  • I can appreciate what he’s doing and shining a light on the situation but it’s unfortunate that his videos attract right wing racists. A lot of the comments I’ve seen are from roasters claiming their “not racist... but”. The people just get in a circlejerk of spreading absolute nonsense and misinformation “I’ve heard from my brothers pals sisters cousin that the gov are covering it up”. They get so caught up in looking like they’re the hero’s or they know this or that that it just distracts from the message that situations like this shouldn’t be happening. There’s also people out looking to see if they can see him and it’s just counter productive, issues like this need to be dealt with my the council, police, social workers and going out chasing likes is not going to help. by Complex_Lock (Mon 14th Dec 2020 11:44pm)
  • Well if average people believe the solution to a problem is to just send all the brown people away, then yes they’re racist. Also if it is not the job of the council, police and social workers to put a stop to these things happening then who is? Perhaps you can enlighten me since I’m an idiot. by Complex_Lock (Tue 15th Dec 2020 1:44am)

  • Pre covid I thought the council were good, responding to reports quickly and bin collection pretty good. I think a lot of issues right now are being blamed on covid so once we are back to more normal than now it will be a real test if they can get things back to pre covid. I like how they’ve been pro active in setting things up like the one way system in dennistoun, it’s a bit half arsed but it makes sense even if the car mob moan about it they just need to improve it. by Complex_Lock (Mon 22nd Mar 2021 7:16pm)

I’ll be voting for the SNP because I value things like free tuition and prescriptions and I want independence. Labour don’t have the votes to get in and are against independent. The tories don’t believe in free prescriptions or tuition, are against independence, are the reason for the Brexit chaos and businesses collapsing and are generally cunts. by Complex_Lock (Fri 9th Apr 2021 12:53pm)

  • Why would a developer set fire to the building when the building isn’t listed and a deal was reached with the old college bar? If anything the fire will prevent them from starting work due to the investigation. The police and fire brigade also don’t give a fuck about the council so they have no incentive to botch an investigation or are they being bribed too? It would be interesting to compare fire statistics to other similar sized cities to see if Glasgow has a disproportional rate of fires though. by Complex_Lock (Tue 4th May 2021 1:05pm)

  • It seems like Scotland has a higher fire incident rate than England & Wales. Last year the most incidents occurred in Glasgow, the previous year West Dumbartonshire. • That we will go to level 4 after? by Complex_Lock (Fri 28th May 2021 1:11pm)
  • I didn’t say they said it definitively. I asked what they were basing it other than their imagination. There’s no reason so assume the events will raise the cases to a level 4 territory. We hear constantly that cases don’t spread outside and other events like this haven’t spread cases to warrant a level 4. So just not sure where that assumption comes from other than imagination. by Complex_Lock (Fri 28th May 2021 1:24pm)
  • Well we’ve heard that cases don’t spread outside and other similar events haven’t spread cases to warrant a level 4 so just don’t see how that could happen. by Complex_Lock (Fri 28th May 2021 1:25pm)
  • If the UK government locked down earlier and closed the borders we wouldn’t be in this situation. by Complex_Lock (Fri 28th May 2021 1:38pm)
  • People coming here from other countries will need to have tested negative so not likely many will have covid. It’s not just the population density that has caused the rise in cases. The highest population density is in the leith walk area of Edinburgh and their cases aren’t like ours. The cases are levelling off, with the vaccine breaking the link between cases and hospitalisations the reduction to a level 2 will be justified. by Complex_Lock (Fri 28th May 2021 1:50pm)

  • Lol this is clear projection. Though it’s a nice reminder that tories only care about political point scoring, where the only thing that matters is your team wins. You contradict yourself too. You say Sturgeon looked to England to see what to implement but then say we are weeks behind England… doesn’t it then make sense measures come in after them? You say everything she does is so she can point fingers at England’s cockups. When has she done that? You’re a Tory so I doubt you ever did listen or care what the SNP said. Just listen to a cunt who wanted to let the bodies pile high, wanted to be infected with covid, has £800 a week of takeaways donated to him while cutting lunches for kids & literally gave away billions of our money to his pals. by Complex_Lock (Sun 30th May 2021 7:47pm)

  • If you watched the announcement you would know that the vaccines have broken the link between hospitalisations and that now, thanks the the vaccines, only 5% of cases are leading to hospitalisations. This means that places are able to go down levels or stay on levels when it’s possible for more public health measures such as increase in vaccinations to tackle outbreaks. Glasgow also went from 148 cases per 100,000 last week to 132 today, so the cases are going down. by Complex_Lock (Tue 1st Jun 2021 3:03pm)

  • They’ve done massive increase in vaccination with mobile vaccination hubs and walk in centres by Complex_Lock (Tue 1st Jun 2021 4:01pm)
  • Well no, because a couple months ago there was no need for an increase in the vaccination rate in Glasgow. The whole of Scotland was prioritised, however, the vaccines have been prioritised in Glasgow due to the outbreak. Our vaccine strategy seems to have worked too as we are the thirst highest vaccinated country in the world. https://twitter.com/marcuscarslaw1/status/1399736212060094470?s=21 by Complex_Lock (Tue 1st Jun 2021 4:29pm)
  • Glasgow can drop a level not just because vaccines have been ramped up. There is never one factor that leads these decisions. The government were looking into if the vaccine has broken the link between cases and hospitalisations and have now found they have. Last week our case rate was also increasing as it was 148 per 100,000. It’s now falling and at 132. Various factors have led to the decision of us dropping a level and not one based on football games. So again, not one factor has led to this decision. Various factors come into play, the falling case rate, the link between cases and hospitalisations breaking and the ramp up in the vaccinations in Glasgow. by Complex_Lock (Tue 1st Jun 2021 5:01pm)
  • You were the one who seemed to ignore it and say my argument was the only reason we are moving down a level is the ramp up in vaccines. by Complex_Lock (Tue 1st Jun 2021 5:27pm)
  • I mean yeah if you ignore all the other evidence. by Complex_Lock (Tue 1st Jun 2021 5:26pm)
  • Again you’re ignoring my points that the drop in the level is not just because of vaccines. by Complex_Lock (Tue 1st Jun 2021 5:37pm)
  • The ones you ignored. What do you think of the case rate falling? It was increasing and peaked at 148 last week and now at 132, do you think that’s encouraging? If your idiotic point that Glasgow was kept in level 3 for the Euros was in response to that, I suggest you read up on correlation and causation. I mean don’t you think we were kept in level 3 because we had rising case figures? At that point it was also not knows if the link between case numbers & hospitalisations had been broken by vaccines. This was because we had really just emerged from a nationwide lockdown so case numbers were already quite low and it wasn’t possible to tell the impact of the vaccines. You say nothing substantial has changed in the last few weeks but I would argue that cases being on the rise and cases now on the decline is pretty significant no? Also the understanding that the link between cases and hospitalisations being broken is also significant. It was also announced today that this will take us away from an elimination strategy to a managed one. Which isn’t that good? Many people having been challenging the elimination strategy now we have vaccines and that’s now the path the Goverment are on. by Complex_Lock (Tue 1st Jun 2021 5:53pm)
  • Do you have a source that the link between cases and hospitalisations were known to be broken at that time? by Complex_Lock (Tue 1st Jun 2021 6:08pm)
  • I never made that assertion. I said it is now known that the link has been broken, evidenced today in the statement where it was said now only 5% of cases are resulting in hospitalisation and it was 10% at the start of the year. So again what’s your source that it was known the link was broken on may 14th? You also have to remember that the outbreak occurred in a community in Glasgow that are less likely to be vaccinated and therefore a higher number of those cases could lead to hospitalisation. by Complex_Lock (Tue 1st Jun 2021 6:19pm)
  • If that’s true, give me a source? All that means is that those people who are vaccinated are less likely to be hospitalised. The people who are in hospital are in the younger age bracket and unvaccinated, because believe it or not a large portion of the population are still unvaccinated. As there is still a large number of unvaccinated cases can still have the same outcome of hospitalisations. Not to mention that you can still test positive if you have been vaccinated. So again what’s your source that you are basing your assertion that it was known the link between cases and hospitalisations was broken on may 14th? by Complex_Lock (Tue 1st Jun 2021 6:39pm)
  • Ahhh the “it’s common sense” approach. Lol. • But if we’re in level 2 we should be able to do things that you can in level 2. Transmissibility outdoors has also been shown not to cause any spikes. I don’t understand the argument, like okay now we are in level 2 but let’s not do stuff that’s appropriate for level 2 because it can cause cases to go up. Guess what so can everything else, should we just delay the opening of everything? It really just seems like retribution rather than any real concerns tbh. by Complex_Lock (Mon 7th Jun 2021 1:30pm)

  • Sadly housing lists aren’t like wait lists, it goes by priority, so if someone who is regarded as a priority comes on after you they will get a house first. Single men are usually bottom of the pile. Unless you’re threatened with homelessness, or are actually homeless (even if it is sofa surfing) it will be difficult to get a housing association flat. Priority is given to people who are homelessness/ are facing homelessness, or fleeing violence etc as well as people who are living in overcrowded places or their property isn’t safe/ habitable. There are cheap flats on gumtree, some on right move. You can find landlords who will allow people on benefits to move in, mostly private landlords, agencies will be more difficult if they accept you at all. If you’re looking for flats on gumtree just beware, there are people who pretend the flat they rent is theirs, take the deposit and do a runner. Then the landlord/ agency do an eviction. by Complex_Lock (Thu 15th Jul 2021 7:37pm)
  • You can’t be too poor to be homeless. It may be that you they didn’t want to move you into temporary accommodation because they charge like £300 a week and housing benefit won’t cover that. If you’re facing homelessness you can tell them you are but have a place you can stay so you don’t need temporary accommodation. Also make sure you tell them you have a child who stays at the weekends as you should definitely be getting at least a 1 bed flat. by Complex_Lock (Thu 15th Jul 2021 7:45pm)

  • Wouldn’t a cupboard be better then instead of a fridge that has chemicals that could leak from it? Also, it’s pretty understandable that the council don’t want to just have a cupboard with accessible food out in the open. • It’s not controversial to help people from starving and acting like anyone here is saying otherwise is being disingenuous at best. Do you work for these people or something? Rescuer syndrome or being a white saviour comes to mind. There are ways people can get help. Efforts would be better spent signposting people in need to the safe, available help rather than causing an unnecessary risk. • We need to tackle the underlying issues of why people attack others, addiction, poverty, education, etc. it’s not because there’s not a well lit path in a park. I don’t know how anyone reading my comments could think I was saying ‘it’s dark don’t go out’. Stay in well lit areas (which a park with a lit path isn’t) stay in urban areas where there’s traffic and people. People shouldn’t attack others but to think that lights in a park would stop them is a bit ignorant. by Complex_Lock (Thu 4th Nov 2021 5:38pm)

  • If you’re convicted of murder there’s not some stipulation that you can only face this punishment if there’s a certain amount of evidence. If you’re convicted you’re convicted. We have all of that evidence available to us already and there’s still people who are wrongly convicted. Killing one innocent person in the name of punishing others isn’t worth it and would make us just as bad as those we were trying to punish. > would you personally support quick, cheap execution? No because I support due process. by Complex_Lock (Wed 17th Nov 2021 3:01pm)
  • Do you think they jail people without believing they are 100% guilty? You don’t go to jail because you might have committed a crime, yet there are still people who are wrongfully convicted. There’s people who were wrongfully convicted when there’s been witness evidence, evidence manufactured by police or witnesses, etc. Killing one innocent person in the name of retribution would make us just as bad. by Complex_Lock (Wed 17th Nov 2021 3:12pm)
  • You missed my point. People are convicted because they are believed to be guilty, if there’s any doubt they aren’t then they are acquitted. So that’s a 100% belief they did it. This is already the case. Yet people are still wrongfully convicted. If we brought in the death penalty we would kill innocent people. Would you be okay with the state killing you for a crime you didn’t commit just so they can kill others who have? by Complex_Lock (Wed 17th Nov 2021 4:13pm)

  • No, he’s been found guilty and I trust the system. I think he should be in jail for life. I don’t believe in the death penalty because there are people who are wrongly convicted and there’s people that are killed by the state and later found to be innocent. Killing one innocent person would make us just as bad as the murderers so it shouldn’t be an option. There’s no foolproof method to ensuring that only the guilty people are killed either so if it was brought in, innocent people would be killed. That’s not worth it. by Complex_Lock (Wed 17th Nov 2021 5:35pm)

  • But the person is entitled to appeals to ensure the process has been fair and no mistakes were made. Capital punishment is mostly done by lethal injection which is already pretty quick. There are people who have been convicted based on manufactured police evidence and false witness statements and executed and then later found to be innocent - that’s pretty solid evidence and yet it can be wrong. [There’s more cases here. ](https://www.nationalgeographic.com/history/article/sentenced-to-death-but-innocent-these-are-stories-of-justice-gone-wrong) There’s not a foolproof way to ensure that innocent people aren’t executed so it’s not worth it. by Complex_Lock (Wed 17th Nov 2021 5:41pm)

  • All evidence is fallible. CCTV can be faked, witness statements can be wrong, DNA is circumstantial. People have been convicted because the police manufactured evidence and witnesses lied - those people would have been killed by state. There’s no foolproof way to only kill the guilty people, the death penalty, in any shape or form, would lead to innocent people being killed. by Complex_Lock (Fri 19th Nov 2021 12:14pm)

This confuses me, surely your wage increase which is 1.8% above inflation is for that? Also, was it not a COP26 bonus before they went on strike and then they changed it to a “Glasgow Payment”? • Why would the charity lie? It’s not affiliated with the council. You know not everyone begging on the street is a rough sleeper, right? by Complex_Lock (Fri 26th Nov 2021 9:04pm)
  • That will be why a homelessness charity thought it a good achievement then. Obviously the number of people rough sleeping may fluctuate but it’s a sign of how well run the homelessness team at the council are doing if a homelessness charity thought it notable. Though there’s still improvements to be made in temporary housing but at least they’re getting everyone off the streets. by Complex_Lock (Fri 26th Nov 2021 9:00pm)
  • Except they’re not booted out during the day? Temporary housing doesn’t mean a shelter for the night and no where to go in the day. If people are genuinely begging on the streets I would say that’s more indicative of the failed benefits system than the councils fault. Some of the people begging on the streets aren’t genuine either. by Complex_Lock (Fri 26th Nov 2021 9:08pm)
  • The council don’t have any council housing so are reliant on the housing associations to provide accommodation when it becomes available. Most of the horror stories I’ve heard have been issues with anti social behaviour in the hostels/ b&bs where people are temporarily housed but I’m not sure how to fix that. Do agree that some of the temporary flats and hostels/ b&bs are in bad condition. by Complex_Lock (Fri 26th Nov 2021 9:17pm)

  • I said the police would arrange it, I didn’t mean the police would just turn up at the flat and break in. Illegal eviction is a criminal offence, even if OP is a sub tenant this is still an illegal eviction and he has a right to be let in the house. The police would turn up, knock on the door when the tenant is in and when they come out establish that OP was a tenant/ sub tenant and have them let in the property. If the tenant wasn’t in OP can force entry but would be liable for any damage caused - it’s also best to contact the police if you’re doing this in case someone phones them to report a house breaking. by Complex_Lock (Sat 15th Jan 2022 12:53pm)

Always nice to see when someone who thinks they’re a “middle earner” is a bitter cunt. If there’s a need for more ambulances they will be available from the rest of the city, though obviously that would increase wait times slightly. by Complex_Lock (Thu 17th Feb 2022 9:55am)
  • Because it’s between 12-5am, there was previously 3 ambulances and if the data said they can be better utilised elsewhere that seems reasonable? I’m aware that there’s been unprecedented pressure on the nhs and ambulances everywhere due to the pandemic and staff shortages. Long wait times aren’t unique to Glasgow. I’d rather the ambulances are utilised where the data says they should be rather than have them being idle elsewhere in the city - that would actually cut wait times if there closer to where they need to be, no? It isn’t like they’ve made this decision on a whim, in times when there is unprecedented pressure it’s better to have the ambulances where they will be more useful. by Complex_Lock (Thu 17th Feb 2022 10:08am)
  • Did you take meter reading when you moved in? If not you could raise a disputed read with your energy provider to check that it’s correct. The landlord has a duty to make sure the property is wind and water right and fit for human habitation. The electric, heating and water/ water heating need to be in a reasonable state of repair and proper working order. You could request the water boiler is inspected to see if it has a broken timer and get that fixed. Single glazing would be classed as wind and water tight and you might be in a conversion area where this can’t be changed. If you notify the landlord of the issues with the boiler and they don’t do anything in a reasonable amount of time you can take them to the first-tier tribunal of the housing and property chamber, it’s free just google it and you’ll find it and the stuff you need to apply. by Complex_Lock (Fri 18th Feb 2022 1:51pm)
  • You could do a load test, basically turn off all appliances and check them one by one against the meter read to see if any are causing a problem. • None of that substantiates what you’re saying. It was a proposal, like when the tories and Labour proposed that GCC should cut teacher numbers to make up for the short fall Labour’s £500m equal pay shambles is costing the council. GCC are forking out £30m a year for Labour’s equal pay, they’ve got a £20m black hole. So if it wasn’t for Labour they would have a £10m surplus., despite cuts. It was odd that Labour circulated a list of libraries that were “permanently closed” (they weren’t) but ignoring their own councils doing the exact same thing. by Complex_Lock (Fri 4th Mar 2022 3:08am)

Uber should make a feature that if a driver picks up on the fare you agreed, if they cancel you can rebook at the first fare you agreed. Doubt they would do it tho because it would make them less money. I was in Germany recently and you actually prepay the Ubers there, so much better as the driver doesn’t take you all ways to get the fare up and it’s not impacted by drivers cancelling and triggering surge pricing. by Complex_Lock (Tue 8th Mar 2022 12:06pm)

Or Labour, who ran one of the most corrupt councils in the U.K. underpaid their staff £500m and fought it for 10 years. Neglected all the buildings they were in charge of so now they are crumbling, not to mention the neglect they caused the city through their terrible policies like signing away all the council houses for free. • Have they? I’ve not seen any of their flyers and the like with anything remotely saying a vote for them is to get independence. by Complex_Lock (Fri 15th Apr 2022 10:54pm)

  • I’m sure you’re the type of cunt who goes on about free speech as well yet here you are policing the way someone talks. Being a grammar nazi on the internet is beyond pathetic. by Complex_Lock (Sat 16th Apr 2022 11:09am)

  • And the answer is yes. We have one of the lowest levels of poverty and deprivation in the U.K. Charities have praised the SNP child payment policy that they have recently doubled as well as raising all benefits they handle by 6% meanwhile they have been cut elsewhere in the U.K. A better performing health service than elsewhere in the U.K. with the shortest waitlist (although still far too long). Schemes to help young people like free bus travel and dentistry. Crime is at one of the lowest levels and have halved since the SNP came to power. Not to mention things like free prescriptions and free tuition (that has been tripled and payable via loan in rUK), as well as student loans having the lowest interest rates, the payment threshold has been lowered and interest rate hiked to 9% in rUK. As well as lots of others. by Complex_Lock (Sat 16th Apr 2022 12:02pm)

  • It’s apartments, likely wouldn’t be approved otherwise as the council want to double the population of the city centre. by Complex_Lock (Fri 22nd Apr 2022 12:47pm)
  • She didn’t blame thatcher for the cities rat problems. She said the city was still feeling the effects of her policies. The £500m equal pay payout caused by Labour means the city is paying out £30m a year to settle the claims. This has led to a £10m blackhole in the cities finances, so Labour are very much still to blame. by Complex_Lock (Sun 22nd May 2022 11:19am)
  • It’s the same in rUK except their shops don’t even open on Sundays, or they do but for limited hours. Really weird. by Complex_Lock (Sat 9th Jul 2022 2:04am)
  • They gay clubs are open until 4am, like most clubs in the rest of the UK. Mostly likely because there is less disturbance but shows that it’s not a limit, the license board just needs to be happy there won’t be trouble if the club is allowed to open to 4am. 10am - 10pm alcohol sales in shops is pish but done to reduce drink deaths. There are restaurants open later and McDonald’s/ kfc/ etc are open until 4am on the weekends. The rest close because it’s not profitable. Pubs closing at 12 is also pish, but it’s not all pubs you get a few open until 3am like howlin wolf and speakeasy. by Complex_Lock (Sat 9th Jul 2022 2:09am)
  • I’m not sure, shop sales have been limited like that for years. Minimum unit pricing wasn’t designed to stop alcoholics it was designed to lower consumption and it has by like 8%. by Complex_Lock (Sat 9th Jul 2022 11:17am)
  • Delmonicas and polo would be good, they’re in the same building so don’t have to wander around looking for places. by Complex_Lock (Sat 23rd Jul 2022 2:38pm)
