  • We never got to go to the SECC for it, instead they did the rounds of the high schools when I was in first year and there was this cringey as fuck, nails on a chalk board voiced, so far up his own arse he can see his breakfast guy that kept singing about not doing drugs & chasing a natural high. Stupid twat after singing went on to ask for examples of a natural high, apparently "Choking yourself to the point of orgasm" & "Tying a noose from the gym hall rafters, slinging it round your neck & kicking a chair away from you" were not the answers he was looking for. by PatriciaMorticia (Sat 8th Jun 2019 1:20am)

  • The ibuprofen/period pain tablets one always irks me, bleeding out my fanny for three debilitating days is not a luxury, why should I pay extra for the pink box of "targeted period pain" pills when I can get tablets that have the exact same ingredients & amount of pain relief for literally pennies? There's a lady I look after at work who shopped at Marks & Spencer's all her days as it was "posh" and back then good quality, so this rubbed off on her three daughters. The eldest of them we dubbed "Mrs Marks & Sparks", will eat anything that isn't from there, we had a discussion about the name brand/store band argument you mentioned, she looked like I'd shit in her shoe when I said in most cases her M & S digestives are made in the exact same factory as the cheap Morrisons own brand ones in the unit's biscuit tin. by PatriciaMorticia (Sat 3rd Aug 2019 1:04am)

  • At least in the streets you can see them and plan a way to avoid them, I'm in East Kilbride and the shopping centre here is crawling with them to the point I play a game of "dodge the chuggers". Get off the bus and go in through the doors there? Nope, there's two of em trying to flog credit cards, gotta go round the side byt the post office. Get near the doors and see another stand trying to get you to switch energy supplier or enter into a direct debit charity lottery, round to the entrance beside New Look it is, thankfully a no go zone for them as the cafe in the middle of that mall leave them no space. A bit of a reprieve, think you'll be safe from them down by Debenhams but no, you've got the Sky kiosk outside Waterstones (usually they don't bother you) then there's always one outside HMV, usually flogging life insurance. To avoid those two if I want to get to the upper level shops I take the lift at the corner of primark, a safe zone up there as the only space they could use would be blocking the escalators. Down the escilator to Debenhams entrance heading for Disney Store or Yankee Candle & there's a new pitch point by USC/Zara, another gas/elecricity supplier one! All I want is to shop in peace and not be harassed every few steps by the above! Wouldn't be surprised if there comes a day I step out of the ladies toilets and find a chugger pitched up by the door. by PatriciaMorticia (Thu 5th Sep 2019 11:46pm)
  • Brilliant that they're becoming more common. I want to say there's one somewhere in St Enoch Centre & I think one at the steps outside Buchanna Galleries but I might be wrong. by PatriciaMorticia (Thu 5th Sep 2019 11:52pm)

  • I've got no fucks left to give so I don't fall for the pity trap. They seem to get about always at Nationwide or two steps from the entrance & exit of Home Bargains. Sounds terrible but if I see their orange buckets from a distance then I put my earphones in, stick to the walls like glue and use a passing young mum & baby in buggy or granny with a zimmer frame a shield. by PatriciaMorticia (Fri 6th Sep 2019 8:16pm)
  • If you drive it up to Cathkin Braes then it's definetly a sex thing. by PatriciaMorticia (Wed 16th Oct 2019 11:50pm)
  • Bring back the "Fanny" advert! It was brilliant. The "Even thought I used to be a man" one always had my dear old dad choking with laughter when it came on. by PatriciaMorticia (Wed 23rd Oct 2019 8:50pm)
  • I love the Necropolis & the cathedral, such beautiful gothic architecture & so peaceful walking round it. The views from the top hills are lovely as well. by PatriciaMorticia (Thu 7th Nov 2019 11:19pm)
  • I've always through Glasgow looked a bit like Gotham with some of the older archetecture, so it will be fun to see it come to life during filming. I went into town with my mum & Aunt when they were filming World War Z and it was quite jarring to see american street lights, cars & newspaper boxes in the middle of Glasgow. by PatriciaMorticia (Sun 12th Jan 2020 5:23pm)
  • I love how the comments turned into a battle over the best pizza place in Glasgow, I didn't know half these places existed until now. Man I love Glasgow 😂 by PatriciaMorticia (Mon 13th Jan 2020 12:48pm)

  • No way will Bellahouston's grass be back in shape in time for Green Day, Fall Out Boy & Weezer playing there on the Hella Mega tour on June 25th. by PatriciaMorticia (Mon 20th Jan 2020 4:19pm)
  • I was just thinking the pipe band championships haven't been there for years. I keep thinking Green Day will be a no show after they were meant to play Bellahouston on 4th July 2017 & cancelled at the last minute. by PatriciaMorticia (Tue 21st Jan 2020 1:32pm)
  • 😂 Flashbacks to their July 4th 2017 gig that got cancelled 39 mins before gates opened, I was fucking raging. by PatriciaMorticia (Thu 23rd Jan 2020 8:45pm)

  • The dancing cat guy's been replaced? by PatriciaMorticia (Wed 5th Feb 2020 1:36pm)
  • How long has he been pitched up outside St Enoch? I don't think I can remember a time he wasn't there. How come there's so many chuggers on the stretch of Buchannan Street between the concert hall and the new Forbidden Planet? It's like running a bloody gauntlet down that end. by PatriciaMorticia (Mon 10th Feb 2020 6:50pm)
  • You'd probably be best to get a membership at a private gym. I'm East Kilbride and had a South Lanarkshire Council membership for the Dollan Aqua Centre, couldn't get a proper swim in for weans swimming lessons and EK swim team practice, the changing areas were manky to. Joined Nuffield Health last year and can't fault the place, cleaner & way better facilities, no hiking up and doon the stairs for different bits. by PatriciaMorticia (Mon 10th Feb 2020 7:01pm)
  • No bad big man, how ye dain'? by PatriciaMorticia (Wed 12th Feb 2020 4:08pm)
  • Calderglen Country Park is just down the road from me in East Kilbride & has an indoor & outdoor animal area, along with a wee cafe for a bite to eat after. You've also got Heads of Ayr farm that's brilliant too. by PatriciaMorticia (Thu 13th Feb 2020 6:55pm)
  • I fucking despite the Hydro! Took mum & her man to see Still Game live 2 there and we were sat up at the fecking ceiling, was not ideal with him having knee issues & her being shit scared of heights with nowt but a wee ankle height bit of concrete stopping you tumbling down to the floor, and the escelators and lifts only going to the first two levels made getting to our seats & the bar a nightmare. Saw Avenged Sevenfold, Alice Cooper & Panic! At The Disco there as well but was on the floor so sound was fine there. I've been in the VIP bit downstairs and fuck me the prices for a shitty 4 slice pizza & that fucking pish Barr's cola! Funnily enough every time I've been for a show all the vending machines are "out of order" so you need to stump up for a bottle of water. Haven't been to Broadcast or Audio but never heard a good thing about Audio from anyone who has. Never got the chance to see a gig at the ABC :( by PatriciaMorticia (Thu 13th Feb 2020 10:37pm)
  • Haven't been to Tuts but glad to know St Lukes is good, going there on tuesday to see Pvris & the place looks lovely. I've been to Still Game Live 2, Avenged Sevenfold, Alice Cooper & Panic! At The Disco in the Hydro, I despise the venue & the Panic! show was poorly organised with the Hydro & promoter staff, nobody knew where the GA standing and seats were to queue up & got told twice I was at the wrong door for VIP (wee side door across from the tunnel that's been the VIP door for all previous shows I went to there), and trying to get out at the end with stewards hustling you to the side to pick up your vip merch stuff they should have had out during the early entry tbh. by PatriciaMorticia (Thu 13th Feb 2020 10:42pm)
  • Happy cake day mate! by PatriciaMorticia (Thu 13th Feb 2020 10:46pm)
  • Only been to the Armadillo twice, 1st time was Steps farewell tour when I was wee then a few years back for All Time Low, they put on a great show but you're right about the soulless feeling, it's quite eerie. Never been to ABC before the fires, I've seen Against The Current & Set It Off at the Garage, great gigs in an intimate venue but hate the trek up from Glasgow Central. by PatriciaMorticia (Thu 13th Feb 2020 10:46pm)
  • 14 year old me was very amused by the bouncy Barrowland floor during my first rock concert (Within Temptation & The 69 Eyes as the opening act). by PatriciaMorticia (Thu 13th Feb 2020 11:36pm)
  • I treated myself to VIP that includes early entry so no worries about battling to get to the barricade for me 😎 I totally get what you mean about the Hydro being too big show wise, if a band like 30STM stuggles to have their sound hit everywhere in the venue then you know something is wrong. When I saw Panic! I was at the barrier (I pay for the priviledge of VIP for early entry & to beat all the "we were camped outside all day!" barricade brats) I heard people when the show was over who were in the seats saying the sound was terrible & echoed even in the first balcony, and Brendon Urie can (and did) hit those fucking high notes so you know something's wrong. How was Disney On Ice at the hydro? Me & my pal are looking to go in April when I'm back from Disneyland Paris, still strange seeing it advertised and not seeing Braehead Arena under it. by PatriciaMorticia (Thu 13th Feb 2020 11:35pm)
  • I'm a grown ass 26 year old woman & big disney fan so I'm buying tickets for me 😂 It really is. What's the point of hitting those high notes if half the arena can't hear it due to sound issues with the venue?! by PatriciaMorticia (Fri 14th Feb 2020 3:17am)
  • Out of that lot only been to Barrowlands, but I get what you mean, like it's proper nitty gritty Glasgow and not that polished plastic turd kind of feeling like the Hydro ect. I've been there once years back for Peter Andre (free ticket, don't judge me) and from what I remember the whole feeling of the place was very odd & hollow. Only time I'm in it now is for a smaller comic con every June. by PatriciaMorticia (Fri 14th Feb 2020 3:20am)
  • They should be alright but sometimes they can be cunts about it. I went to see All Time Low there with my cousin a few years back, I had a physical ticket got in no bother, my cousin had hers on her phone & after a lot of arguing with the twat steward, another steward came over, scanned the code on her phone & let her in. by PatriciaMorticia (Mon 17th Feb 2020 6:53pm)
  • I'd say have a look on twitter as well if you have an account, I find out about most shows I go to through that & in the few days before the show there's always people selling tickets that can't go, & at face value. by PatriciaMorticia (Mon 17th Feb 2020 7:03pm)
  • Was surprised seeing Jimmy Eat World there, I wanna see that after missing them at Slam Dunk 2018 but don't wanna cough up the money for one band. Vukovi are pretty good, saw them open for Set It Off at the Garage back in April. by PatriciaMorticia (Mon 17th Feb 2020 7:10pm)
  • DELETED If they have to stay on religious conversation all I can imagine is "I was on my knees to please him on Sunday, I wasn't in church but he was screaming Oh God, if ya know what I mean 😏." by PatriciaMorticia (Mon 24th Feb 2020 3:30pm)
  • Kick up fuck on their social media to make more people aware for starters with the email for the licensing board in your comments & then email the licensing board to complain with the evidence op provided. No way should that be happening in our city. by PatriciaMorticia (Wed 4th Mar 2020 12:08pm)
  • I went to Costco in Glasgow yesterday to do our few months stock up of big buy items like soap powder, cans of juice & bog roll, it was madness with queues out both doors at 10am. Staff were smart and limited the massive packs of bog roll to one per card holder & lifted tons of toilet roll out of the panic buyers trolleys. by PatriciaMorticia (Mon 9th Mar 2020 2:55pm)
  • The Hamilton one is a great wee place, we adopted our Westie & Lhasa Apso from there almost three years ago, the staff were brilliant. Good on you for taking the lazy eye kitty. by PatriciaMorticia (Thu 12th Mar 2020 9:02pm)
  • My stepgran is normal a lovely, polite wee woman but she would have made a Sailor blush with what she said when she saw on the news they were suggesting her age group stay home and self isolate: "Ahm no stayin' in the fucking hoose sitting oan ma todd fir four weeks! Bad enough the bingo & bowling club are off along wae ma wee pensioner club! The government isnae gonnae ground me and tell me what I kin an canny dae!" by PatriciaMorticia (Mon 16th Mar 2020 6:15pm)
  • At least it's clean for a council gym. I was at a South Lanarkshire gym for best part of a year and the dust on some of the machines was shocking. And the less said about the single shower on the top floor the better 🤮 by PatriciaMorticia (Mon 16th Mar 2020 6:30pm)
  • I have elderly neighbours who are like the grandparents of the street and always see the husband Billy down the shopping centre doing his weekly shop as the wife Marion doesn't keep well. Chapped his door before I went down the shops this morning to make sure they were okay and see if they needed anything, thankfully their daughters come up on fridays and do the big shop for them so he just needs to get wee bits from Iceland. He said quite a few of the neighbours have chapped the door to see if they need anything, I told him me & mum are only two doors down if he can't get to the shops. Glad to see my street still has the sense of community I felt growing up. by PatriciaMorticia (Mon 16th Mar 2020 6:38pm)
  • No change to the 18 my arse, I'll still be waiting 30 mins for one to show up at East Kilbride bus station and have three rock up at the same time. by PatriciaMorticia (Thu 19th Mar 2020 9:29pm)
  • Morrisons & Iceland in East Kilbride doing the same. Strange to see but at least people are finally taking this shit seriously. by PatriciaMorticia (Wed 25th Mar 2020 2:33pm)
  • It's a good idea, once a big thing like this is over we all tend to forget what we did during it. by PatriciaMorticia (Thu 26th Mar 2020 12:33pm)

  • I miss being able to jumo the train into Glasgow from EK and wander about for a change of scenery, at least people are taking this seriously. by PatriciaMorticia (Wed 8th Apr 2020 11:51am)
  • Might give it a wee watch. Quite liked The Legend of Barney Thomson with Robert Carlisle as that's set in Glasgow & around Bridgeton, if you haven't seen it I highly recommend if you want a dark comedy. by PatriciaMorticia (Fri 17th Apr 2020 8:10pm)
  • Best of luck to you when you start your course. You'll love it up here, Glasgow's got plenty to do and everyone for the most part is friendly but like any other place you do get a few idiots. You'll be fine up here and will make plenty of friends on your course. by PatriciaMorticia (Fri 1st May 2020 4:32pm)
  • Bastards. Can we get a r/Glasgow list of companies that are treating their staff like shite during the pandemic so nobody supports them after this is over if they survived? by PatriciaMorticia (Fri 1st May 2020 4:39pm)
  • Castlemilk is an odd one. You expect a quaint little village or nice little suburban town, what you get is the bastard love child of Craiglang from Still Game & the Chatsworth estate from Shameless. by PatriciaMorticia (Mon 11th May 2020 12:40pm)
  • What a lovely gesture from the truckers for one of their own. We drove by the Linn Crematorium in Castlemilk the other day and it must have been a biker's funeral, tons of bikers all spaced out in their bikes at either side, helemets off and revving their engines as the hearse drove up to the building. by PatriciaMorticia (Mon 18th May 2020 2:36pm)
  • Oooft 😍 by PatriciaMorticia (Fri 5th Jun 2020 4:55pm)
  • How are the trains just now with travel from England to Scotland with social distancing? My gran is itching to get down to her sisters in Stevanage when restrictions are lifted a bit more and is wondering how they'll enforce it. by PatriciaMorticia (Fri 12th Jun 2020 5:48pm)
  • I like that. I know the Big Yin has the murals round the city but a statue of him would be nice to see, he's done alot for Scottish and Glaswegian tourism and is one of our most well known exports. by PatriciaMorticia (Fri 12th Jun 2020 5:45pm)
  • So glad you two mentioned it, I used to love going there with my Granny on a sathrday morning and was convinced I imagined the place existed after having vivid flashbacks to the spaceship you could play inside. Googled "Warner Brothers store Glasgow" and after so many hits for that bloody Harry Potter shop found a photo of the store front, brings back memories: http://www.communitywalk.com/location/warner_bros_studio_store/info/1401689 by PatriciaMorticia (Fri 12th Jun 2020 6:06pm)

  • Look up Help The Homeless Glasgow on facebook, they're a great team of volunteers who have a table set up outside Marks & Spencer on Argyle Street the first Saturday of every month (before lockdown) with hot meals cooked by the volunteers, food donated from McPhee's Bakery, Greencore and Tesco Suchiehall Street and boxes of donated clothes they can help thereselves too. They've done brilliant during lockdown by cooking meals and delivering them to the temporary accomodation sites that are housing the homeless. by PatriciaMorticia (Wed 17th Jun 2020 4:19pm)
  • I though you were joking but nope, dirty bastard tugging his tadger 🤮 Guess he was pytting the "wank" in gym wanker. The subreddit doesn't seem to be very active since that was posted 8 months ago. by PatriciaMorticia (Sun 21st Jun 2020 4:20pm)

  • I went into Glasgow from East Kilbride around lunchtime today and it was pretty quiet, queue moved quickly and everyone stuck to the blue markers both outside and inside the shop but one thing that hasn't changed it the bloody heat in the place! Was sweating like a sinner in church. by PatriciaMorticia (Mon 29th Jun 2020 7:16pm)

  • Due to my medical issues I am covered under the exemptions set out by the Scottish Government and they can't force me to wear a mask due to this is pretty much what my gp said as proof of exemption is not required. by PatriciaMorticia (Sat 18th Jul 2020 8:55pm)
  • I have seen a few people wearing those green sunflower lanyards out and about, I thought it was a fashion thing but I looked into the link someone below provided and that might be a big help since it's recognized in supermarkets. by PatriciaMorticia (Sat 18th Jul 2020 10:15pm)
  • Personally I love seeing the boys & men all done up in kilts at weddings, they look really smart & it's something different from the boring old suit. As to the "true Scotsman" bit, if you wanna go commando the go for it, wanna keep your bits covers then so be it. I don't have a dick but can't imagine having it all flapping about as your dancing is very comfortable. The dirty drunk 40+ women need to keep their hands to themselves as they'd go mental if someone asked what they were wearing under their dress and lifted it up. by PatriciaMorticia (Fri 21st Aug 2020 1:00pm)
  • Most weddings I've attended I've seen the drunk over 40 aunties and other female relations trying to lift the kilts with maybe two or three 20 somethings trying it as well. No need to be so triggered, merely an observation 🙄 by PatriciaMorticia (Sat 22nd Aug 2020 12:10am)
  • I did that tour a few years back with my mum, it was brilliant to see the Victorian platform they found under the station. Walking in the main station you'd never kniw something like that was under your feet. I think there's some clips of it on Youtube or Hidden Glasgow. by PatriciaMorticia (Wed 26th Aug 2020 6:20pm)
  • Third it after seeing the tattoo's my best friend got done there, they did great work on her Harley Quinn forearm tattoo & skull tattoo on her thigh. The difference between the skull and the mermaid done at R & R on the opposite thigh are unbelivable. by PatriciaMorticia (Mon 14th Sep 2020 5:21pm)
  • I never noticed it until you pointed it out, it does look really scabby. Why not tarmac the whole thing if you don't wanna lay down more tiles? I really wonder what the foreign tourists first impressions are when they walk out of Central. by PatriciaMorticia (Sun 27th Sep 2020 6:19pm)
  • Damn christmas is going to be fucking miserable this year. Hopefully they still put the christmas lights up so the city centre isn't totally devoid of christmas cheer. by PatriciaMorticia (Fri 2nd Oct 2020 12:46am)

  • If you're on facebook look up Help The Homeless Glasgow. I've volunteered with them before and they have a drop off station at Aspire on Garscube Road and inside Cartyne Credit Union as well. by PatriciaMorticia (Sun 25th Oct 2020 12:18pm)
  • They need to be banned from public purchase and only be used at organised events on bonfire night only. My dogs hate them, the Westie barks like mad and the Lhasa Apso is shit scared of loud noises as it is, poor wee guy howls, whimpers and buries himself behing the cushions on the couch when they start. Also the effect the noise they make has on some dementia residents where I work who lived through the blitz and served on the front lines during the wars is bloody heartbreaking to see, one man is normally a lovey, calm person but when fireworks start going off in the run up to bonfire night he starts screaming "the bastards are bombing us!" and gets terribly worked up and a lady in my unit came running from her room when a random one went off at 10pm screaming and crying because she thought she was back in the blitz and she lost her mum & sister during a bombing. Not to mention all the wee arseholes letting them off at 2am during the week round my way. by PatriciaMorticia (Wed 4th Nov 2020 11:23pm)
  • I think shitting on the door mat in front of the flat might me more on the jakie/alchie level tbh going by what I've seen round my way. by PatriciaMorticia (Sat 7th Nov 2020 9:04pm)

  • Glad I finished all my xmas shopping in October. Went to East Kilbride Shopping Centre with mum around 12pm today so she could get her last few bits in and the place was packed. Apparently wearing a mask seems to hinder people's ability to follow the one was system with the big bloody arrows on the floor, especially the high school brats out for their lunch and a few Karen types who were strutting round the joint with nose hanging out their mask or had it hanging off one ear while on the phone. by PatriciaMorticia (Tue 17th Nov 2020 4:58pm)
  • At the BBC they do. by PatriciaMorticia (Sun 29th Nov 2020 12:29am)

  • Aww that's bollocks! I'm like Bambi learning to walk on an ice rink but loved it. M & D's theme park still has one at christmas but it's tiny and you can barely move from all the wee bams. by PatriciaMorticia (Sun 13th Dec 2020 11:34am)

  • Looks so ominus yet so peacefull, I love it up there. by PatriciaMorticia (Fri 8th Jan 2021 12:56am)
  • Couldn't believe it's snowing again. I went into work at 2pm and nothing, look out the window while dishing up dinner at 5pm and the place is covered! Some of the girls in my work come from Hamilton and when they come up there's not a hint of snow until they hit the Whirlies roundabout then it's like bloody Narnia. by PatriciaMorticia (Tue 19th Jan 2021 9:29pm)

  • Jesus there's a repressed childhood memory. I'm pretty sure the band was Freefaller. by PatriciaMorticia (Thu 15th Jul 2021 1:43pm)
  • They're filiming in St Vincent Street and Cochrane Street. I'm taking my Mum in on Sunday to go see it. Search through the sub as there's been pictures and a video of the classic cars being used posted here that was pretty cool to see. by PatriciaMorticia (Thu 15th Jul 2021 1:46pm)
  • I love it when TK Maxx rolls out the spooky stuff, they do proper halloween stuff that isn't geared towards kid. I spent a small fortune recently on some halloween cushions and a musical snowglobe with a haunted house inside and little black bat confetti. by PatriciaMorticia (Fri 13th Aug 2021 11:06pm)
  • The bowling alley at M & D's theme park has one if you don't mind a day trip to Motherwell. by PatriciaMorticia (Sun 22nd Aug 2021 3:54pm)
  • There's two, one beside Guitar Hero in the bowling alley and another in the main arcade to the right of the main indoor entrance. The bowling alley one has definetly seen better days, the speakers in the arcade one are gubbed. by PatriciaMorticia (Mon 23rd Aug 2021 10:51am)
  • You've got a pretty good selection: Katie's, Delmonica's, Polo Lounge, AXM and all the other's that have been mentioned. The Cathouse does a drag night called "Hellbent" on (I think) the last Sunday of every month. by PatriciaMorticia (Sun 29th Aug 2021 12:01am)
  • Just seen this in an EK facebook group, that's some amount of damage and must have been terrifying for the poor people inside the house. I hope the driver gets charged for what he's done. by PatriciaMorticia (Tue 7th Sep 2021 10:08pm)

  • Met Frank McAvennie in East Kilbride Waterstones a few years ago, was in picking up a new Celtic book for my Uncle's birthday and he started chatting away to me while I was in the queue. Thought it was odd he was in EK until I realised he was setting up for a book signing he was doing later that day. On the way out the shop found my Mum chatting away to him and he was nice enough to sign the back of one of the book signing posters for my Uncle with a wee happy birthday message on it. Really nice guy and my Uncle was chuffed to bits. by PatriciaMorticia (Thu 9th Sep 2021 2:05pm)
  • Ugh I loathe that woman! A quick google says she's in trouble for up to 20 racist tweets she posted in the past, including calling then X Factor judge Kelly Rowland "The black horse from the USA" & "That horsey faced black wummin" and a tweet about rapper Snoop Dogg being arested for weed possession "I can't believe Snoop dog gets jailed for posessing weed - he's a black rapper of course he has weed that's his job isn't it? And singing" She's also in the shit for using "Spazzy" and "Mongo" in tweets and referring to a journalist with what she called a "weird overbite" as looking like a Chernobyl victim. All around irritating c*nt and hopefully this gets her off the telly. by PatriciaMorticia (Thu 9th Sep 2021 5:04pm)
  • Download the First Bus app and set your location to Greater Glasgow and you can plan your journeys. As for your third question yeah it is common for busses to go missing or not show, the 18 is bad for it, it's usually late and then two show up at the same time. by PatriciaMorticia (Tue 21st Sep 2021 12:47pm)
  • Anti vaxxer & anti masker protesters. Was in town earlier and bumped into one of them who works with my mum, he was fuming the security guards wouldn't let them march maskless through St Enoch Shooping Centre. by PatriciaMorticia (Sat 25th Sep 2021 6:50pm)
  • Stalls is standing, balcony is, well the nosebleed seats in the balcony. Been there for many gigs and always on the floor (stalls). by PatriciaMorticia (Tue 5th Oct 2021 6:38pm)
  • I was going to suggest Settlers as well, it's a great wee place and has a nice community feel to it. I'm not a gamer but I do love it in there. by PatriciaMorticia (Fri 8th Oct 2021 2:25am)
  • Bumble (I think) has a friends option as I've seen it mentioned here a few times. Keep an eye on the sub for the next r/Glasgow pub meet up, you'll meet a few folk from here and maybe make some friends. I'd look into groups focused around any hobbies you have as that's a great way to meet like minded people as well. by PatriciaMorticia (Sun 10th Oct 2021 10:11pm)
  • I want to say it's usually announced in "The Steamie" posts but I may be wrong, someone with better knowledge than me in the sub might be able to help find it. I haven't used it myself so couldn't say if it's any good. by PatriciaMorticia (Sun 10th Oct 2021 10:23pm)
  • What was your usual shitehole? We need a base rating to measure with. John Lewis' toilets are quite nice. by PatriciaMorticia (Mon 11th Oct 2021 12:11am)
  • They've been doing that since the first lockdown since theu couldn't go round the doors. I'm in East Kilbride and we have a Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall near us but they've never sent letters, only those leaflets to try an coax you to join. Did have them come to the door once and my Dad's booming voice from the kitchen yelling "They don't let their dying weans have blood transfusions so they can git tae fuck!" sent them running back up the garden path. by PatriciaMorticia (Mon 11th Oct 2021 6:45pm)
  • I've only been for two shows (Circus of Horrors pre Covid & Chicago back in September) and both times I've had seats on the floor, usually 3rd or 4th row from the stage. If you go to a weekday show the seats are a little bit cheaper versus weekend or opening night shows, Chicago was about £50ish including booking fees for a weeknight show. I'd say it depends on what you're going to see and how much you want to see. Do not get seats right up the back, you'll be absolutely roasted with the heat up there. by PatriciaMorticia (Tue 12th Oct 2021 10:57pm)
  • Help The Homeless Glasgow run a hot food table in Argyle Street just outside Marks and Spencer every saturday from 6pm (I think). Have volunteered at the tables a few times and it's a great wee charity. by PatriciaMorticia (Wed 13th Oct 2021 7:07pm)
  • Yer maw's fanny is a pumphouse. by PatriciaMorticia (Thu 14th Oct 2021 4:32pm)
  • I still can't figure out how they actually make a profit. There's two pretty much right next door to each other on Sauchiehall Street on the way up to Forbidden Planet, even on a Saturday afternoon I've never seen them busy. The one closest to the Royal Concert Hall end of Buchannan Galleries is extortionate. by PatriciaMorticia (Sat 16th Oct 2021 4:31pm)
  • Pretty "meh" to be honest considering the amount of talented local artists we have like Hector Guest who has been mentioned by other users. The fact it looks like it's going to shout "Here we, here we, here we fucking gooooooo!" with it's arms in the air is quite funny though. Prefer the wood carvings those chainsaw artists do over this, at least they are more detailed and interesting to look at. by PatriciaMorticia (Mon 25th Oct 2021 8:40pm)
  • I went to the Kings for Chicago and was still in the queue after my entry time of 6pm. Think it's more to give people time to do an LFT test if they're not double vaxxed (I am double vaxxed so no issue for me). Take a print out of your vaccine passport as a back up in case your phone dies, I speak from experience. by PatriciaMorticia (Mon 25th Oct 2021 9:17pm)
  • Why did the grass her to the BBC? She walked to work in hellish weather to carry out cancer patients operations ffs. by PatriciaMorticia (Thu 28th Oct 2021 1:05pm)
  • It's a bit early but after the shite christmas we all had last year I'd say go all out. Seen a few houses near me with christmas window decorations up right after halloween. by PatriciaMorticia (Wed 10th Nov 2021 6:37pm)
  • Soft play centres is one I never thought of until a big soft play centre opened in EK a few years back and within a few months was shut down, rebranded and reopened under a new name. Turned out the owners were dodgy as fuck. by PatriciaMorticia (Sat 13th Nov 2021 4:50pm)
  • Yeah just down the road from it in College Milton. Place being manky every time we took my nephew made me think it was definetly a money laundering spot. by PatriciaMorticia (Sat 13th Nov 2021 10:53pm)
  • It was called Animal Magic when it opened back in 2014 and had snakes and monkeys in glass enclosures (which is kinda fucked up), after about a year they suddenly shut down without warning, completley changed the name of the soft play and it later came out that they were involved with drugs in some form and I'm sure a bit of tax dodging as well. It's in College Milton in East Kilbride, if it is the one you take your wee one to try Lollipop Land in Playsport down at Stewartfield, my nephew loves it in there. by PatriciaMorticia (Sat 13th Nov 2021 10:50pm)
  • I love seeing things like this, the amount of detail that goes into them is impressive. Where did you see it? by PatriciaMorticia (Sun 28th Nov 2021 12:37am)
  • Managed to score two standing tickets for My Chemical Romance at The Hydro next May, absolutley buzzing. Desperate to tell my best friend I got us tickets as we were too young to go last time they played Glasgow, trying to keep the secret until her birthday on christmas day. by PatriciaMorticia (Wed 8th Dec 2021 11:53am)
  • £60 each for standing so quite reasonable. by PatriciaMorticia (Wed 8th Dec 2021 2:36pm)
  • Seriously? My tickets were £55 each, add on £7.45 serive fee and £1.20 facilites charge on each ticket and both came to £127.30 by PatriciaMorticia (Wed 8th Dec 2021 3:00pm)
  • I'm 28 and she's 27, 8 months between us. Last time they came to town was during their Black Parade tour in 2007, our parents wouldn't let us go as they (rightfully) didn't like the idea of their 14 year old daughters being out in Glasgow late at night. by PatriciaMorticia (Wed 8th Dec 2021 9:23pm)
  • Sadly yes, especially for the Hydro in my experience. by PatriciaMorticia (Thu 9th Dec 2021 1:12am)
  • Help The Homeless Glasgow has a collection point at their storage unit in Oakbank Industrial Estate, Garscube Road, Block 1, Unit 6. by PatriciaMorticia (Sun 12th Dec 2021 10:18pm)
  • Can't imagine they make much going round the streets in the dead of Scottish winter. The van that used to come round my street daily for years stopped when the guy running it realised he made more money from parking up outside the local high school during lunchtime. I think the vans that act more like a mini corner shop on wheels would make more money as they have a bigger variety of items to sell that are more in demand. There used to be one that went round Castlemilk at the weekends when I was wee, blew my mind the first time I saw it as a wee lassie. by PatriciaMorticia (Mon 13th Dec 2021 3:37pm)
  • I got my two from the SPCA in Bothwell about 4 years ago but I think most rescue centres are still quite stubborn on the "must have a garden" front. The rescue charities that rescue Romanian strays aren't as strict about a garden, there's one in Rutherglen (I think) called Ruff Start Rescue. Best bet would be to phone round local rescue centres and ask about the need for a garden. On the paperwork front take a form of ID and a bill of some sort as proof of address, we paid our dogs adoption fees in cash but some places may take card payment. Good luck in your search for a wee furry friend, keep us updated if you find one. by PatriciaMorticia (Mon 13th Dec 2021 6:00pm)
  • Clatty bastard, hope they catch him. by PatriciaMorticia (Sun 26th Dec 2021 1:14am)
  • I love going to gigs but I loathe the whole eticket thing. Went to see the Offspring at The Hydro (hate that venue)as my first pre pandemic gig and it was etickets only, my pal I went with was stupud enough to pay the extra for that daft "keepsake ticket" lanyard thing, it didn't even have a cool design on it, just a tiny white square of plastic on a black lanyard. I bought My Chemical Romance tickets for me and my best friend and I'm really annoyed that's also etickets only, that's a holy grail gig for the two of us. Last gig I had a physical ticket for was Pvris at St Lukes & The Winged Ox in Feb 2020 just before the world went to shit. by PatriciaMorticia (Tue 11th Jan 2022 12:07pm)
  • I've never heard any of my tattooed friends say a good word about them. by PatriciaMorticia (Thu 13th Jan 2022 2:36pm)
  • I was wondering what was happening with that. Good thing it's been scrapped, sounds like the area would be more conjested with a drive thru restaurant. I don't understand why drive thru only restaurants seem to be the latest thing, there's plans for a drive thru McDonalds to be built in the car park of the Morrisons at Lindsayfield in East Kilbride and that is not going down well with the locals who'd be living near it quite rightly they're upset at the amount of litter that will be left scattered round the area by wee bams. by PatriciaMorticia (Mon 17th Jan 2022 6:41pm)
  • Hope your mum gets better soon, good on you for looking after her. Try a strawberries and cream frappuccino from Starbucks, it's my go to when I want a cold sweet drink. It's milk, ice and strawberries all blended together with tons of whipped cream on top. Tim Hortons frozen drinks are nice as well, I like their strawberry & chocolate shakes. If she hasn't eaten for five days look into getting her some Ensure nutrition drinks, Boots sell them. Or try and get her Meritene Energis sachets, we used them when I worked in a care home to help residents who hadn't eaten for a period due to illness like your mum, they're little sachets like Nesquick milkshake powder you can pour into water or milk and they're pretty much like a milkshake and very sweet, the vanilla one smells like cake batter and the stawberry one was quite popular with residents that had to use them. You might get them in Boots or Superdrug, Amazon has them as well. by PatriciaMorticia (Sat 22nd Jan 2022 10:09pm)
  • I wonder if it's the same reason Argyle Street just after Sloane's always reeks of shite? by PatriciaMorticia (Mon 24th Jan 2022 3:28pm)
  • Pain Relief Glasgow down in Clarkston is good, got my Uncle an Itison voucher for a 1 hour sports massage in there and he said it was great, they worked really deep into the back and he has issues with his shoulder similar to yourself. by PatriciaMorticia (Mon 24th Jan 2022 3:40pm)
  • New pole for yer maw to dance on? /s by PatriciaMorticia (Fri 28th Jan 2022 11:14pm)
  • I've noticed a decline on the buses, mostly with high school age kids but East Kilbride shopping centre at the weekend was really bad for people not wearing masks. Seen a woman walk in with one in hand and not bothering to put it on and a surprising amount of parents with young kids not wearing a mask. by PatriciaMorticia (Mon 7th Feb 2022 12:51pm)
  • There is no need for that in this day and age. I want to guess it was a group of 12 - 14 year olds thinking they're hard men for mocking an event where lots of people died, but would not be surprised if it was grown men who really should know better. by PatriciaMorticia (Fri 11th Feb 2022 3:31pm)
  • My most recent gig was The Offspring back in Nocember at the Hydro. Mask on going in, show your proof of vaccination with the NHS app and stewards scanned it then in you go. Mask on when movinf around the venue but off when you're drinking or dancing. As soon as everybody was in the arena masks were off and it was like pre covid gigs, felt great to have that breif bit of normality. by PatriciaMorticia (Tue 15th Feb 2022 3:16pm)
  • I've heard Alestorm shows are brilliant, the "row the boat" thing seals it 😂 by PatriciaMorticia (Thu 17th Feb 2022 2:03pm)
  • My first gig was at the Barrowlands back in November 2007 for Within Temptation's The Heart of Everything tour. Brilliant show and brilliant venue, but nobody warned me about the bouncing floor before the show started 😂 by PatriciaMorticia (Thu 17th Feb 2022 2:06pm)
  • I'd say pick somewhere that has special meaning to both of you. If you don't have a place like that fhen the Necropolis would get my vote, lively views of Glasgow from the very top, nice and quiet and would look lovely if you get the snow. by PatriciaMorticia (Thu 17th Feb 2022 9:47pm)
  • Could test the other half's sense of humor and take them to Beir Halle, tell them that's the closest you'll get to going to Germany. by PatriciaMorticia (Thu 17th Feb 2022 10:03pm)
  • My Dad was a taxi driver for years and so is my Uncle, they had to pass a London style knowledge test before becoming taxi drivers. This was years ago mind you so might have changed now. Had a few drivers who know every inch of the city and a few that couldn't figure out the way to the O2 Academy from Glasgow Central. by PatriciaMorticia (Wed 23rd Feb 2022 7:19pm)
  • Sons & Daughters: Gilt Complex Franz Ferdinand: Take Me Out, This Fire, Do You Want To The Fratellis: Chelsea Dagger, Flathead Travis: Why Does It Always Rain On Me, Flowers In The Window Didn't realise how many bands came from Glasgow until reading this thread. by PatriciaMorticia (Thu 24th Feb 2022 11:09pm)

  • Neither did I till I googled it to be sure. by PatriciaMorticia (Fri 25th Feb 2022 10:19am)
  • I'm im EK too and buses are a shit show. The 18 is the only bus that runs from where I stay to where I work, many mornings I've had to hoof it down to where I work to be at my first service user for 7:30 am because two buses haven't showed in the time I've been stood waiting. • Tokyo Toys near the Cathouse would probably have them in. Geek Retreat on Union Street, possibly Forbidden Planet up Sauchiehall Street or Anime Gallery in St Enoch may be other possibile places to get them. by PatriciaMorticia (Sat 12th Mar 2022 12:48pm)

  • For concerts I use the Bands In Town app, for theatre I follow the likes of The Kings Theatre and Royal Concert Hall on facebook. As others have said "The Steamie" in r/Glasgow is also great for finding out what's going on. by PatriciaMorticia (Sun 13th Mar 2022 5:38pm)
  • Congratulations. For a bit of fun and some memorable weddings pics why not give the Boom Battle Bar in St Enoch shopping centre a try? Skeeball, adult arcade, bowling, axe throwing and some drinks would be a fun night. by PatriciaMorticia (Wed 23rd Mar 2022 11:15am)

  • I went to the Waterloo with a few lesbian & bi friends (I'm straight) and found a lot of them in there were quite cliquey and rude which made my friends feel unwelcome, went to Katie's after it, much better atmosphere and way more welcoming feeling. by PatriciaMorticia (Fri 8th Apr 2022 1:27pm)

  • The view from up the high point towards Glasgow is lovelt if you get a clear day. I'm from EK and loved climbing up there as a wee one to see the views. Definetly don't turn the camera round 😂 by PatriciaMorticia (Thu 28th Apr 2022 8:56pm)

  • Football is a huge deal in Scotland, and the city of Glasgow has two major teams who are huge rivals, Celtic Football Club (green and white) and Glasgow Rangers (blue). There's usually a lot of trouble when either team plays, but especially when both teams play each other (what we call The Old Firm). Rangers are playing a cup final in Seville so alot of Rangers fans are out in Glasgow watching the game and a lot of trouble is expected. by PatriciaMorticia (Wed 18th May 2022 9:36pm)
  • Yup and I cannot bloody wait. Surprised my best friend of 16 years with tickets for her birthday/christmas as MCR were the reason we first became friends age 12 and our parents wouldn't let us go see them when the Black Parade tour was on. I'll have plenty of hankies to hand out if any one else thinks they're gonna greet like a wean because I know we will. Just a side note, there's no trains going from Exhibition Centre to Glasgow Central after the show so make alternative arrangements if you can. Had to run from the Hydro to Central after Alice Cooper tonight to make the last train home to East Kilbride. by PatriciaMorticia (Sun 29th May 2022 2:29am)
  • You'll be fine, I walked it from the Hydro to Glasgow Central last night just before Alice Cooper finished and was totally fine (F, 29). The last train to EK at 11:18 was absolutley packed so the bus might be your best bet. There's also no trains from Exhibition Centre to Glasgow Central later in the evening so you'll have plenty of people from the show also walking up the same way. by PatriciaMorticia (Sun 29th May 2022 4:28pm)
  • Has Junction 1 ever sucessfully put on a show they've advertised? Every time I see them mentioned on here it's about another show they've advertised then promptly cancelled at the last minute. by PatriciaMorticia (Tue 7th Jun 2022 5:50pm)
  • It was for Harry Styles at Ibrox, there was a ton of them on the train from EK to Glasgow and wondered wtf was going on. There's was a big crowd of them singing away outside Yo! Sushi across from the blood donor centre which was quite fun to see. by PatriciaMorticia (Sun 12th Jun 2022 11:41am)
  • Went to see Pink at Hampden and security wise was a quick peek in your bag and a pat down so you can definetly sneak drink in. Best one I've seen was one of my pals at gig in the O2 Academy reaching down her knickers and pulling out a hip flask full of vodka, her answer to why she had it down there was "Well they aren't gonnae pat doon ma fanny, are they?" by PatriciaMorticia (Tue 14th Jun 2022 8:29pm)
  • The buses are terrible, I'm in EK and have to use the famously unreliable 18 that shows up when it feels like it to get to and from work, absolute nightmare. Try and track them on the app and they all disappear into thin air. Trains aren't much better, went to a gig at the Hydro and the last train home for my friend that stays in Hamilton was 6pm, on a Saturday night! by PatriciaMorticia (Sat 18th Jun 2022 6:22pm)
  • Walking by PatriciaMorticia (Tue 28th Jun 2022 10:54am)
  • One of the members of an opening act (I think) posted on twitter a photo of a half built stage an hour before the gates opened, I remember seeing it as I was getting ready to leave my house and head for the show. Then there were a lot of rightfully angry fans who were posting on twitter they queued for ages outside the gates only to be told when the gates were meant to open at 4:30pm the show was cancelled. by PatriciaMorticia (Tue 28th Jun 2022 10:59am)
  • This is a great thread OP. Set times have been confirmed going by the email Ticketmaster sent out yesterday. Amyl & The Sniffers: 5pm Weezer: 6.05pm Fall Out Boy: 7:30pm Green Day: 9pm Show ends: 10:30pm by PatriciaMorticia (Wed 29th Jun 2022 12:58pm)
  • It's every hour from what I read, but at the end if rhe show the shuttle doesn't leave until 45 afterwords. by PatriciaMorticia (Wed 29th Jun 2022 1:01pm)
  • Having had to walk from Bellahouston to the city centre due to lack of public transport, get yourself booked on the shuttle service. by PatriciaMorticia (Thu 30th Jun 2022 2:57am)
  • It's seems kind of odd seeing Fall Out Boy and Green Day on the same bill but it works. You might also be a bit clueless about that sort of music. The crowd at the Glasgow show last night was a good mix of Green Day and Fall Out Boy fans. by PatriciaMorticia (Thu 30th Jun 2022 1:05pm)
  • It's great that big acts want to play Glasgow and are also optimistic enough to assume we won't have a torrential downpour of rain in the middle of summer when they play. The downside is the amount of disruption these events can cause to locals and those working in the city when many roads are closed off for it or the parks themselves, and the types of people that some of these shows attract, TRNSMT for example seems to bring out the biggest amount of idiots, and the state of the areas around the green afterwords is quite bad. by PatriciaMorticia (Thu 30th Jun 2022 6:00pm)
  • Going in you won't have any problems transport wise, my friend and I got the 9 bus from outside Glasgow Central train station and it took us right outside the park. I'd say head down as early as you can to get your tickets to avoid the big queues. Oh and Ticketmaster sent us an email for Green Day yesterday saying it was a cashless (card only) event, take cash with you as the card machines couldn't get a signal and that made the mech queue go on so long we missed the whole of the opening act and Weezer were five songs into theor set before we got to the front for merch. My friend said to the merch guy he had cash and poor guy looked so relieved. Getting out of the park at the end of the show there's a good chance you'll miss the buses as we had to walk back to Glasgow city centre due to lack of buses. by PatriciaMorticia (Thu 30th Jun 2022 8:39pm)
  • It probably would have been to do with the signal, we were at the merch stall on the right side of the stage and in the line closest to the stage during opening act and Weezer, our line barely moved but the other two went fast, they might have been the cash only ones. Guy selling the merch in our line was waving the card machine around hoping for a miracle. Even the fod stalls were taking cash as well. Lesson learned for next time for us then, take cash because the card machines will crash. by PatriciaMorticia (Thu 30th Jun 2022 9:24pm)

  • Stop doing: . Getting on a bus and having an argument with the driver over where it goes . Calling the city GlasGOW, it's pronounced Glaz-GO . Standing in the middle of the road to get a picture of the Duke of Wellington statue (Seen a few tourists come close to getting ran over outside GOMA) . Wear blue or green on the day of an Old Firm match . Buy souviners from the tourist tat shops, overpriced and some stuff you can find cheaper elsewhere. Should do: . Get used to hearing "cunt" . Go to the museums and parks . Visit Glasgow Catherderal & The Necropolis . Do the walking tour of the murals and music venues . Download the first bus/Scotrail apps so you know where you are going and what time bues/trains are due (and make alternative plans for when the bus inevitably decides it's not showing) by PatriciaMorticia (Sun 17th Jul 2022 3:31pm)

  • Here's hoping we get it, Eurovision in Glasgow would be a great big party. Can we put a pre emptive ban on Susan Calman hosting it and any non Scottish hosts doing awful "attempts" at a Scottish accent just in case we do get it? Maybe get Lawrence Chaney to host it since he's a big name Scottish drag queen and you can't have Eurovision without a bit of drag and camp. by PatriciaMorticia (Fri 12th Aug 2022 9:27pm)
  • Last time I was there was just before christmas and although it did feel like it has seen better days. I will say it's a damn sight better than East Kilbride shopping centre, I cam remember that being a busy place growing up and now it's a ghost town with so many units left to rot like the three level Debenhams. by PatriciaMorticia (Sun 4th Sep 2022 2:32pm)
  • I've been going to Glasgow comic con at the SEC since 2017 when it was still MCM running it, it was good but felt very hectic. Went to the one back in March that was the first one to be ran by ACME and it was well organised and felt more like a fun gathering of pop culture fans and less commercial than when MCM ran it. I have friends that went to MCM Glasgow and MCM London comic cons and they've all preferred Glasgow as London was to hectic and stressfull, they said Glasgow felt more laid back. Hopefully they'll start to get bigger named guests at Glasgow in coming years. by PatriciaMorticia (Sat 10th Sep 2022 1:33pm)

  • I think they should be banned and only well organised public displays should be allowed. Everyone that wants to can go enjoy a safe display at the likes of Glasgow Green while those of us that don't like them aren't bothered by the noise, and neither are pets, wildlife or people with dementia/PTSD. I used to work in a dementia care home and bonfire night was the worst, poor souls would be running around screaming thinking they were back in the Blitz or back in the war. My poor wee dog is glued to my side and shaking life a leaf with all the racket going on. by PatriciaMorticia (Sat 5th Nov 2022 7:54pm)

  • Either buy the fake tampons off Amazon you can smuggle booze into or use my best friend's tried and tested "fanny flask" method. Hip flask in the gusset of your knickers nice and close to the fanny, no one is gonna pat you down there and this method worked for sneaking booze into My Chemical Romance at the Hydro. by PatriciaMorticia (Thu 17th Nov 2022 12:22am)

  • My mum always talks about the old uncovered subway station at St Enoch when we're in town, and that it also used to be a bus termial when she was growing up in the 70's, need to show her these. • Theaten legal action and that might light a fire under their arse, failing that name and shame so other bands and artists kniw to avoid the scamming, sleekit bastards. • I used to love it as a kid. Back in 2004 it felt like a proper fun day out with plenty of rides, attractions, the arcades, good few food options (RIP Wimpy and the cool 50's diner style seating area) and you also had all the indoor bits for when the weather inevtiably turned. Going back recently with my nephew who's 9 and had never been, he loved it and had a ball. His mum didn't grow up here so she never witnessed the place in it's "glory days", it was quite depressing pointing out all the bits that used to be great that had turned to shit. The two arcades have definetly seen better days, half the machines were out of order and the carpet was threadbare in some bits. During the summer season last year they were advertising new rides like the Condor, but it was shit most of the day. They need to get somebody in who will invest the money to make it worthy of the "Scotland's Theme Park" title. by PatriciaMorticia (Sun 7th May 2023 1:32pm)

  • Haven't they just added the new cinema, restaurant & leisure bits in the past few years? Seems a bit daft to tear down something they put a lot of money into. If there's any shopping centre that should be razed to the ground it's East Kilbride shopping centre, it's an absolute ghost town with so many empty units, the three floor Debenhams being shut makes it even more desolate looking. by PatriciaMorticia (Fri 26th May 2023 6:24pm)

  • "I've never had the sit in experience" you aren't missing much, majority of McDonalds are now prioritizing Deliveroo, Uber Eats & Just Eat orders over actual customers in store wanting to dine in. • I've been to the Hydro for plenty of shows, you'll be fine to go out and come back in but you might encounter the occassional arsey security guard who says you can't. Was there with a friend for My Chemical Romance and after we bought merch during the opening act we went to put it in her car and got back in without issue. If your ticket is on the ticketmaster app remember to refresh it when you're going back in or it'll say it's not a valid ticket, had that happen recently at a show but security said refresh it and it'll be fine. by PatriciaMorticia (Tue 20th Jun 2023 4:32pm)
  • I'm glad to see this is still going, my dad was a taxi driver for years and loved taking part in this. by PatriciaMorticia (Wed 21st Jun 2023 3:11pm)
  • You can queue up really early day of and have a chance at barrier. I've been to tons of shows at the hydro and there's always a few people waiting from dead early on to get to the front, when I saw Panic! At The Disco there in 2019 there was a huge crowd of people camping out in the tunnel leading down to it. I don't think it's worth it as you usually have VIP entry for the artist at door A, Hydro Club guests at the main door who get priority and round the other side is the priority entry for Ovo customers so your chances aren't great. by PatriciaMorticia (Wed 21st Jun 2023 3:38pm)
  • From my experience with the Ovo entry you're supposed to get in an hour before general entry, so 6:30 pm if general entry is 7:30pm but the past few shows I've been to (Lizzo & Panic! At The Disco in March) the security is always poorly organised and for Lizzo we got in 5 minutes before the general entry. If you power walk as soon as the door open for you then you'll make barrier, did that for both shows and was right at the barrier. by PatriciaMorticia (Wed 21st Jun 2023 4:15pm)
  • My friend and I walked back from Bellahouston to Glasgow Central after Hella Mega (Green Day, Fall Out Boy & Weezer), you'll be fine as there's always a huge crowd leaving the park to head back up for trains. by PatriciaMorticia (Fri 23rd Jun 2023 8:30am)
  • I've been to tons of concerts in Glasgow by myself and have met loads of people in lines waiting to go in or in line for meet & greets. I've been to Alice Cooper, Pvris, All Time Low, Set It Off, Within Temptation & Evanescence co headlining tour by myself and chatted away to people. Glasgow is a friendly place and the crowd and rock & metal shows from my experiences are full of lovely people, I had a wee Canadian granny tell me to stay with her and her daughter in the foyer after the Evanescence VIP when she found out I was there myself, she was horrified I was there on my own, moreso when I said I saw Alice Cooper by myself. by PatriciaMorticia (Fri 23rd Jun 2023 9:47am)
  • I'm not very fit and can't do a push up to save myself but I've started going to aqua aerobics classes & beginners yoga with a friend from work at the Nuffield Health in East Kilbride, both classes are really accessable for beginners and a great atmosphere. Surely they'd do an aqua aerobics at one of the Glasgow council pools? by PatriciaMorticia (Fri 23rd Jun 2023 7:20pm)
  • Are fucking sick of that bloody advart and Susan Calman to boot! by PatriciaMorticia (Fri 23rd Jun 2023 7:25pm)
  • Avoid Rock N Roll tattoo, they don't have a great reputation in the tattoo community and my friend is still in dispute with them over a botched tattoo and constant last minute cancellations for her appointments to fix it. by PatriciaMorticia (Fri 23rd Jun 2023 7:53pm)
  • That really winds me up as it means having to leave gigs early if I want to make the last train back to Central. You'd think at the weekends they'd have a later train at least. It's got to the point I've actually contemplated booking a hotel near the Hydro if I'm going to a show there so I don't have to worry about making it for the train back to EK. by PatriciaMorticia (Sat 24th Jun 2023 9:51am)
  • Been to many shows at the Garage and it's a great place for gigs, last one I saw there was The Rasmus and it was a brilliant show. by PatriciaMorticia (Mon 26th Jun 2023 11:37am)
  • You've waited 40 years, you'll have a ball. Metal gigs in the Hydro are quite fun. by PatriciaMorticia (Mon 26th Jun 2023 11:35am)
  • I did wonder as there were a crowd of Americans at the table beside us in Weatherspoons last night kitted out in cowboy hats and boots, they were going to see The (formerly known as Dixie) Chicks at the Hydro. Though Harry Styles was back in town but there wasn't a feather boa or pink cowboy hat to be seen. by PatriciaMorticia (Thu 29th Jun 2023 4:56pm)
  • My best friends go to for sneaking drink into gigs is to smuggle a hip flask in the gusset of her knickers, has never failed in the oast few gigs we've went to. We've also used those fake tampons you fill with booze, one in the bag the rest tucked under the boobs in the bra. by PatriciaMorticia (Mon 3rd Jul 2023 1:53pm)
  • Since they've updated it it's a pain in the backside to try and figure out how to track a bus coming to your stop and when you figure it out the bus can show as being 5 stops away when in reality it's only one stop away. The previous version was much better and more user friendly for tracking a bus. by PatriciaMorticia (Mon 3rd Jul 2023 9:37pm)
  • That was nice, I love it when a wee thing like that really boosts your spirit. Get yourself back here and see the sights you missed, we'll gladly be your tour guides. by PatriciaMorticia (Wed 5th Jul 2023 5:17pm)
  • Those are some brilliant pics, what kind of camera did you use? The line up isn't my kinda music but I hope everyone going has a ball. by PatriciaMorticia (Sat 8th Jul 2023 2:35pm)
  • Was thatthe guy they put up flyers in Castlemilk about? I remember seeing them on here. by PatriciaMorticia (Fri 14th Jul 2023 9:25am)
  • 🐍🐍🐍 Snakes everywhere hun by PatriciaMorticia (Sat 29th Jul 2023 10:12pm)
  • St Luke's beside the Barrowlands is dog friendly. Seen lots of people in the Winged Ox bar & restaurant bit with their pups when going to gigs in the main building. Their website has a dog of the week bit which is cute. by PatriciaMorticia (Tue 1st Aug 2023 7:39pm)
  • They bastards shouldn't be allowed to spew their shite in the streets, and scrraming at a woman with cancer that sin causes cancer, how did the husband resist the urge to knock fuck out of him? by PatriciaMorticia (Sat 5th Aug 2023 2:58pm)
  • Help The Homeless Glasgow, they have tables set up outside the M & S on Argyle Street every saturday night with hot food and boxes of donated clothes those in need can help themselves to. by PatriciaMorticia (Mon 7th Aug 2023 2:51pm)
  • Biggest gig ick is getting excited when a band or artist I like announces a Glasgow show and it's in the bloody Hydro, place feels void of any soul and cheeky bastards want £3 odds for a bottle of water. And past three gigs I've been to there the Ovo customer priority entry didn't let us in until 5 mins before general entry. by PatriciaMorticia (Tue 8th Aug 2023 11:15pm)
  • That is a majestic floof. by PatriciaMorticia (Tue 22nd Aug 2023 9:13pm)

  • If you live in an area you tend to be in your own wee bubble and don't think of the place as somewhere tourists would want to come. I got talking to a couple from Chicago when I went to see Evanescence and Within Temptation at the Hydro last year and asked them what brought them over besides the concert. Historic buildings, the scenery, Loch Lomond and the music & art scene were there answers. It was quite fun to see Glasgow from a tourists perspective, gave them a few places to visit and recommended the mural trail for the art, especially the ones of Billy Connolly. by PatriciaMorticia (Wed 27th Sep 2023 6:13pm)
  • I've seen All Time Low in the Armadillo I'd say I prefer it to the Hydro for gigs. by PatriciaMorticia (Sun 1st Oct 2023 6:18pm)
  • I don't like the place as it feels empty and devoid of soul. My favourite memories of the place are when I surprised my best friend with VIP tickets for Avenged Sevenfold's "The Stage" tour and we had a ball, also saw My Chemical Romance there with my best friend which was huge for us as we love them but our parents wouldn't let us go see them on previous tours years back, managed to keep that a secret for a good six months. by PatriciaMorticia (Sun 1st Oct 2023 6:26pm)
  • My Dad used to drive those buses before I was born, so odd seeing green, white and gold buses instead of the shitty FirstBus ones. by PatriciaMorticia (Sat 21st Oct 2023 8:42pm)
  • We did that when I was at Brownies years ago, was always a good laugh. by PatriciaMorticia (Wed 25th Oct 2023 7:06pm)
  • Garbage has a female singer, Shirley Manson but TRNSMT has always been void of female artists in headliner slots. by PatriciaMorticia (Tue 21st Nov 2023 9:12pm)
  • TRNSMT is always a sausage fest in terms of artists, they're excuse will be "But Garbage has a lady singer, that totally counts!" Wish they'd switch it up a little, Garbage and Enter Shikari are odd choices but I do like them. by PatriciaMorticia (Tue 21st Nov 2023 9:11pm)
  • I volunteered with Help The Homeless Glasgow pre covid and follow their work on facebook, a lot of the service users I spoke to hated HPS as they said they wouldn't give them basic things like sleeping bags without getting a picture of them to put on their social media to show what they'd done. by PatriciaMorticia (Thu 23rd Nov 2023 6:38pm)
  • You could post on some of the local homeless charity facebook pages, I've seen a few people post on the Help The Homeless Glasgow facebook page looking for loved ones in similar circumstances. As others have said also contact Simon Community Project and leave contact details for your friend to reach you, sometimes people can be in a bad place and not want to reach out to friends and loved ones. by PatriciaMorticia (Sun 26th Nov 2023 4:34pm)
  • That's a great idea, I've searched my area and seen there's a local community larder I donate to that isn't on there, how do we add to it? by PatriciaMorticia (Fri 1st Dec 2023 6:55pm)
  • I love it when it's just fresh fallen, loathe it when it turns to slush and freezes up. I'm working in it and feels nice and christmassy. by PatriciaMorticia (Sat 2nd Dec 2023 10:52am)
