  • Know a guy that got tested at 2pm yesterday and had the results by 9am this morning. Must have sprinted out that test centre to visit all these pubs! by Scottish_squirrel (Thu 3rd Sep 2020 7:01pm)

  • When It happened to us. The council sent out a noise officer but as it was generally the middle of the night and they couldn't witness it. They told us to refer it to our landlord and the factor. It stopped pretty quick after the factor wrote to them. by Scottish_squirrel (Tue 8th Sep 2020 6:42pm)
  • Probably just be wet but not much different from any other time. by Scottish_squirrel (Tue 8th Sep 2020 7:11pm)
  • Even pre covid there were always queues outside it. Baffled me by Scottish_squirrel (Wed 9th Sep 2020 9:49pm)
  • Just look for the carriage with the train sticker or logo. There's folded up seats that have seat belt like straps to hold it in place. Although someone might come in afterwards and put their bike on top of yours. Just check who is getting off first (Balloch is the end of the line so not an issue here) Sometimes on quiet services I've just left mine in the door way and got up ready to move it at each stop. Never been challanged on it. by Scottish_squirrel (Thu 10th Sep 2020 10:23pm)
  • It's just in the seating area so you'd be near it the entire time. The long distance trains have seperate carriages I think that the conductor locks and u need a ticket to access. I booked to take my bike to Carlisle and I needed to book a bike ticket. Lockdown stopped the planned trip however. by Scottish_squirrel (Thu 10th Sep 2020 10:28pm)
  • I will say on that note, bike parts are impossible to get atm. Even inner tubes. So if u lock your bike up outside make it extra secure. by Scottish_squirrel (Thu 10th Sep 2020 10:30pm)
  • Awesome thank you. by Scottish_squirrel (Fri 11th Sep 2020 9:11am)
  • It's in the east end but the baseball field in Tollcross Park. Raised above the trees and flat. by Scottish_squirrel (Sat 12th Sep 2020 3:18pm)
  • Firstly, good luck getting a bike you'd want to ride for under £200 new. Better checking selling sites for that sort of money but bikes are trading hands for silly money atm. Parts are thin on the ground so people are also flogging off broken bikes to people who don't realise they won't be able to repair them easily. Reputable bike shops tend to have a finance option but again they wouldn't sell bikes for under £200 and if they do they probably wouldn't finance a low amt. I've just applied for C2W as my bike couldn't be repaired and a new bike is needed. I'm likely (hopeful) to be with the same employer in 12 mths so not sure how it works to change employer within that time. An annual next bike membership is £60. They are OK to ride if you are just pottering around town on good days. This has probably been of no help but I am a cyclist. by Scottish_squirrel (Sat 12th Sep 2020 10:05pm)
  • I'd say not very safe. Bikes & bike parts are in short supply atm so I'd reckon you'd become a target. If they want your bike, no amount of locks will stop them by Scottish_squirrel (Sun 13th Sep 2020 5:05pm)
  • My daughter got one. Firstly offered a test in Dundee then finally got one in ravenscraig. Requested it on Monday. Appointment was 10am Tuesday and results came in 3pm the Thursday. Felt like forever! Husband had to sit in the back seat to test her then climb back in the front to drive home. by Scottish_squirrel (Mon 14th Sep 2020 1:18pm)

  • I've seen people cycle them out towards Balloch so I think as long as they are returned to a next bike station they don't care where they've been. by Scottish_squirrel (Thu 17th Sep 2020 8:46pm)
  • Schools are closed. Banks are open. by Scottish_squirrel (Tue 22nd Sep 2020 9:27pm)
  • Was out yesterday at the forge for my sins (nearest bank) . The few people pretending to wear masks either only had their chins covered or their mouth but not nose. No one challenged any of them. If they wanted to issue these fines, they aren't trying very hard to catch people. Can't claim you are exempt of you have a mask hanging from your face somewhere! by Scottish_squirrel (Thu 24th Sep 2020 3:20pm)
  • Had two guys on bikes approach last night asking if I had a key to their bike lock which was around the seat post. Tried asking them why they didn't have a key and who's bike it was. They just cycled off. Seemed really suspicious. by Scottish_squirrel (Fri 25th Sep 2020 7:10am)

  • Walled by all bar one at dinner time yesterday and it was busy. Most tables had 6 adults sat at them. Guess they claimed they lived in 1 or 2 households. All bar one clearly don't care by Scottish_squirrel (Tue 29th Sep 2020 1:44pm)
  • Scotlandpeople.gov.uk has a search function. If you know an approx year & surname you might find or confirm details you need. I do love a bit of family ancestry but I normally go to the records office in Edinburgh to do a deep dive. by Scottish_squirrel (Wed 30th Sep 2020 8:02am)
  • Finding it difficult to do online tbh. That's how you'd find it in the records office which is unfortunately closed for covid. Not sure of the Mitchell library birth records department is open atm. Ancestry doesn't return Scottish records unless they appear on someone else's family free. Sorry I wasn't more help by Scottish_squirrel (Wed 30th Sep 2020 9:52am)
  • Thank you. Never out that way by Scottish_squirrel (Wed 30th Sep 2020 1:15pm)
  • Years ago now but I started learning in Feb and passed in June. Failed the mock test the morning of my actual test. But that got my fear of failing out the way and went on and passed my actual test first time. May have failed the theory once mind you 😂. If you fail yiu fail and you'll know what the test feels like. by Scottish_squirrel (Thu 1st Oct 2020 7:43am)

  • We had our wedding photos taken in the grounds behind Glasgow oldest house at the cathedral. Didn't need permission although the photographer did notify the building. We had “engagement " photos after the wedding in kelvin Grove Park to make use of the autumn colours. Obviously not in bridal wear but no one asked what was going on. by Scottish_squirrel (Thu 15th Oct 2020 7:43pm)
  • Cycled through the city today. Was so disgusted at the state of the city. From shops all being shut down to the graffiti. It was depressing and a real sign of what's ahead by Scottish_squirrel (Thu 15th Oct 2020 8:46pm)

  • I reported a country road literally blocked with fly tipping. Went back along that way on Sunday and the stuff had literally just been dragged off the road and onto the verges at the side. Either the council did that or haven't bothered to lift it. by Scottish_squirrel (Tue 27th Oct 2020 2:49pm)
  • My daughter has been for 2 this year. 1 took 48hrs and 1 less than 12hrs. Guess it just depends on the volume of tests that particular period. by Scottish_squirrel (Wed 28th Oct 2020 9:23am)

  • I use the ones along London Road and more and more cars are parking in them. The quality of some of them are terrible and they don't meet up with each other. Just as well I'm pretty Confident on the roads by Scottish_squirrel (Sat 21st Nov 2020 3:10pm)
  • I came along that stretch yesterday then along London Road which is being dug up. Got eyeballed by someone coming out of McDonald's even though they pulled out Infront of me. Then had to brave the next half of London Road before I came to the cycle lane again. It's nice to have but be nicer if they connected. Drivers get so pissed at them existing but also at having to share a road with us. Can't win! by Scottish_squirrel (Sun 22nd Nov 2020 2:01pm)

  • The underground level in Vienna Station is literally a junkie haven. People passed out after injecting and people injecting on their way to passing out. Hidden down there to keep them off the street. Unfortunately tourists arriving still pass it all. Glasgow is a dump these days. by Scottish_squirrel (Tue 24th Nov 2020 6:57pm)
  • Online in Scotland is tough (ancestry doesn't hold good records) . I prefer (pre pandemic) to go to the Scotlands people offices in Edinburgh and do a full day of research for a flat fee. I think the Mitchell library had a section similar but Ive never used it. There is an online option but I believe you pay per search which is no good of you are cross referencing. I'd offer to help in person but who knows when this pandemic will end by Scottish_squirrel (Thu 26th Nov 2020 5:51pm)
  • Eastend? We have a crazy bird lady who litters the streets with seeds. Police have advised her not to but she's not of a strong mind by Scottish_squirrel (Thu 26th Nov 2020 6:41pm)

  • As a fellow cyclis, you'll get abuse either way. Even on shared paths, pedestrians will berate you. Drivers will berate you for being on the road. Some cycle lanes aren't fit for purpose. But definitely go for it! You grow a thick skin by Scottish_squirrel (Fri 27th Nov 2020 12:41pm)
  • I learned in 4 months having 1 lesson a week. Whoever told u a year was having you on surely! You need to want it. by Scottish_squirrel (Mon 30th Nov 2020 7:57pm)
  • I live in the east end of the city near shettleston. Doesn't have a great reputation but we've never had any trouble. 5 miles or so from town. Good connection to Glasgow & Edinburgh on the train and endless buses. Loads of flats under £60k. Everyone will have you believe you need to be southside or westend but to get your foot on the ladder you'd probably need to go north or east for a bit. by Scottish_squirrel (Tue 1st Dec 2020 6:40pm)
  • My friend used to live right around there alone (female). Never had any problems. Super handy for belgrove train and bridgeton train. All the buses and also the green. Some people are obsessed with saying they live in "good" areas. by Scottish_squirrel (Wed 2nd Dec 2020 6:21pm)

  • All tenements are pretty different. I grew up in a corner tenement in the city centre. Massive living room. 2 big bedrooms fair size kitchen but tiny bathroom. Had 3 walk in cupboards in the Hall which were great but probably a waste of space and someone has probably since knocked through to the bathroom. Family member had a corner plot in the southside which had a massive kitchen & living room. Small bedrooms and a decent size bathroom. Another friend in the southside had a bathroom so small your knees touched the wall when sat on the loo and I'm short! Always freezing! We had a new build flat and it was always warm with the pensioners living underneath. by Scottish_squirrel (Thu 3rd Dec 2020 2:41pm)

  • Dennistoun got a lot of write up lately but being an amazing place to live. Apart from the hipsters queuing up to get their posh bread & coffees, it's still all the same east end people who have always lived there! Everywhere in Glasgow has good beside bad. Places are generally as safe as you make yourself in them. by Scottish_squirrel (Fri 11th Dec 2020 12:26pm)

  • I live next to Greenfield. Never had any problems. Has the local schools in the area so it can be busy with cars & kids depending where in Greenfield. The park is OK for a wee walk through but it's small. Handy fornoublic transport and access to the motorway. by Scottish_squirrel (Sat 26th Dec 2020 3:49pm)
  • I'd start with what jobs you'd think you'd want first. (hard atm since only really supermarkets are open). Would it be a city centre job or more out in the suburbs. You can rent in areas like Maryhill & Rutherglen for about £600pcm with a very short commute to the city. If you just wanted access to Glasgow but not work in the city you could go far out like east Kilbride or somewhere in South Lanarkshire and get a full house for £600/700 pcm. Everyone will say you want to be west end but if you aren't bothered about going out out that might be money down the drain. You want to be close to what you enjoy doing. by Scottish_squirrel (Sun 27th Dec 2020 9:54am)
  • I've given up being angry about my neighbours breaking the rules. At the end of the day there's a virus running rampant so that's their risk to take. Personally I'm sticking to the rules for me & my health! by Scottish_squirrel (Sun 27th Dec 2020 4:11pm)
  • I've called the police twice during the march lockdown. They arrived. Spoke to said neighbour. Went off and they carried on how they wished after that. Twice. I have nothing to do with them now. I keep myself safe. It's not entirely them polices fault but if they'd been punished at any point might have put an end to it. But unfortunately it's something I've had to ignore for my own mental health. I'd happily see people punished but feel no intention to join in just because everyone else is. by Scottish_squirrel (Sun 27th Dec 2020 6:01pm)
  • Anniesland, westerton, kelvindale are all handy areas. Near the canal & river kelvin and plenty of parks. Obviously depends on your budget. These areas have train stations handy for town and close to places like byres Road for a West end shopping experience. Anniesland & westerton trains run right up to Loch lomond without changes. Likely be plenty of places in these areas for yoga. There is also the movement studio & hot yoga on byres Road. by Scottish_squirrel (Sun 27th Dec 2020 9:28pm)

Mon Jan 11th children of keyworkers will return to school while all other pupils will begin home learning until Jan 18th at the earliest. So technically they might return to school on the 18th but I doubt that'll happen. by Scottish_squirrel (Wed 30th Dec 2020 8:46am)

  • I agree with everyone else but I'm biased about Glasgow. Glasgow is compact and easy to do on foot. It's very like Canada and you don't need to go far for stunning scenery. Europe is a short flight away to explore places like Paris, London, Amsterdam etc. Paris is massive and so spread out. Its beautiful to see but definitely need to use public transport to cross the city. Weather is much the same in the 2 cities. You'd definitely make friends here! by Scottish_squirrel (Mon 4th Jan 2021 8:44am)

  • Shettleston dweller here. Gets a bad name but I actually like it. Buses & trains go continually. Direct link to Edinburgh and all the way to Balloch. Tesco, aldi all within walking distance. Shettleston Road has some good wee shops and cafes. The natives are what they are but have never had problems in the few years we've been here! by Scottish_squirrel (Tue 5th Jan 2021 9:01pm)
  • Some wild swimmers told me someone got bit by a pike the other week in a loch. Not in menteith though. The hotel there and inchmaholm priory are my favourite places in Scotland. • On the question about going for a walk. You'd be fine. The Clyde walkway runs from the green basically all the way along the Clyde and it's pretty nice in the summer. Thr green is massive for nice walks. Even walking into town isn't far. It's walkable to Dennistoun of you wanted to see what all that fuss is all about (not sure myself despite living in the east end!). by Scottish_squirrel (Fri 8th Jan 2021 4:34pm)
  • Bridgton is fine. Abercromby Street has some characters but on the whole it's all fine. The thing to be aware of if the world ever returns to normal. Celtic football stadium is along the road. No fans are attending games atm but all gets busy when a game is on. On the other end of the scale, Bridgton is the epicenter for orange lodges. The flags and bunting all come out in July and attracts bams. Again not happening during the pandemic. As an area its not bad but you'd want to be mindful of these 2 groups. by Scottish_squirrel (Fri 8th Jan 2021 4:31pm)

I'm now left with a half full bin 3 weeks before the next collection. Good transport links around the city and to the wider country. Less than 1hr train to Edinburgh or Loch lomond. Usually pretty easy to make friends or join clubs. • I grew up in Blantyre. Campus is more attached to high Blantyre (we view it as a seperate town). South Lanarkshire didn't have a great rep for a few years there but it's all calmed down. Blantyre is quite proud of its heritage and trying to build a good wee community. Not sure about transport to the campus but it's close to hillhouse, high Blantyre and east Kilbride. Imagine there's some sort of uni transport. by Scottish_squirrel (Mon 25th Jan 2021 8:27pm)

  • That's is really interesting to know. Thank you. We followed the little burn from Greenfield Park the other day. Would be interesting to see more like it. My challange only counted if you got a picture of the park sign. That's why I mention the signage being removed. I had to discount those 2 parks from my numbers. Most folk probably haven't been in the city centre for a year (which by the way has bus gates everywhere making driving in even tougher). Queen Street station is new (again had little footfall). They closed George Square at the counting House for a giant beer garden. Not only for them but for me getting home safe in the dark. Hamilton Road lanes are in such poor state they are impossible to ride in. I for one don't feel safe getting a puncture and having to stand along trying to fix them. I've even been able to cycle with my kids to Glasgow Green because the lanes are there. The pot holes are terrible. • The first flat we rented had a balcony. We over looked the carpark so hardly picturesque. I used to stick my drying rack out to dry towels & such. Not very very often but enough for a neighbour to publish a newsletter that always gently reminded residents of the no clothes drying rule. His balcony was away round the other side and he'd only ever see ours from the carpark. Wasn't til recently all these years later I found a document from that time that stated the balcony wasn't to be used for drying clothes. They were trying to provoke a fight with the police. Went to get the train home and could hardly get on the carriage for teens. Half were smoking hash on the train. I always pass it off like let's not worry about trying to sort out change. I recall as a kid my mum would give everyone who'd touched her hair in thr hairdressers a pound each. I was always embarrassed. by Scottish_squirrel (Wed 2nd Jun 2021 11:09am)

  • I'll cycle up it a lot from Shettleston road. Cars often just pull out without looking. People cross the road from between parked cars and think they are Invincible and taxis do burleys with no regard. It's just mayhem car wise. • We went the Monday of Scotland first game. We were only really in the big screen area so can't comment what the family zone was like. You're assigned a table number. You head for that and sit down. Pretty sure you check in to track & trace. There's a QR code to scan for the bar. You order what you want. They bring it out to your table. Scan your bank card or whatever & walk away. There's a bin beside every table so no one should really move about. Toilets are the standard blue smelly porta loos. There's a queue system. Taps unit outside to wash your hands and sanitizer dotted around. Was all pretty civilised. We were there for all 3 games that Monday. Think 1 beer & 1 cider was around £12. There's a pizza truck & churros. Again order on the QR and wait for delivery. by Scottish_squirrel (Tue 22nd Jun 2021 10:50pm)
  • London Road esp has plenty of side streets to tuck yourself in to let them past. The road is still plenty wide that we can share it. My question to planners is the amount of time they have cyclists crossing entire lanes of traffic to join a cycle lane that's only on the opposite side of the road. Then cross back to suit whatever silly design they've thought up. Lanes shouldn't be for hardened cyclists. They are meant to be safe & encourage our young & old alike to get out and make it a healthy habit. by Scottish_squirrel (Wed 23rd Jun 2021 4:43pm)

  • I sat waiting for a bus with my kids one day. One pulled into the stop with a not in service sign. Sat for ages (still not in service). The bus we were waiting on was then due and we were looking out for it. The not in service bus pulled away then suddenly changed its number to what we were waiting on and drove off. My kids kept walking to the front of the bus to check if it had a number. The drivers seem to hate their jobs and do anything they can to not have passengers. We'd waited over 30mins at that point and had another 30mins wait for the next bus. by Scottish_squirrel (Mon 4th Oct 2021 2:24pm)

  • We've attempted to eat in at mcdonalds a few times over the summer. Treat for the kids and its been terrible. Regardless of the mcdonalds. So many delivery drivers the food takes ages to arrive. When it does its missing half the burger or stone cold. Usually ends up being sent back. They really need a ghost kitchen for their delivery orders as the shop staff can't cope with the demand. My kids even ask to not go now (win for us). by Scottish_squirrel (Sun 17th Oct 2021 10:55pm)
  • My blame wasn't on delivery drivers. Or even the kitchen staff. More that mcdonalds are overworking each shop and making drivers & customers wait too long for cold incomplete meals. Dining in should be dining in and they should have ghost kitchens like lots of other take aways do to service the delivery trade to make everything more efficient. by Scottish_squirrel (Mon 18th Oct 2021 2:12pm)

  • Any time this question is asked around here you're guaranteed to be told live in the west end or southside. Other areas aren't squeeky clean but not war zones like people would have you believe. If you want to be nearer to garscube for the vet school you'd be better looking in that area. Maryhill /Anniesland etc (depending on budget). Get a map and draw a circle on how far you'd want to be from the school and work from there. The southside is a lot of travelling every day. by Scottish_squirrel (Thu 6th Jan 2022 8:44am)

  • I think you've hit the nail on the head. I go to gigs rarely now. But when I do I feel Glasgow has lost the title of being the best gigs in the world. I went to see Ed Sheeran at the hydro and for being a sold out show I had no one near me without climbing my way towards the front of the stage. Gigs have lost their crazy atmosphere you used to feel in the dreaded Hall 4. Where people would constantly be jumping all over you. The saddest thing being when the ABC disappeared. People you'd see in the smaller setting are likely taking the opportunity to play the big stage. by Scottish_squirrel (Mon 21st Feb 2022 11:05am)

Too many companies are under staffing themselves in some weird "we don't have budget" for staff but pay thousands in overtime. It's annoying the trains aren't running properly. I almost preferred the Sunday strikes but I respect why it's happening. by Scottish_squirrel (Wed 25th May 2022 9:09am)

At the same time you'd also have a place amongst "glasweigens" You could find a lavish lifestyle here with designer shops and fancy restaurants /hotels etc. Your salary is what my husband & I bring in together and we keep a home and a family so I expect it'd do you nicely. Some of the lochs mentioned are good for swimming but you're best to have a spotter on shore if you aren't used to it. Easy to become tired/disoriented in a Loch. Sometimes neds cause problems on the path behind Tesco (setting bins on fire, breaking glass etc) but that's quite isolated. Transport links are good. Shops are good. Few places to eat & drink in. He found me easily about 10 mins later when he returned. 2nd time he parked at wishart Street and I walked in the main entrance. Stopping every minute or so as I was 8cm dilated. • Took us 2 years to get our kid seen on the NHS for an Initial diagnosis. Could take another 2 years for the actual testing process to start. In our case, we had to update a Dr regularly with how it was affecting their lives then eventually they put a referral in. They aren't going to refer anyone after just a few months. I imagine a private diagnosis will give you answers, but probably won't open any doors to NHS support. by Scottish_squirrel (Tue 20th Dec 2022 9:22am)

  • I recall someone on here quite recently saying a private diagnosis doesn't open any NHS doors in terms of treatment. It does take years on the NHS (we're about mid way through with my daughter). You have to hound your GP for a referral. Phone weekly and ask them to update her record with details of anything that she's struggling with/that's out of control. Without a history nothing will happen. Then they'll out a referral in. You get an initial assessment. Probably a few more hoops to jump through while you wait on the follow up assessment. You really need to drive the situation. Push & fight. by Scottish_squirrel (Fri 6th Jan 2023 5:50pm)

Its in the south side of the city. Probably not a whole day effort but if you have your wellies you can walk around the park or maybe go into Pollok House if it's open. Sneaked a picture of us wearing them in the dressing room because even though we'd put money down on the order they forbid any pictures. Few weeks before the big day we went for a fitting in the actual dresses and they were a horrible cotton material and completely different shade of thr colour picked. The staff were rude and said that design was never satin. Thankfully we had our sneaked picture to back us up. They had to order in the proper dresses in a rush. • It's been days of hard powerful downpours. Localised flooding everyday. All it takes is 1 tiny gap somewhere and rain like that is in. It can't dry out before the next day of hard heavy downpour. Been caught in it a few times and it's definitely not the rain we're used to here. Football last night might be an example how it really wasn't normal. Obviously I hope you & all the gentleman are well and tonight passes with more comfort. by Scottish_squirrel (Wed 21st Jun 2023 1:00pm)

Got berated that I wasn't wearing something from their sister clothes store. Got left to stand about for a bit then got told the staff were all going for lunch and I'd be on my own for an hour. No till knowledge, no back up at all. I had to start telling customers approaching the shop that purchases couldn't be made until after 1pm or whatever. Staff got back I asked to leave. They wanted to run a till report first. No idea what they thought of me as I got out of there as quick as and never set foot in the place again. No one wants stuck in traffic crossing the city while in labour. I had about 4 miles to travel and every bump was hellish. You can travel Scotland wide on local and long distance bus services, apart from a few exceptions such as premium-fare night buses, city sightseeing buses, and some airport transfer services. Check with your bus operator if in doubt. If you are travelling to England, you will be able to travel to Carlisle or Berwick-Upon-Tweed, but it cannot be used to travel within these towns. by Scottish_squirrel (Wed 6th Sep 2023 6:26am)
  • Why not tap off. I've never been "shouted at" for tapping off. A 10p hold will be put on for every journey then a few days later you'll be charged to the max of a day ticket. If you don't tap off you're charged for the entire journey. What a waste of money unless you're covering enough journeys that the full are would be applied anyway. People sit in their own bubble on the bus with or without tapping on & off. Kids tap on. Pensions tap on. Then everyone sits with headphones. Or is so out their face they aren't worth talking to. by Scottish_squirrel (Fri 8th Sep 2023 11:47am)
  • Point being. This guy just isn't bothering to because it's apparently easier. He's assuming no one is tapping off. Free bus travel cards don't tap off. It is a system designed to maximise profit but so was the old coin system. Think of all the times people had to round up as they didn't have the exact change. No point blaming each other when in this case it's user error. He's giving that money away out of his convience. No ones holding his hand over the fire by Scottish_squirrel (Fri 8th Sep 2023 12:01pm)

The dennys in Glasgow trying to be a super expensive up market place. The hype died really quick and took any tasty food with it. by Scottish_squirrel (Sun 24th Sep 2023 7:39am)

  • Was just stuck behind one driving home. They were weaving along the road whilst talking on their phone . I hung back to be on the safe side. We all stopped at traffic light then on the green they just stood blocking the lane having a conversation on their phone. Aabsolute no awareness or regard for other road users. by Scottish_squirrel (Sun 8th Oct 2023 6:35pm)

  • If you aren't at the stop first, you don't get on first. Older gents always seem to offer ladies & people with young kids to go first. Pensioner ladies do tend to feel entitled by Scottish_squirrel (Fri 3rd Nov 2023 3:58pm)
  • I'd go without the note. Just the business card. by Scottish_squirrel (Sat 4th Nov 2023 4:48pm)
  • As a cyclist. I struggle to take my kids out on rides with me. Getting to a cycle route can be dangerous then once on a route, it often disappears leaving them exposed. I'm also a driver and have observed people are getting more & more dangerous in their cars. They get in and are suddenly in a bubble & fk anyone else around them. by Scottish_squirrel (Sun 5th Nov 2023 11:52am)

  • Unfortunately many parents enforce this shit. There's a mentality of stand up for yourself regardless. Often they get in their head they've been wronged by someone and can't let it drop. My kids are school age and I always hear parents telling their kids to start stuff. by Scottish_squirrel (Fri 1st Dec 2023 11:49am)

  • I take my kids. It's always a mix. Small kids, teens. Solo adults & adults with the small kids. Everyone just does their own skating and never really pay attention to what anyone else is doing/who they are with etc. I think the 18+ discos are more expensive but if you're worried about kids I'd suggest do one of those. by Scottish_squirrel (Mon 11th Dec 2023 9:31pm)
