  • Why does every community Facebook group seemingly always descend into irrelevant right-wing meme posting? People in the one I'm in are currently liking and defending a three-year-old anti-immigrant meme made by a sales company based in Nottinghamshire. • I was going to stop going to cafés before the announcement today as I don't feel safe using them anymore: they're always packed, the tables either aren't cleared and sanitised or not cleaned properly and despite being in this situation for months at this point, people still don't wear masks, fiddle with them before touching everything else, stand way too close to you and/or sit at tables that are clearly blocked off. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Tue 17th Nov 2020 7:50pm)

  • No longer exerting mental energy on those who don't deserve it. Been making an effort over the year to connect with family and friends I haven't seen for years, only to be let down by them or find out about huge life events that have happened via second hand news. • Was listening to BBC Radio Scotland last night while they were hosting Radio 5 Live. The DJ was taking calls from people and a woman called in saying that she hoped this year that people would have freedom of speech, the ability to work and move freely and more people would believe in God. The DJ immediately rebuked her claims that people weren't banned from working and making a living, we were living in a pandemic and restrictions had to be made to limit the spread of Covid-19. She then said people should be free to work and move up and down the country as they wish, to which he responded her freedom to spread Covid-19 did not override his freedom to not catch and die from it. She then complained that only 'honourable people should get honours' i.e. only Christians should get New Years honours. He started laughing and ended the call there. Brilliant stuff. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Fri 1st Jan 2021 11:17am)

  • It was cool seeing the occasional skater, but then every eejit clambered on and ruined it for everyone. Queen's Park has had children falling through the ice into blue algae-infested water. People were sitting on the ice having tea parties. Saw some teenagers in Victoria Park today in the middle of the pond jumping up and down on it trying to crack the ice. It's amazing what lockdown and a bit of frozen water does to people's heads. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Thu 7th Jan 2021 12:57am)

  • The subway system is only good if you live in the tiny area it services and bus and train systems are extremely fragmented. Try getting from the north to the south of the city on a train that doesn't require at least one change on a train. My mum lives in an area where the 4 bus used to go from the west end to turn. 20 minute bus ride to town. Then First canceled the route with no warning or reason. So now to complete the same trip, she needs to walk 20 minutes to the next nearest bus stop or 2- to the train station, effectively doubling her journey time. This removal of a single bus line completely changed her ability to get around on public transport. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Sun 10th Jan 2021 11:24pm)

Apart from a letter from Boris, a couple of leaflets from the Scottish government and a text from my GP saying I'll be called in for a vaccination when it's my turn, I can't think of anything else designed to help me through it. • From my experience working on the first season, only the select few who work on everything else filmed in Scotland. The Film and TV business is extremely difficult to enter if you're not in the right circle. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Fri 15th Jan 2021 2:02pm)
  • The TV and Film industry is bizarrely secretive and nepostistic in how it works. You get some places that advertise for low-level positions, but the vast majority of work is having the extremely hard to establish connections with others who'll then get you onto other jobs. As a result, it's a weird culture of a small pool of individuals who are just fortunate to get the jobs that everyone outwith the circle never know about. I was a runner for years and I didn't know until after the fact through the news that Detective Pikachu, Hobbes and Shaw, Avengers, etc., were filmed in Scotland. I love those franchises and had the skills and experience to work on them, but it's impossible to work on them if you're not in a very select group of people already in the industry. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Fri 15th Jan 2021 2:00pm)
  • The only show I worked on that had a majority Scottish crew was Homes under the Hammer. The One Show was notorious for having an office in Glasgow yet only hiring one Scottish runner for the day with the rest of the crew coming up from London. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Fri 15th Jan 2021 4:12pm)
  • It was more or less the same for me when I was still in it. My main source of work was a secret Facebook group where you had to know someone who knew someone to get in and even then you had to prove you'd had at least a year's experience. Places like Mandy and the BBC Jobs Portal were close to useless as I never got a job from them. Nah, last job was years ago. Years as a runner on piecemeal jobs wasn't a career, now studying for something that I can actually call one. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Fri 15th Jan 2021 4:16pm)

Then we went to town and tried looking for violent brawls: the only thing we got was a guy jumping in front of and waving to the camera. Haven't watched it, but last time I checked it was renamed 'Glasgow's Killing Streets'. What peeves me is the Scottish person being the weird, quirky person these days. • Amazon customer service has really divebombed as of late. Used to be you'd contact them and get the issue sorted out almost ASAP. Last couple of time times I've contacted them it took three months to get a faulty item returned and refunded and yesterday instead of just replacing a phone that incurred damage from little use, I had to repeat my issue twice to two different agents, submit myself to the third degree as to how the phone got damaged, fanny about sending emails that wouldn't send because the agent kept giving me incorrect email addresses to send pictures of the damage to and constantly say that no, I don't a partial refund, I want the item I paid for working in expected condition. Absolutely no reason that a simple replacement under warranty should take nearly an hour to resolve. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Sun 7th Feb 2021 10:49am)
  • Strathy for Computer Science. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Sun 7th Feb 2021 11:05am)
  • That would explain it. Spent about half an hour describing in great detail what the issue was, having to argue that I didn't do anything that would damage the item like it has, wanting a replacement instead of a partial refund then having to do it all again when the first agent disconnected. Some of the questions took a bit of deciphering to understand what they were asking. It would also explain why the chat was ended before I could ask another question. Samsung was great. The bot was upfront about being one, then placed you to a friendly and helpful employee when it couldn't. It also gave you chat logs of the convo, something which Amazon has screwed me over in the past with by not providing. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Sun 7th Feb 2021 1:53pm)

  • Why the fuck are delivery companies so shite? Needed to return an item and got an email from DPD saying they'll come for the item between 9 - 5 on Monday. In the morning, got a message saying they'll arrive between 1:15 and 2:15. Made sure I was up and ready and that I could hear the doorbell. 2:15 comes and goes and I'm still waiting for the bell to ring. I notice a missed call on my phone. Phone it back, it's the delivery driver who says they tried my doorbell but there was no response. The doorbell never rang. They said they'd come back in a few minutes to pick it up. They come back and then ask me if the supplier has provided me with a label, to which I respond no. As a result, the driver can't give me a label for the package as they've already put into the system that they failed to pick up the package. Said they'd come around again today around the same time to pick it up. Did they fuck. That's two days stuck in the house waiting for nothing. Time to throw in the towel and accept I'm no longer a Star Trek fan. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Fri 19th Feb 2021 10:20am)
  • Disco is the least worst, but it's so depressing and heavy. Picard just takes a massive shit on the character and ideals built up over several years. It's been so long since I watched Voyager that I can't really remember much of it, but I loved Enterprise. The fourth series is some of the best Trek and I really like the characters. That theme tune, though... Aye, true. It's a total 'old man yells at clouds situation', but the new stuff just doesn't seem like the older stuff: there's no philosophical and ethical contemplations, just pew pew shooty battle and space fights where you can't tell what's going on. At least the old stuff will always be there. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Fri 19th Feb 2021 11:07am)

  • I don't have any reason to doubt the veracity of the sources cited on the page and frankly, I don't have the time to waste reading discredited conspiracy theories. There are thousands of academical and medical articles detailing the history and effects of HIV and AIDS across the world and one conspiracy theory isn't enough to debunk them. Went for a walk last night and my estate's main thoroughfare had a massive mountain of shit just lying in the middle of the path. They keep to themselves and aren't harming anyone. That's my exact argument. It's okay for squirrels and other animals to live in the parks, but not rats? If they're not in closes, then what's the harm? If pest control is being called for rats, then why other animals? I think it's pretty cool they've made the park their home, but others are hysterically treating them as if they're making the park uninhabitable. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Fri 23rd Apr 2021 7:57pm)

  • Lockdown easing and nice weather has seen the neighbours becoming noisy arseholes again. Blaring music and loud shouting from a garden party from 11pm until around 6 this morning. Knackered as a result of not being able to able to sleep. Hoping they don't return to blasting ABBA through an amp on sunny days like they did last year. I can't hack yet another summer of this shite. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Sun 25th Apr 2021 7:00am)

  • Online discourse is dead. Someone on a Reform Party advert consistently failed to give sources when saying lockdown was only a reason to remove rights from citizens. No mention of what those rights were and why they were being removed. A Scottish Family Party supporter wouldn't accept 'Googled sources' when I challenged their argument and then wouldn't accept academic Harrvard-referenced sources from an essay I've previously written on the topic. Another Scottish Family Party supporter said that he opposed everything God did, so I asked him his thoughts on mixed fabrics and seeds, with links to the relevant bible passages. He then told me to read the bible in order to 'find the truth', despite the fact that I'd literally just looked up the Bible to find said quotations. He didn't answer the question and implied that he believes that transgender people existing is lower priority than wearing mixed fabrics. It's just a waste of time. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Tue 27th Apr 2021 2:42pm)
  • Why do 'geek' comic/games cafés always sell the same shite food? It's always manky burgers and cheese-soaked toasties. Would be nice to have a sandwich or a baked potato or something while playing boardgames. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Fri 30th Apr 2021 2:57pm)
  • I'm getting flashbacks to Geek Retreat with that comment. That place made me realise that stereotypes exist for a reason. There's another one that's much arier, fresher, lighter and less houfing, but even then the food is the usual microwave burger/frozen chips/horrendous pizza efforts. • Yep. London transport is great. It's pay-as-you-go to get from one area to any other using a variety of transport that constantly runs. If I want to get from the west end to the north, I couldn't tell you how many buses from different operators I'd have to get, what those prices would be or how long it would take to get there. 20 minute drive in the car instead is an obvious preference. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Mon 3rd May 2021 5:53pm)

  • The first time time they had an unannounced all-night karaoke party pre-Covid, I phoned 101 and a police car came along. Two officers got out, had a wee chat with them then left. The neighbours then cranked the volume and blasted (ironically) I Fought The Law. A couple of weeks ago when they broke restrictions to have an all night garden party - lasting from 10pm to at least 6am -, I contacted the council's noise complaints department via webform, immediately received a phone call telling me there was nothing they could do and to phone 101. I did so, made a report and then that was it. There seems to be nothing you can do. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Tue 18th May 2021 5:17pm)

  • That's the pavilion at Victoria Park bowling green and tennis courts burned down. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Sat 22nd May 2021 7:34am)
  • It's really gone downhill. General poor maintenance, closing the Fossil Grove, locking the courts and now this. It would be better if it was moved into the hands of users who actually care about the place. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Sat 22nd May 2021 11:33am)
  • >The pavilion, which is normally open on a seasonal basis between April and September... Wonder where they got this info from. I only ever saw it open once and even then it just seemed to be a Glasgow Live employee manning the toilets. Other than that, it's been locked since the tennis nets were removed. Considering the last time I saw the pavilion being used it was by drunk teenagers climbing on the roof and smashing drink bottles, I'm not particularly surprised by this news. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Sat 22nd May 2021 11:31am)
  • Agreed. There's so many facilities there that are just left to rot: the pavilion, the green, the Fossil Grove, the flowerbeds, the hill where the mini gold used to be. There's potential to turn the blaise pitch into a car park as it's just wasteland at the moment - can't tell you how long that shipping container has been rusting away for. There's obviously a real demand for the community to use these facilities as they have been doing so despite GCC/GL's obvious disdain for the area, so why not just give them ownership? They'd do a hell of a better job than the current owners ever could. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Sat 22nd May 2021 2:11pm)

  • I worked with the DM to make a character that fits into their homebrew world and campaign, but it feels like every time I try to make an earnest attempt to roleplay, the rest of the group doesn't have time for me. They interact with each other in character regularly, but when I try to it's usually met with silence or the DM moving on. It feels like I'm just there for the sake of it rather than being a member of the party. They're all veteran players and I've only been playing with them for a couple of years and despite making characters to complement the party, trying to fit in with the world and learning my character's abilities, it feels like I'm not wanted at the table. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Thu 27th May 2021 1:07pm)

Spent yesterday having to put up with one set of neighbours screeching over shite music blasting from their garden only for a party to start in the flat next to mine. Couldn't get to sleep with people caterwauling over Scissor Sisters and yelling over each other to make themselves loud over the blaring music. Didn't stop until 3am and I'm feeling super fresh for the busy day ahead of me. Totally done with this shite. I don't mind people letting their hair down considerately, but a block blasting Sydney Devine for everyone to hear during the day followed by a flat party with Girls Aloud karaoke and discussions about how to take gear is the height of arseholiness. • Even then, it's mainly down to corporations and nations to make large, meaningful changes than individuals. It's much more effective for decent public transport to implemented, plastic packaging to banned from supermarkets, etc. than for a single person to recycle their cans. They should be targeting the actual polluters of the planet, not just passers-by on the street. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Sat 5th Jun 2021 7:00am)
  • I'm not saying individual good doesn't help, just that recontextualising to focus on the corporations making it necessary is more effective. Say, for instance, Tesco removing plastic packaging. They would not only reduce plastic waste, but also the need for the Individual to deal with it after purchase. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Sat 5th Jun 2021 7:55am)
  • And that would probably done better by, for example, giving money for returning empty bottles or refunds on electric cars rather than just projecting a doomsday clock on the side of a building. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Sat 5th Jun 2021 10:53am)

  • It's not so much the idea is a bad one, it's that GCC are instituting it. They've historically done such a bad job of implementing and maintaining schemes like this that it's understandable that people are pessimistic. It would be great to have a city with nice areas and decent and affordable public transport, but that looks unlikely from the same council that can't even get their bin collections sorted. Would love to be proved wrong. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Sun 6th Jun 2021 7:31am)

  • Thought I'd treat myself to a wee treat on Prime Day, so found a Vans t-shirt I liked. Ordered one and then checked the reviews. The low stars were people saying the item wasn't genuine and they received counterfeit goods and the high ones were saying they were happy with the high-quality 'replicas' they were sent. Fuck that, if I'm buying an item I want a genuine one. I've also had so many issues with different items arriving, damaged or just generally poor quality, so it's just nor worth the risk. Canceled the order and will be greatly reducing my use of Amazon as I just no longer feel confident using them anymore. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Tue 22nd Jun 2021 8:19am)

  • I'm hesitant to get rid of Prime just yet as the Video selection is decent and I use Gaming for Destiny loot, but I'm gonna start using other sources for items. The convenience doesn't outweigh the lack of confidence in using them. Having bought items including a chair that ended up having many fake reviews and a Magic the Gathering booster that arrived opened and in French, it's too risky to use these days. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Tue 22nd Jun 2021 10:28am)
  • It's so depressing seeing how many items are destroyed and it's horrifying to find out the perfectly fine items I returned were most likely wasted. It's okay using them if you get the actual item you're buying and feel confident it will be good quality, but the fact Amazon has become so low quality and unreliable and the fact that returns are likely destroyed just don't make it worth it anymore. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Tue 22nd Jun 2021 10:25am)
  • Yeah, I thought this when buying the t-shirt. There was a link to the official Vans Store on the product page, which added an air of legitimacy. Amazon obviously don't vet any of the sales or products. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Tue 22nd Jun 2021 2:02pm)

  • My plan to use my skateboard as a form of 'active' transport to get around Glasgow is dead in the water. The roads here are so terrible that at best you only travel a few seconds before coming to a xomkpletr stop and at worst deck it hitting cracks and potholes. • That skateboarding is 'noisy and damaging' and 'having one will encourage others' and they don't want it to become a 'problem'. Worried that they'll now have 'squads of skateboarders coming around just to make a point'. • Anyone have any ideas of how to make older pals at uni? I'm a mature student and while I'm a member of several societies, it can feel a bit weird hanging out with people more than a decade younger who talk about things I can't relate to and are prone to missing events due to being hungover. Mainly just looking for some like-minded students to form a study group with and have the occasional event that doesn't just involve an all-nighter at the pub. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Tue 28th Sep 2021 10:02am)
  • I can't do that at the moment because all our lectures are online atm. Zoom lectures are a no go for meeting people since everyone is just a name on a screen. Will try that when we're back to in person teaching. Cheers for the advice! by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Tue 28th Sep 2021 1:23pm)
  • Yeah, I was a member and feel the same. The social areas and online events were just one guy talking about himself and dominating the conversation and while the study area was good, I never spoke to anyone either within or outwith them. It might be better this year. I tried making a post on the FB group about making a study group a while ago, but nothing came of it. I'm currently the oldest person in all my seminars - not allowed to go to lectures again yet. I know a few older students from my access courses, but again no-one has expressed interest in making a study group. I'll lone wolf it like I did last year and see if I can have any success this year. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Tue 28th Sep 2021 1:22pm)

  • Scunnered with uni not even two weeks in and the uni aren't making it easy to change that feeling. Joined a live lecture only to discover it had been canceled due to lecturer illness. A forum post had been made on Moodle 45 minutes before the start time, but due to how Moodle delays email notifications, we didn't receive any emails saying so until the lecture actually started. Looked at the reading list of another subject and saw a big, bold **ESSENTIAL** written beside a high-urgency book. Traipsed in to get it from the library and then noticed that no chapters were actually highlighted. Emailed to find out which to read and found out later in the day that no, the reading was actually just suggested and I could read what I liked from it. Had to trudge into the library to drop it off again early the next day. Now we're being told to watch two lectures before a seminar tomorrow. However, only one of the lectures has been posted and it's been password-protected with no password being provided. I've just wasted so much trying to access materials than actually use them, a feeling I've gotten from all my classes so far. We've been online learning for a year now, so why is it still an issue to provide clear information and access to materials? I'm already unhappy with my experience of HE thus far and this isn't helping. Think I'll just take the day off. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Thu 30th Sep 2021 10:13am)

  • Played a gig last night, no checks. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Wed 24th Nov 2021 3:26pm)
  • Went to The Offspring last night, first gig there for over two years. Was moving around trying to get a decent view and my foot touched another person's. Then I felt a foot trying to take my leg out from under me. Turned out to see an old guy just looking at me and shrugging like he hadn't done anything weird. A guy leaving the front of the audience essentially felt up my chest as he left the crowd and a fight broke out randomly between the people in front of us. Tried to watch the show between these people getting up in each other's faces. As we were walking to the car, saw a guy stumbling dazed to his feet before he and his pals started shouting at another group of people before trading blows and falling all over the street in front of moving cars. First guy I saw ended up shouting abuse as he struggled to stay on his feet. Then walked past a man lying on the ground on the verge of tears cradling a street sign. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Sun 28th Nov 2021 8:59am)

  • Yeah, the gig itself was decent enough, as good as you could expect from The Hydro anyway, it sucked how it was more the audience that caused problems. Didn't seem to matter the age, the guy who tried to deck me was old, the groper and the fighters were younger. I tried not to let it spoil my night, but it's still sticking with me. Sent off an email to customer services, see what they say. Sucked for it to happen at all, let alone seeing a band I've wanted to see for 24 years. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Sun 28th Nov 2021 10:47am)

  • This is why I don't bother with Hydro gigs anymore. £60 in an Arcade Fire presale that got me seats miles away from the stage. However much an Eagles ticket cost, only to hear the snare echoing off the back of the arena. £45 for an Offspring ticket where you couldn't see anything. Was gonna get an MCR ticket, but £65 for the cheapest seats and not being guaranteed a good gig just isn't worth it. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Tue 11th Jan 2022 12:59pm)
  • Aye, any venue bigger than The Garage is pretty much a no go for me nowadays. I used to be the same, but alas I'm no longer hip and cool anymore. • I can see what they were going for, but: 1. They should have made it clear from the outset that they'd be doing that. Trying to get info for Hydro gigs is like getting blood out of a stone. I've only ever been able to get actual stage times once from the helpline. 2. It doesn't solve the problem that they're trying to solve. The low tech solution is much more viable and easier to institute. I was groped at The Offspring and I told a steward who then told me to email customer services as they 'really cared about and were quick to respond to' issues like that. Sent an email that night, received a response a fortnight later essentially saying 'sorry that happened to you'. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Tue 11th Jan 2022 4:58pm)

Whenever I asked her if there was anything I could do to be better landlord, she always said no. That said, I was living with her so had a vested interest in making the home comfortable for both parties. I totally get where you're coming from, though. • Same, it was a shit show. Having to use workarounds for workarounds on the ageing, not fir for purpose software. Phoning up the helpline for advice only to be reprimanded the next for doing something wrong. Literally sitting in the office by myself waiting for five o'clock to roll around since everyone had used flexitime but I couldn't because I was on probation. Managers coming over and asking what you're doing because the work monitoring application's arbitrary time limit has elapsed. Final straw was my first and only performance evaluation. • Selling some vinyl. Guy posted on a local area Facebook group saying he was looking so messaged him. Told him I'd send what I had and get a price for him. 'ok' Said he wasn't looking to pay 'top dollar' for anything: 🚩. Asked me what a certain, sought after vinyl was worth. Had a look online, average price was £30, so offered that. 'ok' Unable to to clarify whether he meant he was happy to buy at that price or if he was just acknowledging it, I asked him if he was wanting to look at anything else. 'ok' Then clarified that he was looking to pay £5 - £10 per batch. When I asked him what he meant by batch, he said a joblot of 50 records. Felt like telling him that if you're getting into vinyl collection, you're never going to get decent stuff for prices like that and that he had an unrealistic expectation of how the record market worked but didn't bother, just saying I couldn't help him. 'ok' Turns out the original price I quoted was for the reissue, not the original, which was going for an average of £125. Missed out on a bargain, I guess. 🤷 by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Thu 3rd Feb 2022 10:22am)

  • Years ago, I undertook a coding 'crash course' that was actually clearly designed for people who could already code. While others blasted through projects and homework within half an hour, I struggled to grasp the fundamentals from easily frustrated lecturers who consistently failed to convey coding concepts and take into account the amount of time I spent in the building trying to understand things, managers who put me on a support system that was basically 'read this book for children and do more work than the others' and basically either having it implied to me or directly told to me that I was incapable of doing the course. It got to the point that I was made to feel so miserable that I became genuinely suicidal with how worthless I was made to feel, dropped out and lost thousands of pounds of unrecoverable money despite being told I could use it towards future courses with that company. Today, I'm submitting a coding project for university after being given clear, concise and consistent instruction on the fundamentals of coding and how to implement it, easy access to lecturers and tutors willing to help on both a face-to-face and digital basis and being told I was on the right track and doing a good job throughout. I'm looking at my code and feeling proud of what I've accomplished as opposed to being in floods of tears looking at my code and feeling worthless that it wasn't work. Made me realise that I *can* actually code, that the tuition on the crash course was terrible and little more than a scam. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Fri 25th Feb 2022 9:39am)

  • Genuine question: is there a misogyny problem in Scotland? There was a piece on Radio Scotland today about new misogyny legislation and people were discussing it. One caller made it seem like it was a rampant occurrence that women faced every day and used male schoolkids not wearing masks and female schoolkids wearing them in the classroom as an example of internalised misogyny. Another text from a female listener said that Scotland wasn't misogynistic at all. Having spoken with my female family and friends, I've not heard any stories of hate or violence towards women being directed at them. I have no-to-limited experience being a white male, so was looking to find out more to see if it's a problem I don't know about. • Anybody looking for two tickets to Barenaked Ladies tonight at the Royal Concert Hall? Been hit with the 'Vid, so can't go. Two tickets are £30, so basically two for the price of one. Seats are Block F, Row A, 29 - 30. Collection as I'm self-isolating. Other flatmate is fine, so can pass the tickets on. First come, first served. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Wed 16th Mar 2022 3:39pm)
  • Reminds me of the time last year that the recycling was collected outside my bedroom window at 1am. Complained to my MP who complained to the council who said it wouldn't happen again... only for the exact same thing to happen the next week. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Fri 18th Mar 2022 10:26am)
  • Watching a Russian ambassador saying that a theatre housing civilians that was bombed wasn't bombed and a Tory standing at a podium saying it's awful how the working class is being treated by P&O. What the actual fuck is going on? by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Fri 18th Mar 2022 1:10pm)

  • Fed up with constantly being let down by people. People offer jobs/work then never get back to you when you message them about it. People say they'll take you to do something, then you catch up with them later and find out they've taken somebody else. Friend messaged me saying he missed me and we should go and see all the comic book movies together. Messaged him asking when we're going to see the next one and I'm told he's already booked tickets with someone else without telling me. Need to stop taking people at their word. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Tue 29th Mar 2022 1:10pm)
  • Aye, I have been. Workwise, I'd email maybe once every two weeks before I'd give up. I was emailing the society convenor, but stopped when I didn't get a response. As for the film person, I was always the one suggesting what to see and arranging everyone meeting up. If I don't put in the effort, nothing gets arranged and even then I can only do so much if other people don't respond to or think to include me. by MommaNamedMeSheriff (Tue 29th Mar 2022 6:02pm)
