  • The barras doesn’t have a PA system, making it more expensive to put on a gig. by punxcs (Wed 6th Feb 2019 1:00pm)
  • It would look that way to the uninitiated, most boxes and arrays look the same and you wont ever see the amps. most of the geezers who get booked to provide the PA have been doing it for years and probably have it down in regards to positioning their systems. by punxcs (Thu 7th Feb 2019 5:46pm)
  • No one is that well off by punxcs (Tue 26th Feb 2019 7:48am)
  • It was actually all 12-18 year old schemies. Saw them do it myself when I was walking into the botanics. by punxcs (Tue 16th Apr 2019 12:51pm)
  • I don’t see an alot on that page at all. fact of the matter is PCL P who run the festival are independent and it’s expensive to build big stages on the other side of the country and to man them all with PA lights and crew. This is good for local music, good for SWG3, good for fans, and good for musicians. by punxcs (Tue 16th Apr 2019 7:54pm)
  • It’s still a festival, in a wonderful space. It is expensive to run a festival, and I don’t know how the finances are at EF and co but the cost of hiring all the stuff is enormous. Paying bands, paying djs, crew, bar staff, all the hire fees, it all adds up to a massive bill. If they need to move it for a year so that they can do next year then so what ? It’s a private industry in the end, vote with your wallet but I’d rather have PCL putting on a festival than DF. If you want to camp go and camp. by punxcs (Tue 16th Apr 2019 10:59pm)
  • Is there anyone you’re not a dick about ? by punxcs (Mon 6th May 2019 12:02pm)

  • Ach probably just me not liking them before they posted it anyhow but they had a pizza called the dirty donna and it was heavy sexualised and weird the way they advertised it, basically saying they were gonna cum garlic mayo on donna. Paesanos aren’t much better, pin ups on the menus. The best pizza is Errols on victoria road. by punxcs (Tue 14th May 2019 1:56am)
  • https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/420/ Ding ding perfection by punxcs (Fri 17th May 2019 2:38am)
  • We had the new ultimate quorn ones last night and they were fucking amazing. Had some Move Over Meat ones as well, pretty alright but they were on sale, not worth £4 for 2. The beyond and impossible ones are good but for the price it’s not really worth it for me. I’d rather make my own or have something less intense. by punxcs (Fri 17th May 2019 2:42am)
  • Aye because all those cows and pigs and sheep and other creatures haven’t been touched genetically at all. No hormones or antibiotics either, and definitely not any selective breeding over a millennia. by punxcs (Fri 17th May 2019 2:46am)

  • Why is a doctor saying shite like this ? Quiet day ? by punxcs (Sun 19th May 2019 11:36am)
  • For some dates they have free hire, certain selection of tossers at 432 is the word on the street though. Hit up nice n sleazys, think hire is £70, 100 on weekend, free if you get a certain cap, and then some free dates scattered about. hit up sleazys@gmail.com or googlemail. I think it’s backwards compatible on the naming. by punxcs (Wed 22nd May 2019 1:28am)
  • They also have a great PA, DJ gear, an engineer, lighting and it’s a great inclusive space. by punxcs (Wed 22nd May 2019 1:30am)
  • Quite annoyingly you can now get a pass for ALL busses via tripper but it costs a bit more and is contactless and you load tickets instead of credit onto it. Best thing about london is the fare cap. by punxcs (Wed 22nd May 2019 1:41am)

  • They refused to pay me £161 they owed me for 3 months. Top lads them lot. by punxcs (Fri 7th Jun 2019 11:38pm)
  • I’m sure the beer is fine and all that - but I’m not touching them again out of principle, for myself. by punxcs (Fri 7th Jun 2019 11:48pm)
  • Not gonna give many details. Did a days work, they didn’t like the outcome, they refused to pay me, and didn’t return any of my emails for 3 months, actually got told by another company entirely what the situation was. Just a bit shite tbh. That amount of money is a good hunk of change and it being up in the air is shite, never mind the back and forth. I was in the middle of filling a simple procedure when I eventually got some recompense by punxcs (Fri 7th Jun 2019 11:47pm)

  • Slay and Audio and some other venues out east and owned and ran by the same guy. Slay isn’t open yet I don’t think, haven’t heard from any of the other techs i know why. Audio is a great venue, it’s hard to do sound there because bigger bands come thru. The capacity is between 150-200 iirc not 100. by punxcs (Fri 28th Jun 2019 5:50am)
  • Taylor is a good boy by punxcs (Sat 29th Jun 2019 3:04am)

  • RS, machine mart, glr by punxcs (Tue 2nd Jul 2019 9:15am)
  • Mono is quite good atm because they do a Saturday night just for one band. PCL and 432 pay flat rates to local bands (unless they’re bigger and can negotiate) DF are horrendous don’t go near them unless it’s for the summer or NY thing they do, basically fuck DF and do some research on your promoter and what they usually post or say. by punxcs (Fri 12th Jul 2019 11:31am)
  • The sound waves can refract iirc. Been a while since I did outdoor audio but the different temps of air and wind speeds affect an audio wave. by punxcs (Sun 14th Jul 2019 2:07am)
  • Wasn’t the engineers fault. Mic technique is lacking, and bands don’t understand stage volume. Was class though. by punxcs (Mon 22nd Jul 2019 1:42pm)
  • Bouncers are fine, all lovely people. by punxcs (Thu 25th Jul 2019 1:31pm)

  • The stage was finished days before, if not weeks. I can’t remember exactly what the crew who had worked there had said since it was two years ago now. It was however in the boggiest part of the park and wasn’t safe once it had rained. by punxcs (Wed 11th Sep 2019 2:58pm)
  • The chef who made this is the same guy who made the MD burger, he’s class. The management at bloc really encourage stuff like this, people talking on social media is good for business. by punxcs (Sun 15th Sep 2019 12:54pm)
  • How have they ripped off small catering companies ? the management are nice enough. by punxcs (Sun 15th Sep 2019 4:08pm)
  • Supplied with what ? Pretty sure no one would drop off products unless they already had been paid or got paid when they delivered. Furthermore, I am rather sure that Bloc already have suppliers for everything they do. by punxcs (Sun 15th Sep 2019 4:35pm)
  • i know, but most invoices are either paid cash or cheque, or if you have an account with the suppliers that gets paid montly or weekly. i just dont get why they'd drop stuff of and not get payment then. by punxcs (Sun 15th Sep 2019 7:38pm)

  • I don’t think they are. by punxcs (Mon 28th Oct 2019 5:48pm)
  • As always I recommend Tribe, all their profits after paying staff go to their animal sanctuary. Everyone there is v talented. Don’t go to Blancolo, I know far too many people who went and ended up having a really bad experience. The piercer at Otherworld, is also super talented if she is still there. by punxcs (Mon 4th Nov 2019 8:32pm)

  • Yeah ofc! I’ll pm you my recipe, and along with an alternative by punxcs (Thu 5th Dec 2019 2:01am)
  • Too many replies to PM. 612g VWG 55g protein powder 1 block (349g) tofu 200g soya milk (Grams!!!) Mix wet n dry and knead like fuck season it how u want, and then make a broth for whatever flavour you want it to be. (The broths below are for 3x this recipe portion) I’d boil the loaf in the broth for maximum taste. It’s ready when it gets really big and really firm yet bouncy For the Broth - Pork Flavor 6 cups low sodium vegetable broth or water 1/3 cup soy sauce 2 tablespoons maple syrup 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar 2 teaspoons liquid smoke 2 teaspoons smoked paprika 1 teaspoon onion powder 1 teaspoon garlic powder For the Broth - Chicken Flavor 6 cups low sodium vegetable broth 1/3 cup soy sauce 1/4 cup nutritional yeast flakes 1 1/2 teaspoons white wine vinegar 1 1/2 teaspoons poultry seasoning 1 teaspoon onion powder 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 1/2 teaspoon liquid smoke For the Broth - Beef Flavor 5 1/2 cups low sodium vegetable broth 1/2 cup dry red wine 1/3 cup soy sauce 2 tablespoons vegan Worcestershire sauce 1 teaspoon dried thyme 1/2 teaspoon onion powder 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 1/2 teaspoon black pepper by punxcs (Thu 5th Dec 2019 9:50pm)

  • Where about are ya ? There’s a place on maryhill road we got ours done. I am 100% sure there are more all over, and they cost £25 for a ‘fancy one’ but you need proof of residency, or less than £10 for a not fancy one. by punxcs (Fri 28th Feb 2020 11:54pm)
  • Is there a tenants union near you ? I’d contact them for advice. and get your landlord to update tenancy updated asap, hell I’d even report your landlord if they don’t get back to you promptly. Keys Galore is the name of the place. by punxcs (Sat 29th Feb 2020 12:11am)
  • Landlords are scum and should be made to work for every penny they make. The 61/60 all go up that way, it’s right by queens cross. by punxcs (Sat 29th Feb 2020 1:27am)
  • The landlord is already a nuisance to deal with, if the agreement is out of date, then there’s nothing stopping him having them legally removed from the property since their tenancy will have legally ended and not been renewed. Not worth leaving that on the table, imho. by punxcs (Sat 29th Feb 2020 1:26am)

It should be quite easy to run your router to switch in the loft or somewhere, the down from the attic thru the studs to where u need them, putting an rj45 socket in plasterboard is quite easy, and you only need a few tools, fish wire is a life saver though if you can get some. by punxcs (Wed 24th Jun 2020 12:19am)

  • Bear spray should not be sprayed on anything other than a bear. You shouldn’t even own it here, and I think having any other type of “chemical weapon” on you wouldn’t go down well. It sounds grim, and I know it’s horrible to say with people suffering at the hands of others, but murder and rape are going to be in any city, and even any town you live in to a degree, There’s no escaping it, you may think it’s not happening but just because people don’t come forward which for a lot of women and men will be the unfortunate case, or because it’s not reported, which doesn’t mean it isn’t happening. My advice is get a key alarm or whistle, , try and be proactive about where you go, who you’re with, and to not live in fear. by punxcs (Fri 26th Jun 2020 11:02am)

  • DELETED Well the pop up wasn’t helped by the head chef at blocs reluctantly to share recipes for the first 6 months it was open as well as his attitude towards staff in general. The lack of general support from management, poor wages poor facilities, and a slew of piss poor head chefs at the pop up. Folk at the pop up were being promised to know their future in finnieston at October last year, at Christmas, in January, February. Basically no one wanted to really work there. The staff from the city centre left their kitchen full of rotten food, and left the pop up kitchen a right mess when they left and the pop up ended up with a rats problem because of it - a slow painful death for all. by punxcs (Fri 9th Oct 2020 2:54pm)

You forcibly inseminate it, give it antibiotics, give it growth factors and hormones, you give it supplements, you take it’s child away from it, kill them if they are a male, and then after 18 months when the cow is worn out you kill it. All while polluting the land and water, using too much water, too much land. Cows milk is for cow babies. by punxcs (Wed 21st Oct 2020 4:36pm)

  • They have a foil lining in them are a bit more work to fully recycle iirc. The good thing about them though is you can get them cut down to be tiny - i think i have maybe 70 cartons in a bag under the stairs right now and I have space for another 100 before i need to do a run to a recycling centre. Tetrapak have a list of places on their site, I wanna say polmadie have one. Definitely a bulk recycle if you have the space to keep a white bin bag filled with them. by punxcs (Sun 27th Dec 2020 1:51am)

  • Although they can state it, they cannot enforce it. Even if it’s in breach of tenancy agreement itself it is not grounds for eviction by punxcs (Wed 7th Apr 2021 3:31am)
  • Yes but unfortunately scotland has a list of terms of eviction, breaking your agreement falls under the list of discretionary grounds [for eviction] - which means if you want to fight against against the decision a tribunal can make the final decision on eviction or not. Having pet rats in a cage for example, a breach of contract. However only on paper, the rats are providing the tenant with companionship, entertainment etc, and are caged, and have caused no damage to the property - or say a dog, who is well trained, a cat who is, etc etc. It is a fight but also outright banning pets is abhorrent. At least offer a small pet deposit. by punxcs (Wed 7th Apr 2021 3:57am)

The prior head chef from the 78, has moved onto something else, they’re old school mono, and harmonium. Stereo has literally just reopened. Starting from nothing when your staff have all moved on over the last year is incredibly difficult. The 78 is going through the same thing to some extent. Also the costs of everything from suppliers has skyrocketed because of brexit and covid. No chef wants to make the same dish forever, menus are gonna change. by punxcs (Fri 13th Aug 2021 9:06pm)

I firmly remember being told by many a glaswegian including my father that there was some restrictions. Most any fine dining expensive place - you’re still gonna be paid pennies - it can be very stressful because of the pressure from a cunty head chef. Not everyone in woodlands lives in the west end, and in particular sylvan which is right next to the motorway and about a brisk 90 second walk from sauchihall st is not in the west end. Someone living on park road, aye sure west end, someone living in carrington st, not the west end. by punxcs (Sun 12th Sep 2021 3:32pm)

  • Bet these cunts come out with #notallrangersfans. The inaction and ignorance of people who know how ingrained these people are in their supporters clubs and their pubs are just as bad. You won’t see a celtic fan marching through the city making a racket and harassing folks, and aye sure it’s obviously not all rangers fans, but just looking the other way and defending the club who definitely knows they fuel this shit is just banging a different kind of drum. by punxcs (Sat 18th Sep 2021 7:29pm)

  • Okay let me rephrase, outside of football events, you don’t see that shit. Rangers win the cup, fucking have at it lads. This is just a Saturday. by punxcs (Sat 18th Sep 2021 8:12pm)
  • I don’t think “anti catholic” or “pro anglo saxon white” is an ethnicity. I think if there wasn’t an inherit need and want for people all over the world to force their religious views on other people it’d make everywhere better. by punxcs (Sat 18th Sep 2021 8:10pm)
  • Also I’m a shinty supporting highlander, i could not give a flying fuck about football or alliances to teams. Just so happens however that my catholic friends and family don’t get harassed by drum wielding racists for a few months of the year. by punxcs (Sat 18th Sep 2021 8:15pm)
  • Aye fuck it, devils advocate, bring back the death sentence, arrest them under a new law that states the orange lodge members are outlaws, citing 100+ years of violence against the public, and them get victims of domestic violence to stomp their wee brains in on national tv with ally mccoist and paul lambert commentating. by punxcs (Sat 18th Sep 2021 8:22pm)

  • Here i know glaswegians and the central belt as a whole don’t really care much but you should move away from calling everyone addicted to drugs, heroin, methadone, etc junkies. They’re human beings who have families and lives before and hopefully after addiction. They are people who need help and society just forgets about them, except when they die and then suddenly everyone goes on about how much of a shame it is that we have so many drug deaths. It’s a dehumanising term, for people who ultimately need help and brought back so that they can have their lives again. by punxcs (Sat 2nd Oct 2021 2:58pm)
  • You realise those actions are symptoms of addiction to something like heroin ? That these people are incredibly vulnerable, taken advantage of by their dealers and the gangs that sell them cheap smack. If you want these people to stop being the way they are perhaps treating them like people is the first step toward society helping them with their illness. God forbid you ever see a family members go through the horrors that these types of drugs cause. by punxcs (Sat 2nd Oct 2021 6:12pm)

  • Leave yourself plenty of time though. I booked from cessnock to hyndland with 30 mins to spare, and had to ring 15 mins after they were meant to arrive, for the controller to tell me they didn’t have anything available. That’s not how a booking works pal by punxcs (Tue 2nd Nov 2021 1:46pm)

  • Someone being addicted to drugs isn’t on par with facism or child predatory. by punxcs (Sat 27th Nov 2021 7:10pm)
  • Aye cause the fact he might be addicted to opiates is important to him being a cunt. Call him out for being a prick and asaulting someone, call them out for whatever. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, stigmatising people with heroin and methadone addictions isn’t going to make them better people. Half the city is snorting gear, mandy, and ketimine, or borderline addicted to booze, smoking whatever, so why not call them out as junkies and addicts as well when they’re harassing people and making peoples lives miserable. It’s classism, because you think you’re better - which you may be - but I’m sure if you were addicted to anything like “a junkie” you’d be just as bad. by punxcs (Sat 27th Nov 2021 7:15pm)
  • so why does it matter if they’re addicted to heroin if they’re just like that. by punxcs (Sat 27th Nov 2021 9:02pm)
  • No, the other day you said you’d never taken “smack”, which i can imagine also covers methadone and other opiates, morphine and the like since they are all as bad as each other for addiction. You clearly have a personal thing against these people because of your own experiences so there’s no point even trying to have this conversation or argument. You don’t like these types of people, that’s fair. by punxcs (Sat 27th Nov 2021 9:01pm)
  • I’m not countering, im saying you’re not worth talking to about this. And aye, public forum and all that. 2days ago saying you’ve never touched smack. Get off your cloud you absolute cunt. by punxcs (Sat 27th Nov 2021 9:07pm)
  • Lets go over this; you don’t think it’s an addicts fault but you have an issue with a certain type of addict, who acts that way regardless of it they are “on it” at the time or not. Someone with that mindset. It’s nothing to do with if they are in heroin, the guy in this video is probably a cunt regardless of if he is an addict. Heroin addiction is so fucking far beyond anything else, you know these people can’t help it, yet you’ll call them a junkie, stigmatising their drug use, but also say it’s just them as a person ? by punxcs (Sat 27th Nov 2021 9:18pm)

I asked unite hospitality glasgow as well and they said "get everyone who you worke with to join our union". I'm just at my whits end. the owner pocketed £150 of my cold hard cash that he'd paid me and that I'd put in my lil pay pouch, and despite multiple staff telling him, and us only being cards and takeaway via uber etc, he claimed it was takings. sigh. • because a union for audio engineers and musicians isn't particularly well versed in fighting for chefs. by punxcs (Fri 10th Dec 2021 12:07am)
  • Well it's hospitality so unions are basically powerless. only %3 of all food service and accomidation workers were in unions in the uk in 2018. I have actually recieved lots of help and advice from a few people on how to proceed via acas, who i cant use unfortunantly, HMRC, and clinics at the unis. Unfortunantly I cant just give out all the details and the full story, which is why i typed out a whole thing explaining what happened briefly and with as much information as I feel comfortable sharing. I don't think me being a member of BECTU is really pertint to the matter so I didn't mention it. by punxcs (Fri 10th Dec 2021 12:24am)

  • This is an email I received upon complaining. - - - Thank you for your email relative to the above. I note your comments and can advise that during the period from late March 2020 to early June 2021 there was no Public Processions permitted in any local authority in Scotland, as COVID 19 restrictions prevented the gathering of individuals for the purpose of Public Processions. However, clearly several unauthorised demonstrations or marches took place, during this period. These type of gatherings were managed by Police and should you require any further information or comment in relation to those marches I would suggest that you direct your enquiry to Police Scotland. With regard to Public Processions in general, the right to march, and freedom of assembly, are enshrined in the European Convention on Human Rights. As a result, the council has no legal power to simply ban all parades by the Grand Orange Lodge of Scotland, or by any group or organisation. The law governing public processions is established within the Police, Public Order and Criminal Justice (Scotland) Act 2006 and guidance issued by Scottish Ministers under section 65A of the Civic Government (Scotland) Act 1982. You can access more information here The role of local authorities is to facilitate parades as the presumption to process is heavily weighted towards the peaceful democratic freedom to express either cultural, religious, political, arts or other interest groups. It makes no difference whether it is the Orange Lodge, TUC, Boys Brigade, Church celebrations, other religious festivals, Galas, or any other group or organisation. This means that when considering all notifications for a procession, we will rigorously measure the impact of the procession against each of the four considerations, as set out in the legislation. The four considerations are: public safety; public order; damage to property; and disruption to the life of the community. Each procession must be assessed on its own individual merits and in accordance with the particular circumstances that may prevail at that time. The council can only act on objections made in advance, on an individual notification and on grounds contained within the 2006 Act. Local Authorities must take into account the four factors when considering a procession notification. This is carried out in partnership with Police Scotland and in discussions with organisations over their planned route, timings of march, other events taking place and officer knowledge. Police Scotland are statutory consultees and have a major role to play in parades. They risk assess each individual application in line with the current legislation. If they have intelligence of potential significant and serious disorder, they can make formal submissions or objections to the Council. The council is guided by our own policy and code of conduct which respects the right of individuals and groups to march but clearly sets out that this must be balanced and that others rights are not infringed. It works within the parameters of the legislation and which processions and parades organisers are obliged to adhere to. It can be found here. However, the council also wants to do more to ensure people are aware of the processions that may take place in their community and is looking at ways in which we can improve communications and notifications of marches and parades. For more information on how you can access this process visit the council’s public processions page here I trust that this information is helpful in understanding the limited powers that Local Authorities have to regulate the individuals rights to process. by punxcs (Thu 20th Jan 2022 10:20am)

  • Glasgow like many cities in the world has a varying selection of humans who go from being horrible cunts, like that person who interacted with you, to the polar opposite. I think outside of the west end and southside you’re likely to find the very occasional occurrence like this. For the most part, like 99% glaswegians and people who live in glasgow are either tolerant or don’t care and their language isn’t always beholden to actual prejudice but just vocabulary. I lived in wyndford for 3 years and only ever got bothered by a few times, and i walk about in bright coloured dungarees and look peculiar at times, only ever been threatened and called slurs in the city centre though, the bams in maryhill were surprisingly tolerant. Also small sidenote; calling someone a junkie is a bit shit, they might be a cunt but addiction is a disease and people use junkie in such a dehumanising way that it strips those people of any humanity in others eyes. Anywhere you move besides probably govanhill or hyndland will have an air of “grass is always greener”. by punxcs (Sat 16th Apr 2022 1:55am)

  • REMOVED I very much live in the real world and as a male displaying indivudual with tattoos and a general look of being done with existing I dont get much hassle other than the occasional bam calling me a faggot and trying to start fights, so take your view and fuck off for one. Secondly, how about you fuck right off telling someone that they need to put themselves into a more dangerous situation because "wake up and stop hiding". If this person is brazen enough to harrass someone outside their home god knows what they'd do at other times of day, especially now that they know where they live. I really think you should just butt out and delete this comments you have made because you are really showing yourself as a toxic individual with no understanding of how dangerous and unsafe the world can feel for women (and im betting other groups, do you suggest that trans people just go up and batter terfs ?), now they have some man telling them online to just square go a guy ?! seriously wtf are you on about. • *this* guy, like you're only talking to me. The reality of our current society is that everything is incredibly expensive, do you know how much it costs with delivery to get stock of any amount. Now I'm talking and coming from a background of relatively low quantity, but even at that the cost of sales for items is beyond sustainable for any bussiness. If a local supermarket is easier, more accessible and more importantly cheaper than a wholesale supplier, wholesale btw SHOULD be cheaper, that's the entire point, high quantity lower price but right now it is not cheaper, not by any stretch of the imagination right now, with brexit and ukraine, and National insurance rises AND minimum wage rises all at once the cost of EVERYTHING is through the roof. Ultimately it is up the store managers discretion what they do in their store and what they think is best. Local restraunts are going to choose the path of least resistance, unless you are somewhere doing fine dining where the experience is worth an extra heft chunk of change to make up for the cost of the rest of the service. And if, as someone else in this thread said, a local takeaway let the shop they are going to know that they are gonna be buying 50 packs of peppers, then i am sure the regular shoppers would rather not be left without. by punxcs (Thu 19th May 2022 10:53pm)

Do you think that STV news, fox, sky, the tabloids and newspapers don’t also spread misinformation. The naivety that just the BBC is complicit in those acts is boggling. The BBC as a public body should be held accountable for those past actions, and they can be, because they are publicly owned. The issue is with the government not wanting to and the positions at the BBC being filled with sympathetic political figures. Like pal you’re on reddit, using their platform generating them income, while they allow some dreadful things to occur. Like where do you draw the line ? It’s just fucking marketing, it’s not even from spain lol Also listen here tennents is a great refreshing drink, a lot of places don’t take enough pride in their lines and if their T tastes bad you shouldn’t be drinking anything thru their draught. T was also designed around scottish production whereas carling and a vast majority of other inbev mcbc drinks are designed around other locationd water, and then brewed with hard english water which is pure shite for lager, AND then they knock .2% off the EU abv so they pay less tax. I’ve had espresso from the same place be different day in day out, but I’d still go because I’m comfortable there because even though it’s different depending on the barista it is still good. • I have only seen additive EQ on the lowend for nighclubs, and even then it’s been adding it back in on the mains gfx and maybe a hi q 80-120 boost of 3db, MAYBE. The issue invariably is a lack of time, and lack of professionalism from bands. Turn your amps down, learn to play as a group without stupid loud monitors and amps, and don’t expect the audio engineer to just keep sending more and more of everything. /rant by punxcs (Thu 15th Dec 2022 8:17pm)
  • Rappers and Mcs have poor mic technique. Cupping the mic causes feedback, and being too close to a mic causes a proximity effect which boosts low end frequencies even more. by punxcs (Fri 16th Dec 2022 12:23pm)
  • The whole thing. A vocal channel will NORMALLY have a low cut to 150hz, depending on the vocalist, the stage, the mic etc. The proximity effect raises low and mid low frequencies the closer you get to a microphone, For example commonly cut my own vocal in the studio at 150hz, and low pass at 100hz~, and this means i can get right up on the mic and not have out of control low end. By cupping a microphone it changes the pickup pattern from cardioid to omnidirectional, meaning it picks up everything around it rather than in a cardioid pattern, including all of the noise on stage. The same happens with metal singers. With enough warning an engineer could EQ around it but it once again comes down to professionalism and time. by punxcs (Fri 16th Dec 2022 1:20pm)
  • One thing to keep in mind, mixing guitar bands and DJs is not the same as a rapper with beats. And not everyone has the experience or cares enough. I had some good tutelage and know how to help a MC and rapper sit ontop of instrumental tracks and keep them clear in the mix, while keeping the backing tracks loud. Just comes down to if an engineer mixes mostly rock, jazz, whatever. by punxcs (Fri 16th Dec 2022 7:20pm)

Once again you’re just flogging off any personal responsibility into the ether. Corporations and countries need to do more but so do individuals. As one of your coworkers, and someone who was told they’d be paid RLW when they started, I can tell you that this doesn’t help me, or any of the people I work with who are also incredibly upset and frustrated. Their biggest competitor would have been The Steamie, which shut because of their rent going up exorbitantly, the Cran, and maybe the tea room ? I prefer the 990s, i use Audio Technica m50x at home because they’re pretty sturdy, and work great for me tossing them in my bag when I worked as an audio engineer, but they also sound great. Sennys are good but at that price range, there’s a lot of competition and available today, in glasgow, you can get 990s for the same price, or 770s, the prior are 250ohms so might be a bit hard to drive without an amp, but if you can drove them properly they sound beautiful to me, for the price. 770s are 80ohms so much easier but still great sounding, at the same price, and honestly comfy af. by punxcs (Sat 15th Apr 2023 3:41pm)

  • Okay so beyond your insults towards me based around my mental health, which thanks for, I think that these private clinics that will diagnose and prescribe for adhd, at high expense, are poisonous and disingenuous towards people who are vulnerable. I have said and you can find my history of saying that paying a private clinic for a private prescription that will cost you thousands, doesn’t help anyone except the private clinic. This is why when watching this, something that is very close to me as someone with adhd and some hip cool asd to boot, I am enraged at people being exploited for thousands of pounds. They exist because of the massive influx of people wanting ‘tested’ and the lack of availability on the NHS (although I had a quick and positive experience, was 3 months in total from first psychiatrists visit to prescription). For how easy it is to enter the private system, with a private prescription, and more costly followups for life, do you not think that eyebrows should be getting raised ? It’s all well and good these companies exist, and that people can access an alternative route towards diagnosis and possible treatment but there is not even nearly enough oversight on these places, and their practices. I don’t think panorama is cheapshot ? Their production and journalist team is quite good at their job and have a history of uncovering issues in the NHS/health care system. by punxcs (Wed 17th May 2023 5:00pm)

I mean they might be taking advantage but they have costs to cover,m m, 250 is steep though. But some people will pay that and no doubt have. It maybe raises a question of should we buy stuff if you can’t get rid of the waste of buying it ? Something I’ve wondered. • Why do you believe that by punxcs (Thu 25th May 2023 7:47pm)
  • The main component of that thought being “need”. Currently people need to travel much more than 20 minutes all over the city to access care, advice, shopping, leisure, because they have to, not because they want to. I live right by all of the things i could ever need (cheap falafel and a co-op) but I still travel to access things in other parts of the city because I want to, I don’t need to. Glad I could clear that up for you. God bless. by punxcs (Sat 27th May 2023 8:54pm)

  • You’ll be shocked with how many places have a few “visitors”. I mind a mouse running thru pizza punks seated area during service lol. • They are responsible to properly clean their sections. by punxcs (Tue 6th Jun 2023 8:09pm)
  • I’ve worked in 4 places with mice, most places (bloc cough) had no care, getting minimum wage bar and kitchen staff to care is hard, only people who have that overwhelming need to keep up to your own standards can make it through that. Even now I’ll go out of my way to do tasks daily and weekly that I don’t need to, because I HAVE to. Somewhere like 13th with all this going on, I know there must have been a “minimum wage minimum effort” thing going on. I had an ex co worker say the same because we didn’t get a pay rise. Like if you’re not gonna work properly, and do your tasks and clean properly then in my honest opinion you do not deserve, especially when others have to make up for your work. That’s how a mouse infestation gets worse and worse. Not cleaning up food scraps, a single pumpkin seed is a fucking feast to one mouse. Guess it’s hard to clean under fridges when they’re falling to bits tho. by punxcs (Tue 6th Jun 2023 8:07pm)

They would get into our pantry and my shelf is the bottom one, so I lost so many lentils and bags of flour, but once I found the hole, and blocked it with some metal, they couldn’t get it, so then it was just a case of cleaning up any food scraps in the kitchen or bits on the floor, and eventually the mice started going to other rooms, but have since disappeared. That took like 3 months ? Moral of the story is, remove their food, they’ll fuck off eventually. by punxcs (Wed 7th Jun 2023 10:48am)

Your GP can refer you to IPS (individual placement scheme) with samh as well and you can get 1 on 1 support weekly with someone on an ongoing basis. Please don’t throw away all your money just yet. Talk to your GP and disability team at the uni (which one may i ask?), there is a vast amount of support available for you and you do not need a diagnosis to get help, a doctor can write a note, or you can let them know you’re in the process with GPHSC. by punxcs (Thu 8th Jun 2023 7:28pm)

  • a commercial dishwasher is not a dishwasher, it sanitaises already cleaned dishes, it will clean off some things however, just through heat and the water hitting everything. All of that food waste ends up building up in the corners, drainage, and basically all over the insides of the machine, which leads to bacteria growth. You are meant to clean out completely, and drain, them every however many hours if it's a high use one, or at the end of the day if it's not as busy. You drain it, wipe down all the insides, santise and then dry it. The door hinges, all around the handles, the outside handles, all of the inside had this build up of grey sludgy waste. not nice.
