  • Put the mask under the rim of your glasses. The rim holds the mask closer to your face and the hot air then goes away from the glasses. You can have your glasses on as normal. by Sonicthehaggis (Sun 18th Oct 2020 11:02am)
  • I have asthma, I have ADHD, I have SPD which is linked to Aspergers and Autism. As frustrating as it is, it is your job to wear your mask if you are supposed to, not up to you to make someone with medical issues even more anxious than they probably already feel. I’ve not worn my mask twice in the supermarket because I was struggling to breathe. My anxiety was through the roof that someone came and challenged me... which made it worse. Try to just concentrate on what you are doing and not what others are doing, you don’t know if they are being an arse or they have medical issues. by Sonicthehaggis (Sun 18th Oct 2020 11:06am)

  • I don’t know if this is a joke comment or not or trying to imply something sinister. If you don’t want to join, I’d appreciate it if you didn’t comment. Just wondering if anyone wants to go and take photos. by Sonicthehaggis (Tue 21st Sep 2021 11:44am)
  • Ok, I’ll just go on Insta and ask loads of amateur photographers there… oh, that’s right, I have and we have 3 already. Just because YOU think it’s strange, doesn’t mean it is. Again, I’d appreciate if you dont want to come, just stop commenting. Thanks by Sonicthehaggis (Tue 21st Sep 2021 11:49am)
  • You mean like every other type of situation where people decide to meet? I don’t know how you got to the conclusion that people only get robbed because they have met someone online. If I wanted to rob someone… I’d not leave evidence of it online. I apologise, I assumed you were a rational and un mentally challenged person, I seem to have been wrong. I now realise that you crave attention and are fairly irrational. Have a great day. by Sonicthehaggis (Tue 21st Sep 2021 11:56am)
  • My friends aren’t photographers. Shhhhh. Go away and live your life. by Sonicthehaggis (Tue 21st Sep 2021 12:02pm)
  • I literally don’t care what your opinion is. I have 4 people meeting tonight, 3 of which I haven’t met before. 1 I met by chance last week while out taking photos. Again, it’s you that has the issue with 7pm. Do people not get mugged before 7pm? Do people not go on dates after 7pm? It’s not strange to me. Might be strange to you, you aren’t me. Again, your points, although understandable, are totally irrational. I didn’t ask if this was strange or not, I asked a question that some photographers have taken up the option to meet up tonight. Honestly, you really didn’t need to comment with what you did. A yes or a no would suffice. Cheers by Sonicthehaggis (Tue 21st Sep 2021 12:08pm)
  • I’m not looking to learn, specifically. I’m looking for other photographers amateur or otherwise. Would the course I go on need to be before 7pm and have to do a background check on the person(s) there? - that’s how irrational and stupid your comments are. You really don’t understand how to have a conversation, do you. I didn’t ask for your interpretation of the question being asked. by Sonicthehaggis (Tue 21st Sep 2021 12:11pm)
  • Thanks pal. I don’t use Reddit much. I don’t care if it’s a man or women. As long as they are over 18 and want to walk and take photos. The other 3 (now 5 people) hadn’t replied until after o replied. I agree, it’s “fair” to mention it but the reasons are totally irrational. I wouldn’t say I’m I’m being defensive but I suppose I am because I feel I am being attacked. The reason o don’t thinks it’s defensive is because I’m just using rational judgement as it doesn’t matter what time it is people meet. I appreciate your comments, I’ll try and amend it in the future. I’m just pretty direct. by Sonicthehaggis (Tue 21st Sep 2021 12:19pm)
  • As I said before, don’t interpret what I asked. Shhhhh. by Sonicthehaggis (Tue 21st Sep 2021 12:28pm)
  • Thanks Yellowhans. I appreciate the support. I am genuinely just wanting to meet like mind people to take photos and share stories etc. I mean, we could meet in a pub or a police station for all I care and take photos there. Again, I get WHY they have said it but it’s just so stupid to mention it like NO ONE has ever met someone they met off the internet before πŸ˜‚ by Sonicthehaggis (Tue 21st Sep 2021 12:34pm)
  • πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Wow. Some proper nutters here. by Sonicthehaggis (Tue 21st Sep 2021 12:30pm)
  • Cheers Yellowhans. I won’t. If they made points that couldnt be torn apart so easily, I’d listen to them. I defo will. I actually have to cancel the meet with the others because I’m bow shooting a gig tonight πŸ˜‚πŸ™ˆπŸ˜‚πŸ™ˆπŸ˜‚πŸ™ˆ. • Yeah. You got me. I’m a serial killer. Wow. Amazing how you just cracked me like that. by Sonicthehaggis (Tue 21st Sep 2021 12:48pm)
  • Nutters for thinking that people have never (safely) met up on the internet. Spent so much time out of their day trying to discredit someone they know nothing about. My manner, I don’t think is indignant or snarky, it’s just succinct and direct. You are interpreting it as snarky because you are attacking me and think I am attacking you retaliation. In fact, if you read the words, I’m not attacking you (maybe I did eventually actually) but responding to your incorrect summations but have acknowledged why you would ask the question; but to go after it with such vigour is bloody hilarious πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ by Sonicthehaggis (Tue 21st Sep 2021 12:52pm)
  • Not getting defensive πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Read what has been said. I’ve AGREED with you and you still attack with your own opinion which is your opinion, but doesn’t make it correct. Let me break this down for you to see if you can understand why I’m being “defensive”. Have people met up in real life? Yes. So it happens. You are making it strange due to your own perversions by Sonicthehaggis (Tue 21st Sep 2021 1:37pm)
  • I don’t have paid work. Why does everyone make wrong assumptions? by Sonicthehaggis (Tue 21st Sep 2021 1:42pm)
  • Your concerns are irrational. That’s the issue I have. I have actually agreed with you and you still don’t seem content by Sonicthehaggis (Tue 21st Sep 2021 1:48pm)
  • I thought Reddit had an age limit. I can’t see many children wanting to go and do photography either, certainly not with a stranger. by Sonicthehaggis (Tue 21st Sep 2021 1:46pm)
  • I’m sure social media platforms have been used by undesirables to meet people in the past. The point here you have made is fairly legitimate, however, I’m fairly certain that the majority of meets have all been more than pleasant and acceptable, therefor, targeting my comment and interpreting it as some how strange or creepy would be, in the grand scheme of things, more likely incorrect. You don’t know me. The people who agree to join me most likely won’t know me, they are entitled to make that decision on their own, I mean, I won’t know the other people I’m meeting either, maybe I’ll get mugged but you don’t equate for that in your irrational summation of the situation. Tonight there will be millions of people meeting who met online or otherwise and the vast majority will be safe. There will be people who have been living with someone for 5+ years who will be assaulted either physically or mentally, abused or even murdered by them. So, I re-iterate, you’re point(s) are irrational. by Sonicthehaggis (Tue 21st Sep 2021 1:57pm)
  • Just because it has happened plenty of times, doesn’t 1. Mean it will happen this time 2. Mean it will happen all the time I feel perfectly safe to meet up with a stranger, albeit with gps on and telling my family/friends where and what I’m doing. But thank you for your concern. by Sonicthehaggis (Tue 21st Sep 2021 2:07pm)
  • You would do far better in this conversation if you stopped assuming. You are assuming I’m being “cunty”. I am not being cunty, I’m answering questions that are being made about me. The laughing faces are there because I am genuinely astounded at the confrontational aspect of this site. I rarely use it but from what I’ve seen, people ask questions and most of the replys have been civil. I wanted to go to different places in Glasgow to take photos, so I asked this page, which is what I thought it was for. I’m more than happy to accept that it was a wrong assumption to expect it to be civil but that’s on me for assuming. If I wanted my friends help… I would have posted it on Facebook. If I wanted to learn… I would have booked a class. If I wanted to rob someone… I’d be doing it just now when everyone is at work and their homes are empty. As far as I know, the other people are still meeting (who are strangers), I’m not because I got a message about a gig I didn’t know about. Yeah I’m more than happy to meet with others on another day… hey, if it’s on Sunday or Monday… it might even be at 10am (gasp!). Oh Lordy, 10am meeting strangers on a Sunday! That last bit was me being cunty. If you read through the replies with a level and non judgemental view, you will see I’m not being cunty, I’m just being direct. X by Sonicthehaggis (Tue 21st Sep 2021 2:05pm)
  • Spoke to a few friends at the gig last night, they informed me that you are probably an “Incel” (?) and apparently you just attack young females online regardless of what they say because you are probably an overweight virgin sitting in your mums basement. I couldn’t stop laughing, it seems so likely that that is the case now. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ Anyway, thanks to your “shit chat” we all had a good laugh and I got loads of compliments on my dress and even got asked for my number. Incel. πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ that’s funny by Sonicthehaggis (Wed 22nd Sep 2021 7:53am)
  • I’m really not. I forgot I set that up like that to stop being hit on. But sure, again, assumptions, assumptions, assumptions. Look at your attitude! You are so angry and wrong at every point. by Sonicthehaggis (Wed 22nd Sep 2021 10:14am)

  • I think the main issue with dog owners is that they only think ‘my dog is fine’. This is totally the wrong attitude to have. Their thought process should be ‘what if someone else isn’t fine’. They don’t think that people can be allergic, have a phobia, don’t want their clothes dirty. They don’t think that other dogs could be dangerous and even on a lead, could still attack your dog. As a runner and a cyclist, the amount of dog owners that don’t seem to comprehend the danger they are putting their dogs into by not being in a lead is incredible and if I hit a dog (on or off lead), I feel shut because I’ve hit your dog, regardless of how carefully I have tried to be. My dog was always on a lead in public parks and toe paths because that way I could make him as safe as he could be. by Sonicthehaggis (Tue 21st Jun 2022 8:26pm)

  • Lots of good advice in this thread. Just a wee thought though, you said you have no one to speak to but you have a bunch of strangers here trying to help. So although you don’t think there is a way out, just like you didn’t think there was anyone to speak to, there is always a way. Chin up. • Well, some charges make sense as they will give you a high standing charge and a low PPU rate so for storage units or summer homes, they make sense. That’s not what’s happened on my account. It seems criminal that they would just do that to you automatically without informing you. There is a reason to have them but there should be limits imposed or get rid of them and impose a different way of recouping them. by Sonicthehaggis (Tue 9th Aug 2022 3:11pm)

  • I saw the bike being lifted by an officer and it looked like new. I assume that since where it happened, there is a cycle lane for going forward(cycle/bus lane) and lane to the right for going straight on and not in the bike lane to turn right later, the cyclist may have merged and the driver didn’t give way and I think he’s gone under. I just wish drivers would understand the risk they pose to others regardless of who is at fault. A lot of the solutions to a lot of the issues faced by many right now can be answered by cycling. Where did it go wrong? by Sonicthehaggis (Sat 28th Jan 2023 7:24pm)
  • With all due respect, you have put all the blame on the cyclist here without knowing any facts that they were “in the blind spot”. I don’t think you have the right to start asking questions. This could easily have been poor driving, not paying attention, on his phone, reading a newspaper behind the wheel. It could also have been the cyclists fault for not checking over his shoulder or not paying attention. by Sonicthehaggis (Sat 28th Jan 2023 7:26pm)
  • Afraid you don’t know that. I believe the part where it happened it’s a filter lane. The driver could easily have (wrongly) presumed the cyclist is staying in the cycle lane when they want to go right at the next junction that isn’t part of cycle lane. Also, the image of the truck in the photos is in a lane that is coming to an end so they may have been in the wrong. I’m cycling that way in an hour. Happy to report back if it’s open. Not good to assume anything, especially with zero facts and the death of someone so soon. by Sonicthehaggis (Sat 28th Jan 2023 7:31pm)
  • Disagree. Cycled past it 30 mins ago and the cycle lane starts A LOT sooner than I remembered. It starts outside the casino. Again, all speculation because we don’t know what measures they took to move vehicles before cameras appeared by Sonicthehaggis (Sat 28th Jan 2023 9:36pm)
  • Hate to break it to you but I’ve never seen a car in Ted Baker or Argos or Currys or TGI Fridays or The Counting House. Every person I’ve seen in those establishments have been on foot. How people think that no cars means no footfall is beyond me other than them being car centric. Yes public transport is awful and expensive, yes Cycle infrastructure is awful but if you leave the car at home, it all gets better for everyone. by Sonicthehaggis (Thu 9th Feb 2023 11:33pm)
  • Some sort of “strict liability” should be in place like many places in Europe. This means you are fiscally responsible for the person you hit but not criminally, until you can prove it was not your fault. I also think that short term “ban” on driving. Perhaps a month or two from any accident too. This could end up being counter productive as drivers may drive off due to harsher punishments. by Sonicthehaggis (Thu 9th Feb 2023 11:40pm)
  • Did you just cause the OP of being the same as all cyclists while pointing out that they said all drivers are the same? Quite clear from their post if you read it properly that they didn’t say all drivers. You chose to interpret it that way. by Sonicthehaggis (Fri 10th Feb 2023 8:16am)
  • Because they are paying attention to the sequence and not their surroundings. I mean, you literally said the answer in your question. People are in too much of a hurry. If less people used their vehicles, there would be less traffic. by Sonicthehaggis (Fri 10th Feb 2023 8:23am)
  • “Six of your own” have killed people in the last 13 days in Glasgow and that is just car v pedestrian. Not even car vs car. See how stupid and ignorant it is to lump you in with a bunch of drivers who have killed people even though you haven’t? by Sonicthehaggis (Fri 10th Feb 2023 8:26am)
  • “…It’s probably best you don’t drive” - it’s almost like you are getting it! Do everyone a favour, see before you make a statement like “not everyone has a choice”. Stop. Go back, read what you are replying to, then scan the bit where you think the person has said “everyone shouldn’t drive”. When you can’t see that bit because no one said it, it will save you time and looking like an idiot for defending a point that was never said. πŸ‘ by Sonicthehaggis (Fri 10th Feb 2023 8:45am)

  • Never said they teleported there. But they are there and not in their cars. It could be a serious discussion (not argument - which tells people your mindset straight off that you want an argument like there is something to be won). Plenty of park and rides. Drive to somewhere outside the city. Plenty of cycle lanes etc. no one is claiming EVERY driver to stop driving. The fact is people have became reliant on vehicles and are lazy. People tell me everyday they are just too lazy to do it. The people you see cycling, some of them have cars and kids and they make it work and that’s the point. Adults moaning that they don’t have time is like a kid saying a dog ate my homework. by Sonicthehaggis (Fri 10th Feb 2023 9:57am)
  • In fairness, he did check on you a few times. Absolutely awful driving and not excusing it. It doesn’t look like it was just aggressive though. You can see him looking for you and that you are “clear”. Road markings and condition is awful too. Maybe he panicked when he realised it was the wrong lane. Typical commuting experience though that I’m thoroughly tired of. Wish drivers weren’t in such a hurry. by Sonicthehaggis (Fri 10th Feb 2023 4:35pm)

You know you, you know your time restrictions, your diet habits, your motivation. Main thing, take time. It takes time. You can train for the first month however you want, it won’t make a difference until you find something you want to do. Bulking up means excess calories and then decide your training plan. A guy grabbed me and I swept his feet and he started screaming to the copper that I assaulted him. Copper said he touched me first so would need to charge both of us for breach of the peace. Why they can’t just go to a park and stay off the streets is beyond me. At least that way we can avoid it if we want to. by Sonicthehaggis (Sun 2nd Jul 2023 10:47pm)

If you wait until the times get better, you could be 2+ years before you are on the list. If you think you have ADHD, go with it. Say you have adhd and give yourself a break. • It sounds like you have most of the problem here. First off, I don’t know how to “ring a bell aggressively”. It’s a bit of metal with a metal spring. It’s there to send out an audible alert. It doesn’t have settings for “pleasant” ring or “aggressive” ring, so perhaps think about that. Second, you should be more aware of your surroundings. The cyclists seem to be aware of their surroundings by ringing their bell and making you aware of their presence. Third, I’m not defending all cyclists here, there will be some cyclists who are arseholes, just as there are arsehole walkers on canal paths. It’s a shared space, if you don’t like it, do what I do and don’t use that space. by Sonicthehaggis (Thu 31st Aug 2023 9:24am)

There are plenty of expensive ways of getting a poor protein though. Would work out cheaper buying a kilo tub if ON protein and would be a far better protein source by Sonicthehaggis (Sun 15th Oct 2023 6:58pm)
  • In terms of muscle recovery/building it’s not great; which I assume is what this thread is aiming at. I’m not saying it’s bad either but the price you are paying for the items you mentioned compared to the quality of protein AND the bioavailability of it, it’s not great. Just be careful you aren’t buying into the “high” protein marketing. A lot of that protein is probably the same price per serving as a really good whey isolate/concentrate mix and with the benefit of getting far better protein and bioavailability. I’m not saying they are bad or not handy, but, don’t rely on them for your recovery. I used ON whey, ON Casein, SIS rego for recovery and a BCAA drink, normally H&B’s one. Genuinely not dissing it, I’ve just seen a lot of people get caught out with the “high protein” labeling. by Sonicthehaggis (Sun 15th Oct 2023 8:34pm)

  • Bells are useless these days. Almost everyone has headphones in. I’ve sat behind someone for 10 to 20 seconds ringing my bell and nothing. When they turn round and see me, they’ve removed their headphones and say “you should have a bell”. The problem is poor infrastructure. If there were better active travel routes, it would be safer for everyone. Also, there are idiots everywhere, walkers walk on the cycle lane, cyclists ride one the pavements. Drivers park on pavements and speed through red lights etc. If everyone paid more attention to their surroundings and stayed left, for example when on shared paths, it would make everyone’s lives a lot easier but no one wants to. by Sonicthehaggis (Tue 7th Nov 2023 4:43pm)

  • The issue you have here is because you have a car you are focused on that. I think most rational people would understand that if I have offered to buy 5/6 people a warm drink who I don’t know and only occasionally (they aren’t randoms) see in the gym, that the MONEY, is not the part I have problems with. But we aren’t all critical thinkers. πŸ‘ by Sonicthehaggis (Fri 8th Dec 2023 2:03pm)
  • Is it not bad fortune? I go through a fairly ordinary routine everyday. I wake up, I get dressed, I go to the gym, I leave for the train, go through my day and head home. Go to sleep, wake up, and start again. I haven’t lost a headphone in 3 years since I got them. Or a phone, or my keys. Today a fire alarm went off (good fortune?) which meant I had to take all belongings I was holding with me outside, in clothing unsuitable for the weather conditions (good fortune?). I was shaking with the cold as I had no way to heat myself while we were outside (good fortune?). Had to go to the toilet because the usual one I have used without ever losing anything wasn’t available because of the (good fortune?) fire alarm. So, I suppose, what part of my story wasn’t bad fortune or unfortunate, if you will, and what is the difference between today where I lost 1 AirPod compared to every. Other. Day. Where I haven’t lost it. Also, my posts rhetoric isn’t specific to me. At what point would you say someone shouldn’t be charged for losing their stuff since you seem to be saying, that this wasn’t bad fortune. What do you describe as bad fortune worthy enough for this to be harsh? by Sonicthehaggis (Fri 8th Dec 2023 2:11pm)

  • So, I had these thoughts after the fact. I am in total agreement about me not asking them to keep them. I technically have no contract with them so would be an interesting case, I think. However, as far as I’m aware, and I could be totally wrong, but this wasn’t ScotRail that charged me. This is a baggage company that you leave your luggage at. Someone came in as I was paying and said the the BTP had called him and told him they had his laptop. I really wanted to wait about to see what he was charged. I just think it’s both morally and ethically repugnant by Sonicthehaggis (Fri 8th Dec 2023 2:24pm)

What I am willing to divulge is that if anyone has lost anything outside my “work” or someone hands it in, I don’t charge them to get it back… 🀷🏻‍♂️ You are advocating that if you lose anything in a supermarket or cafe or shop, that’s it’s absolutely fine to charge someone to get their own property back. • He was doing his job. You can not like that’s part of his job, just like I don’t, but you don’t get to tell him what his job is and isn’t and bully the person just doing their job because you don’t like it. by Sonicthehaggis (Fri 8th Dec 2023 9:42pm)
  • Safe enough that a lot of people do it. Depending on your bike will be the biggest factor. Does it look expensive? If it’s an entry level bike, I wouldn’t worry too much about it. If it gets stolen, you can pick another one up 2nd/3rd/4th hand for around the £100 mark. by Sonicthehaggis (Sat 9th Dec 2023 5:23pm)
  • Covid test will show that you have a certain strain of covid but might not show another strain so can’t always rule it out. I’ve had two colds/flu in the space of a month. Start of November, woke up with a really sore throat. Following day it was gone but my head and chest filled with mucus etc. bones were sore but not a full on flu but I also felt like I had loads of energy. Went away after a week. Start of December I got the sore throat again for a day and the next day my chest and head filled up again but it took ten days to clear this time. Spoke to a few people who have had the same symptoms a month apart too. I didn’t test positive for covid either times. by Sonicthehaggis (Mon 11th Dec 2023 12:11pm)

  • OP should take into consideration that if they are getting a new job up here, the salary will be lower compared to London. OP, check a London Reddit page for people moving from Glasgow to London and see what their thoughts were. Good luck! by Sonicthehaggis (Tue 12th Dec 2023 8:10am)
  • Ah. Sorry if I stepped on your toes. I maybe didn’t understand it properly. by Sonicthehaggis (Tue 12th Dec 2023 11:48am)
