  • Not the same scenario but when I stayed in Stirling I had an issue getting my deposit back, landlord had claimed it all back. After weeks of unanswered calls emails and texts I called him up and left a voice mail on his phone. He owned the property through a Ltd company and I company house searched him, his business was registered to his home address and I went onto his Facebook and found out he had 2 daughters and his wife's name. In the voicemail I said I would go to his home address and told him where that was and he would have to explain why to his two daughters and his wife who I named at the time why a group of young men were outside with signs calling him a fraud and a con man. Money was in my account the next day, no call or text. Just placed back in. Doesn't help your story but it felt great getting one over on someone who had a terrible landlord and didn't deserve the money. by wyzo94 (Wed 11th Sep 2019 8:03pm)
  • Hillhead Jordanhill Rugby Club at Hughenden in the West end has 3 senior men Rugby teams and a very successful women's team. They offer options for people who have never played before and players who have played a very high standard. As a member of the sports club you also get gym access and access to the tennis courts plus discount in the restaurant. There is a bar upstairs with a mixture of craft beer and showing all the rugby games when they are on. Very regular socials as well and there is no cliche between 1st and 3rd team players. Everyone gets along well. I moved to glasgow not knowing many people and have made all my best friends here. We train Tuesdays and Thursdays. Message me direct if you are interested and I would love to invite you down. by wyzo94 (Tue 1st Oct 2019 11:15am)

  • I always wondered who is doing this, I know it's rumoured to be drunk students but when I'm drunk I definitely wouldn't manage this. Surely there is a group who regularly put the cone back up for traditional sake. Why haven't the council just permanently attached a cone to his head, must be cheaper than always taking it down? by wyzo94 (Mon 28th Oct 2019 5:47pm)

  • I worked at Bill Gosling/Allied International credit on the spark campaign. Essentially you had to pretend you were spark, couldn't actually help anyone and the whole job felt totally pointless. How can I help? Right, I can't do anything about that. I'll send someone a message to ask them to do it but they probably won't ever respond. Whole commission structure was very complex and very easy to not get it for one reason or another. by wyzo94 (Mon 18th Nov 2019 10:14pm)

  • You've got hundreds of options being in Glasgow for flexible work. Delivery driver wise you've got obviously Amazon and Hermes but both require you to go somewhere to pick things up. Often pay per delivery and if no one is there to sign for stuff you are just driving round not delivering things and not getting paid. Food delivery is a better option. Dominoes as previously mentioned is a good option. Local takeaways have the benefits of cash in hand however no paid holidays or pension contributions or sick pay. Uber eats is pretty flexible I believe you just sign in and start delivering and you can use your car to do that. Also you have being an uber driver if you have the right car and you like talking to people. Plus there's loads of work on weekends and evenings. I know a lot of people don't like the idea but security work. You can get some nice gigs that are a total breeze and quite enjoyable. The weekend security at my work watch Netflix and go for a walk round the building every hour at most. You can also do stewarding at football matches. Pretty popular with students so you can have a laugh with your colleagues. May get some abuse but who really cares just don't take it to heart. Beyond that there will be loads of retail/ restaurants/ cafes looking for good staff. One of my friends works in an independent restaurant/ cafe and so does his girlfriend. He gets breakfast lunch and dinner there and they both get that much food home they rarely have to go to the shops. The big chains don't give out the going off food as easy but you get holidays/ pension contributions. Gallowglass the events company give loads of weekend shifts. Literally labourers for setting up big events. Very hard work but pays pretty well. Beyond that you probably have items in your house you could sell that you don't need. Old clothes can be sold on the app Depop. Books CDs DVDS and electronics can be done through mazuma mobile. You can get an app for mazuma just scan the bar code and it gives you a price. Long term part time works the army reserves is really good. Great sign on bonuses. Ability to see the world, learn new skills and get fit. It's definitely worth looking into if long term you want to work part time. by wyzo94 (Thu 2nd Jan 2020 10:20am)

  • Pure gyms tend to be sounder with deadlifts, Olympic lifts, chalk and things. From what I've heard the gym group usually frown upon this sort of behaviour. I use pure gym charing Cross 1 day a week and my rugby club gym most the week. by wyzo94 (Sun 5th Jan 2020 3:06pm)
  • Just in my experience by using charing Cross and Bath Street they seem to be cooler with this and my friends who use The Gym at Anniesland and Vinnicombe Street have been told off for things. If this sign was up I would finish my session and then move gym by wyzo94 (Mon 6th Jan 2020 7:26am)

  • I once took a girl to the roller disco. It's fucking solid if you're pished and she was super pished before the date started. She then made me go to the grand ole opry. Being new to Glasgow I didn't know what this place was. Went in and everyone was playing bingo dressed as cowboys. At least a hundred people. She sits us down at a table and everytime a number is called out she would scream wooooo eventually the bingo caller said whoever is doing that please stop. She got up in the middle of the hall and started shouting its him and pointing at me. She sits back down and I've only had 1 pint so I'm super embarrassed. I hear the clink of boots and 2 men dressed as sheriffs come up behind me and ask me to leave. So yeah avoid roller disco and most importantly the grand ole opry by wyzo94 (Sat 11th Jan 2020 9:27am)
  • My actual favourite first date is just grabbing coffee and going for a stroll round one of our lovely parks. Helps conversation flow early as you can talk about your changing surroundings and you haven't got that intense looking into each others eyes all evening and the pressure to keep conversation constantly going which can be hard for 2 people who have just met. by wyzo94 (Sat 11th Jan 2020 9:31am)
  • The former captain of Croatia coaches Rugby at my rugby club. Plus there is a Croatian barman there as well if that helps. by wyzo94 (Sat 11th Jan 2020 9:35am)
  • I work in Govan and stay in the West end. It has its issues but I can't say that Monday to Friday 9 to 5 its much worse than areas now apparently gentrified like Partick and Denniston. There are lots of really beautiful tenements in Govan. They have the new hospital, building the new bridge there and building a uni campus there. Imagine this is deliberate on Glasgow City Councils part to try improve an area close to city centre and west end. I think a purchase in Govan is a good investment and this new infrastructure will lead to increase in demand and property prices. Additional security measures in the meantime aren't too expensive. by wyzo94 (Sat 11th Jan 2020 9:40am)
  • Hillhead Jordanhill who who play at Hillhead sports club in the West end. We have strong link with Croatia with 3 Croatian national players having played for us. We also were visited by Nada Split rugby club last year and were planning a tour to split this summer. We have 3 men teams and 1 ladies team however looking to add a development ladies team. • Andy trains at OBS but these guys are mainly with the BPO which is an untested fed but there will be drug free lifters there. There is central strength which is a power lifting gym in the city centre and there is one in ibrox that I can't remember the name of. There will be powerlifters in extreme gym but it's mainly bodybuilders. Personally I would opt for outcast barbell sanctuary and Central strength over extreme gym. IPF and BDFPA are the two feds that are drug free, they have slightly different rules so look up what you prefer. IPF tend to be a lot stricter on the belt you use and what not. BDFPA have you bench with your feet flat on the floor whereas I think IPF allow you to have just your toes touching by wyzo94 (Fri 28th Feb 2020 7:37am)

  • Think the government announcing the 80% pay which applies to lots of workers combined with the great weather led to a feeling of a bank holiday and not a global health crisis. I hadn't been great myself, still seeing friends for one last pint in our favourite pub and I'm disappointed with myself. Following the announcement today my dad is isolating for 12 weeks. I don't and didn't plan on seeing him anyway but I went and saw him in his garden at distance and to think that I can't see my brother and sister in that household has really brought it home. I know most of us won't die from this but most of us will be separated from family and friends due to this. Is that not enough motivation. We will all make mistakes in this pandemic but that's not a knock on excuse to keep making mistakes. by wyzo94 (Sun 22nd Mar 2020 10:19pm)

  • I feel you may get torn apart for this comment but I somewhat agree with you. The police have a job to keep us safe and the measures in place are to keep the public safe. The rules are kind of clear but there is some interpretation of what is essential and not. I have to move out a self storage facility this week to another one, is this essential I don't know but the whole reason I'm moving is to be within walking distance of home so I can access my belongings. This trip is so I can stay within the outlined guidelines but I am worried if stopped by police I will be told this isn't essential. They are understaffed and under pressure and everyone they are stopping is probably giving them a power of grief so I get why they may have been a bit heavy handed in some scenarios. These measures will be in a long time and the longer they drag on the more likely people are to break the rules. Boyfriends and girlfriends living 10 minutes apart surely won't last 6 months of social distancing without breaking the rules, families and close friends as well. They are just doing their job so if challanged try be friendly and be honest with what you are doing and why you are doing it and if they don't agree it's essential advise that you will stop right away and return home by wyzo94 (Tue 31st Mar 2020 10:45am)

  • DELETED Walked a marathon round Glasgow today and saw people sunbathing, who were spread out. I also saw a very small minority of people drinking and socialising who were obviously breaking guidelines. The most common thing I saw though was people walking past me so closely or 2 abreast with their partner getting within inches of me and some times forcing me to stop and stand upright against a wall or fence just to let them pass. This is just rude let alone dangerous in the current pandemic. by wyzo94 (Wed 20th May 2020 7:15pm)

  • Kelvingrove was pretty busy and will be at capacity all weekend long from early till likely late and later than a usual summers day. Pollock country park is huge so likely find space there. However try your nearest park first as that is more in line with the guidelines. by wyzo94 (Thu 28th May 2020 8:42pm)

  • The new guidelines are totally fair and manageable. We all have loads of time just now to meet up with most the people we have missed individually. No need to party, stay patient and we'll have a big one when we can. by wyzo94 (Sun 31st May 2020 10:40am)
  • If you are using local sports teams grounds for sunbathing on please can you make sure it is OK with them first. Many grounds are closed to public under social distancing guidelines. Some have used this time to repair the grounds and people walking and sunbathing on it could damage it. by wyzo94 (Sun 31st May 2020 8:25pm)

  • I understand the severity of racism and covid are both level pegging. It's something that affects people who have done nothing to deserve it. However I saw some people wearing full camo, berets and aviators on their way to the rally and couldn't help but think they were there for Instagram and not so much the cause. No one just has these outfits lying around and they aren't essential in spreading the message. by wyzo94 (Sun 7th Jun 2020 10:20pm)

  • I have a friend who is Indian and have seen him racially abused walking down Bath Street on a night out and also on Saturday afternoon outside waitrose Bearsden. Both were uncalled for acts where people engaged him for no reason. by wyzo94 (Wed 10th Jun 2020 11:26am)
  • When I lived in Stirling a few years ago my house was robbed and from process of elimination and a conversation I had with my neighbour I managed to workout it was him. I called the police and told them I couldn't lock my door because I had been robbed earlier that day and my emergency joiner hadn't showed up yet. The police were unable to attend even after several 999 calls because they were dealing with a bunch of students who had blackfaced for the Africa Cup or nations who were causing a stir in the city centre. The police eventually came when I called again for the 3rd time after an hour and told them I was with no choice and would have to defend my life by whatever means necessary. When they arrived the crazed neighbour burst into my door with a large knife. The police weren't the race issue that night but the students were. The police wasted their time with a bunch of student idiots then risked their lives to protect mine. by wyzo94 (Wed 10th Jun 2020 7:27pm)
  • That's my point man sorry this wasn't clear, these police officers were understaffed dealing with idiot racists all nightand still risked their lives to save mine. by wyzo94 (Wed 10th Jun 2020 7:42pm)
  • There will be racist police but I bet if I dig into anyone's family tree I can find someone who has said something racist at one point related to them, does that make your whole family racist? Police saved me from either dying or having to take life that night. There are good ones out there and when you experience them you will understandably be annoyed by these comments. by wyzo94 (Wed 10th Jun 2020 7:50pm)

  • Caught someone breaking into my neighbours garage last night. Just heard like this sound of someone breaking a lock as my window was open so looked out and heard a guy fucking about with the back gate/ garage next door, he has phone light on so I shone my phone torch on him and he left and got in his car which was parked for a quick getaway and I just followed him with my torch. Felt like a concerned Craiglang pensioner. by wyzo94 (Fri 19th Jun 2020 10:31am)

  • There are some in Hyndland but a little pricey. Knightswood, Anniesland, Kelvindale, Govan. Think of areas where families are more likely to stay and outskirts of town but not in it. If you wanted to go further out Bishopbriggs would be a good shout and so would Paisley. I actually rent a garage in the West end. 120 a month single car garage no eletrics though. Plenty of those available on rightmove and gumtree. Really just depends on your budget and where you want to live. Could get a larger ground floor flat and convert one of the bedrooms as well. by wyzo94 (Tue 30th Jun 2020 8:31pm)

Saying that I have lived in some of the most shocking flats you've ever seen in poorer times and I'm quite easy going when it comes to where I live. Buying though, fuck knows. Can afford to rent a 180-200 grand flat. Mortgage lenders wouldn't trust me with little more than a 100 grand flat, which are hard to come by in ok areas. by wyzo94 (Mon 28th Dec 2020 10:25pm)

Just really comes down to events and staying injury free. That's why strongman is so good. • Govanhill, Tollcross, Yoker/Clydebank kind of area. Tenements in the nicer areas are well pricey and always rising but if you broaden your mind beyond tenements you could find a place in budget a lot easier. Tenements are nice but there are downsides like often single glazed, thin floors if your neighbours are noisy, exspensive for major building work. Just find areas you like, I've made the mistake of nice flat bad area and it isn't worth it. by wyzo94 (Tue 5th Jan 2021 8:32pm)

Just a great mix of music that suits everyone at work, not the same stuff on loop all day and no annoying jingles. Plus time for hospital admissions to reduce and the vaccines to start becoming effective. 🤗 by wyzo94 (Thu 14th Jan 2021 7:00am)

  • Which would decrease the number of hospital admissions , hospital admissions are the main factor driving lockdowns. We now have data today from public health England saying having covid and recovering from it can protect you for upto 5 months. This data, plus the massive vaccine roll out and the better weather should give us as close to normal as we've been for a long time. Will we be taps aff in the subby in May? Most likely not. Can we internationally travel without restrictions? Most likely not. Can we locally go for pints with friends and hug our families? I think and hope we can. by wyzo94 (Thu 14th Jan 2021 8:32am)

  • I imagine some touristy countries will allow people in if they prove they are vaccinated. The UK will probably allow you back in but may have to do a PCR test to prove you aren't a carrier of the virus. That's the grey area my colleagues and I were most stumped on a prediction for when doing these sums. by wyzo94 (Thu 14th Jan 2021 8:48am)

  • You can also report anonymous online Coronavirus law breaches. Lots of people coming and going could be a party for all you know. Don't feel bad about calling them for every small infringement as if he is breaking the law, even if that's covid rules, you have the right and should contact police. This is a hugely difficult scenario and anxiety enducing scenario but one you can get out and will get out of. Try not be afraid as fear is their only power. They are the criminals and they should fear you reporting them. Get CCTV, get a personal alarm for the hall and when restrictions allow have lots of friends round regularly. Be kind to your other neighbours and band together. by wyzo94 (Wed 7th Apr 2021 10:46am)

It's actually quite common to have these in weird places or to not have washing machines at all and use laundry places. by wyzo94 (Wed 23rd Jun 2021 7:27pm)
  • Cafe source too in the West end. It's a private bar at a rugby club and hosts the West end beer festival. Couldn't be more what you are looking for. by wyzo94 (Thu 24th Jun 2021 8:45pm)
  • Good morning Glasgow. Enjoy your day. by wyzo94 (Fri 25th Jun 2021 6:22am)
  • Central Strength in the town. Outcast barbell sanctuary in Clydebank. Elite gym in Ibrox. Extreme gym in Scotstoun and one in Denniston, these 2 are totally fine but don't have power bars like you would get in the previous 3. Future fitness on Kilmarnock Road has lots of bodybuilders so probably not too bad for powerlifting but not somewhere I've been. Personally I commute through to Anvil Strength Gym in paisley. It's amazing and the perfect place to train powerlifting. Well worth the 10/15 minute drive and as there's so much kit there you save time once you're in there as you never need to wait on anything. by wyzo94 (Thu 1st Jul 2021 6:14am)

  • Go from the west end, through old York Hill Park, round back of the yorkhill hospital, over the express way on the bridge at SWG3, all the way down the Clyde to Glasgow Green. Particularly nice on Sundays as all the rowers are out. At Glasgow Green. Just follow the Clyde till you decide to turn back by wyzo94 (Sun 4th Jul 2021 8:11am)
  • Side bar. Do not move house on a Friday. Lawyers are super busy on a Friday as there's loads of people wanting to move for the weekend. Often there will be a delay and your stuff will spend the weekend in my removal van and a second removal will be charged which you will have to claim back from whatever party is at blame, if you get it back. by wyzo94 (Mon 5th Jul 2021 10:11pm)
  • Anywhere on the underground line like Ibrox Kinning Park, Cessnock. Also try Anniesland, Kelvindale, Knightswood. Denniston isn't the best to the West end but if you did you'd have to get the train by wyzo94 (Thu 8th Jul 2021 7:14am)
  • I'm a removal man. Go all over our city meeting people and honestly it's just your luck with neighbours. I've lived in the West end and denniston with bad neighbours but I've met lovely people all over Glasgow. The city is gentrified and most areas with a bad rep are now a lot nicer and getting better all the time by wyzo94 (Thu 8th Jul 2021 7:31pm)
  • Nice N sleazys probably. Broadcast and the box maybe. Club 66 in Paisley is often industrial. SWG3 may have acts on. Optimo play some real alternative stuff and are a Glasgow institution everyone should at least spend one night dancing to. Find them at optimo espacio on Instagram Facebook, soundcloud. by wyzo94 (Fri 9th Jul 2021 10:44pm)

  • Now this is something I'm an expert in. Everyone says Lebowskis and Lebowskis is great for a wide choice of Russian but very expensive. Broadcast have a brilliant white Russian that is very well priced. The Variety bar also has a fabulous white Russian. Nice N sleazys use Tia Maria instead of Kahlyua but still pretty class and some may even prefer it. As Sleazys, Variety Bar and Broadcast are all next to each other why don't you try 1 in each bar? by wyzo94 (Wed 26th Jan 2022 8:20pm)

Plus will do me a will included in the purchase. https://www.slab.org.uk/solicitor-finder/harter-and-co-solicitors/ A lot of people recommended Ian McCarry in Maryhill as well. Again not too expensive. I just live very close to Harter and Co and I'm buying in their area. https://mccarrys.com/property/ I would be very surprised if you find anyone who is as affordable and responsive as these two I was quoted around £1000 all in by both these agencies. Around £400 cheaper then other firms in Glasgow. by wyzo94 (Sun 15th May 2022 7:12pm)

  • I actually worked there around 5 years or so ago as a stop gap between jobs. They do have an office in the Philippines and they did run significant credit checks on me and what not for what was a shitty paying job. I'm surprised your details were hacked, in the couple months I was there they were frustratingly above board and anal about things like GDPR and personal information. However, it's a low paying job and not a great place to work. There were stories of employees who had stolen bank details in the past. If you reported this to them with a strongly worded email threatening action I imagine they would answer you back. Be glad you don't work there. It was easy for me at the time as I was a 10 minute walk away and they gave me a job straight away when I'd been made redundant but it was pish. Wages were shit, they treated you like shit, you answered phones but had no actual power to do anything so all felt pointless. They randomly changed my shift pattern with no consultation. Had a good bunch of people in my team though and got a good laugh sometimes. You were dead busy so your days flew in. If you showed up on time/ showed up at all you could basically do whatever you like because it was like a revolving door of staff. by wyzo94 (Sat 9th Jul 2022 7:44am)
  • Bought last month, was 5% over but the property requires renovation. Lost out on many flats by a huge margin. Although I reckon it is slowing now or at least starting to show signs of slowing by wyzo94 (Mon 11th Jul 2022 2:28pm)
  • I deliver and install furniture. If you can get a van just get free stuff. A van for rental is gonna set you back £120 for Saturday Sunday plus diesel. The charity shops on Dumbarton Road is a good shout. Salvation army or Emmaus or usually the best prices. Beds, try gumtree or the independent bed sheps dotted everywhere. A new double divan will set you back £150. IKEA do zero percent finance as well. I just got my first home and was able to get free stuff as didn't need to pay for the van/furniture from work that didn't meet standards but all fine by wyzo94 (Tue 12th Jul 2022 7:07pm)

  • Second Opportunities in Govan. They are a charity and they will take it. I work there and I collect/ deliver their washing machines. If you wanted to get it down the stairs it depends. Smaller washers like 6/7kg ones I can take up stairs myself just by hugging it. The big ones, if you had to, just kinda walk it by putting the weight from corner to corner. When you get to the stairs get your hand in the drum, where the lip is lift from there and lift it down stair by stair. Take you ages and very risky so don't bother if you don't have to. We will come collect it free of charge. Top tip, if you need to get your washing machine in the gap but don't want to damage the lino, put fairy liquid on the floor and it'll slide in. by wyzo94 (Fri 22nd Jul 2022 9:12pm)

  • Elite gym in ibrox is always quiet. Mainly just free weights but if you're into strength training it's perfect. Central strength in town is also good. Focused towards strength but pretty decent. Bodybuilding wise you have extreme gym. 1 in Whiteinch on South Street and 1 in dennistoun. They are filled with bodybuilding kit. You've also got Y3T gym in the East of Glasgow. There is also sanctuary gym in linthouse which has loads of bodybuilding kit. by wyzo94 (Mon 25th Jul 2022 3:44pm)

  • I just bought my first flat at 27. Cost 70 grand. I've worked 2 jobs for 6 years. Been very hard and I question if it was really worth it. Although it's nice to spread my payments over a longer term and relax a bit more. It's really hard because everyone offers "advice" but most of it feels just patronising. That's the bit that hurts. There's a big emotional difference in eating beans on toast because you love a childhood throwback vs eating it as a necessity. by wyzo94 (Wed 3rd Aug 2022 9:04pm)

  • Recently just made my first purchase. If you rent there's no bad time to make a first purchase. The money you pay in rent you'll never see again. Might as well burn it. If you buy a house, so long you aren't overstretched, you'll see some returns for your money even if the market collapses. I was cautious with my purchase. I borrowed only 3 times my salary and stretched my mortgage over a long term so that I have more ready available cash for the upcoming money struggles we'll all face. by wyzo94 (Mon 8th Aug 2022 6:40am)

  • I know a lot of people who are. I don't drink or smoke. I make tuna mayo or egg mayo sandwiches and take them to work along with in stant coffee and soup in flasks. All made up of value brand ingredients. My car is owned outright and its a small wee car. My mortgage is 280 a month. My heating isn't on. I don't have tv packages. My wardrobe isn't designer. I don't have takeaways, I am having beans on toast for dinner. Yet people want to tell me if I cut out my Saturday and Sunday morning take out coffee I'll be more comfortable. Yes it's DEFINITELY something I'm doing. That hurts. It cuts deep. by wyzo94 (Thu 18th Aug 2022 8:21pm)

Byres Road and Ashton Lane years ago was a no go area as the bike gangs all hung out there. It is in theory a club but the blue angels have been linked to serious organised crime in the past. by wyzo94 (Sat 27th Aug 2022 5:34pm)

  • Old boxes are also good if you get a gap in what you're packing into the van, fold the flat box up till it fills the gap. If it can shift, it can break. When packing the load, builders, boxes and bags. Builders are things like chest of drawers and tables. Bags include things like chairs, light things. Start with the awkward stuff as that catches you out at the end. by wyzo94 (Tue 30th Aug 2022 4:18pm)

There was a dad and his daughter who was about 5 years old both in rangers tops and the car passengers shouted "enjoy the game you big specky mongo" as he stood there holding the hand of his young daughter waiting for the lights to change. I love this city and the football can be a bit of fun between friends but that made me feel sick. by wyzo94 (Sun 4th Sep 2022 2:17pm)

I have no links to them whatsoever but everyone I know in the industry always said if you're ever moving abroad these are the guys to do it. You can hire a van and do it yourself. You'll need 2 drivers though. It's actually very tiring driving for that long and you'll start to cramp up after about 5 or so hours. by wyzo94 (Tue 6th Sep 2022 10:19pm)

  • I make between 21 and 22k in my day job. Took on a second job and make 30k now. Feel a lot more comfy but had I been making this when I bought my flat I probably would have bought a bigger one and a nicer car etc. You just spend more tbh. by wyzo94 (Mon 10th Oct 2022 12:06pm)
  • My flat was 70 grand and my car isn't fancy. It wasn't a bad wage a few years ago. I genuinely saved up for 7 years. I also have had a few second jobs and done plenty of cash in hand work over the years which couldn't go to my mortgage affordability but did allow me to use cash and save my wages. So a bit of a fudged 22k. I'm quite tight and near gave up drinking for the 12 months prior to purchase. Honestly don't even know if it was worth the work. The one thing I would say though is I'll never ever ever complain about paying my mortgage because the graft it took to get here will never be forgotten. by wyzo94 (Tue 11th Oct 2022 6:16pm)

  • I am an ex removal man. There was a guy who was bloody amazing at it but he's moved back to the Czech Republic. If it's a grand piano you need someone pretty good. An upright is pretty easy tbh. People I know who are very good and experienced at this are Moving Home Made Easy and Lomond Removals. For a grand you need an item called a piano sleeve and not all companies have one so you are best using a real removal company and not a man with van service. by wyzo94 (Thu 20th Oct 2022 11:37pm)
  • So you take the legs off a grand and a couple other bits. You put the main body onto it's side and into a wooden almost pallet type thing. You put removal ties onto the piano securing it to the sleeve and then you put more ties through gaps in it and lift it using the ties. An upright is pretty easy. Any reputable removal firm should manage that. A lot of good removal firms are hesitant to just do one off jobs but if you're really adamant you want the best service tell them that and they should be willing to provide it. Moving Home Made Easy are very good. I know a guy at Lomond Removals who is very good at pianos. Kilmarnock Removals in Ayrshire have a good name but personally I don't know them. There's a lot of removal companies. Tell them you want it export wrapped. That's protective packaging for international shipping. by wyzo94 (Fri 21st Oct 2022 12:08am)
  • I deliver for a pizza hut part time. I did 12 deliveries last night and got £1.60 in tips. I'm usually happy if I get enough in a week to get a coffee and roll on Saturday morning from my favourite Cafe. Tips have declined since the world went cash less. by wyzo94 (Mon 24th Oct 2022 6:48am)

  • I am a removal man but sound's like you need more a man with van type service https://alphapackandgo.com/ Stelios owns this business. He's fully insured and is a bit of a character in a nice way. He's who I usually recommend if someone is looking for a man with van instead of a more high end removal service. If you decide to rent a van don't use Arnold Clark or anyone like that. Use AMK or Portman van hire. They are much much cheaper and also a local business. If you want to message me privately I can potentially help with it as well. by wyzo94 (Sun 13th Nov 2022 10:07am)

  • Easy storage/ Lomond removals at polmadie. Lens self store in kinning park. Storage vault in kinning park. A to Z storage in East Kilbride. Moving home made easy. GTW Storage in city centre. All reputable. Get quotes around. Source, I'm a removal man. GTW is worth a visit because it's a pretty cool unique old building in the town. by wyzo94 (Tue 3rd Jan 2023 8:06pm)
  • If you want a man with van service you may be worth using an actual removal company who do a packing service. Moving Home Made Easy do this really well. If you are storing stuff for a year or two I'm assuming it's either valuable or sentimental. By having it properly packed it'll last the test of time and survive through storage. Alternatively I can recommend cheap man with van services as well if you'd prefer that but seems you cherish your belongings and that's why you are storing them for so long. by wyzo94 (Tue 3rd Jan 2023 9:48pm)

  • The only people I know who'd use this service are people who'd do it once for the gram. Then they'd move onto the next fad they can put on their Instagram and forget about you. If you cut good hair, you'll be successful. If you make good food you'll be successful. If you combine the both nah, it won't work. If people are around you are telling you this is a good idea you need to find other people to bounce ideas off. by wyzo94 (Mon 27th Feb 2023 11:48pm)
  • With the cost of living and the short staffing crisis right now there's no suppliers. Everyone I know says their work is understaffed or the staff they do have are so fresh and undertrained they may as well not be there. by wyzo94 (Sat 4th Mar 2023 1:57pm)

Scotland's biggest bookshop and the dopamine just rushes over me every time I step inside. by wyzo94 (Thu 8th Jun 2023 7:58pm)
  • I've worked at least two jobs for 8 years now. If you drive food delivery is your best bet. Whether that's Uber eats etc, through a chain like Dominoes, Papa John's and Pizza hut. Can also do independents takeaways. Did some event crewing through cop 26. That's through companies like five star crew and gallowglass. They set up and set down events. If you have the funds to put yourself through an SIA badge you can do door work. Football stewarding you can do without an SIA badge. You can also get cafe work, waiting work, bar work. There's a whole power of weekend work out there. I enjoy it, it doesn't feel like working when you're there one day a week, just catching up with work mates. Doing something a bit different. by wyzo94 (Tue 13th Jun 2023 10:30pm)

  • I've rented loads of vans, AMK are best if you need 24 hour drop off. Portman in kinning park is slightly cheaper if you just need it for say 6 hours. Don't use a chain like Arnold Clark, enterprise or whatever they are usually at least double the price, no exaggeration by wyzo94 (Tue 24th Oct 2023 1:35pm)
