Nov 2022 7:52am)
  • Didn’t bother upgrading my phone this year and saving myself £50 a month. Cutting back on takeaways. Shorter showers and got a broadband deal that’s half of my own one. Defo noticing the difference. by spalleylockett (Wed 23rd Nov 2022 5:50pm)

  • Pre-lockdown it was announced that they were going to open a new Wetherspoons where the Waverley tea rooms were but its still sat empty. I wonder if this is now going ahead and they are closing this one in luie of that or that its really just down to poor trade. No matter the reason its rubbish, I always loved a wee wetherspoons breakfast walking distance from my flat. by spalleylockett (Thu 2nd Feb 2023 12:13pm)

  • Imagine working your arse off to buy a nice house with a driveway in the southside for someone who doesn't want to pay to park to just dump their motor outside so close I cant get my own car out, some sense of privilege. What OP is asking for doesn't really exist so people are just giving alternatives they maybe haven't thought of but it seems no-one can take any advice without it being seen as patronising, like they are too thick to have thought of that themselves. OP I hope you are successful in your quest for free parking close to a southside train station. by spalleylockett (Fri 16th Jun 2023 5:45pm)
