  • Have you tried codebar? I think the glaswegian chapter is more active now, they didn't use to be. by glitchybitchy (Thu 17th Jan 2019 8:40pm)
  • This may differ from place to place? I was given Diazepam and I didn’t even ask for it. I had been struggling with anxiety for years though, so maybe it was prescribed because I had an extensive history of trial and errors with a variety of anti anxiety and anti depressants. by glitchybitchy (Mon 21st Jan 2019 5:40pm)
  • You might not like to hear this but I’m gonna say it anyways. I’ve had anxiety for nearly 20 years and sadly it’s a very trial and error thing when it comes to meds, there’s not much way around it. Everyone just reacts differently to the medication. I personally didn’t get on with Propanalol because although it worked for a while it gave me heart flutters which is a common side effect. I wouldn’t suggest Diazepam or Pregablin as they are habit inducing and to be honest when I was on Diazepam I didn’t feel like it helped that much. I spent almost a decade switching meds but for now it seems like Venlafaxine (the slow release capsules) is doing the job well. I still get some degree of anxiety but it’s manageable. I think the main thing is be patient and try the medication for at least a month. If you’re having bad panic attacks and such than tell your GP and he might prescribe something else in addition to try and treat those episodes separately. This may well end up being Diazepam but I would really use it sparingly. Hope this helps! by glitchybitchy (Mon 21st Jan 2019 5:52pm)

  • why........... why is Chico Buarque on this? This is fantastic. by glitchybitchy (Sun 17th Feb 2019 5:12pm)
  • I’m not saying this post is advocating for this but I HATE this fucking idea disabled people can’t have nice things. My partner has a chronic pain condition and we have a medium sized 4x4 precisely because he cannot afford to be without a car in snowy weather as he has difficulty walking. Also the driving position and comfort getting in and out of the car were huge deciding factors. Also because we’re young we get tons of death glare from old people and moms. Fuck that. by glitchybitchy (Tue 26th Feb 2019 12:25pm)
  • Whenever I hear people taking about dog poisoning more often than not it turns out to be a rumour. Where I lived in the south it got so bad the police had to issue formal statements saying that there were no reported cases. Upon investigating police found that rumours had started on a facebook neighbourhood group from an area on the other side of the country. I really do hope it's just some form of hysteria or a really awful coincidence because my dogs are like hoovers when it comes to finding food outside... I'll be keeping a closer eye regardless... by glitchybitchy (Thu 28th Feb 2019 6:20pm)
  • A lot of people just take whatever trash they find back with them from nature walks, they just don’t fucking post on it for magic internet points.... I’m just saying by glitchybitchy (Mon 11th Mar 2019 12:55pm)
  • I originally signed up because I wanted the option to use the swimming pool, and to be honest it’s vastly exceeded my expectations. The training staff is always friendly and super helpful regardless of skill level, the machines integrate with my Apple Watch which I find helps me keep track and stay motivated, the variety of activities is pretty great although I mostly stick to gym sessions and yoga. The trainig staff were also really helpful in making small changes to get the most out of my workout or to adjust for some of my joint problems which limit my ability to do certain exercises. I’ve never liked the gym, I always preferred sports but now I really look forward to it. by glitchybitchy (Fri 15th Mar 2019 9:43pm)
  • This is adorable... hope she keeps going! by glitchybitchy (Thu 21st Mar 2019 9:00pm)
  • I think it's appalling to ask people to pay for £85/year for a permit to park their car on their street. Specially on my street that rarely gets cleaned properly, had a bin taken away and has the shittiest internet provision in Glasgow. But maybe that's just me. Of course these things are not directly related but having vital services being taken away or generally lacking and having then to pay extra for the "privilege" of parking on your own road is just shite. by glitchybitchy (Mon 3rd Jun 2019 10:17pm)
  • I don't really see how being able to park close to their homes has a negative effect on people. I certainly don't think adding a yearly fee is going to improve their lives, certainly not for people who depend on their cars to work. If you want to make peoples lives better you invest in infrastructure and social security, not add some random fee that won't get invested back into the system. This is exactly the reason why this is so annoying, instead of fixing the wider problem they're covering it up with a non-solution that has punitive measures for people that actually live here. I don't mean this as an attack on you personally but to be honest I think the argument "but think of the poor, disabled, old" is a tad lazy. It's often used as a generic blanket statement that fails to empathise with the very same people they claim to protecting. What happens to a disabled person heavily reliant on their car? What about a family that now has an extra payment to cover, is that really in benefit of the child? by glitchybitchy (Tue 4th Jun 2019 7:35am)
  • > Public transport investment **only** works when there is a disincentive for normal people to choose to drive instead. Otherwise, it's like paddling upstream. I don't think I've seen any data to corroborate your statement above. In fact if you look at cities who are at the forefront of pedestrian and cycling initiatives like Copenhagen, Oslo, Amsterdam, Paris, Madrid and even London, they are all cities that invested heavily in public transport or already had extensive public transport before banning cars. Does Glasgow have a good enough public system to fill that gap at the moment? Not in my opinion, no. I'm not against restricting cars, but I don't think Glasgow has the necessary infrastructure for that at the moment. > Car-discouragement schemes do not aim to take them away from disabled people with blue badges. If anything, life gets easier for blue badge holders when fewer other people are driving around. I never said that it aims to take cars away. Unfortunately, parking for disabled people in permit zones is a pain in the ass as you are not allowed to use blue badges in permit holder bays. This proves my point, the idea of more space for disabled people to park is sound, but people don't understand that that's not reality, which is why I think the whole argument is lazy. It's an argument that makes you look good and sound empathetic but really people don't care much to know what day to day struggles people with disabilities face. by glitchybitchy (Tue 4th Jun 2019 9:15pm)
  • For clarity found on West Nile but contains a return ticket so I’m assuming whoever lost it will return to the station. EDIT: the station won’t take the wallet because of some policy bullshit so it will be handed over to Police Scotland. by glitchybitchy (Mon 24th Jun 2019 9:13am)
  • Yeah pal, they'll understand you just fine... Glaswegian are, generally speaking, lovely people. Don't go wearing football colours around unless you know what you're getting yourself into, though. I'm also brazilian and I've been living here for a while now, struggled a bit in the beginning but you get used to it pretty fast. by glitchybitchy (Sun 14th Jul 2019 3:04pm)
  • What does one do about neds that keep burning plastic bins on the kelvin walk? Every fucking day I end up picking up trash, which I don’t even mind, aside for the obvious fact that people are scummy, but burning bins is just fucking stupid, dangerous and likely produces noxious gases from burning the plastic. by glitchybitchy (Thu 18th Jul 2019 12:22pm)

  • Aye was particularly busy, I've been avoiding it as some really narrow bits make it unavoidable to get close to people. Kelvingrove was particularly busy, I'd say there was a solid 60/40 split between people being conscious and people taking the piss. Like I get that people need to come out for exercise but there were people purely out just hanging about. by glitchybitchy (Tue 7th Apr 2020 8:32am)
  • For the love of god people, it's the middle of a pandemic and you're still walking your dog off the lead? Fuck sake honestly, then you look at my dog like he's some kind of monster when gets excited and barks... he wouldn't hurt a fly but he's an excitable large dog, THAT'S WHY IT'S ON THE FUCKING LEAD. Stop letting little Fifi run up to it bark at it. Also NO you cannot pet him... there's a pandemic, are you daft? Am I on crazy pills? by glitchybitchy (Tue 7th Apr 2020 8:37am)
  • Oh no that sounds awful. I hope you're getting some time off over easter at least and manage to do something relaxing. Hope it doesn't come to this but remember it's ok to put in a noise a complaint with police, it might seem like a silly non issue but sleep has a huge impact on our health and your mental shouldn't be compromised because someone is being inconsiderate. by glitchybitchy (Fri 10th Apr 2020 8:16am)

  • As a designer I like to think that it’s because most of us want nothing to do with the sort and are more likely to be left leaning. Also fully support the use of such terrible typeface so that it remains horribly illegible and hopefully everyone sympathising with it can’t find the information. by glitchybitchy (Tue 23rd Jun 2020 12:04am)
  • Honestly people have given grate educational ideas so far. However, I do agree that fines should be in place and that police and public servants should be trained for this as well. I lived in 5 different countries and I've not seen littering as bad as Glasgow although some areas outside of Glasgow are also badly affected. Many countries have heavy fines for littering and it is effective as long as law enforcement is trained on how to deal with it. I think for nature walks and parks an interesting idea would be a system where people can deposit trash and collect tokens towards a reward. That being said I really think this needs a proper lobbying group as there's a variety of very effective approaches that could help that simply can't be put in place without appropriate policies. Rubbish collection in Glasgow is SHOCKINGLY bad. That alongside with government pressuring supermarkets and manufacturers to reduce unnecessary packaging are things that are desperately needed. by glitchybitchy (Tue 23rd Jun 2020 9:09am)
  • Sorry you're going through this, migraines are horrible. I suffered from them when I was younger until I got prescribed antidepressants/ anti anxiety medication. This is definitely something your GP can explore if they haven't already. by glitchybitchy (Sat 4th Jul 2020 8:48am)
  • Ugh that's tragic... I'm so done with people letting their dogs run around like mad. I have two VERY large dogs, I keep them on the lead because although they are 100% harmless, and I really mean harmless, their size tends to scare other dogs and young children. My dogs have been attacked by smaller dogs twice just this week because people let their yappy little things run up to them but they inevitably get scared when my dog tries to play with them. If the scene was reversed I'd get a fucking earful about letting my dog off the lead and how big and scary it is. I had a stupid little sausage dog attack my dog and I was honestly terrified that my dog was just going to squish it by accident. I also find this specially annoying when jogging or cycling. If it's a shared cycle-pedestrian path put your dog on the lead... it's not rocket science. by glitchybitchy (Sat 4th Jul 2020 12:30pm)

  • Avoid times when people are getting out of work and lunch time and you should be fine. I went at 15:00 and got in less than 5 mins but when I came out the queue was all the way down the parking lot. A lot of things are out of stock so maybe check the website on the day you're going. Inside was mostly ok although they did let a bottle neck form at the stairs which was a bit of bad management really. by glitchybitchy (Sun 12th Jul 2020 9:51am)

I've had a free lesson and made a deposit for the rest of the course. Just be aware that there's a massive backlog for driving tests in general. by glitchybitchy (Tue 15th Sep 2020 1:00pm)
  • There are tons of nice rides on Komoot. I'd recommend the ride to Balloch on the 7, or riding the canals towards Falkirk by glitchybitchy (Tue 29th Sep 2020 5:48pm)

  • Heya I'm pretty flexible on time but longer rides need to be done at the weekend. I'm in the West End but sometimes I take the cycle path to Glasgow Green just to get some laps in. I want to try and be more regular with my rides so whatever keeps me going. My regular loop (kelvin walk - canals to clydebank - kelvingrove park) at the moment is about 14 miles and my pace is somewhere around 12/13mph which is what I want to improve. I'm pretty new to cycling in general so I find it hard to find the right cadence atm. by glitchybitchy (Fri 6th Nov 2020 12:07pm)

  • Sup pal? I’m having a shite time too :( by glitchybitchy (Tue 12th Jan 2021 12:32pm)
  • Aye, I get you. I’m honestly at my limit now. After breaking off a 10 year relationship being utterly alone is a bit of a shock. And yeah I feel ridiculously lucky that I still have a job but at the same time it does now feel like life is work and exercise. I’m especially annoyed that we can’t even do that properly anymore. I like long cycles and now can’t venture further than 5 miles which is shite. Quite frankly I think restricting exercise is stupid. If people want to walk up a hill within their buble they should be able to, there’s no reason for restricting that. Exercise is the only source of coping mechanism I have left for dealing with pretty crippling clinical depression and GAD. So now I get to be angry on top of being sad and anxious! Yay! Honestly I think the government needs to take the impact of lockdowns on mental health into serious consideration. This year has pushed me back into self harm and suicidal thoughts and unfortunately I have had acquaintances that committed suicide. I got referred by my GP to Psychiatry only to be promptly discharged and turned down. I understand restrictions are necessary but lets not pretend this is sustainable. That all being said I’m not even that social and I can’t imagine what it’s like for people that like to be around others all the time. I wish I had a positive message to leave you with but all I can say is that this fucking sucks. by glitchybitchy (Tue 12th Jan 2021 7:59pm)
  • Another good shout is trail running shoes. I got a pair of Adidas Agravic and I was able to run on sheet ice last week without incident. You can also change your technique a bit, think that you're trying to step as lightly as possible, it'll be slower than normal, but it seems to work for me. by glitchybitchy (Wed 13th Jan 2021 8:52pm)
  • huh, I've been wanting to get there for a while but I'm not confident enough to ride in traffic. Would you be able to find the cycle path start on google maps and post a link? It would be greatly appreciated, I can't seem to find it on sustrans. by glitchybitchy (Sat 16th Jan 2021 8:26am)

  • Just a PSA the cycle path is currently flooded just before Dumbarton. Better to get off it at the travelodge/ services and take a wee bit of road and get back on it. by glitchybitchy (Wed 24th Feb 2021 2:35pm)
  • As many people have stated cycling is totally fine, I would avoid the canals if you can unless you're planning to hit them early to avoid crowds, it's harder to distance and there are more pedestrians using it than at normal times and they're really not particularly aware of cyclists even though it's a national cycle route. If you're planning to head east on the canals be warned that there are a fuck ton of closures from Falkirk onwards with no diversion instructions. If you have a gravel/ hybrid or mtb you can go to Milngavie and do some of the west highland way, some of it you might need to push your bike but in general up until Rowerdennan the path is pretty accessible for most skill levels and you get a good break from the city . by glitchybitchy (Fri 5th Mar 2021 6:50am)

  • Moths have been getting worse where I am. Last year they cost me a big wool rug :( make sure you check around the feet of your furniture where the vaccum cleaner can’t reach if you have carpets or rugs. Keep an eye for eggs in your wardrobe and clean it thoroughly. You can buy cedar wood hangers to use in a wardrobe which they apparently dislike. That and traps to try and stop them reproducing are the only thing that has worked so far. I still see some around though. by glitchybitchy (Mon 10th May 2021 1:52pm)

Not to mention Tories deliberately trying to stifle climate change action. Oh yeah and all the cost of living ceisis. What in the actual fuck is going on? I’m not normally one to let news get to me, I know good news doesn’t make good press. I don’t really know what my point is to be honest… sorry. • I work in the industry although not for an energy company. Smart meters are harmless and give you transparency over your bills, they will also make your bills more accurate and avoid you getting a giant catch up bill. The reason energy suppliers are pucshing them is not so much because it benefits them and more because the government is up their asses trying to get these rolled out. Ultimately they’re just saving you the hassle of submitting a meter read manually. I think the reason people don’t like them is probably more to do with bill shock than the meter themselves. For instance if you decided to get one but had been neglecting to give your energy readings regularly your supplier would have been estimating your bills, and then you get a thing that gives readings regularly and accurately and oopsy turns out you had used way more energy so you accumulated a massive bill. Now you get angry and blame the smart meter when in fact the lack or readings was the issue to begin with. • Ugh moths are an absolute pain. Check your wardrobe, carpets and rugs. If they have signs of being eaten You need to thoroughly clean them as moth eggs and larvae are tiny and your likely to miss some. If they’re in your clothes just wash ALL OF IT. As for carpets and rugs either steam the fuck out of them or get rid of them. Pay special attention to hard to reach areas like under the sofa, around the sofa legs. As someone mentioned they only eat natural fibers like cotton, wool, etc… Someone on here mentioned them nesting in the eaves and it made me realise it hadn’t occurred to me to check my chimney, I don’t have a fire but I know the chimney is open because there’s some airflow. I’ve not managed to get rid of them in my flat unfortunately, the cedar stuff made very little difference, so potentially chemicals are the way to go. Good luck :( by glitchybitchy (Wed 11th May 2022 7:05am)
  • Honestly ASOS is pretty good for party dresses, they have a ton of choice, they do next day delivrey, and they have a good return policy (meaning you can order multiple things and return them if they don’t work). I actually bought my wedding dress off of ASOS during the pandemic when you couldn’t try on dresses in shops and I absolutely love it. by glitchybitchy (Sat 21st May 2022 6:58pm)
  • I’ve worked in tech for 8 years now, salaries are increasing year by year cause the demand is just insane. There’s such a wide variety of work as well, from creative roles in design to hard maths in data driven fields. • I love the people of Glasgow so much… when I first moved here I was walking my dog late at night mid winter. Dark as fuck. Dodgy looking black van approaches…. I keep my eye on it. It starts to slow down. Three lads in the front, smoking windows down, neck tattoos. Me being female I immediately think “fuckfuckfuck I’m either getting my dog stolen, being kidnapped or worse”. Van slows right down and the lads start asking me questions… what breed is it? What do you feed it? Whats the dogs name? I reply curtly but I’m not rude. Don’t want to piss them off. The van slows down to near stop. I’m thinking “ok motherfucker you wanna take my dog it’s not gonna be without a fight.” Van door slides open… I clench my keys between my fingers. There was a man in the back of the van…………. with a puppy They had a puppy the same breed as my dog and in the van and they slowed down to show me the puppy. 🤣 Went from terrifying to wholesome in record time. by glitchybitchy (Sun 29th May 2022 3:59pm)

He’s always on lead because big dogs tend to freak out smaller dogs. Apparently the courtesy is not fucking mutual. I just wan to walk my soppy old man with an injury in peace without nearly being attacked. • As previously stated a decent pair of waterproof shoes is a must. For coats I find that the stuff that is simply waterproof isn’t enough to keep me dry and warm. I got a waterproof that is more like a soft shell, which means it’s sort of fleeced on the side inside. It doesn’t get suuuuper cold in Glasgow but I have very sensitive ears so I rely on ear warmers a lot. You’ll see a lot of people wearing puffy jackets, that’s because they’re light weight and comfortable and very useful but they tend not to be waterproof. Personally I don’t bother with heavy coats, i think layers make it a lot easier to manage the changeable weather. by glitchybitchy (Sun 28th Aug 2022 2:12pm)
  • Ever thought about graphic design or user experience design? They’re both creative fields with a significant demand. UX (user experience) is in huge demand and is new enough as a career that there are plenty of free training online. UX also pays extremely well. A lot of places will love for you to have previous experience in other areas like music etc. Graphic design is a bit different, there’s plenty of demand but it’s definitely worse paid and employers generally take the piss because they know it’s a “cool career”. Also if you’re interested in music and tv/ media look up trc media they provide a bunch of training opps in that field and they normally involve paid, learn on the job type of roles and other pretty cool programs. by glitchybitchy (Mon 29th Aug 2022 6:19pm)

  • Just wanted to add to this by saying that doing something you used to love can feel really weird and unnatural. When I was in a really bad place I just couldn’t enjoy anything, everything felt like a chore even things I thought I loved. This weirdly made me feel even worse because I saw it as a sign that it really wasn’t worth living if I can’t even find enjoyment in the things I thought I’d love. I thought I was the problem. I did two things to get through it: one was give watever it was I was doing a bit of time to fall back in love with it. It might not be instant and you might actually need to make yourself do it. So I had given some of my old hobbies a fair go and I was still struggling, then I realised that it’s totally ok to outgrow hobbies and things, sometimes even friends! So what I did next was just try something completely different and new. So in the end I ended up rekindling my love for some old hobbies, dropping others entirely and getting totally into something new. Hope this helps! by glitchybitchy (Thu 15th Sep 2022 8:58pm)

  • I’m actually curious, what are people thoughts regarding the “Don’t Pay” campaign? Anyone signed up? I was thinking about this since I work in the energy sector. I thought about cancelling my direct debit (I would still have the option to pay my bill manually so that I wouldn’t have a missed payment on my credit report). I know for a fact that having people on Direct Debit is a massively important KPI for energy companies, so cancelling that would definitely make them squirm. BUT I then realise my supplier is just an energy retailer, they don’t actually produce energy, so I wonder whether putting pressure on energy retailers would have the opposite effect, i.e.: if retailers go under, there’s less competition and that results in the same players getting more of the market share. On the other hand I wonder if this would increase pressure for government to intervene. So yeah…. I don’t have any conclusions to this in any way shape or form. Just wondering what people’s thoughts are. by glitchybitchy (Fri 30th Sep 2022 8:47am)

But after being in a road rage incident that was dragged through court for 4 fuckin years and being cited to attend court as a witness 7 times, all 7 times the case was adjourned after I sat there and waited for hours on end (some days from 9am to 3pm) I can’t say I’d recommend it. It’s shit because it definitely made think very seriously before reporting anything to the police, despite knowing that in the end it’s probably the right thing to do. Very much a no good deed goes unpunished sorta feeling. by glitchybitchy (Sat 1st Oct 2022 7:33pm)

You’ll probably find a huge asian community in Glasgow and while that might be great and in your comfort zone, you’ll miss out if you don’t make friends with locals and other nationalities. In my experience as a student in the UK I’ve seen a lot of asian students that don’t really interact much with others and I always think what a shame that is. by glitchybitchy (Thu 27th Oct 2022 7:59am)

  • I have a pair of Adidas Terrex that are really great. I’m on my second pair. Don’t bother with the fancy mountain ones with lots fancy things on the outer sole, I think mine are for trail running. You’re looking for the ones with reasonably flat looking Continental soles. Flatter/ plainer soles have larger contact area which I find gives me more grip. I decided to get my second pair when I went for a run at -2 and made it back alive. I also hear Ecco are good on frosty conditions but they are pricey whereas at least you can find the adidas stuff on sale from past seasons. by glitchybitchy (Tue 6th Dec 2022 8:13am)

  • If you’re totally inexperienced with therapy keep in mind that the first thing you try might not be for you and that’s totally fine. You will find something that does. There are some places in Glasgow where you can get therapy at a reduced rate if you have sessions with a person who’s in training. While that can in fact be effective and appealing for some I really don’t recommend it for anyone with trauma. I got an inexperienced therapist that probed a bit too much into some traumatic experiences and I literally ran away and never came back to that place again. I eventually found a different therapist with an entirely different specialism and that really worked for me. by glitchybitchy (Thu 22nd Dec 2022 9:52pm)

  • Holy fuck. I went down Balmore road on my bike on the way to a house viewing. Lovely house but decided against it as commuting by bike on that road would be horrendous. Just as we were heading back into town my husband and I got shouted at for absolutely no good reason. Literally for just being on the road. Glasgow is definitely gonna have to do something about driving attitudes if we are to have a decent system that isn’t car based. Come to think about it Glasgow is the only place I’ve ever lived where I was not only witness but also a victim of road rage. Literally had never seen people get out of their cars and have a fist fight on the street before. by glitchybitchy (Mon 13th Feb 2023 6:53pm)

  • Is there really? In my head when I think about that road I just think about construction sites and not much else. I guess I never really had a need to take that particular road that often, which is why it seems odd to me. I just imagine there would other more impactful roads for that sort of stuff. There’s so many roads outside of the city centre that could do with a revamp to bring new life to it and actually stop people feeling like they have to come to the city centre (often by car) to get decent retail options. But that’s just like my opinion man. by glitchybitchy (Fri 3rd Mar 2023 6:19pm)

  • I can’t say I have good things to say about the School of Innovation unfortunately. It was very poorly organised and some supervisors using student research to get ahead. The whole time I was there was quite frankly a shitshow although I’ve heard taught degrees were better (mine was a research degree). The whole experience really left me with a rather low opinion of the GSA. As for the Forres campus, it did seem nice but also a bit isolated. I wasn’t based there but went to visit for the winter school which did seem like a cool event for people on taught degrees. They actually forgot my cohort existed so it wasn’t super fun for me. I think the lack of structure and disorganisation coupled with isolation of being in Forres might prove challenging, but honestly that’s just my opinion. If you’re worried you could enquire if you can arrange to spend at least some time in Glasgow or you can arrange it yourself privately. I hope you have a better experience than I did, best of luck. by glitchybitchy (Tue 4th Apr 2023 2:51pm)

  • Heya always happy to make a cycling pal. You might want to give a bit more detail about yourself here and people might reach out. I’ve met a couple of cyclists on here in the past. Like what sort of cycling do you like, a bit about yourself, like what are your other interests etc… Anyways, I’m a 36 year old lady nerd, I like artsy shit but not in a snobby way. I’ll take any excuse to be outdoors. I’m fairly fit and I can ride around 60 miles depending on terrain. More like 40 for gravel. (Not saying rides need to be that long just a reference for fotness/ endurance really) I prefer casual relaxed rides away from roads but happy to go on quiet roads. I’m really not particularly fast. I’m also in the south side. Fell free to DM if you want to meet for a coffee! by glitchybitchy (Sun 16th Apr 2023 7:53am)

  • Hi there, I work in finance. You might want to check with your bank or Equifax if your address is up to date as this might impact your credit score. If you registered to vote thats already a good step but will take a few weeks to update. The good news is that Royal Mail is not the only address API out there (for instance Equifax has their own) so there are services that might find you. But definitely speak to the council. by glitchybitchy (Tue 23rd May 2023 12:50pm)
  • No worries, just further point on this. For credit purposes it’s important that the address matches with the credit bureau (Equifax) as credit report products like ClearScore, Credit Karma and Experian use their data. If your current address doesn’t match the address in your credit report you might struggle to get access to your credit report in the first place as this is part of the security checks. If that happens you can still contact the bureau to ask for corrections, so no reason to panic. Just a bit of a faff. by glitchybitchy (Tue 23rd May 2023 5:40pm)
  • Yikes that’s annoying! I guess I’d sign up for all three providers in hopes that at least one of them uses a different address API but that might not help if Equifax has your address wrong. The good news is that sometimes these systems have “fuzzy matching” which allows them to match data that might be slightly different or formatted different. So I’d do the following: sign up for a credit score service, see if they can find you. If they can, great. If not you can try to contact Equifax directly. Note: if you just moved you might need to wait three months to sign up as the address changes won’t be in effect yet. I’d also get in touch with Royal Mail again and get it in writing that they weren’t notified. You can then use that as proof to speak to the council so that they rectify it. I suspect the council hasn’t contacted them but I might be wrong. If the council insists they have you can always ask for some kind of proof. If all else fails you can reach out to your local citizens advice if you haven’t already and even your local MSP. They can’t just leave you with a findable address. by glitchybitchy (Thu 1st Jun 2023 6:00pm)
  • Hi there, I’m a mid 30s southside lady. I can’t recommend Future Fitness enough, everyone is so friendly and helpful. The PTs there are the most knowledgeable I’ve met and actually listen to your specific goals. The boxing classes are my favourite, they’re really fun and a really good workout. I’m always happy to make another gym buddy so hit me up if you fancy. Hope that helps. by glitchybitchy (Tue 6th Jun 2023 9:42pm)
  • Omfg I had never had a cleg bite before, a week ago I was walking my dog in pollok park and one of those fuckers got me. I shit you not the entirety of my left calf was swollen something nasty and the area around the bite got insanely hot and hard as a rock. No amount of after bite antihistamines worked, only taking actual antihistamine pills. I now cover myself in bug spray before going to the park. by glitchybitchy (Sun 18th Jun 2023 6:59am)
  • What a win, really loved watching the race in the park. Protest and all. The vibe was great and the dutch and beligum fans were clearly having a nice time in a nice respectful way. Really looking forward to the ladies race. by glitchybitchy (Mon 7th Aug 2023 7:44pm)
  • Everyone watching on the big screen in Kelvingrove gasped it was really tense for a second! by glitchybitchy (Mon 7th Aug 2023 7:45pm)
  • I do a mix of weights, boxing and cycling. Weights will get you resulta faster plus more muscle mass means a higher BMR. But I get bored easily so the boxing classes are a fun way to do some cardio and strength. Cycling I really do just mostly for fun on weekends. One thing a lot of PTs and advice on the internet don’t acknowledge is that your menstrual cycle definitely has an impact on how you train and there are things you can do to mitigate feeling kinda rubbish cause it can help keep you motivated. So you might want to look into that. by glitchybitchy (Tue 8th Aug 2023 9:53pm)
  • Seems a little ironic to discuss affordable transport while asking for a £5/month subscription. You’ll alienate the very people who need affordable transport the most. by glitchybitchy (Wed 6th Sep 2023 8:18am)
  • That’s a pain, sorry to hear it got stolen. I’ve said this a fee times now to people in a similar situation, check gumtree and not just for Glasgow. A pal got his bike stolen and found it up for sale on gumtree near Manchester. Hope you find it. by glitchybitchy (Tue 10th Oct 2023 6:54am)
  • Ugh I feel ya, I’ve been here for over a decade and I’m also cold all the time. My advice is: 1. Layers are your friends. Thermal underlayers are cheap to get and tend to be super soft and comfy. 2. If you’re gonna spend on something spend it on a proper waterproof coat. I ended up getting a danish brand called Ilse Jacobsen. It was a total life saver. 3. That being said waterproofing doesn’t last forever so recoat it occasionally. 4. Down jackets are great and you can find them in a wide range of prices. If you get a light weight one you can wear it under your waterproof. 5. Get a decent pair of boots or waterproof shoes and pack some dry socks if it’s raining (golden rule of hiking) by glitchybitchy (Wed 11th Oct 2023 7:28pm)
  • The Alchemy Experience on Byres Road is technically a wee gallery but really it’s more of a coffee shop. by glitchybitchy (Tue 31st Oct 2023 11:07pm)
