  • Thank you - im not really drinking just now though and struggle going to bars myself though I appreciate the suggestion though :) by Cantliveinchaos (Sat 5th Jan 2019 8:31pm)
  • Im gonna try and show up to this. Had some anxiety issues in the past and showing up somewhere myself is one of my no gos but this year im going to try and push those boundaries :) by Cantliveinchaos (Sat 5th Jan 2019 8:51pm)
  • I dont run but getting my fitness up is definitely an aim for this year so i definitely wouldnt rule that out. Ill have a look into glasgow frontrunners! Thank you :) by Cantliveinchaos (Sat 5th Jan 2019 10:18pm)
  • If it gets too crowded she can hang out in the corner with me lmao by Cantliveinchaos (Mon 7th Jan 2019 3:43pm)
  • This creepy bastards been at it for years. About 2 years ago me and my ex were standing outside forbidden planet on buchanan street and he was hassling a girl and about 10 metres away a guy was filming on his phone which seemed wierd as it was. So me and my now ex stood in between the guy filming and the creep who was hassling the girl. The guy filming was getting proper agitated and kept trying to move to film around us but we kept moving. This was broad daylight(maybe 3pm) and the street was mobbed so we didnt say anything straight away as we didnt think the girl was in any danger but the minute she started walking away we asked if she knew the creep that had been filming and she went mental. by Cantliveinchaos (Fri 11th Jan 2019 2:23pm)
  • Gabby in nirvana tattoos would be great at this! Check their instagram or facebook im pretty sure its just Nirvana tattoo studio :) by Cantliveinchaos (Fri 11th Jan 2019 3:14pm)
  • Yeah i now have the fear theres a video on his channel where his attempt to be filmed is ruined by 2 angry lesbians growling at the camera. If there is rest assured im only that unfriendly on mondays haha by Cantliveinchaos (Fri 11th Jan 2019 4:16pm)
  • Do you have instagram? Her name is gabby vasques art(no spaces) Let me know if you find it :) by Cantliveinchaos (Fri 11th Jan 2019 5:19pm)
  • We did say to her at the time if she wanted to do anything about it(police etc) we'd happily help her but i think after she went mental at them both she just wanted to get on with her day. I am debating dropping into a police station before work and leaving my info incase she ever does file a report. The problem is(like others have mentioned) theres a problem as to what he can actually be charged with. Hes a creep but technically hes not broken any laws. The only thing i can think they might have a shot at(and its a small shot) is some sort of privacy laws with the filming without peoples knowledge but im not even positive about that. The issue is cases like this get judged by the moral police(as they should) but theres very little the actual courts can do about him(failings in our legal system) Source - work in the legal system by Cantliveinchaos (Sat 12th Jan 2019 6:40am)
  • You got a link to the twitter shit storm? by Cantliveinchaos (Sat 12th Jan 2019 6:51am)
  • I see where youre coming from but things like that rarely actually make it to court and get dealt with seriously sadly. Hes more likely to get a slap on the wrist in the hope that will serve as a warning to him. I do hope im wrong though and enough people come forward that he can potentially be charged with something more serious but being a creep isnt enough. Hes a proper scumbag though. Maybe a young MSP could even use this to their advantage to make an example of him and use it to campaign for a change in how the law treats people that act like him. by Cantliveinchaos (Sat 12th Jan 2019 9:31am)
  • I can vouch for this - my best friend commited suicide about 3 years ago then i lost my ex just over a year ago. I wont say i dont still have terrible days but it does definitely get better and you start to feel a little more alive with each day that passes. If you ever need someone to talk to or just to rant to feel free to message me, youre not alone :) by Cantliveinchaos (Sat 12th Jan 2019 6:17pm)
  • Not sure about parties but the past few years me and my friends have went to NYC they have themed food and drinks so its normally a good night :) by Cantliveinchaos (Sat 12th Jan 2019 6:34pm)
  • Last time i was in tchai ovna tea rooms there were people advertising russian lessons on the notice board. Its right on the wall as you enter. That was a month or so back but definitely worth going in to see if its still there :) by Cantliveinchaos (Tue 15th Jan 2019 9:17pm)
  • This blog made my night. Thanks to the person who wrote it and to OP for asking about it haha by Cantliveinchaos (Tue 15th Jan 2019 9:15pm)
  • I see what you did there haha by Cantliveinchaos (Sat 19th Jan 2019 11:19pm)
  • Im at sports direct(previously la fitness) and its a flat 30 per hour - i was hoping theyd do deals like you mentioned or even a slight discount if you buy in batches but it doesn't seem to be the case. How many PT sessions a week were you doing approx to really feel gain from it? by Cantliveinchaos (Sun 20th Jan 2019 12:49pm)
  • I used to have a parking space in town till my work sold the land -it was in charing cross so when it happened i decided to look into permits. Charing cross car park wanted a few hundred quid a QUARTER and thats how i started using the bus lol. So if you do find anywhere reasonably priced please share with me. Keep in mind this was a good few years back so its probably much more expensive now. by Cantliveinchaos (Sun 10th Feb 2019 11:24am)
  • Cant stress enough how important it is you call the police to have them moved even if it means doing it every day. While most homeless folk in this situation are harmless/genuine theres always the few that arent. Few years back we had a similar scenario where a homeless guy was sleeping in the close -he never asked for anything or bothered anyone and he'd show up at night, sleep, then leave before most folk went to work. However a few closes over there were a few not so harmless homeless folk who would basically monitor people's routines and see when fok would go to work etc and one day broke into a few of the flats in the one day when everyone was at work. Opportunistic is the word id use. So please think of your own safety and your neighbours safety - call the police and tell them its making you anxious etc, theyll come out and move them without naming who phoned. And speak to factor/neighbours about getting better locks on the close doors as well as sticking letters through doors to remind people to keep the doors shut/secure. by Cantliveinchaos (Sun 10th Feb 2019 11:20am)
  • Garage is a decent gig venue! Theres the usual cloakroom so you can take a bag, jacket etc. too which i know is important for some folk. And if i remember correctly you get free entry into the garage club or the cathouse with your gig ticket if thats your thing :) by Cantliveinchaos (Sun 10th Feb 2019 11:26am)
  • Yeah i only live 20 mins away by bus or train though so 100 odd a month to park then walk vs 50 monthly bus pass to drop me right in town is what seals it for me. If im paying to park i dont want to then have to add a 10 min walk on if that makes sense by Cantliveinchaos (Sun 10th Feb 2019 11:32am)
  • >First thing Monday, i'm gonna be tearing someone a new anal opening about this. Aye cos being a dick to some poor call centre handler who's probably on minimum wage and has zero control over the pricing will help. How about you phone up and calmly ask if they can explain the breakdown because it definitely seems excessive? Or email local MP and ask if its correct and ask them to do a home visit to explain it properly. I live in Glasgow (east end) and local MPs are always more than willing to go out their way to help folks. Even if its as simple as them contacting the relevant area in the council and getting the breakdown for you. by Cantliveinchaos (Sun 31st Mar 2019 11:19am)
  • Definitely contact them - as mentioned ive had to contact mines for a couple of issues and theyve always been really efficient and helpful. Even contacting them retrospectively im sure they can contact the relevant areas and raise the issues as it might have been a training issue with a new person who just needs a little support :) by Cantliveinchaos (Sun 31st Mar 2019 2:30pm)
  • Not sure if youre only looking at food banks but Lodging House Mission in the city centre offer a lot of support for people. Not a food bank, a centre that cook all their donated food on site for homeless and people with addictions to drop in and get a good meal as well as a safe place to hang out and learn some new skills. They deserve all the good cover they can get as they really do offer a lot of support to people that need it ( ive worked with them a lot, not used them) by Cantliveinchaos (Sun 31st Mar 2019 2:43pm)
  • See ive heard mixed reviews about hepcat but i dont think any of the people have been recently so i may look into them. Thank you! by Cantliveinchaos (Tue 11th Jun 2019 5:34pm)
  • Ahh thank you! Ill maybe drop in after work one night and have a chat with them :) by Cantliveinchaos (Tue 11th Jun 2019 5:37pm)
  • Ive witnessed this happen outside the abc a few years back. Few lads saw a guy grab a girls phone and try to leg it.. right into a clothesline and then the other started kicking into him. Glasgow style vigilantes. by Cantliveinchaos (Mon 17th Jun 2019 11:14am)

  • Just burst out laughing when i seen someone mention he was the guy posting numerous evening times links. One of the first times i looked at the Glasgow sub it was infact him posting an evening times link and the mod saying that hed been warned numerous times and if he posted another one he'd be banned(or something along those lines). by Cantliveinchaos (Wed 26th Jun 2019 2:01pm)
  • To be fair in response to the warnings they were replying with completely unrelated news articles.. so i think it was a piss take by Cantliveinchaos (Wed 26th Jun 2019 3:37pm)
  • Im in the area quite a lot and done my test in it many years ago - what times your test at? The reason i ask is the driving conditions there vary greatly depending on time. It connects to the A8(glasgow to Edinburgh) so its often mobbed with people commuting to work and back. Familiarise yourself with the main street as theres normally wayyyy more cars parked than there should be so youll have the usual hazards(people throwing car doors open, delivery vans double parked, kids running across the road from behind parked cars, etc). And go on edinburgh road too -keep in mind its a 40 zone for the most part as its classed as a dual carriageway so remember to monitor your speed as people get impatient and hammer their horn if you go slightly less than that. In addition to the above familiarise yourself with the roundabouts just up the hill from the test cente(and the train station) - they can get really busy at rush hour and a bit stressful if you arent used to them. Hope that helps a bit! Good luck :) by Cantliveinchaos (Fri 28th Jun 2019 3:50pm)

  • Thanks so much for this reply! Someone in work mentioned discord and i had no clue what it was. They said id need an invite for it though but youve solved that issue too! :) by Cantliveinchaos (Sat 13th Jul 2019 4:40pm)
  • This was my first port of call but the reviews are awful - items show as being in stock in site then when people chase up them for delivery they're told they werent in stock and wont be for a while. by Cantliveinchaos (Tue 6th Aug 2019 5:14pm)

  • Message them on twitter and facebook as well as emailing the store. Keep it high level(bullet points) and say you want the manager to look into it properly and to reply before you seek someone for legal advice. I'm not sure that store security are actually allowed to physically touch people unless they're making a citizens arrest -if this is the case they must also call the police. They cant do it then change their mind when they realise you arent actually carrying stolen goods. It sounds like this guys on a bit of a power trip and probably needs reminded that hes a security guard and not a police officer. by Cantliveinchaos (Sun 29th Sep 2019 3:05pm)
  • Unfortunately they are encouraged after your SIA training by some security companies(speaking from personal experience) Was using that as an example of when store security could actually justify man handling someone Edit: spelling by Cantliveinchaos (Sun 29th Sep 2019 3:23pm)
  • I'm really suprised by that due to how big the store is/ how many local businesses probably use it at lunch time! Surely it would have made more sense to only have it between core hours :/ by Cantliveinchaos (Mon 30th Sep 2019 4:18pm)
  • Is that the big tesco across from cafe nero etc or the little one near to the garage? I would have thought a salad bar in either would have raked it in for them :s by Cantliveinchaos (Mon 30th Sep 2019 4:15pm)
  • Seen a couple dotted around sauchihall st - thought at first it was rouge oner as the first I seen was next to his cat paintings but I'm not so sure. Also any other ones around out with the 2 on sauchihall st? :) by Cantliveinchaos (Tue 1st Oct 2019 11:18am)

  • Apparently a boy had it and didnt realise and went in one of those big party bus things for his birthday and it spread like that. His dad works offshore with a friend and is now unable to work incase he has it too. by Cantliveinchaos (Mon 16th Mar 2020 9:34pm)
  • Do you know the charity name? If so id recommend contacting your local MP. A lot of charities get funding and once the local MP starts snooping and telling them theyve been getting complaints they make an effort to stop pissing neighbours off because they get worried theyll lose their funding. I have first hand experience of this with a well known glasgow charity. Soon as i spoke go someone higher up the food chain and told them i was going to contact my local MP for advice they suddenly became much more helpful. by Cantliveinchaos (Sat 2nd May 2020 6:46pm)
  • Indorex should kill them and any eggs etc. Its a flea/bug spray but kills most beasts. After thoroughly hoovering/cleaning spray it over all carpets etc in the house with windows shut. Open the windows after a couple of hours and you shouldnt see any more moths. Can get a big bottle on amazon for about 15 quid and itll cover an average house twice! by Cantliveinchaos (Sun 10th May 2020 4:12pm)

One of those places if im in town and just want to sit down for 10 mins ill pop in there even just for a cuppa and instantly feel welcome - the staff are all lovely. • Ill have a look on the age concern site! Thanks :) I know theres charities that arrange for people to go and read etc to old folk but due to covid thats understandably a no go just now so id hoped those programs had been replaced with a gift donation type thing. by Cantliveinchaos (Fri 13th Nov 2020 5:17pm)
  • Ive text a mate that works in a care home but no luck so far. Ill maybe google some local ones and reach out to them. I assumed there would be charities in place because theres a lot of older people in the situation sadly - didnt expect itd be hard to find one :( by Cantliveinchaos (Fri 13th Nov 2020 5:22pm)

  • Thank you! by Cantliveinchaos (Fri 13th Nov 2020 5:49pm)
  • People have already commented on what they are so just here to recommend Indorex spray. Its sold as a flea spray but will kill any othet bugs/eggs it comes into contact with. Big can is about 15 quid on amazon - spray it over all carpets and leave the flat for a couple of hours with windows shut then go back in and open windows before hoovering. Itll not only kill any that are there but itll continue to kill anything afterwords that hatches for a few months. Just make sure no pets are in when you spray -theyre okay to be let back in after you've vented/hoovered by Cantliveinchaos (Mon 16th Nov 2020 10:27am)

  • This sounds like a great idea for a very worthy cause but as others mentioned its probably not classed as "essential " My mate got fined last week for driving to an asda that was "too far" from her house so im not sure how police would react if they randomly checked people who have travelled for this purpose. Ill keep an eye out though and if youre looking for volunteers when lockdowns finally eased ill gladly help by Cantliveinchaos (Sat 30th Jan 2021 6:24pm)
  • Its a 60 quid on the spot fine she was given. As for educate im not sure what their process is? All i know is she paid it. I think they should have other priorities like fining folk for having parties as opposed to folk going to a shop with a mask on but it is what it is by Cantliveinchaos (Sun 31st Jan 2021 10:29pm)
  • Unfortunately it was a close friend so its true. Id assume the police have better things to do with their time but i guess not in some parts. by Cantliveinchaos (Sun 31st Jan 2021 10:30pm)

  • The flat market has been non stop over the past 6 months - unfortunately for first time buyers its over saturated with people buying to let. My friend and his wife put their flat up last month(its actually similar to what youre looking for) and within 2 days had 8 offers - 5 of which were from buy to let companies, 2 from people who were buying to let(on their own) and 1 offer from a first time buyer. It seems to be the same 7 companies/people snapping up most of the flats in the area and they all were clearly competing against each other and outbid the first time buyers by a clear 10k. Its a difficult time for first time buyers for sure by Cantliveinchaos (Mon 29th Mar 2021 8:22am)
  • Download the glasgow city Council app and you can request a bulk uplift from that. It asks what items there are and quantity and normally gives you and estimated collection date then you'll get an email to confirm they've collected it. Had to use it a few times cos the landlords round me seem to be incabable of submitting a form themselves when they clear out their flats. by Cantliveinchaos (Mon 29th Mar 2021 1:58pm)

They dont hold a massive amount of water but theyre good value and will do you a quick shower. I was also going to suggest central station has a shower but im not sure its opened just now due to lockdown. by Cantliveinchaos (Thu 8th Apr 2021 8:23pm)

  • One of my friends from work knew the organiser and told me - think it was only organised a few nights before to be fair. Was meant to go ahead on the Saturday to match the london protest but they didnt want to clash with the football fans by Cantliveinchaos (Mon 17th May 2021 7:01am)

  • Leave some tshirts out in the garden that have been worn (take some from your washing basket) including near the gate/entrance -my friends cat was missing for a few days and came home after she done this. They pick up the scent and follow it home. Hope your cat is home soon :) by Cantliveinchaos (Mon 21st Jun 2021 10:53pm)

  • Oooh nice. Kind of want to be a nerd and ask who signed your buffy comics? I have a couple of buffy ones ive never got round to framing haha. by Cantliveinchaos (Fri 2nd Jul 2021 6:09pm)
  • Oooh nice mix there! I still have my buffy comics too, cant part with them by Cantliveinchaos (Fri 2nd Jul 2021 8:19pm)
  • I got quotes for 2 different things from framing workshop - the one for the 2 comics was actually pretty reasonable and is around the price i expected but the price for the second thing which is similar in size/would use same amount of mount material etc seemed much more expensive than it should be. Think im gonna get them to frame the comics and keep looking elsewhere for the other thing. by Cantliveinchaos (Sun 4th Jul 2021 11:45am)
  • Contact your local MP. High level bullet points on the email detailing how youve tried to make the council aware and how many times its been missed etc. MP will have good council links and environmental health links and should be able speed this up for you. by Cantliveinchaos (Sun 8th Aug 2021 1:24pm)

  • If theres a casino nearby if you go in there and order a soft drink(or alcoholic, whatever you want) theyll order you a taxi. The one on glassford street have a deal with a certain taxi company and me and my mates used to head there every week after polo or catty. You dont need to gamble - theyll happily let you sit at the bar with your drink then come over when your taxis arrived by Cantliveinchaos (Sat 21st Aug 2021 8:35am)

  • Its normally automatically added to larger tables but from experience if you ask about it they are more than happy to remove it. Im a bit wary in the sense i dont completely trust that the staff get the full amount if its added on the bill/taken as a card payment. I prefer to have it removed from the bill and physically hand cash to the person who's gave the best service. But back to your original question -depending on where we are i normally aim for a 15% tip for good service. On the other hand i have absolutely no issue not tipping if the service qas awful. by Cantliveinchaos (Mon 1st Nov 2021 10:37am)
  • I totally agree with you - if theyre adding it on it should be advertised so customers are aware. The only reason i tend to notice is that im always the one in the group thats left to work out how much everyone owes so im the only looking through the bill at the end lol. Was it a chain place you went to or a family run place? Id be inclined to leave a comment on social media to tell them no one made you aware to see how they reply by Cantliveinchaos (Mon 1st Nov 2021 10:51am)
  • Went last Wednesday and you can buy mallows inside - theres a few different options - large, small, vegan and ones with rolos inbetween the mallows. Its about £4 a stick from memory. Theres also the ususal burger vans and beer carts as well as ones that sell hot drinks - be prepared to spend a lot of cash though if youre going for food/drinks - from memory it was a fiver for a can of beer. Theres not a massive amount to see but the kids loved it and its something a bit different to do :) Hope you enjoy! by Cantliveinchaos (Thu 11th Nov 2021 11:25am)
  • If you dont have any luck via the suggestions about email your local MP and they will be able to escalate it to someone in the right department. Local MPs are great for this sort of thing. by Cantliveinchaos (Wed 17th Nov 2021 9:33am)

  • I do a lot of volunteering through my job at a well known homeless drop in centre in glasgow. This centre offers 3 free no questions asked meals each day, showers, computer classes and has couches, pool tables and tvs etc so people can spend time off the streets. During winter they convert their upstairs into a space where people can stay the night too. Naturally you get to know the more frequent visitors and unfortunately this isnthe point where you realise a lot of people are "opportunistic" if thats the right word. Ive had people tell me that theyve been offered space in shelters etc for free but dont want to agree to random drugs testing. Ive had them tell me they show up at the drop in centre 3 times a day to get their 3 free meals which then means they can spend their benefits and money they make from begging purely on drink and drugs. Before anyone starts lecturing me - i understand addiction is an illness and i wont judge them on it. But unfortunately after volunteering for so many years at the centre its made me really think before handing people money. For example if im going into starbucks etc and someone is outside ill say i dont have cash but can i gwt them a hot drink or something to eat - some say thanks and take a tea, others have told me "f*ck off i want cash" - take from that what you will. Id also like to point out ive met so many lovely people through volunteering - some of them will refuse to leave me alone at a bus stop at night until they know im on it safe, most just want some company and someone to talk to them without judging. But its definitely made me think about how many people who beg in town are actually homeless sadly. by Cantliveinchaos (Thu 18th Nov 2021 7:14pm)
  • Call me crazy but if im going to give a stranger money ive worked for id rather it went on a meal or safe place to stay for the night than drugs. But you do you pal. by Cantliveinchaos (Thu 18th Nov 2021 8:04pm)
  • If people want to take drugs thats up to them but if im giving someone money ive worked for id rather it was for a meal or a safe place to stay for the night. But im totally with you - with loads of folk WFH now itll deffo have had an impact by Cantliveinchaos (Thu 18th Nov 2021 8:06pm)
  • People can spend their own money on whatever they want but im not giving someone money to feed an addiction. No one should go hungry which is why i have zero issue offering to buy someone food or a hot drink. by Cantliveinchaos (Fri 19th Nov 2021 5:20am)

  • Theres a bowling club. My mum was really against it when i suggested it to her(also retired) but now shes proper addicted and made loads of wee pals that she goes for coffee with and stuff. by Cantliveinchaos (Sat 4th Dec 2021 2:05pm)
  • That deffo doesnt sound like the same one cos mines would also have a lot of issues with that lol. Theres a noticeboard in the costa with sewing groups and stuff on it from memory btw. Not sure what else is on it but might have something your mum likes? by Cantliveinchaos (Sat 4th Dec 2021 2:22pm)
  • Not a solicitor but specialise in business law in my role. Im not sure of your current financial status OP but citizens advice and your local MP may be able to help. Citizens advice will have links to local charities/law firms who specialise in this sort of thing(and chances are during covid will have previously been asked the exact same thing by other people - potentially even folk who also worked where you were). Local MP has similar links - they *shouldnt* offer you legal advice(unless specifically qualified) but will have a lot of links to local practices who can help out and can also apply pressure on the employer. by Cantliveinchaos (Fri 10th Dec 2021 8:02am)
  • When i was in high school(talking almost 20 years ago) my mates dad had an ice cream van and told me theres 300% profit in ice cream. Youre talking buying a big tub from farmfoods or whatever for a couple of quid and selling it for a couple of quid per scoop. If it was 300% profit almost 20 years ago i imagine its increased substantially by now. Combine that with the fact they charge extra for sauce etc which probably costs a quid for a massive bottle and theres your answer. Been a long time since ive been to the ice cream van but im gonna assume a double nougat isnt a couple of quid anymore lol So to answer your question - if they rake it enough in during summer then they can probably justify only a few sales a day in winter? Or id guess thats it by Cantliveinchaos (Mon 13th Dec 2021 12:48pm)
  • Ill edit my post to say a pound for a tub with a few scops - cheers for pointing that out by Cantliveinchaos (Mon 13th Dec 2021 1:14pm)

  • Get the council involved -if someone new is living there then they probably arent paying additional council tax(the old guy will have single person discount). The council take ANY form of skipping paying them very seriously - a few years back an ex friend of mine moved her bf in - neighbours reported it and the council watched her flat for a few days and basically said to her we know someone else lives there too and fined her. This is your proof someone else lives there which you can give to your landlord. Bit of a workaround but hope it can help. As for him loitering outside your door - phone police non emergency EVERYTIME it happens and tell them hes trying to intimidate you. Should put him off at the very least. by Cantliveinchaos (Wed 30th Mar 2022 9:06am)

  • Where are you based? Sports direct bought over the old DW fitness at the fort - its got a big gym with plenty of weights, pool with 2 jacuzzis(sp?) And steam room and from memory its £30 a month. Ive been to David Lloyd before and its an okay gym but you really just pay for the name imo. If you just want one thats not in the budget range(and i agree The Gym/pure gym is always heaving) that has a pool etc then id recommend the sports direct one depending on if you live close enough to it by Cantliveinchaos (Wed 13th Apr 2022 5:19pm)
  • Second for damaged society - they do a lot of good quality band tshirts for 2 for £30. Hoodies etc are a bit more expensive but if its tshirts im sure you'll find some by Cantliveinchaos (Wed 13th Apr 2022 6:51pm)
  • It doesnt include your deposit. House is 100k(for example) - bank will give you 95k and you give them 5k deposit. You want to bid 120k - you need 25k cash - 5k deposit and 20k which is over home report value(the max the bank will mortgage for). Does that make a bit more sense? I used 100k as an example cos its late in the week and my brain is too tired for maths by Cantliveinchaos (Wed 13th Apr 2022 6:55pm)
  • Can confirm girls like all them tattoos 🙌😂 by Cantliveinchaos (Thu 14th Apr 2022 3:09pm)
  • I only use uber now -little bit more expensive at times but much more convenient for me as you can see how many cars are in the area and as soon as one accepts the job. Ive spoke to a few Glasgo drivers who double up as uber drivers and theyve told me when its busy they clock on as uber drivers as theyre less likely to get booked by junkies etc and they earn a couple of quid more on jobs so i think thats deflating the number of Glasgo cabs around too by Cantliveinchaos (Sun 17th Apr 2022 8:20am)
  • My Ben's seems to have got even more expensive recently. Went in a couple of weeks back cos nostalgia and some of the pricing was ridiculous. by Cantliveinchaos (Sun 17th Apr 2022 10:19am)
  • OP if your mum has her phone with her phone her asap. You said shes on a hen do but i 100% guarantee she'd rather come home from edinburgh early to ensure her daughters safety than spend the full weekend getting MWI. What youre describing is abuse - definitely mental but it sounds like you might be scared one of them are capable of physical abuse so you really shouldnt be waiting until monday to discuss with your mum. I hope youre okay but you need to contact her asap by Cantliveinchaos (Sun 17th Apr 2022 10:17am)
  • When i moved house last year i asked costco if i could come up and get some and they were more than happy to help :) Lidl also gave me loads of the stronger ones that bottles of vodka came in so those were really handy - just ask the manager if he can put some aside for you by Cantliveinchaos (Sun 17th Apr 2022 5:14pm)
  • Stuff like this always makes me suspicious especially when people are giving advice including charities that can help with emergency accommodation etc and the person skips those comments and goes straight to the ones suggesting they might be able to send cash. Theres no doubt in my mind this "girl" was a scammed - wonder how much total they managed to make off with. by Cantliveinchaos (Wed 20th Apr 2022 7:45am)
  • Legit burst out laughing at that 😂😂 Reminds me of years ago a homeless guy outside kfc asked my aunt for cash for food - she didnt have any spare cash but gave him her chips and apologised( yes - she apologised for not having money to give 🙈) and the moron launched the chips at her and shouted "I WANTED MONEY" 😂😂😂 by Cantliveinchaos (Wed 20th Apr 2022 8:10am)

  • Im a big rayban fan and nearly had a heart attack when i realised costco stocks them for almost half the price. Most places in town want deposits to reduce the risk of no shows/lost business if they turn other people away so you might need to pay the deposit. by Cantliveinchaos (Wed 17th Aug 2022 5:34pm)
  • I normally use the Citylink 900 to/from Edinburgh. It goes half hourly to/from the bus station and from memory runs all night. Not ideal but that would get him to glasgow city centre then he could get to hamilton from there. • I cant help with advice in relation to your question about moving BUT contact your local MP about your situation with the bins and the general crime in the area. Lay it on how its impacting your mental health etc and the money worry is making it worse. Same thing happened to me years ago and i contacted them explaining i couldnt afford it and it was due to a crime etc. Long story short they linked in with the cleansing who provided me and my neighbours with replacement bins. They werent new(basically ones they had lying around) but its saved us all 50 quid! Hope this helps you a wee bit by Cantliveinchaos (Thu 24th Nov 2022 3:34pm)
  • Honestly dont be ashamed to lay it on thick - £50 is a lot of money especially when its as a result of a crime - lets be honest there's no guarantee the wee bams wont do it again. If youve previously contacted police tell them that too - its their job to link it with local authorities and they can pressure them to do more local sweeps of the area that may be a deterrent. I feel for you - theres nothing worse than not feeling safe in your own home, it can really impact your mental health by Cantliveinchaos (Thu 24th Nov 2022 3:43pm)
  • They honestly just do it to try and act hard/cause people grief. Its honestly not worth your time trying to understand how their brains work. Keep us updated how you get on with the meeting? by Cantliveinchaos (Thu 24th Nov 2022 8:48pm)
  • What kind of flyers/ business cards? Local costas will let you put up community type things - the one at mines lets folk put things up like town fayres, knitting groups, volunteer opportunities etc. Some bars in town will let you put things up for craft fayres etc(thirteenth note for example). Think it honestly depends on what youre looking to advertise. Unless ive misunderstood and youre just asking for a generic list? If so sorry by Cantliveinchaos (Fri 25th Nov 2022 10:43am)
  • Pam Duncan Glancy is a fantastic MSP - highly recommend contacting her regarding this by Cantliveinchaos (Tue 29th Nov 2022 4:07pm)
  • Phone the centre and ask what their internal complaints process is - ask them for an email address so its all recorded (dont settle for someone saying theyll take the info over the phone and deal with it). Once you have said email address send them a high level breakdown of what happened and make sure you stress that it could be classed as discrimination (remember not all disabilities are visible) and that its caused your friend stress/anxiety as well as the obvious embarrassment it no doubt caused. Once email is typed up copy in local MPs(a couple have been recommended below who are fantastic). Tell them in the email you want a response by email or in writing confirming their process for allowing folk to use the bathroom and why it fell down in this instance- at the very least their staff need better training. I work as a business consultant so have some experience in this field - im sorry your friend went through it and i hope theres a positive outcome and they get at the very least an apology. by Cantliveinchaos (Tue 29th Nov 2022 4:15pm)
  • This is why i emphasised that OP gets an email address etc - it happens far too often that companies ask for the complaint over the phone and say they'll deal with it then do nothing official(other than saying to employee dont do that again). By having a paper trail and copying in MPs etc it means it actually needs addressed/handled in an official capacity. by Cantliveinchaos (Tue 29th Nov 2022 7:19pm)
  • Not a problem - all the best and i hope your friend is okay. by Cantliveinchaos (Wed 30th Nov 2022 9:15am)

  • Highly recommend submitting the form to get your yellow bins filled as early as possible - i submitted one on friday and they filled it on monday. Form only takes 2 minutes but obviously the closer to christmas the longer itll take the council to do. Came home from work yesterday intending to do it and my absolute star of a neighbour had done all the driveways on our wee street. Hes top of the card list for sure. by Cantliveinchaos (Wed 14th Dec 2022 7:32am)
  • Id you have a bag theyll probably just make you stick it in the cloakroom. Christmas market cheese is expensive so if they took it off you itd be a tragedy haha by Cantliveinchaos (Thu 22nd Dec 2022 5:44pm)
  • Ive helped out in lodging house mission although im not 100% if they open on christmas day - theyre a fantastic drop in centre who offer hot meals and showers as well as internet/computer classes and basic things like that aimed at helping homeless folk get back on their feet. Social Bite is another great one which allows you to donate cash which will provide a homeless person with a christmas meal but again im not sure if theyre proactively looking for people to volunteer - worth emailing though id say. Hope you find something OP - youre deffo one of the good ones! by Cantliveinchaos (Sat 24th Dec 2022 12:58pm)
  • Had this issue years ago and reported it to council and police scotland(theyd previously put up signs about fines etc) but they couldnt care less. Eventually emailed local mp with all the steps id taken - speaking to the person/putting up cctv etc and also the police/ council not helping. Anyways in the email to MP i bullshitted about how families live in area/i was concerned about kids health and safety playing there etc and they escalated it to someone in glasgow city council who wrote to the neighbour and visited them saying if it kept happening they'd get fined each time. It stopped for a while then they got evicted for another reason so either way it was a good ending. by Cantliveinchaos (Mon 26th Dec 2022 9:23pm)
  • They do still do the cheap "advance" tickets its just they get released the week before(i know its stupid af). I went to london in november - down the friday home the following weekend - set ticket alerts on trainline and they emailed to say tickets for X date have just been released and sure enough it was showing "£32 advance ticket - 5 remaining at this price" or something to that effect. The emails for each came maybe 5 days before my travel date. So they are still doing the limited number of cheap tickets its just they cant physically sell them so far in advance due to the short notice strikes/changes. Hope that makes sense Ps - sign up for the avanti alerts too on their own site by Cantliveinchaos (Wed 28th Dec 2022 3:40pm)

  • Also - i had my lip perced by kenny years ago(at least 15) and honestly there was nothing wrong with it. Healed nicely and even though ive took it out for work years ago its not left much of a mark tbh. by Cantliveinchaos (Sun 1st Jan 2023 3:44pm)
  • Thanks very much for this - the forge markets pretty big so this helps me with what to look out for :) Hes done almost all my piercings since i was 13(im in my 30s now) and im of a similar opinion about not going anywhere else(not that i get many piercings nowadays lol). by Cantliveinchaos (Sun 1st Jan 2023 6:44pm)

  • Mines had the same issue and i was about ready to bin it but my pal fixed it for me using this guide(link below). https://www.technewstoday.com/ps4-cmos-battery/ Turns out it was a tiny wee battery needing replaced - that was about 6 months ago and its worked fine ever since by Cantliveinchaos (Sun 8th Jan 2023 1:55pm)

  • Ive never used the shop as when i went in for a quote years ago they seemed to pluck it out of thin air and in addition told me the tattoo would take at least 5 hours(about 6 other tattooists quoted 2 hours max - small tattoo and im already covered in them so knew it seemed off straight away). In fairness the owner also told me if it took less than the 5 the price would be the same so i guess he was up front about ripping me off? Lol Grateful i didnt book there as a few friends have been messed about by them in terms of them constantly changing booking dates and then not refunding deposits after the third date change. Feel sorry for the artists as they seem to be constantly messed about too. by Cantliveinchaos (Mon 23rd Jan 2023 1:45pm)
  • Doesnt seem high to me im afraid - got the roof redone maybe 5 years ago in our block of flats and it was just under 10k and i imagine that roof would have used substantially less material by Cantliveinchaos (Sat 18th Feb 2023 4:14pm)
  • Hate to say it but this is what insurance is for. Youre absolutely correct - they admitted fault but it wasnt malicious. It was an accident and that's what you pay insurance for. You could of course consider contacting your local MP to see if they have any contacts is GHA as its a repeated incident and maybe they'll have a more serious word with the tennent about causing damage etc but you'll still need to contact your insurance about your own flat by Cantliveinchaos (Mon 13th Mar 2023 6:12pm)
  • Im absolutely gutted but not shocked. This has clearly been brewing for a while - theres been a couple of instances in the past couple of months where numerous staff have phoned in sick on the same day and as a result theyve ran with one person on the bar(the manager i think) and one chef all day. One of the times they ended up saying they werent doing any food orders with the exception of people that had advance bookings(presumably so the chef wasnt too stressed/could help out front at points) Hopefully theres a complete review and they get whatever is due to them/better workplace conditions moving forward by Cantliveinchaos (Tue 14th Mar 2023 11:15am)
  • Aw yeah for sure - the part about people phoning in sick wssnt a dig - for all we know they may have phoned in due to work related stress/how much of a shit show it is by Cantliveinchaos (Tue 14th Mar 2023 11:29am)
  • If you can afford it a PT is the way to go. I started with one a few years back and started with 1 session a week and i honestly gained more out that 1 hour a week than any other classes i went to or times i went to the gym myself. It done wonders for my fitness/weight but also my mental health - the PT can show you the most efficient excercises to do and give you structured workout plans - a lot of the things i was doing at the gym before were nowhere near as beneficial as id thought they were. by Cantliveinchaos (Thu 16th Mar 2023 12:53pm)
  • Not sure where you live but the wee costa near me has a local trade notice board and people put stuuff like that on it. Maybe worth dropping into local coffee shops :) by Cantliveinchaos (Thu 16th Mar 2023 3:25pm)
  • I may have just been really lucky but ive used 2 PTs(both through the sports direct/everlast gyms) and they were fantastic. Both gave a free trial session to see if i was comfortable with their training and then both suggested i pay per session to make sure i was enjoying it before buying batch sessions. I dont doubt what youre saying about shady PTs - i guess like everything else its about doing your homeword and checking them out as opposed to rushing in. by Cantliveinchaos (Fri 17th Mar 2023 8:29am)
  • I tried that today but no luck :( thanks for the suggestion though :) by Cantliveinchaos (Tue 21st Mar 2023 7:34pm)

  • Tell your GP its really impacting your mental health/making you mega anxious etc. A girl i knew in high school used that excuse and got a nose job on the NHS. Granted she claimed she was being bullied etc(absolute bullshit) but it worked either way. by Cantliveinchaos (Thu 13th Apr 2023 10:07am)
  • I dont know why people feel the need to be absolute dickheads on posts like this. Someone is missing and OP is literallt trying to raise awareness. If this was your friend/partner/family member im sure youd rather people just didnt comment as opposed to commenting nasty things being dickheads for the sake of it? OP - i hope your friends found soon and safe. Ive seen a few different people sharing this on twitter/insta etc so hopefully it reaches someone thats seen them. by Cantliveinchaos (Fri 21st Apr 2023 9:33am)
  • Assai on sauchihall st have them in! Or at least they did yday :) by Cantliveinchaos (Tue 16th May 2023 1:37pm)
  • Im sure they had this on their social medias a few years back basically saying how proud they are to have an official chairty partner and that theyd be adding £1 to each bill as well as their own donations. That was a while ago so im not sure if it'll be the same charity partner but they definitely advertised it and they also mentioned it on their menus as well as putting it on the receipt as you've mentioned. Theres probably an arguement that the staff member should make you aware at the time if giving you the bill but the fact its not hidden makes it perfectly legal. You also mentioned they took it off no issues when you asked. Its for a kids charity and its £1 so in fairess 99% of people probably notice it, ask what it is then pay it so i dont really see an issue. by Cantliveinchaos (Sun 21st May 2023 8:42am)

  • Had an amazing night - the crowd was pretty balanced - a lot of younger folk who went for niall horan/george ezra and then left the stage when Pulp came on. And vice versa for the olded fans that probably only went for Pulp. It was a strange lineup tbh - played out how id expected by Cantliveinchaos (Sat 8th Jul 2023 8:56am)

  • Totally depends on the practice - the dentist i go to(city centre) charges 200 per white filling. Depends how visible it is and what youre willing to pay i guess by Cantliveinchaos (Tue 25th Jul 2023 8:04pm)
  • Tbh if its teeth at the back that no one will be able to see id just get the silver nhs ones. Im not a dentist but ive got a couple of silver ones that ive had for years and i honestly couldnt tell the difference between them and the white one i have(obviously other than how they look) by Cantliveinchaos (Tue 25th Jul 2023 9:50pm)
  • If its where im thinking of its a 40 zone but rarely do you see people sticking to it. Its a horrible junction. Hopefully no ones been seriously injured. by Cantliveinchaos (Wed 26th Jul 2023 8:34pm)
  • Its possible its always been the rule and as youre local/frequently in the shop they allowed you and theyre now basically having to enforce the same rules for everyone. I dont personally know any shops near me that allow dogs in - whether its from a health and safety perspective around food or they just take up too much room. So maybe the shop owners near you have just been a bit more relaxed with the rules if they know you/your dogs well behaved? by Cantliveinchaos (Fri 28th Jul 2023 10:42am)
  • Its hard without knowing what type of shop youre referring to but it might be health and safety related if they sell food? Maybe theyve been hit with a fine or something recently. Its definitely not common but at the same time im sorry your dogs now not allowed somewhere they previously have :( by Cantliveinchaos (Fri 28th Jul 2023 11:14am)

  • When i had a PT(pre covid) about 80% of our excercises were done with kettlebells or dumbells and i honestly swear by them. I never knew how versatile they are. Not had a PT in a long time but i have weights in my garage now and after a 30 minute workout i feel great. Give kettlebell excercises a search and youll see loads of different examples OP. The main thing is to mix it up each time so you arent getting bored of the repetitiveness by Cantliveinchaos (Tue 8th Aug 2023 1:20pm)
  • I grew up literally a few streets away from here OP! Its a great area and tbh im not surprised it went to closing - houses round there tend to sell very quicklh and for a decent price above offers over. Great train service to Glasgow and Edinburgh but also a really regular bus service 5 mins walk away. Edited to say that provided you have double glazing the train noise shouldnt be an issue. You're close to the station but not right next to it. Good luck with your bid :) by Cantliveinchaos (Tue 8th Aug 2023 5:42pm)

  • Here to second buying Tapo products - i have their plugs which i have my lamps attached to(next to my livingroom and back window) and their camera. The app is very user friendly and ill stick the lamps on while im out and its dark as it can give the impression someones home. Seems small but most junkies are opportunistic and wont risk it if they think someone might be home. Hope youre okay op! by Cantliveinchaos (Mon 6th Nov 2023 10:03am)
